  • a door gasket of the aforementioned kind has been disclosed, for example, in a patent document EP 1 763 286 Bl.
  • Said gasket is hollow and made of an elastic material and comprises a fin-like lip which is integrally formed at the outer surface of the gasket extending in the longitudinal direction thereof.
  • Said gasket have several disadvantages which may completely annihilate the function of the gasket. If the gasket is not placed correctly on the support edge, the sealing feature of the sealing lip is substantially lowered and, respectively, the gasket may be excessively folded in one direction leading to leaking of microwaves from the microwave oven. The form of the gasket hinder the cleaning, and the sealing edge tends to be damaged during cleaning resulting in steam and hot air, respectively, to leak from the apparatus.

  • Said fold 14 extends approximately perpendicular to the extension of the door 2, the free end thereof is averted from the heating compartment 4. Therefore, the gasket 1 according to the invention is placed on the free end of said fold 14 so that the web 6 of the gasket 1, when the latter installed, essentially rests against the free edge of said fold 14.

  • the sealing head 9 is deformed providing a relatively large sealing surface. Abstract

La présente invention concerne un appareil électroménager, tel qu'un four, un four à micro-ondes, une machine à laver la vaisselle, un réfrigérateur et similaire, comportant un compartiment pour recevoir des marchandises à traiter, et comportant une porte couvrant ledit compartiment pour recevoir des marchandises à traiter, un joint d'étanchéité étant disposé dans ladite porte pour assurer l'étanchéité entre ledit compartiment pour recevoir des marchandises à traiter et ladite porte qui ferme ledit compartiment à recevoir des marchandises à traiter. Un joint d'étanchéité selon l'invention ressemble à une forme essentiellement en U en coupe transversale et comprend une âme (6) et un premier rebord (7) et un second rebord (8), lesdits rebords étant disposés à peu près perpendiculairement à ladite âme, le second rebord (8) comportant à son extrémité libre une tête d'étanchéité creuse (9) et comportant à son côté opposé au premier rebord (7) au moins une lèvre d'étanchéité (10, 11).
