ヘッド移動装置およびヘッド昇降装置を自身の上部に支持する機械本体を有し、その機械本体の内部に、ツールマガジンが収容されるように構成され、
ツールマガジンを移動させるマガジン移動装置を有し、ツールの交換時に、ツールマガジンを機械本体の一側面から突出するように前進させ、複数のツールホルダのうちの交換に供されるものをヘッド移動装置によって主軸が移動させられる領域内に位置させるように構成されるとともに、
ツールマガジン全体を、マガジン移動装置によるそのツールマガジンの移動可能範囲を超えて機械本体の外部まで移動させ、機械本体から離脱させることが可能に構成されたことを特徴とする。
まず、本発明の一実施形態であるマシニングセンタが搭載される機械工作システムを説明する前に、そのシステムに関連する機械工作システム(以下、単に「関連システム」という場合がある)について説明する。その関連システムは、図1~図3に示すように、ベース10と、ベース10上に載置されて配列された4つの作業機モジュール(以下、単に「モジュール」という場合がある)12とを含んで構成されている。図1には、外装パネルが張られた状態のものを、図2には、外装パネルの一部が開放された状態のものを、図3には、外装パネルを外した状態のものが示されている。なお、以下の説明では、操作パネル14が設けられている側を正面側と呼び、そのシステムに関する「前後」,「左右」,「上下」を、システムの正面側から見た場合における前後,左右,上下として扱うこととする。つまり、4つのモジュール12が配列されている左右方向が、配列方向であり、前後方向が、配列方向と交差(直交)する方向である交差方向である。
上述したように、上記の関連システムは、各旋盤モジュール12がベース10から離脱するまでに引き出し可能とされており、他の作業機モジュールに交換すること、例えば、図6,図7に示した別の作業機モジュール50に交換することが可能である。この作業機モジュール50は、縦型マシニングセンタがモジュール化されたものであり、後に詳しく説明するが、ドリルやエンドミル等によってワークテーブルに固定保持されたワークW5に対して切削加工を行うものである。以下の説明において、この作業機モジュール50を、ドリミルモジュール50と呼ぶ場合がある。なお、このドリミルモジュール50が、本発明の実施形態のマシニングセンタである。
Claims (6)
- (A)ツールが取り付けられる主軸とその主軸を回転させる主軸回転装置とを有する主軸ヘッドと、(B)前記主軸ヘッドを上下方向に移動させるヘッド昇降装置と、(C)前記主軸ヘッドを互いに直交する2方向に移動させることで水平面に沿って移動させるヘッド移動装置と、(D)ワークを保持するワークテーブルと、(E)それぞれが前記主軸に取り付けられるツールを保持する複数のツールホルダを有して複数のツールを収納するツールマガジンとを備え、そのツールマガジンに収納された前記複数のツールのうちの1つと前記主軸に取り付けられているツールとを自動で交換可能とされたマシニングセンタであって、
前記ヘッド移動装置および前記ヘッド昇降装置を自身の上部に支持する機械本体を有し、その機械本体の内部に、前記ツールマガジンが収容されるように構成され、
前記ツールマガジンを移動させるマガジン移動装置を有し、ツールの交換時に、前記ツールマガジンを前記機械本体の一側面から突出するように前進させ、前記複数のツールホルダのうちの交換に供されるものを前記ヘッド移動装置によって前記主軸が移動させられる領域内に位置させるように構成されるとともに、
前記ツールマガジン全体を、前記マガジン移動装置によるそのツールマガジンの移動可能範囲を超えて前記機械本体の外部まで移動させ、前記機械本体から離脱させることが可能に構成されたマシニングセンタ。 - 前記マガジン移動装置が、
前記機械本体に設けられたガイドレールと、前記ツールマガジンに固定されて前記ガイドレールに沿って案内される被ガイド部とを含んで構成され、
当該マシニングセンタが、
前記ガイドレールを延長するための延長レールを有する仮置台を、前記ガイドレールを延長するようにして当該マシニングセンタに固定し、前記ツールマガジンを前記延長レールに沿って引き出すことで前記仮置台に移載させることが可能とされた請求項1に記載のマシニングセンタ。 - 当該マシニングセンタが、
前記仮置台を支持し、その仮置台を支持した状態で移動可能な台車を、当該マシニングセンタの傍らに前記延長レールによって前記ガイドレールを延長するようにして定置させ、前記ツールマガジンを前記延長レールに沿って引き出すことで前記仮置台に移載させることが可能とされた請求項2に記載のマシニングセンタ。 - 前記複数のツールホルダが、前記交差方向に長い長円に沿って配列されており、
前記ツールマガジンが、それら複数のツールホルダを周回させるツールホルダ周回機構を有する請求項1ないし請求項3のいずれか1つに記載のマシニングセンタ。 - 当該マシニングセンタが、
