Abstract
本発明に係るプリフォーム(1)は、第1の着色樹脂(R1)からなる基材層(5)の外周側に、第1の着色樹脂(R1)とは異なる色の第2の着色樹脂(R2)からなり、上方に向かって層厚が徐々に減少するグラデーション領域(Gr)を形成する着色層(6a)が形成されると共に、該着色層(6a)の外周側に第1の着色樹脂(R1)からなる被覆層(7)が形成されていることを特徴とするものである。
Description
本発明は、層厚が徐々に減少するグラデーション領域を形成する着色層を有する合成樹脂製のプリフォーム、及びそのようなプリフォームを2軸延伸ブロー成形することで得られるボトルに関し、特に、良好なグラデーション模様を得ようとするものである。
従来、飲料、食品、化粧料等の様々な分野で使用されるPET(ポリエチレンテレフタレート)等の合成樹脂製ボトルにおいて、着色の濃淡をボトルの上下方向(ボトルの軸心に沿う方向)に変化させ、着色濃度に係るグラデーションを現出させてボトルを加飾する2軸延伸ブロー成形ボトルが知られている(例えば、特許文献1参照)。特許文献1では、3層ノズルを用いた共射出成形により、透明な基材層内に着色樹脂からなる中間層を設け、この中間層によってグラデーション模様を得ている。
しかしながら、特許文献1に記載されるような従来のボトルでは、基材層が無色透明であるため、グラデーション模様が強調されないという問題があった。このため、基材に着色剤を添加することが考えられるが、この場合には、中間層が隠れてグラデーション模様が見えなくなってしまうという問題がある。
本発明は、前記の現状に鑑み開発されたもので、良好なグラデーション模様を得ることができるプリフォーム及びボトルを提供することを目的とする。
すなわち、本発明の要旨構成は以下のとおりである。
1.層厚が徐々に減少するグラデーション領域を形成する着色層を有する合成樹脂製のプリフォームにおいて、
第1の着色樹脂からなる基材層の外周側に、第1の着色樹脂とは異なる色の第2の着色樹脂からなり、上方に向かって層厚が徐々に減少するグラデーション領域を形成する着色層が形成されると共に、該着色層の外周側に前記第1の着色樹脂からなる被覆層が形成されていることを特徴とするプリフォーム。

第1の着色樹脂からなる基材層の外周側に、第1の着色樹脂とは異なる色の第2の着色樹脂からなり、上方に向かって層厚が徐々に減少するグラデーション領域を形成する着色層が形成されると共に、該着色層の外周側に前記第1の着色樹脂からなる被覆層が形成されていることを特徴とするプリフォーム。
2.前記プリフォームは、前記プリフォームの底部中央に対応して設けられたゲート内に前記第1の着色樹脂が充填された状態から、前記ゲートを介して、金型のキャビティ内に前記第1の着色樹脂を第1の所定時間に亘って射出すると共に、前記第2の着色樹脂を第2の所定時間に亘って射出することで形成されており、
前記第1の所定時間の開始時点を前記第2の所定時間の開始時点以後とし、前記第1の所定時間の終了時点を前記第2の所定時間の終了時点より後とすると共に、前記第2の着色樹脂の射出速度を前記第1の着色樹脂の射出速度よりも速くすることで、前記第1の着色樹脂が、金型のキャビティ内に位置する前記第2の着色樹脂の中央部を突き貫いた後、前記第2の着色樹脂を引き延ばしつつ流動することにより、
前記基材層の外周側に前記着色層が形成されると共に、前記着色層の外周側に前記被覆層が形成されている、前記1のプリフォーム。
前記第1の所定時間の開始時点を前記第2の所定時間の開始時点以後とし、前記第1の所定時間の終了時点を前記第2の所定時間の終了時点より後とすると共に、前記第2の着色樹脂の射出速度を前記第1の着色樹脂の射出速度よりも速くすることで、前記第1の着色樹脂が、金型のキャビティ内に位置する前記第2の着色樹脂の中央部を突き貫いた後、前記第2の着色樹脂を引き延ばしつつ流動することにより、
前記基材層の外周側に前記着色層が形成されると共に、前記着色層の外周側に前記被覆層が形成されている、前記1のプリフォーム。
3.前記第1の着色樹脂のIV値が0.5~0.63の範囲内である、前記1又は2のプリフォーム。
4.前記1~3のいずれかのプリフォームを2軸延伸ブロー成形することで、前記着色層により着色濃度に係るグラデーションが現出して加飾されたボトル。
本発明によれば、第1の着色樹脂からなる基材層の外周側に、第1の着色樹脂とは異なる色の第2の着色樹脂からなる着色層を形成したことで、グラデーション模様を強調できると共に、着色層の外周側に第1の着色樹脂からなる被覆層を形成したことで、着色層を薄い被覆層で覆ってグラデーション模様の濃淡の遷移を暈せるため、良好なグラデーション模様を得ることができる。
したがって、本発明によれば、良好なグラデーション模様を得ることができるプリフォーム及びボトルを提供することができる。
以下、図1~図4を参照して、本発明の一実施形態に係るプリフォーム1及びボトル8について詳細に例示説明する。
ここに、本明細書において、上下方向とは、プリフォーム1の軸心に沿う方向を意味し、上方とは、プリフォーム1の底部2から口部4に向かう方向を意味し、下方とは、その反対方向を意味するものとする。

図1に示すように、本実施形態に係る合成樹脂製のプリフォーム1は、底部2、胴部3及び口部4を有する有底円筒形状をなし、2種類の着色樹脂を共射出することで成形されている。具体的には、プリフォーム1は、第1の着色樹脂R1(好ましくは、白色の着色剤を添加したPET)からなる基材層5を有している。また、基材層5の外周側には、第1の着色樹脂R1とは異なる色の第2の着色樹脂R2(好ましくは、白色以外の着色剤を添加したPET)からなり、上方に向かって層厚が徐々に減少するグラデーション領域Grを形成する外側着色層6aが形成されている。また、外側着色層6aの外周側には、第1の着色樹脂R1からなる被覆層7が形成されている。
さらに、基材層5の内周側には、第2の着色樹脂R2からなる内側着色層6bが形成されている。このように、プリフォーム1は、グラデーション領域Grにおいて、外周側から内周側に向かって、被覆層7(第1の着色樹脂R1)/外側着色層6a(第2の着色樹脂R2)/基材層5(第1の着色樹脂R1)/内側着色層6b(第2の着色樹脂R2)となる4層構造になっている。なお、本実施形態に係るプリフォーム1は、22gの重量を有する飲料ボトル用のものであり、2軸延伸ブロー成形によって、例えば、266ml、542ml、579ml等のボトルを形成することができるものである。
かかる構成になるプリフォーム1は、以下の要領にて製造することができる。すなわち、プリフォーム1は、2層ゲートノズルを用い、プリフォーム1の底部2中央に対応して設けられたゲート内に第1の着色樹脂R1が充填された状態から、前記ゲートを介して、金型のキャビティ内に第1の着色樹脂R1を第1の所定時間に亘って射出すると共に、第2の着色樹脂R2を第2の所定時間に亘って射出することで形成されている。具体的には、図2に示すように、第1の所定時間の開始時点T1sを第2の所定時間の開始時点T2s以後とし、第1の所定時間の終了時点T1fを第2の所定時間の終了時点T2fより後とする。また、第2の着色樹脂R2の射出速度は、第1の着色樹脂R1の射出速度よりも速くする。
ここに、第1の所定時間は例えば7秒、第2の所定時間は例えば0.68秒、第2の所定時間の開始時点T2sに対する第1の所定時間の開始時点T1sの遅延時間は例えば0.1秒とすることができる。また、第2の着色樹脂R2の射出速度は例えば80mm/s、第1の着色樹脂R1の射出速度は例えば6mm/sとすることができる。
このような射出タイミング及び速度で第1の着色樹脂R1及び第2の着色樹脂R2を共射出成形することで、図3に示すように、樹脂R1,R2を流動させてプリフォーム1を得ることができる。すなわち、図3(a)に示すように、ゲート内に第1の着色樹脂R1が充填された状態から第2の着色樹脂R2の射出を開始し、第1の着色樹脂R1の射出を開始する前の時点Taでは、第2の着色樹脂R2が、ゲート内に充填されていた第1の着色樹脂R1を押出しつつ金型のキャビティ内を流動する。そして、第2の着色樹脂R2の射出が終了した時点T2fでは、図3(b)に示すように、キャビティの外周面におけるグラデーション領域Grに対応する領域が第1の着色樹脂R1に被覆された状態で、第2の着色樹脂R2が第1の着色樹脂R1の中央部を突き貫く。さらに、時点Tbになると、図3(c)に示すように、第1の着色樹脂R1が第2の着色樹脂R2の中央部を突き貫き、第2の着色樹脂R2を引き延ばしつつ流動し、第1の着色樹脂R1の射出が終了する時点T1fでは、図3(d)に示すように、前述したプリフォーム1の層構成を得ることができる。
以上説明した本実施形態に係るプリフォーム1によれば、プリフォーム1を2軸延伸ブロー成形することで、図4に示すような、外側着色層6aにより着色濃度に係るグラデーションが現出して加飾されたボトル8を得ることができる。本実施形態に係るボトル8によれば、第1の着色樹脂R1からなる基材層5の外周側に、第1の着色樹脂R1とは異なる色の第2の着色樹脂R2からなる外側着色層6aを形成したことで、グラデーション模様Gmを強調できると共に、外側着色層6aの外周側に第1の着色樹脂R1からなる被覆層7を形成したことで、外側着色層6aを薄い被覆層7で覆ってグラデーション模様Gmの濃淡の遷移を暈せるため、良好なグラデーション模様Gmを得ることができる。
なお、良好なグラデーション模様Gmを得るためには、第1の着色樹脂R1のIV値(固有粘度)は、0.5~0.63の範囲内とすることが好ましく、より好ましくは、0.6~0.63とする。
以上説明した実施形態に係るプリフォーム1及びボトル8は飲料用のものであったが、変形例として、例えば、図5及び図6に示すような、トイレタリー用のものとすることもできる。本変形例のボトル8’は、例えば重量50gのプリフォーム1’を2軸延伸ブロー成形することで得られるもので、例えば550mlの容量を有するものとすることができる。この場合も、前述した実施形態の場合と同様に、良好なグラデーション模様Gmを得ることができる。
前述したところは、本発明の一実施形態を示したにすぎず、特許請求の範囲において、種々の変更を加えることができる。例えば、第1の着色樹脂R1及び第2の着色樹脂R2は、その一方又は双方を、PETに代えて例えばPP(ポリプロピレン)としてもよい。また、第1の着色樹脂R1及び第2の着色樹脂R2は、着色不透明の他、目的に応じて着色透明とすることもできる。
