Description
本発明は、リードや半球状又は球状のボール端子などの延出端子を備える電子部品を撮像する部品撮像装置、及びこの部品撮像装置を用いた電子部品の表面実装機に関する。
電子部品をプリント配線板に実装する表面実装機では、電子部品の形状的な不具合、リードやボール端子の配列、さらにはリードの変形などを画像処理によって検出するために、電子部品を撮像する部品撮像装置が備えられている。この種の部品撮像装置は、電子部品の移動経路の下方に配置される照明部及び撮像部を備える。前記照明部は、電子部品本体の底面及びこの底面に対して垂直な方向に延び出すリードや半球状又は球状のボール端子を照明する。前記撮像部は、照明された電子部品からの反射光を受光する。この受光により得られる画像が、当該電子部品の認識画像となり、上記画像処理の対象となる。
上記照明部としては、撮像対象の電子部品に陰影が生じないよう、一般に無指向性の照明光を発する照明ユニットが用いられる。しかし、当該照明光を電子部品に照射した場合、その電子部品が全体的に光った認識画像が取得されてしまい、上記画像処理に基づく部品認識を困難にすることがある。例えば、リード付き電子部品のリード先端、若しくはボール端子付き電子部品のボール端子先端の認識画像を取得する際に、部品本体の底面や、リード付き電子部品の場合はリードの根元部分の光像が映り込み、前記リード先端若しくはボール端子先端の位置認識を困難にすることがある。
特許文献1には、ポリゴンミラーを用いて走査光をリード付き電子部品に照射し、光切断法により電子部品の三次元計測を行う機能を備えた部品実装装置が開示されている。この装置によれば、電子部品の三次元形状が把握されるのでリード先端位置の測定も可能であるが、三次元計測のための専用部材が必要となり、大掛かりで装置コストが増大する。
特許文献2には、電子部品の底面を照明する第1照明部に加え、水平に近い照射角度で電子部品のリードを照明する第2照明部を具備する部品実装装置が開示されている。この装置によれば、前記第2照明部のみを点灯させて撮像を行えば、電子部品の底面が映り込むことなくリード先端の認識画像を取得することができる。しかし、リードだけに照明光が照射されるよう前記第2照明部を配置する必要があり、照明器具の配置の自由度が著しく制限される問題がある。
なお、特許文献1や特許文献2に開示の技術に基づいて、ボール端子を備える電子部品のボール端子先端の認識画像を取得する場合にも、リード付き電子部品のリード先端の認識画像を取得する場合とそれぞれ同様の問題がある。
本発明は、リード先端位置やボール端子先端位置の測定が容易に行える認識画像を取得することができる部品撮像装置、及びこの部品撮像装置を用いた電子部品の表面実装機を提供することを目的とする。
本発明の一局面に係る部品撮像装置は、部品本体と、前記部品本体から延出された延出端子とを備え、前記延出端子が前記部品本体の底面に対して垂直な方向に延びる延出端子先端を備える電子部品の、前記延出端子先端を撮像する機能を備えた部品撮像装置であって、前記部品本体の底面を貫く第1方向に撮像光軸が配置され、該撮像光軸に沿って予め定められた撮像領域を持つ撮像部と、前記撮像光軸に対して傾斜し且つ前記撮像光軸と交差する照明光軸を持ち、該照明光軸に沿って指向性を有する照明光を照射する照明部と、前記撮像部及び前記照明部を制御して、前記撮像光軸と前記照明光軸との交差によって形成される、前記撮像領域と前記照明光とが交差する前記検出領域を通過する前記延出端子先端の認識画像を取得させる制御部と、を備える。
本発明の他の局面に係る表面実装機は、実装用部品を保持する部品保持部材と、前記部品保持部材を上下方向に昇降する昇降機構と、前記部品保持部材を水平方向に移動する移動装置とを有し、部品供給部から前記実装用部品を運搬し基板に実装する実装部と、前記電子部品として、前記部品保持部材に保持された前記実装用部品を撮像する上記の部品撮像装置と、前記撮像部によって撮像された前記実装用部品の画像に基づいて、前記実装用部品の前記延出端子先端の位置を検出する検出部と、前記実装用部品の前記延出端子先端の位置の検出結果に基づき、基板への水平方向の実装位置を調整する制御装置と、を備える。
本発明の目的、特徴及び利点は、以下の詳細な説明と添付図面とによって、より明白となる。
以下、本発明に係る部品撮像装置および表面実装機の実施形態を、図面に基づいて詳細に説明する。この実施形態においては、本発明に係る部品撮像装置を表面実装機に組付けた場合の一例について説明する。
表面実装機1は、基台2、搬送部3、部品供給部4、部品移動部5(実装部)及び検出部10を備える。基台2は、平面視において四角形に形成され、表面実装機1の各部を支持する。搬送部3は、基台2の上を図1の左右方向(X方向)に横切るように設けられ、プリント配線板7(基板)を搬送する。部品供給部4は、搬送部3を挟むように基台2の両端部に設けられ、プリント配線板7に実装する電子部品(実装用部品)を供給する。部品移動部5は、基台2の上方に設けられ、電子部品を部品供給部4から搬送部3上のプリント配線板7に向けて運搬すると共に、該電子部品をプリント配線板7に実装する。検出部10は、後述する部品撮像装置11によって電子部品を撮像し、該撮像によって得られた認識画像に基づいて電子部品の認識、或いは電子部品のリード先端位置の検出を行う。なお、図1では、搬送部3が延びる方向(プリント配線板7の搬送方向)をX方向、このX方向と直交する水平方向をY方向と表示している。
搬送部3は、Y方向に間隔を置いて配置された一対のコンベア6によって構成されている。一対のコンベア6は、ベルトコンベアからなり、プリント配線板7のY方向両端を支持しながら、当該プリント配線板7をX方向に搬送する。部品供給部4には、電子部品供給装置が取付けられる。図1では、前記電子部品供給装置として多数のテープフィーダー12が装着されている例を示している。コンベア6の側方と部品供給部4との間に、部品撮像装置11が配置されている。
部品移動部5は、Yレールユニット13、Xレールユニット14及びヘッドユニット15を含む。Yレールユニット13は、基台2のX方向の両端部上に一対で搬送部3を跨いで設けられている。Xレールユニット14は、Yレールユニット13によってY方向に移動自在に支持されている。ヘッドユニット15は、Xレールユニット14によってX方向に移動自在に支持されている。ヘッドユニット15は、複数の吸着ヘッド(図示せず)を備えている。
これらの吸着ヘッドは、その下端面から突出自在な吸着ノズル16(部品保持部材;図3参照)と、後述する吸着ヘッド用駆動装置20(図12参照)とを備える。前記吸着ヘッドは、この吸着ノズル16によって電子部品を吸着し保持するとともに、基板2の上方近傍位置で前記吸着を解除して電子部品を基板2に実装する機能とを有する。さらに前記吸着ヘッドは、吸着ヘッド用駆動装置20によって吸着ノズル16を上下方向に昇降させる機能と、吸着ノズル16を上下方向の軸線を中心として回転させる機能とを有している。ヘッドユニット15は、Yレールユニット13及びXレールユニット14によってY方向及びX方向に移動自在であるので、吸着ノズル16は水平方向の所望の位置へも自在に移動することができる。
部品撮像装置11は、吸着ノズル16に吸着された電子部品を下方から撮像し、当該電子部品の認識画像を取得する。図2は、部品撮像装置11の全体斜視図、図3は、部品撮像装置11の構成を概略的に示す模式図である。部品撮像装置11は、ハウジング30と、該ハウジング30内に収容されたカメラ31(撮像部)及びレンズユニット33と、ハウジング30の天板30Tの上に載置され無指向性の照明光を発する照明ユニット35と、照明ユニット35の上周縁に取り付けられ指向性の照明光を発するレーザー照明ユニット40(照明部)とを備える。
部品撮像装置11において撮像対象とされる電子部品は、例えば、DIP(Dual inline Package)のような、パッケージ部分から多数のリードが下方に突出している半導体部品や、QFP(Quad Flat Package)のような、パッケージ部分から多数のリードがパッケージ部分の側方に延びた後下方に曲げられて下方に突出している半導体部品、BGA(Ball Grid Allay)のような、パッケージ部分の底面から球状あるいは半球状のボール端子が下方に突出している半導体部品である。図2及び図3では、直方体の形状を有する部品本体Bと、この部品本体Bの側面から延出されたリードLとを備える電子部品17を例示している。リードLは、部品本体Bの平坦な底面Baに対して垂直方向下方に延びるリード先端La(図4)を備える。この他、CSP(Chip size package)なども撮像対象とされる。電子部品17は、吸着ノズル16に吸着された状態で部品撮像装置11の上空を通過するようにX方向に移動され、部品撮像装置11は前記通過の際に当該電子部品17の画像を取得する。
カメラ31には、照明ユニット35又はレーザー照明ユニット40によって照明された電子部品の光像が入射される。カメラ31はラインセンサ32を備え、該ラインセンサ32が前記光像を電気信号に変換する。ラインセンサ32の撮像素子配列方向は、Y方向である。カメラ31の撮像光軸A2は、部品本体Bの底面Baを貫く方向であるZ方向(第1方向)に配置されている。なお、撮像光軸A2はZ方向に対して傾いて配置されていても良い。
レンズユニット33は、結像レンズ(図略)を備え、電子部品17の光像をラインセンサ32の受光面に結像させる。
照明ユニット35は、電子部品17を、その下方側の全方向から照明するための照明装置である。照明ユニット35は、上面視で八角形のドーム型の形状を備え、その内壁面に多数個の照明用LEDが実装されている。各LEDは、概ね撮像光軸A2を指向している。結果として照明ユニット35は、撮像光軸A2の全周囲から撮像光軸A2に向けて照明光35Lを発する。この照明ユニット35が動作するとき、撮像光軸A2を横切って通過する電子部品17には、無指向性の照明光35Lが照射されることになる。
レーザー照明ユニット40は、撮像光軸A2に対して傾斜し且つ撮像光軸A2と交差する照明光軸A1を持ち、該照明光軸A1に沿って指向性を有する照明光40Lを照射する。レーザー照明ユニット40は、レーザー光を発するレーザー素子を備える光源ユニット41と、前記レーザー光を線状の平行光に変換して出力する光学系ユニット42とを含む。前記レーザー素子としては、半導体レーザーが好適に用いられる。光学系ユニット42としては、シリンドリカルレンズを含むユニットを例示することができる。
無指向性の照明光35Lを発する照明ユニット35は、部品撮像装置11がリードを備えない汎用部品の認識画像を取得する際に専ら使用される。一方、指向性の照明光40Lを発するレーザー照明ユニット40は、部品撮像装置11が下方に伸び出すリードLを備えた電子部品17、特にリードLのリード先端Laの認識画像を取得する際に使用される。これは、リード先端Laの撮像の際、無指向性の照明光35Lを用いると、その認識画像にリード先端Laだけでなく、それ以外の部分も映り込んでしまい、正確なリード先端Laの位置認識が行えない場合があるからである。以下、この点について詳述する。
図4は、本発明の基本実施形態に係る部品撮像装置11による、電子部品17のリード先端Laの撮像状況を示す図である。図4では、電子部品17が矢印A3方向(X方向)に移動するものとしている。カメラ31は、撮像光軸A2に沿って、電子部品17を移動により通過させるZ方向の高さ領域に、予め定められた撮像領域31Aを持つ。この撮像領域31Aは、移動する電子部品17の光像が、図4に示したラインセンサ32の撮像素子の上に結像するように、且つ所望の緻密さで画像が得られるように、レンズユニット33の光学的仕様とZ方向配置位置、および撮像素子の大きさによって定められる。レーザー照明ユニット40は、撮像光軸A2を斜方向に横切る照明光軸A1に沿って、線状の平行光からなる照明光40Lを照射する。
上記の通り照明光40Lの照射方向を設定することで、撮像光軸A2上の一部領域である撮像領域31Aと照明光40Lとが交差する領域が生じる。この交差領域が、認識画像を取得できる検出領域となる。換言すると、この検出領域において照明されている部分であって、鉛直下方からみて光っている部分だけが、カメラ31によって光像として認識されることになる。
撮像光軸A2と照明光軸A1との交差点(ポイントp1)は、電子部品17の検出対象となる部分に合わせ込まれる。本実施形態では、検出対象となる部分は、リードLのリード先端Laである。前記交差点を含む電子部品17の移動方向A3の水平面が、電子部品17に対する認識面となる。照明光40Lは、電子部品17の斜め下方から前記交差点に向けて発せられる。従って、照明光40Lは、撮像領域31A内に存在するリードLのリード先端La(ポイントp1)を照明する。
照明光軸A1は、リードLのみを照明できるように、水平に近い角度には設定されていない。このため、照明光40Lは、撮像領域31A内のリードLに隣接する他のリードLの上下方向中間部(ポイントp2)、及び、前記他のリードに隣接するさらに他のリードLの根元部分(ポイントp3)を照明する。従って、ポイントp1、p2、p3において反射光が発生する。しかしながら、カメラ31に入射する反射光は、ポイントp1からの反射光だけである。つまり、照明光40Lは、指向性を有する光であって斜め方向から投光されるものであり、撮像領域31A内において該照明光40Lによって照明される部分(検出領域)を通過するのは、ポイントp1のリード先端Laのみである。このため、カメラ31は、リード先端Laの光像を良好なコントラストで撮像することができる。因みに、電子部品17の矢印A3方向への搬送が図4の状態より僅かに進行し、ポイントp2の照明部分が撮像領域31A内に入ったとしても、その反射光はカメラ31には入射されない。リードLが鉛直下方に延び、カメラ31はリードLの鉛直下方に配置されているからである。なお、照明光40Lの照射方向を本実施形態の通り設定することで、交差領域は水平にY方向に伸びている(図3参照)。図3に示す通り、電子部品17の両側のリード17のリードL(リード先端La)が、電子部品17の矢印A3(図4)の1回の移動のみで、Y方向に撮像素子が並べられたラインセンサ32により撮像される。
図5は、比較例に係る部品撮像装置による、電子部品17のリード先端Laの撮像状況を示す図である。ここでは、照明ユニット35が発する無指向性の照明光35Lを用いて、リード先端Laの撮像を行う場合を例示している。この場合、照明光35Lは、電子部品17のリードL及び部品本体Bの底面Baを満遍なく照明する。このため、カメラ31の撮像領域が図4と同様に制限されているとしても、当該撮像領域に存在する全ての反射光がカメラ31に入射してしまう。具体的には、リードLのリード先端La(ポイントp1)の反射光だけでなく、リードLの根元の幅広部分(ポイントp41、p42)からの反射光もカメラ31に入射する。このため、カメラ31は、リード先端Laの光像のみを良好なコントラストで撮像することができない。従って、当該撮像によって取得された認識画像からリード先端Laの位置を認識することが困難となる。
図6~図9に、無指向性の照明光35Lを用いた場合に、リード先端Laの認識が困難となる傾向がある電子部品の例を示す。図6(A)は、L字型のリードL1を備えた電子部品171の側面図、図6(B)はその底面図である。リードL1は、部品本体B1の側面から水平に延び出した根元部L11と、根元部L11の突出先端から底面Ba1に対して垂直下方に延びる垂下部L12とからなる。このような電子部品171に照明光35Lを照射した場合、リード先端La1だけでなく、根元部L11も光ってしまう。このため、認識画像には、リード先端La1の光像に加え、根元部L11の光像が映り込んでしまうことになる。
図7(A)は、リード幅が変化しているL字型のリードL2を備えた電子部品172の側面図、図7(B)は、異なるアングルの側面図、図7(C)はその底面図である。リードL2は、幅広のリード幅を有する根元部L21と、狭幅のリード幅を有する突出部L22とからなる。根元部L21は、部品本体B2の側面から水平に延び出し、下方へ折り曲げられたL字型の形状を有する。突出部L22は、根元部L21の先端に連なって底面Ba2に対して垂直下方に延びている。このような電子部品172に照明光35Lを照射した場合、リード先端La2だけでなく、根元部L21の水平部分、及び、根元部L21と突出部L22との境界の段差部分も光ってしまう。
図8(A)は、T字型のリードL3を備えた電子部品173の側面図、図8(B)はその底面図である。リードL3は、部品本体B3の側面から水平に延び出した根元部L31と、根元部L31の中間位置から底面Ba3に対して垂直下方に延びる垂下部L32とからなる。このような電子部品173に照明光35Lを照射した場合、リード先端La3だけでなく、根元部L31も光ってしまう。
図9(A)は、直線状のリードL4を備えた電子部品174の側面図、図9(B)はその底面図である。リードL4は、部品本体B4の底面Ba4から直接垂直下方に延び出している。このような電子部品172に照明光35Lを照射した場合、リード先端La4だけでなく、平坦な底面Ba4が鏡面状に光ってしまう。
指向性の照明光40Lを用いた場合(図4;本実施形態)と、無指向性の照明光35Lとを用いた場合(図5;比較例)との比較のため、実際の電子部品の撮像例を示す。図10は、撮像対象とされた電子部品17の一例の写真である。この電子部品17は、図4及び図5において例示した電子部品17と同じものである。リードLは、部品本体Bの側面から底面Baに対して垂直下方に延び出し、幅広のリード幅を有する根元部分LBと、狭幅のリード幅を有する突出部LTとを備えている。タイプとしては、図7に示したタイプと同じである。
図11(A)は、比較例の構成により取得された認識画像、図11(B)は、本実施形態により取得された認識画像の写真である。比較例の認識画像では、根元部LB、及び、根元部LBと突出部LTとの境界の段差部分が強く光って映っており、部品本体Bの底面Baも弱く光って映り込んでしまっている。このため、リード先端Laの位置を認識するには困難性を伴う。例えば、識別画像上での「白」と「黒」とを判別する閾値を当該電子部品独自に設定した上での画像処理を実行しないと、リード先端Laの位置認識ができない。これに対し、本実施形態の認識画像では、黒地の背景画像に白い点状のリード先端Laの光像だけが明瞭なコントラストで映っている。従って、リード先端Laの位置認識を、簡易な画像処理にて完遂することができる。
続いて、表面実装機1の制御構成について、図12のブロック図に基づいて説明する。表面実装機1は、当該表面実装機1の各部の動作を制御する制御装置8(制御部)、Xレールユニット用駆動装置18、ヘッドユニット用駆動装置19及び吸着ヘッド用駆動装置20をさらに備えている。Xレールユニット用駆動装置18は、Xレールユニット14(図1)をYレールユニット13上においてY方向に移動させる駆動力を発生する。ヘッドユニット用駆動装置19は、ヘッドユニット15をXレールユニット14上においてX方向に移動させる駆動力を発生する。吸着ヘッド用駆動装置20は、ヘッドユニット15に備えられている各吸着ヘッドにおいて吸着ノズルを昇降させたり、上下方向の軸線を中心として回転させたりする駆動力を発生する。これらの駆動装置18、19は、本発明の「移動機構」の一部を構成し、吸着ヘッド用駆動装置20は本発明の「昇降機構」を構成する。
制御装置8は、主制御部21、記憶部22、軸制御部23、コンベア制御部24、カメラ制御部25、照明制御部26及び画像処理部27を機能的に備えている。主制御部21は、表面実装機1における各種の制御を統合的に行う。本実施形態において主制御部21は、特に、軸制御部23、カメラ制御部25及び照明制御部26を各々制御することにより、部品移動部5によって電子部品17(リード先端La)が上述の検出領域を通過するように移動させると共に、カメラ31及び照明ユニット35又はレーザー照明ユニット40を動作させて、電子部品17又はリード先端Laの認識画像を取得する制御を行う。
記憶部22は、プリント配線板7や電子部品17に関する各種の情報を記憶する。電子部品17に関する情報は、例えば、電子部品の種別、リードLの本数や配列、リード先端Laの高さ位置などの情報である。
軸制御部23は、Xレールユニット用駆動装置18、ヘッドユニット用駆動装置19及び吸着ヘッド用駆動装置20を制御することによって、Xレールユニット14、ヘッドユニット15及び前記吸着ヘッドの動作を制御する。コンベア制御部24は、搬送部3を構成する一対のコンベア6の動作及び停止を制御することで、プリント配線板7の搬送を制御する。
カメラ制御部25は、カメラ31の撮像動作を制御する。例えばカメラ制御部25は、カメラ31のシャッタータイミング、シャッター速度(露光量)などを制御する。
照明制御部26は、照明ユニット35及びレーザー照明ユニット40の発光動作を制御する。照明制御部26は、テープフィーダー12から取り出された電子部品について、記憶部22を参照して部品情報を取得し、照明ユニット35又はレーザー照明ユニット40のいずれを点灯させるかを判定する。そして、照明制御部26は、選択された照明ユニットを所定のルーチンで動作させる。
画像処理部27は、カメラ31(ラインセンサ32)により取得された認識画像に対して公知の画像処理技術を適用して、当該認識画像から各種の検査情報を抽出する。例えば、画像処理部27により抽出された検査情報に基づいて、電子部品17の吸着ノズル16による吸着ズレ、リードLの曲がりが許容範囲内であるか否かの判別、リード先端Laの浮きが許容範囲内であるか否かの判別等が行われる。
図13は、本実施形態の部品撮像装置11による部品認識動作のフローチャートである。ここでは、電子部品17の吸着ノズル16による吸着ズレを求める場合について例示している。まず、照明制御部26により、認識画像を取得する対象とされる電子部品(ヘッドユニット15で搬送されている電子部品)が、部品自体の認識であるか、或いは電子部品17のリード先端Laの認識であるかが判定される(ステップS1)。リードLを有する電子部品17は、複数のリード先端Laがプリント配線板7のリード孔に挿入されて実装されるので、電子部品17の吸着ズレは、吸着ノズル16に対するリード先端Laの正しい位置からのズレ量により定まることになり、リード先端Laの認識が必要となる。一方、リードLを有さない電子部品17は、電子部品17の中心を所定の実装位置に一致するようにして実装されるので、電子部品17の吸着ズレは、吸着ノズル16に対する部品自体の正しい位置からのズレ量により定まることになり、部品自体の認識が必要となる。
部品自体の認識である場合、照明制御部26は無指向性の照明光35Lを発する照明ユニット35を点灯させる。また、カメラ制御部25は、カメラ31に撮像動作を実行させる(ステップS2)。そして、カメラ31により取得された認識画像を画像処理部27が解析することにより、電子部品の吸着ズレが求められる(ステップS3)。
これに対し、リード先端Laの認識である場合、照明制御部25は指向性の照明光40Lを発するレーザー照明ユニット40を点灯させる。また、カメラ制御部25は、カメラ31に撮像動作を実行させる(ステップS4)。そして、カメラ31により取得された認識画像を画像処理部27が解析することにより、リード先端Laの位置情報に基づいて、電子部品の吸着ズレが求められる(ステップS5)。
以下、本発明の各種実施形態を例示する。図14~図18に示す第1~第3実施形態は、長さの異なるリードLを有する電子部品17の認識画像を取得する場合の各種実施形態を、図19~図22に示す第4~第7実施形態は、リードLの検出幅を可変とする場合の各種実施形態を示す。
<第1実施形態>
図14(A)及び図15(A)は、第1実施形態に係る部品撮像装置による撮像状況を示す図、図14(B)及び図15(B)は、各々の撮像で取得された認識画像を示す図、図15(C)は合成認識画像を示す図である。第1実施形態において撮像対象となる電子部品175は、部品本体B5と、該部品本体B5の底面から下方(図10では上方)への突出高さが異なる第1リードL51及び第2リードL2とを含む。第1実施形態では、基本実施形態の装置構成及び図12に示した制御装置8を用いて、ソフトウェア的に当該電子部品175の撮像に対応する例を示す。
図14(A)及び図15(A)は、第1実施形態に係る部品撮像装置による撮像状況を示す図、図14(B)及び図15(B)は、各々の撮像で取得された認識画像を示す図、図15(C)は合成認識画像を示す図である。第1実施形態において撮像対象となる電子部品175は、部品本体B5と、該部品本体B5の底面から下方(図10では上方)への突出高さが異なる第1リードL51及び第2リードL2とを含む。第1実施形態では、基本実施形態の装置構成及び図12に示した制御装置8を用いて、ソフトウェア的に当該電子部品175の撮像に対応する例を示す。
第1リードL51は、そのリード先端La51のZ方向(第1方向)における前記突出高さが、比較的高い位置(第1位置)にある長尺のリードである。一方、第2リードL52は、そのリード先端La52の前記突出高さが、比較的低い位置(第2位置)にある短尺のリードである。このような第1リードL51及び第2リードL2が、部品本体B5の両側面に水平方向に並んでいる。
当該電子部品175の撮像において、主制御部21は、第1リードL51のリード先端La51の認識画像を取得させる第1認識動作と、第2リードL52のリード先端La52の認識画像を取得させる第2認識動作とを実行する。つまり、主制御部21は、リードの突出高さ種別に応じた回数の認識動作を実行する。前記第1認識動作では、図14(A)に示すように、カメラ31の撮像光軸A2に沿った撮像領域とレーザー照明ユニット40の照明光40Lとが交差する検出領域(認識面)を、第1リードL51のリード先端La51が通過するように、吸着ノズル16(部品保持部材)によって保持された電子部品175の高さが吸着ヘッド用駆動装置20(昇降機構)によって調整された後、電子部品175がヘッドユニット15によって移動される。前記第2認識動作では、図15(A)に示すように、前記検出領域(認識面)を、第2リードL52のリード先端La52が通過するように、吸着ノズル16によって保持された電子部品175の高さが吸着ヘッド用駆動装置20によって移動調整された後、電子部品175がヘッドユニット15によって移動される。
前記第1認識動作で取得される認識画像は、図14(B)に示すように、第1リードL51のリード先端La51の光像I-La51だけが映る画像となる。破線I-B5は、部品本体B5の外形に相当する部分を示すが、この部分は前記認識面から外れており、認識画像に映り込むことはない。リード先端La52も同様である。また、前記第2認識動作で取得される認識画像は、図15(B)に示すように、第2リードL52のリード先端La52の光像I-La52だけが映る画像となる。図14(B)の認識画像と図15(B)の認識画像とを合成することにより、図15(C)に示すような、光像I-La51及び光像I-La52の双方が映り込んだ、1の認識画像を作成することができる。
図16は、第1実施形態において制御装置8が実行する部品認識処理のフローチャートである。主制御部21が電子部品の部品認識処理を開始すると、記憶部22から電子部品の部品情報、具体的には部品種別、リードの本数や配列、突出高さが読み出される(ステップS11)。電子部品が、例えば突出高さの異なるリードを備える電子部品175であって、リード先端の認識画像を取得する場合、照明制御部26はレーザー照明ユニット40を点灯させる。また、軸制御部23は、ヘッドユニット用駆動装置19を制御して、図14(A)に示すように、第1リードL51のリード先端La51と前記認識面とが合致するよう、吸着ノズル16のZ方向位置(ヘッド下降位置)を設定する(ステップS12)。
その後、ヘッドユニット15によって電子部品175がX方向に移動されつつ、カメラ制御部25及び照明制御部26によりカメラ31及びレーザー照明ユニット40が動作されて、リード先端La51の認識画像を撮像する動作が実行される(ステップS13;第1認識動作)。この撮像動作により取得される認識画像は、図14(B)に示すリード先端La51の光像I-La51だけを含む画像である。
主制御部21は、次いで電子部品175において他に認識すべき、突出高さの異なるリード先端が存在するか否かを判定する(ステップS14)。この場合、第2リードL52が残存しているので(ステップS14でYES)、主制御部21は、リード先端La52のための撮像動作を行うことを決定する(ステップS15)。そして、軸制御部23により、図15(A)に示すように、リード先端La52と前記認識面とが合致するよう、吸着ノズル16のZ方向位置(ヘッド下降位置)が設定される(ステップS12)。その後、リード先端La52の認識画像を撮像する動作が実行される(ステップS13;第2認識動作)。この撮像動作により取得される認識画像は、図15(B)に示すリード先端La52の光像I-La52だけを含む画像である。
電子部品175において他に認識すべき突出高さの異なるリード先端が存在しない場合(ステップS14でNO)、続いて画像処理部27により、ステップS13における複数の撮像動作で得られた複数の認識画像を合成する画像処理が行われ、1の認識画像が形成される。電子部品175の場合、前記第1、第2認識動作で取得された認識画像が合成され、図15(C)に示す合成認識画像が作成される。さらに画像処理部27は、当該合成認識画像に基づいて、リードの曲がりや浮き等を評価するパラメータ、及び吸着ノズル16による吸着状態の妥当性を評価するパラメータ等を求める。主制御部21は、これらのパラメータに基づいて、電子部品175がプリント配線板7に実装可能か否かを判定する(ステップS16)。
以上説明した第1実施形態によれば、突出高さが異なる第1、第2リードL51、L52のリード先端La1、La2の認識画像が各々取得され、これを合成して1の認識画像が形成される。従って、画像を取得する領域を、照明光40Lとカメラ31の撮像領域とが交差する検出領域に限定している本発明に係る部品撮像装置であっても、突出高さの異なるリードを有する電子部品175のリード先端La1、La2の認識画像を確実に取得することができる。突出高さが異なるリードが3種以上存在する場合においても、電子部品175のZ方向高さを種別毎に変更し、リード先端を認識面に一致させた複数回の認識動作で取得された認識画像を合成する画像処理が行われる。
<第2実施形態>
図17(A)及び図17(B)は、第2実施形態に係る部品撮像装置による撮像状況を示す図である。第2実施形態では、ハード的な工夫により、突出高さが異なる第1リードL51及び第2リードL2を備える電子部品175の撮像に対応する例を示す。基本実施形態及び第1実施形態では、1つのレーザー照明ユニット40が配置される例を示した。第2実施形態の部品撮像装置は、Z方向(第1方向)における高さ位置を異ならせて配置された第1レーザー照明ユニット401(一の高さ位置の照明部)及び第2レーザー照明ユニット402(他の高さ位置の照明部)を備えている。
図17(A)及び図17(B)は、第2実施形態に係る部品撮像装置による撮像状況を示す図である。第2実施形態では、ハード的な工夫により、突出高さが異なる第1リードL51及び第2リードL2を備える電子部品175の撮像に対応する例を示す。基本実施形態及び第1実施形態では、1つのレーザー照明ユニット40が配置される例を示した。第2実施形態の部品撮像装置は、Z方向(第1方向)における高さ位置を異ならせて配置された第1レーザー照明ユニット401(一の高さ位置の照明部)及び第2レーザー照明ユニット402(他の高さ位置の照明部)を備えている。
第1、第2レーザー照明ユニット401、402は、撮像光軸A2に対して同じ角度で交差する照明光軸を持ち、該照明光軸に沿って指向性の照明光401L、402Lを各々照射する。撮像光軸A2と照明光401Lの照明光軸との交差点を含む水平な認識面に、第1リードL51のリード先端La1の高さ位置を合わせることで、照明光401Lは、第1リードL51のリード先端La1をターゲットとして照射される。また、撮像光軸A2と照明光402Lの照明光軸との交差点を含む水平な認識面に、第2リードL52のリード先端La2の高さ位置を合わせることで、照明光402Lは、第2リードL52のリード先端La2をターゲットとして照射される。第2実施形態の部品撮像装置の制御構成は、例えば、図12に示す制御装置8を適用し、第1、第2レーザー照明ユニット401、402の点灯動作を、照明制御部26に制御させる構成とすることができる。
主制御部21は、第1実施形態と同様に、第1リードL51のリード先端La51の認識画像を取得させる第1認識動作と、第2リードL52のリード先端La52の認識画像を取得させる第2認識動作とを実行する。前記第1認識動作の際、図17(A)に示すように、照明制御部26は、第1レーザー照明ユニット401を動作させる一方で第2レーザー照明ユニット402を停止させる。これにより、リード先端La51のみが照明光401Lによって照明される状態となり、当該第1認識動作においてリード先端La51の光像だけを含む認識画像が取得される。
次いで、前記第2認識動作の際、図17(B)に示すように、照明制御部26は、第2レーザー照明ユニット402を動作させる一方で第1レーザー照明ユニット401を停止させる。これにより、第2リードL52のリード先端La52のみが照明光402Lによって照明される状態となり、当該第2認識動作においてリード先端La52の光像だけを含む認識画像が取得される。その後、画像処理部27の画像処理により、前記第1、第2認識動作で取得された認識画像が合成され、図15(C)に示した画像と同様な合成認識画像が作成される。
上記第2実施形態によれば、照明光が互いに平行な第1レーザー照明ユニット401と第2レーザー照明ユニット402の各照明部の高さ方向の差(一の高さ位置と他の高さ位置との差の絶対値)に対して、第1リードL51のリード先端La51の高さ位置と第2リードL52のリード先端La52の高さ位置との差の絶対値が一致する場合には、撮像光軸A2と照明光401Lの照明光軸との交差点を含む水平な認識面に、第1リードL51のリード先端La1の高さ位置を合わせれば、撮像光軸A2と照明光402Lの照明光軸との交差点を含む水平な認識面に、第2リードL52のリード先端La2の高さ位置が一致することになる。従って、第1実施形態のような、リード先端の突出高さに応じた吸着ノズル16のZ方向位置調整が不要となる。そして、照明光401Lと照明光402Lの両方を照射しつつ、ヘッドユニット15によって電子部品175をX方向に移動させる1回の認識動作で、リード先端La1およびリード先端La2の認識画像が取得される。
<第3実施形態>
図18(A)及び図18(B)は、第3実施形態に係る部品撮像装置による撮像状況を示す図である。この第3実施形態でも、ハード的な工夫により、突出高さが異なる第1リードL51及び第2リードL2を備える電子部品175の撮像に対応する例を示す。第3実施形態の部品撮像装置は、1つのレーザー照明ユニット40で構成される点で第1実施形態と同じであるが、レーザー照明ユニット40がZ方向に移動させる機構を備える点で異なる。
図18(A)及び図18(B)は、第3実施形態に係る部品撮像装置による撮像状況を示す図である。この第3実施形態でも、ハード的な工夫により、突出高さが異なる第1リードL51及び第2リードL2を備える電子部品175の撮像に対応する例を示す。第3実施形態の部品撮像装置は、1つのレーザー照明ユニット40で構成される点で第1実施形態と同じであるが、レーザー照明ユニット40がZ方向に移動させる機構を備える点で異なる。
第3実施形態の部品撮像装置は、レーザー照明ユニット40を支持する支持部材51と、支持部材51を移動させることで、レーザー照明ユニット40のZ方向における高さ位置を調整する昇降装置52(照明部昇降機構)とを備えている。第3実施形態の部品撮像装置の制御構成は、例えば、図12に示す制御装置8を適用し、昇降装置52の動作を、軸制御部23に制御させる構成とすることができる。
主制御部21は、第1実施形態と同様に、第1リードL51のリード先端La51の認識画像を取得させる第1認識動作と、第2リードL52のリード先端La52の認識画像を取得させる第2認識動作とを実行する。前記第1認識動作の際、図18(A)に示すように、撮像光軸A2と第1リードL51のリード先端La51の移動経路である水平線との交点をターゲットとして照明光40Lを照射するように、昇降装置52は支持部材51のZ方向位置を設定する。これにより、リード先端La51のみが指向性の照明光40Lによって照明される状態となり、当該第1認識動作においてリード先端La51の光像だけを含む認識画像が取得される。
次いで、前記第2認識動作の際、図18(B)に示すように、昇降装置52は、撮像光軸A2と第2リードL52のリード先端La52の移動経路である水平線との交点をターゲットとして照明光40Lを照射できる位置に、支持部材51をZ方向に移動させる。これにより、リード先端La52のみが照明光40Lによって照明される状態となり、当該第2認識動作においてリード先端La52の光像だけを含む認識画像が取得される。その後、画像処理部27の画像処理により、前記第1、第2認識動作で取得された認識画像が合成され、図15(C)に示した画像と同様な合成認識画像が作成される。
<第4実施形態>
以下、電子部品17のリードLの検出幅(リード検出幅)を調整するための、各種の検出幅調整機構を備える部品撮像装置を例示する。ここでリード検出幅とは、正常なリードLのリード先端Laから根元に向かう方向において、リードLを撮像する領域として設定される範囲を指す。例えば、リード先端La近傍の短い範囲をリード検出幅として設定すると、リードLに僅かな曲がりや浮きが存在しているだけで、リード先端Laは認識面から外れるので、そのリードLはリード検出幅から外れてしまう。従って、その認識画像に当該リードLのリード先端Laは映らなくなり、その電子部品17は実装不能と判定されることになる。これに対し、リード先端Laから比較的長い範囲をリード検出幅として設定すると、リードLに僅かな曲がりや浮きが生じていても当該リードLのリード先端Laは認識画像に映り込む。このように、リード検出幅を調整することで、リードの不良許容度合い、例えばリードの曲がりの許容範囲スペックに応じた検査を行うことが可能となる。なお、撮像光軸A2の一部領域である撮像領域31Aと照明光40Lとが交差する領域が認識画像を取得できる検出領域であり、リード検出幅は検出領域により設定される。すなわち、照明光40Lが撮像領域31Aと交差する点を上下方向に広げることができれば、リード先端Laの認識のための前記交差する点を含む認識面が上下方向に広がることになり、リード検出幅を広げることができる。
以下、電子部品17のリードLの検出幅(リード検出幅)を調整するための、各種の検出幅調整機構を備える部品撮像装置を例示する。ここでリード検出幅とは、正常なリードLのリード先端Laから根元に向かう方向において、リードLを撮像する領域として設定される範囲を指す。例えば、リード先端La近傍の短い範囲をリード検出幅として設定すると、リードLに僅かな曲がりや浮きが存在しているだけで、リード先端Laは認識面から外れるので、そのリードLはリード検出幅から外れてしまう。従って、その認識画像に当該リードLのリード先端Laは映らなくなり、その電子部品17は実装不能と判定されることになる。これに対し、リード先端Laから比較的長い範囲をリード検出幅として設定すると、リードLに僅かな曲がりや浮きが生じていても当該リードLのリード先端Laは認識画像に映り込む。このように、リード検出幅を調整することで、リードの不良許容度合い、例えばリードの曲がりの許容範囲スペックに応じた検査を行うことが可能となる。なお、撮像光軸A2の一部領域である撮像領域31Aと照明光40Lとが交差する領域が認識画像を取得できる検出領域であり、リード検出幅は検出領域により設定される。すなわち、照明光40Lが撮像領域31Aと交差する点を上下方向に広げることができれば、リード先端Laの認識のための前記交差する点を含む認識面が上下方向に広がることになり、リード検出幅を広げることができる。
また、電子部品17の種類によって、リードLの突出高さが異なる場合がある。例えば、リードLの突出高さが短い電子部品である場合、リード検出幅がリードLの突出高さに対して広幅に設定されていると、部品本体Bの底面が光った認識画像が撮像されてしまうことがある。このような場合でも、撮像対象となる電子部品のリードの突出高さに応じてリード検出幅を変更することで、各電子部品に適した撮像動作を行わせることができる。
リード検出幅を調整する検出幅調整機構としては、レーザー照明ユニット40が発する照明光40Lの照明幅を調整する機構であることが望ましい。前記照明幅の調整により、照明光40LがリードLに照射され得る幅、つまりリード検出幅を簡易に調整することができる。第4実施形態では、前記照明幅の調整機構によって、リード検出幅を可変とする具体例を示す。
図19(A)及び図19(C)は、第4実施形態に係る部品撮像装置による撮像状況を示す図、図19(B)及び図19(D)は、各々の撮像におけるそのリード検出幅を示す図である。第4実施形態に係る部品撮像装置は、レーザー素子を有する光源ユニット41と、レーザー光を線状の平行光に変換するシリンドリカルレンズ42L(光学レンズ)を有する光学系ユニット42とを具備するレーザー照明ユニット40を含む。さらに、該部品撮像装置は、レンズ支持部材53とレンズ駆動装置54とからなるレンズ移動機構を備えている。
レンズ支持部材53は、シリンドリカルレンズ42Lを、その周縁において支持する部材である。レンズ駆動装置54は、シリンドリカルレンズ42Lが照明光軸A1に沿って移動するように、レンズ支持部材53を移動させる。第4実施形態の部品撮像装置の制御構成は、例えば、図12に示す制御装置8を適用し、レンズ駆動装置54の動作を、軸制御部23に制御させる構成とすることができる。
シリンドリカルレンズ42Lの照明光軸上における位置を選択することで、照明光40Lの収束幅、つまり照明幅を調整することができる。図19(A)は、シリンドリカルレンズ42Lが予め定められたデフォルト位置に配置されている状態を示す。このデフォルト位置が、シリンドリカルレンズ42Lが光路上において光源ユニット41に最も近い位置である。光源ユニット41のレーザー素子は拡散光を発するので、シリンドリカルレンズ42Lが光源ユニット41に接近していると、前記拡散光の拡散度合いが小さい段階でシリンドリカルレンズ42Lの屈折面に入射する。従って、照明光40Lの照明幅、すなわちシリンドリカルレンズ42Lの屈折面を有する断面方向の出力光線の幅は小さくなる。
図19(B)は、幅狭の照明幅を持つ照明光40LにてリードLが照射されている例を示す。この場合、リードLに対して照明光40Lが交差する領域がリード検出幅となる。当該リード検出幅は、リードLのリード先端Laから上方に比較的短い幅となる。
図19(C)は、シリンドリカルレンズ42Lが、光路上において前記デフォルト位置よりも光源ユニット41から離間するように、レンズ駆動装置54がレンズ支持部材53を移動させた状態を示している。この場合、レーザー素子が発する拡散光は、拡散度合いが比較的大きくなってシリンドリカルレンズ42Lの屈折面に入射する。従って、シリンドリカルレンズ42Lから出射する照明光40LWは、その照明幅が比較的大きくなる。
図19(D)は、広狭の照明幅を持つ照明光40LWにてリードLが照射されている例を示す。照明光40LWによるリード検出幅は、リードLのリード先端Laから上方に比較的長い幅となる。このように、第4実施形態によれば、シリンドリカルレンズ42Lの照明光軸上における位置を調整することで、撮像光軸A2上の一部領域である撮像領域31Aと照明光40Lとが交差する認識画像を取得できる検出領域を上下方向に拡大又は縮小することが可能となり、リード検出幅を自在に調整することができる。従って、様々な種類の電子部品やリードの検査スペックに対応することができる。
<第5実施形態>
図20(A)及び図20(B)は、第5実施形態に係る部品撮像装置による撮像状況を示す図である。第5実施形態の部品撮像装置は、リード検出幅の調整のためレーザー照明ユニット40の照明光軸A1の傾きを調整する角度調整機構を備える。この角度調整機構は、レーザー照明ユニット40を保持する保持部材55と、保持部材55を移動させることで、レーザー照明ユニット40のZ方向における高さ位置を調整する昇降装置56とを含む。第5実施形態の部品撮像装置の制御構成は、例えば、図12に示す制御装置8を適用し、昇降装置56の動作を、軸制御部23に制御させる構成とすることができる。
図20(A)及び図20(B)は、第5実施形態に係る部品撮像装置による撮像状況を示す図である。第5実施形態の部品撮像装置は、リード検出幅の調整のためレーザー照明ユニット40の照明光軸A1の傾きを調整する角度調整機構を備える。この角度調整機構は、レーザー照明ユニット40を保持する保持部材55と、保持部材55を移動させることで、レーザー照明ユニット40のZ方向における高さ位置を調整する昇降装置56とを含む。第5実施形態の部品撮像装置の制御構成は、例えば、図12に示す制御装置8を適用し、昇降装置56の動作を、軸制御部23に制御させる構成とすることができる。
保持部材55は、レーザー照明ユニット40を保持するだけでなく、当該保持部材55のZ方向への移動に連動して、レーザー照明ユニット40の傾き角をシフトさせる機構を備えている。具体的には、図20(A)に示すように、保持部材55が下方位置に存在するとき、照明光軸A1の撮像光軸A2に対する交差角はα1となる。このときの照明光軸A1は、撮像光軸A2上であってリード先端Laが通過するポイントを指向している。これに対し、図20(B)に示すように、保持部材55が昇降装置56によって上方位置まで上昇されても、変わらず照明光軸A1が前記ポイントを指向することができる交差角α2(α1>α2)となるように、レーザー照明ユニット40の傾き角をシフトさせる。
照明光40Lは上下方向に幅を持つ平行光であり、その照明幅は、本実施形態では一定であるので、交差角αを撮像光軸A2に対して直角に近づけるほど、リードLに対する照明幅としては小さくなる。つまり、交差角α1のときの照明光40LによってリードLが照射される幅よりも、交差角α2のときの照明光40LによってリードLが照射される幅の方が短くなる。このように、第5実施形態によれば、照明光軸A1の撮像光軸A2に対する交差角αを調整することで、リード検出幅を自在に調整することができる。
<第6実施形態>
図21(A)及び図21(B)は、第6実施形態に係る部品撮像装置による撮像状況を示す図である。第6実施形態の部品撮像装置は、前記検出幅調整機構として、3つのレーザー照明ユニット403、404、405をモジュール化してなるレーザー照明モジュール40M(照明部)を備えている。3つのレーザー照明ユニット403、404、405は、撮像光軸A2に対して同じ角度で交差する照明光軸を持ち、Z方向における高さ位置を互いに異ならせて配置されている。第6実施形態の部品撮像装置の制御構成は、例えば、図12に示す制御装置8を適用し、レーザー照明モジュール40Mの動作を、照明制御部26に制御させる構成とすることができる。
図21(A)及び図21(B)は、第6実施形態に係る部品撮像装置による撮像状況を示す図である。第6実施形態の部品撮像装置は、前記検出幅調整機構として、3つのレーザー照明ユニット403、404、405をモジュール化してなるレーザー照明モジュール40M(照明部)を備えている。3つのレーザー照明ユニット403、404、405は、撮像光軸A2に対して同じ角度で交差する照明光軸を持ち、Z方向における高さ位置を互いに異ならせて配置されている。第6実施形態の部品撮像装置の制御構成は、例えば、図12に示す制御装置8を適用し、レーザー照明モジュール40Mの動作を、照明制御部26に制御させる構成とすることができる。
レーザー照明モジュール40Mの第1レーザー照明ユニット403(第1照明部)は、リードLのリード先端La付近の先端領域(第1領域)をターゲットとして、照明光403Lを照射する。第2レーザー照明ユニット404(第2照明部)は、リードLの中間領域(第2領域)をターゲットとして、照明光404Lを照射する。第3レーザー照明ユニット405は、リードLの根元付近の領域をターゲットとして、照明光405Lを照射する。
リードLに対する照明幅を狭幅とする場合、照明制御部26は、図21(A)に示すように、第1レーザー照明ユニット403のみを点灯させ、リード先端La付近の先端領域のみをターゲットとして照明光403Lを照射させる。この場合、リード検出幅は狭幅となる。これに対し、リードLに対する照明幅を広幅とする場合、照明制御部26は、図21(B)に示すように、3つのレーザー照明ユニット403、404、405の全てを点灯させ、リードLの前記先端領域、前記中間領域及び前記根元付近の全てをターゲットとして照明光404L、405L、406Lを照射する。勿論、第1、第2レーザー照明ユニット403、404の2つを点灯させることもできる。この場合、リード検出幅を、図21(A)の場合に比べて広幅とすることができる。
<第7実施形態>
続いて、リード検出幅を調整する実施形態であって、図4に示した基本実施形態の装置構成及び図12に示した制御装置8を用いて、ソフトウェア的にリード検出幅を調整する第7実施形態を、図22(A)~図22(C)に基づいて説明する。図22(A)は、リード検出領域についての説明図、図22(B)及び図22(C)は、第7実施形態に係る部品撮像装置による撮像状況を示す図である。
続いて、リード検出幅を調整する実施形態であって、図4に示した基本実施形態の装置構成及び図12に示した制御装置8を用いて、ソフトウェア的にリード検出幅を調整する第7実施形態を、図22(A)~図22(C)に基づいて説明する。図22(A)は、リード検出領域についての説明図、図22(B)及び図22(C)は、第7実施形態に係る部品撮像装置による撮像状況を示す図である。
図22(A)を参照して、照明光軸A1の撮像光軸A2に対する傾斜角をθ、照明光の照明幅をTとするとき、リードLを撮像可能なZ方向の領域であるリード検出領域は、

既述の通り、電子部品17は、吸着ノズル16(部品保持部材)により保持されている。この吸着ノズル16は、吸着ヘッド用駆動装置20(図12;昇降機構)によってZ方向の高さ位置の調整が可能である。図22(B)は、吸着ノズル16による電子部品17の保持位置が比較的下方位置に設定され、これによりリードLが比較的深くリード検出領域内に進入している例を示している。この場合、リード先端Laを起点として上方に延びるリード検出幅は比較的広幅となる。
一方、図22(C)は、吸着ノズル16による電子部品17の保持位置が、図22(B)の場合に比べて比較的上方位置に設定され、これによりリードLが比較的浅くリード検出領域内に進入している例を示している。この場合、リード検出幅は比較的狭幅となり、リード先端Laの近傍部分だけが撮像対象となる。このように、第7実施形態によれば、照明幅を調整する機構を要することなく、吸着ノズル16による電子部品17の保持位置を調整することで、リード検出幅を自在に調整することができる。
<キャリブレーション動作の例示>
続いて、部品撮像装置11のキャリブレーション動作について、図12のブロック図及び図23のフローチャートを用いて説明する。このキャリブレーション動作は、例えば表面実装機1の工場出荷時に実行される。

まず、主制御部21は、記憶部22から初期動作条件データを読み出す(ステップS21)。初期動作条件データは、例えば、レーザー照明ユニット40、ヘッドユニット15及びカメラ31(ラインセンサ32)の初期動作条件である。レーザー照明ユニット40の場合、その据え付け位置、レーザー光の光量、照明幅、照明光の幅員、レーザー素子の数などのデータである。ヘッドユニット15では、X方向の移動速度、吸着ノズル16のZ方向の高さなどのデータである。また、カメラ31では、F値やシャッター速度などのデータである。特に、レーザー照明ユニット40として直流電源で駆動されるユニットを採用する場合、パルス制御にてレーザー照明ユニット40側での微妙な光量調整が困難であるので、撮像に必要な光量は、シャッター速度によって調整される。
次いで主制御部21は、読み出した初期動作条件データにて、上述のレーザー照明ユニット40、ヘッドユニット15及びカメラ31を含む、表面実装機1の各機器の動作条件を設定する(ステップS22)。そして、主制御部21は、認識対象となるリード付の電子部品若しくはキャリブレーション用のダミー部品を、ヘッドユニット15(吸着ノズル16)で試行吸着させる(ステップS23)。続いて、主制御部21は、吸着された電子部品が前記検出領域を通過するようにヘッドユニット15を移動させつつ、レーザー照明ユニット40及びカメラ31を同期動作させて、当該電子部品の試行認識画像を撮像させる(ステップS24)。
その後、上記試行認識画像に、当該電子部品が備えるリードLのリード先端Laが認識可能な状態で映り込んでいるか否かが確認される(ステップS25)。リード先端Laが認識できない場合(ステップS25でNO)、ステップS21で読み出された初期動作条件データが変更される(ステップS26)。そして、その変更された動作条件データが新たに設定され(ステップS23)、同じ処理が繰り返される。一方、リード先端Laが明瞭に認識できる場合(ステップS25でYES)、キャリブレーションを終了する。
<照明光軸と撮像光軸との位置合わせ調整の例>
照明光軸A1と撮像光軸A2とを位置合わせするためのメカニカルな光軸調整方法の一例を示す。図24(A)は、撮像光軸A2の調整用ターゲット60の斜視図、図24(B)は、調整用ターゲット60のカメラ31での撮像状況を示す図、図24(C)は、その撮像により得られる認識画像I-60を示す図である。
照明光軸A1と撮像光軸A2とを位置合わせするためのメカニカルな光軸調整方法の一例を示す。図24(A)は、撮像光軸A2の調整用ターゲット60の斜視図、図24(B)は、調整用ターゲット60のカメラ31での撮像状況を示す図、図24(C)は、その撮像により得られる認識画像I-60を示す図である。
調整用ターゲット60は、正方形の平板部材であり、被撮像面に黒色の地色面61と、この地色面61を左右半分に区画する線上に描かれた白色の認識ライン62とを備えている。認識ライン62は、長い白ラインと、その両端に少し離間して各々配置された短いラインとからなる。光軸調整にあたり、作業者は、まず調整用ターゲット60を吸着ノズル16に吸着させる。
次に、ラインセンサ32の撮像素子配列方向と認識ライン62とを一致させるための調整を行う。具体的には、図24(B)に示すように、照明ユニット35を点灯させて無指向性の照明光35Lを照射させつつ、カメラ31で調整用ターゲット60を撮像させる。そして、図24(C)に示すように、作業者は、認識画像I-60において白色の認識ライン62の光像I-62が、その両端の短いラインまで完全に観察されるように、調整用ターゲット60の吸着ノズル16の中心軸線回りの位置を調整する。
その後、上記のように認識ライン62に対して位置合わせされた撮像光軸A2に対する、レーザー照明ユニット40の照明光軸A1の交差位置を合わせる。図25(A)は、照明光軸A1の調整のための調整用ターゲット60の撮像状況を示す図、図25(B)は、その認識画像I-60Aを示す図である。
照明ユニット35を消灯する一方で、レーザー照明ユニット40を点灯させ、照明光40Lにより調整用ターゲット60を照明する。このとき、照明光軸A1(照明光40L)が調整用ターゲット60の認識ライン62を適正に指向していないと、その認識画像I-60Aにおいて、認識ライン62の光像I-62Aは不完全に映る。作業者は、図25(B)に示すように、完全な光像I-62Aが認識画像I-60Aにおいて観察されるよう、レーザー照明ユニット40の据え付け位置の調整を行う。以上の作業により、照明光軸A1と撮像光軸A2との位置合わせが完了する。
以上、本発明の各種実施形態につき説明したが、本発明は上記実施形態に限られるものではなく、例えば次のような変形実施形態を採ることができる。
(1)上記実施形態では、本発明に係る部品撮像装置11が表面実装機1に組付けられた例を示した。部品撮像装置11は、表面実装機1以外の、電子部品17の撮像を要する各種装置に適用することが可能である。例えば、電子部品17の検査を行う部品検査装置に適用することができる。また、上記実施形態では、本発明に係る部品撮像装置11をリード付きの電子部品17のリード先端Laの撮像認識に適用した。本発明は、電子部品17として部品本体Bの底面Baに半球球又は球状のボール端子が設けられた電子部品の、ボール端子先端を撮像認識する場合にも適用できる。
(2)上記実施形態では、撮像部として、ラインセンサ32を備えるカメラ31を例示した。ラインセンサ32に代えて、二次元エリアセンサを用いることもできる。図26は、撮像部として二次元エリアセンサ32Aが用いられる場合の光路を示す図である。二次元エリアセンサ32Aを用いる場合、撮像光軸に沿った撮像領域を制限する工夫が必要となる。二次元エリアセンサ32Aと電子部品17の撮像領域との間において、撮像光軸A2上に2つのスリット板341、342が配置される。二次元エリアセンサ32Aに入射される光は、スリット板341及び342の双方のスリットを通過した光のみとなる。従って、このような構成によれば、二次元エリアセンサ32Aを用いても、ラインセンサ32と同様な撮像を行わせることができる。なお、図26では、2つのスリット板341、342を別部材として例示しているが、これに代えて、入口スリットと出口スリットとを備える直線状のスリット箱を適用しても良い。
(3)上記実施形態では、表面実装機1への適用例を示したので、移動機構として、Yレールユニット13、Xレールユニット14及びヘッドユニット15からなる移動機構を例示した。これは一例であり、移動機構は電子部品17を保持して空中搬送できる機構であればよい。また、上記実施形態では電子部品17を移動させる例を示したが、電子部品17を移動させず、カメラ31を移動させることで、撮像領域(検出領域)の側を移動させるようにしても良い。
なお、上述した具体的実施形態には以下の構成を有する発明が主に含まれている。
本発明の一局面に係る部品撮像装置は、部品本体と、前記部品本体から延出された延出端子とを備え、前記延出端子が前記部品本体の底面に対して垂直な方向に延びる延出端子先端を備える電子部品の、前記延出端子先端を撮像する機能を備えた部品撮像装置であって、前記部品本体の底面を貫く第1方向に撮像光軸が配置され、該撮像光軸に沿って予め定められた撮像領域を持つ撮像部と、前記撮像光軸に対して傾斜し且つ前記撮像光軸と交差する照明光軸を持ち、該照明光軸に沿って指向性を有する照明光を照射する照明部と、前記撮像部及び前記照明部を制御して、前記撮像光軸と前記照明光軸との交差によって形成される、前記撮像領域と前記照明光とが交差する前記検出領域を通過する前記延出端子先端の認識画像を取得させる制御部と、を備える。
この構成によれば、撮像部が有する撮像領域と、照明部が発する指向性を有する照明光とが交差する検出領域が形成される。前記延出端子先端が前記検出領域を通過する際に、該延出端子先端の認識画像が取得される。このため、電子部品の前記延出端子先端以外の部分が、前記認識画像に映り込むことはない。すなわち、照明光が延出端子先端以外の電子部品の他の部分にも照射されたとしても、その照射部位が前記検出領域に入っていなければ、その光像は撮像部に取り込まれない。従って、当該部品撮像装置によれば、延出端子先端と他の部分とのコントラストが明瞭化された認識画像を取得することができる。
上記の部品撮像装置において、前記撮像部がラインセンサを含み、前記照明部が、レーザー光を発するレーザー素子と、前記レーザー光を線状光に変換する光学系とを含むことが望ましい。この構成によれば、撮像光軸に沿って予め定められた撮像領域を持つ撮像部を、簡易な構成で実現することができる。
上記の部品撮像装置において、前記電子部品が、前記延出端子として前記部品本体から延出されたリードを備え、前記撮像の対象となる前記延出端子先端が、前記リードにおける前記部品本体の底面に対して垂直な方向に延びるリード先端である構成とすることができる。この構成によれば、前記リード先端が前記検出領域を通過する際に、該リード先端の認識画像が取得される。従って、当該部品撮像装置によれば、リード先端と他の部分とのコントラストが明瞭化された認識画像を取得することができる。
あるいは、前記電子部品が、前記延出端子として前記部品本体から延出された半球状あるいは球状のボール端子を備え、前記撮像の対象となる前記延出端子先端が、前記ボール端子における前記部品本体の底面に対して垂直な方向のボール端子先端である構成とすることができる。この構成によれば、前記ボール端子先端が前記検出領域を通過する際に、該ボール端子先端の認識画像が取得される。従って、当該部品撮像装置によれば、ボール端子先端と他の部分とのコントラストが明瞭化された認識画像を取得することができる。
上記の部品撮像装置において、前記電子部品が、前記リード先端の前記第1方向における突出高さが異なる複数の突出高さの前記リードが、前記第1方向と直交する方向に並んでいる電子部品であって、前記制御部は、前記検出領域に前記リード先端を通過させて前記認識画像を取得させる認識動作を、前記複数の突出高さの前記リードの前記突出高さに合わせて複数回実行させ、複数回の認識動作で得られた複数の前記認識画像を合成して、一の認識画像を形成する画像処理を実行する構成とすることができる。
この構成によれば、突出高さが異なる複数の突出高さのリードのリード先端の認識画像が各々取得され、これを合成して1の認識画像が形成される。従って、検出領域が限定されている本発明に係る部品撮像装置であっても、突出高さの異なるリードを有する電子部品のリード先端の認識画像を確実に取得することができる。
具体的実施形態として、前記照明部が、前記第1方向における高さ位置が異なる複数の高さ位置の照明部を含み、前記複数の高さ位置の照明部はそれぞれ突出高さが異なる複数の突出高さの前記リードのリード先端をターゲットとして、各々照明光を照射するように配置され、前記制御部は、前記複数の高さ位置の照明部の内の一の高さ位置の照明部を動作させる場合、複数の高さ位置の照明部の内の他の高さ位置の照明部を停止させる構成とすることができる。
この構成によれば、異なる高さ位置に配置された複数の照明部の動作切り替えによって、各々の突出高さのリード先端に対する認識動作に瞬時に対応させることができる。
あるいは、上記の部品撮像装置が、前記照明部を支持する支持部材と、前記支持部材を移動させることで、前記照明部の前記第1方向における高さ位置を調整する照明部昇降機構と、をさらに備え、前記照明部昇降機構は、異なる複数の突出高さの前記リード先端をターゲットとする複数回の認識動作において、それぞれ前記照明部の前記第1方向における高さ位置を調整し、異なる複数の突出高さの前記リード先端をターゲットとして、各々照明光を照射するように前記支持部材を移動させる構成とすることができる。
この構成によれば、前記照明部昇降機構による前記照明部の前記第1方向における高さ位置調整によって、異なる複数の突出高さの前記リード先端の認識動作の各々に対応させることができる。
上記の部品撮像装置において、前記照明部が発する照明光の照明幅を調整することにより、前記リードの前記第1方向における検出幅を調整する検出幅調整機構をさらに備えることが望ましい。
この構成によれば、撮像対象となる電子部品のリードの突出高さに応じて、リード検出幅を可変にすることができる。若しくは、リードの不良許容度合い、例えばリードの曲がりの許容範囲スペックに応じて、リード検出幅を調整することが可能となる。また、前記照明幅の調整により、照明光がリードに照射され得る幅、つまりリード検出幅を簡易に調整することができる。
前記検出幅調整機構を備える部品撮像装置において、前記照明部が、レーザー光を発するレーザー素子と、前記レーザー光による照明幅を調整する光学レンズとを含み、前記検出幅調整機構は、前記光学レンズを前記照明光軸に沿って移動させることで、前記照明幅を調整するレンズ移動機構を含む構成とすることができる。
この構成によれば、前記光学レンズの前記照明光軸上における位置を選択することで、レーザー光による照明幅を調整することができる。
また、前記検出幅調整機構を備える部品撮像装置において、前記検出幅調整機構は、前記照明光軸の、前記撮像光軸に対する交差角を調整することで、前記照明幅を調整する角度調整機構を含む構成とすることができる。
この構成によれば、前記交差角を撮像光軸に対して直角に近づけるほど、前記照明幅を小さくすることができる。
あるいは、前記検出幅調整機構を備える部品撮像装置において、前記照明部が、前記第1方向における高さ位置が異なる第1照明部及び第2照明部を含み、前記第1照明部は前記リードの高さ方向における所定の領域である第1領域をターゲットとして、前記第2照明部は前記リードの前記第1領域とは異なる領域である第2領域をターゲットとして、各々照明光を照射するように配置され、前記制御部は、前記第1照明部及び前記第2照明部のいずれかのみを動作させて、前記第1領域又は前記第2領域のいずれかのみをターゲットとして照明光を照射させて、狭幅の照明幅とする制御と、前記第1照明部及び前記第2照明部の双方を動作させて、前記第1領域及び前記第2領域の双方をターゲットとして照明光を照射させて、広幅の照明幅とする制御とを実行する構成とすることができる。
この構成によれば、前記第1照明部及び前記第2照明部の点灯制御によって、狭幅の照明幅と広幅の照明幅との間の切り替えを瞬時に行わせることができる。
上記の部品撮像装置において、無指向性の照明光を発する照明ユニットをさらに備え、前記制御部は、前記認識画像の取得対象が前記延出端子先端である場合には、前記照明部を動作させ、前記認識画像の取得対象が、前記延出端子を備えない部品本体からなる汎用部品である場合には、前記照明ユニットを動作させることが望ましい。この構成によれば、部品撮像装置に、延出端子先端及び汎用部品の双方の認識を行わせることができる。
本発明の他の局面に係る表面実装機は、実装用部品を保持する部品保持部材と、前記部品保持部材を上下方向に昇降する昇降機構と、前記部品保持部材を水平方向に移動する移動機構とを有し、部品供給部から前記実装用部品を運搬し基板に実装する実装部と、前記電子部品として、前記部品保持部材に保持された前記実装用部品を撮像する上記の部品撮像装置と、前記撮像部によって撮像された前記実装用部品の画像に基づいて、前記実装用部品の前記延出端子先端の位置を検出する検出部と、前記実装用部品の前記延出端子先端の位置の検出結果に基づき、基板への水平方向の実装位置を調整する制御装置と、を備える。
本発明のさらに他の局面に係る表面実装機は、実装用部品を保持する部品保持部材と、前記部品保持部材を上下方向に昇降する昇降機構と、前記部品保持部材を水平方向に移動する移動機構とを有し、部品供給部から前記実装用部品を運搬し基板に実装する実装部と、前記電子部品として、前記部品保持部材に保持された前記実装用部品を撮像する上記の部品撮像装置と、前記撮像部によって撮像された前記実装用部品の画像に基づいて、前記実装用部品の前記リード先端の位置を検出する検出部と、前記実装用部品の前記リード先端の位置の検出結果に基づき、基板への水平方向の実装位置を調整する制御装置と、を備え、前記制御装置は、前記昇降機構により前記部品保持部材を昇降させて、前記撮像光軸と前記照明光の照明幅とで定まるリード検出領域への前記リードの進入長を調整することによって、前記リードの前記第1方向における検出幅を調整する。
この構成によれば、前記照明幅を調整する機構を要することなく、前記昇降機構による実装用部品の前記第1方向における高さ位置調整によって、リードの検出幅を調整することができる。
本発明のさらに他の局面に係る表面実装機は、実装用部品を保持する部品保持部材と、前記部品保持部材を上下方向に昇降する昇降機構と、前記部品保持部材を水平方向に移動する移動機構とを有し、部品供給部から前記実装用部品を運搬し基板に実装する実装部と、前記電子部品として、前記部品保持部材に保持された前記実装用部品を撮像する上記の部品撮像装置と、前記撮像部によって撮像された前記実装用部品の画像に基づいて、前記実装用部品の前記リード先端の位置を検出する検出部と、前記実装用部品の前記リード先端の位置の検出結果に基づき、基板への水平方向の実装位置を調整する制御装置と、を備え、前記制御装置は、前記昇降機構により、複数の高さ位置におけるそれぞれの認識動作において、前記検出領域を異なる複数の突出高さの前記リード先端が通過するように、前記部品保持部材を上下方向に移動させる。
この構成によれば、前記昇降機構による前記部品保持部材の上下方向の移動により、実装用部品の異なる複数の突出高さの前記リード先端が、前記検出領域を通過できるようになる。従って、リード先端の突出高さに応じた各々の認識動作をスムースに行わせることができる。
以上の通り、本発明によれば、リード先端位置の測定が容易に行える認識画像を取得することができる部品撮像装置、及びこの部品撮像装置を用いた電子部品の表面実装機を提供することができる。
Claims (15)
- 部品本体と、前記部品本体から延出された延出端子とを備え、前記延出端子が前記部品本体の底面に対して垂直な方向に延びる延出端子先端を備える電子部品の、前記延出端子先端を撮像する機能を備えた部品撮像装置であって、
前記部品本体の底面を貫く第1方向に撮像光軸が配置され、該撮像光軸に沿って予め定められた撮像領域を持つ撮像部と、
前記撮像光軸に対して傾斜し且つ前記撮像光軸と交差する照明光軸を持ち、該照明光軸に沿って指向性を有する照明光を照射する照明部と、
前記撮像部及び前記照明部を制御して、前記撮像光軸と前記照明光軸との交差によって形成される、前記撮像領域と前記照明光とが交差する前記検出領域を通過する前記延出端子先端の認識画像を取得させる制御部と、
を備える部品撮像装置。 - 請求項1に記載の部品撮像装置において、
前記撮像部がラインセンサを含み、
前記照明部が、レーザー光を発するレーザー素子と、前記レーザー光を線状光に変換する光学系とを含む、部品撮像装置。 - 請求項1又は2に記載の部品撮像装置において、
前記電子部品が、前記延出端子として前記部品本体から延出されたリードを備え、
前記撮像の対象となる前記延出端子先端が、前記リードにおける前記部品本体の底面に対して垂直な方向に延びるリード先端である、部品撮像装置。 - 請求項1又は2に記載の部品撮像装置において、
前記電子部品が、前記延出端子として前記部品本体から延出された半球状あるいは球状のボール端子を備え、
前記撮像の対象となる前記延出端子先端が、前記ボール端子における前記部品本体の底面に対して垂直な方向のボール端子先端である、部品撮像装置。 - 請求項3に記載の部品撮像装置において、
前記電子部品が、前記リード先端の前記第1方向における突出高さが異なる複数の突出高さの前記リードが、前記第1方向と直交する方向に並んでいる電子部品であって、
前記制御部は、
前記検出領域に前記リード先端を通過させて前記認識画像を取得させる認識動作を、前記複数の突出高さの前記リードの前記突出高さに合わせて複数回実行させ、複数回の認識動作で得られた複数の前記認識画像を合成して、一の認識画像を形成する画像処理を実行する、部品撮像装置。 - 請求項5に記載の部品撮像装置において、
前記照明部が、前記第1方向における高さ位置が異なる複数の高さ位置の照明部を含み、前記複数の高さ位置の照明部はそれぞれ突出高さが異なる複数の突出高さの前記リードのリード先端をターゲットとして、各々照明光を照射するように配置され、
前記制御部は、前記複数の高さ位置の照明部の内の一の高さ位置の照明部を動作させる場合、複数の高さ位置の照明部の内の他の高さ位置の照明部を停止させる、部品撮像装置。 - 請求項5に記載の部品撮像装置において、
前記照明部を支持する支持部材と、
前記支持部材を移動させることで、前記照明部の前記第1方向における高さ位置を調整する照明部昇降機構と、をさらに備え、
前記照明部昇降機構は、異なる複数の突出高さの前記リード先端をターゲットとする複数回の認識動作において、それぞれ前記照明部の前記第1方向における高さ位置を調整し、異なる複数の突出高さの前記リード先端をターゲットとして、各々照明光を照射するように前記支持部材を移動させる、部品撮像装置。 - 請求項3に記載の部品撮像装置において、
前記照明部が発する照明光の照明幅を調整することにより、前記リードの前記第1方向における検出幅を調整する検出幅調整機構をさらに備える、部品撮像装置。 - 請求項8に記載の部品撮像装置において、
前記照明部が、レーザー光を発するレーザー素子と、前記レーザー光による照明幅を調整する光学レンズとを含み、
前記検出幅調整機構は、前記光学レンズを前記照明光軸に沿って移動させることで、前記照明幅を調整するレンズ移動機構を含む、部品撮像装置。 - 請求項8に記載の部品撮像装置において、
前記検出幅調整機構は、前記照明光軸の、前記撮像光軸に対する交差角を調整することで、前記照明幅を調整する角度調整機構を含む、部品撮像装置。 - 請求項8に記載の部品撮像装置において、
前記照明部が、前記第1方向における高さ位置が異なる第1照明部及び第2照明部を含み、前記第1照明部は前記リードの高さ方向における所定の領域である第1領域をターゲットとして、前記第2照明部は前記リードの前記第1領域とは異なる領域である第2領域をターゲットとして、各々照明光を照射するように配置され、
前記制御部は、
前記第1照明部及び前記第2照明部のいずれかのみを動作させて、前記第1領域又は前記第2領域のいずれかのみをターゲットとして照明光を照射させて、狭幅の照明幅とする制御と、
前記第1照明部及び前記第2照明部の双方を動作させて、前記第1領域及び前記第2領域の双方をターゲットとして照明光を照射させて、広幅の照明幅とする制御と、を実行する、部品撮像装置。 - 請求項1~11のいずれか1項に記載の部品撮像装置において、
無指向性の照明光を発する照明ユニットをさらに備え、
前記制御部は、
前記認識画像の取得対象が前記延出端子先端である場合には、前記照明部を動作させ、
前記認識画像の取得対象が、前記延出端子を備えない部品本体からなる汎用部品である場合には、前記照明ユニットを動作させる、部品撮像装置。 - 実装用部品を保持する部品保持部材と、前記部品保持部材を上下方向に昇降する昇降機構と、前記部品保持部材を水平方向に移動する移動機構とを有し、部品供給部から前記実装用部品を運搬し基板に実装する実装部と、
前記電子部品として、前記部品保持部材に保持された前記実装用部品を撮像する請求項1ないし請求項12のいずれか1項に記載の部品撮像装置と、
前記撮像部によって撮像された前記実装用部品の画像に基づいて、前記実装用部品の前記延出端子先端の位置を検出する検出部と、
前記実装用部品の前記延出端子先端の位置の検出結果に基づき、基板への水平方向の実装位置を調整する制御装置と、
を備える表面実装機。 - 実装用部品を保持する部品保持部材と、前記部品保持部材を上下方向に昇降する昇降機構と、前記部品保持部材を水平方向に移動する移動機構とを有し、部品供給部から前記実装用部品を運搬し基板に実装する実装部と、
前記電子部品として、前記部品保持部材に保持された前記実装用部品を撮像する請求項3に記載の部品撮像装置と、
前記撮像部によって撮像された前記実装用部品の画像に基づいて、前記実装用部品の前記リード先端の位置を検出する検出部と、
前記実装用部品の前記リード先端の位置の検出結果に基づき、基板への水平方向の実装位置を調整する制御装置と、を備え、
前記制御装置は、
前記昇降機構により前記部品保持部材を昇降させて、前記撮像光軸と前記照明光の照明幅とで定まるリード検出領域への前記リードの進入長を調整することによって、前記リードの前記第1方向における検出幅を調整する、表面実装機。 - 実装用部品を保持する部品保持部材と、前記部品保持部材を上下方向に昇降する昇降機構と、前記部品保持部材を水平方向に移動する移動機構とを有し、部品供給部から前記実装用部品を運搬し基板に実装する実装部と、
前記電子部品として、前記部品保持部材に保持された前記実装用部品を撮像する請求項5に記載の部品撮像装置と、
前記撮像部によって撮像された前記実装用部品の画像に基づいて、前記実装用部品の前記リード先端の位置を検出する検出部と、
前記実装用部品の前記リード先端の位置の検出結果に基づき、基板への水平方向の実装位置を調整する制御装置と、を備え、
前記制御装置は、
前記昇降機構により、複数の高さ位置におけるそれぞれの認識動作において、前記検出領域を異なる複数の突出高さの前記リード先端が通過するように、前記部品保持部材を上下方向に移動させる、表面実装機。
