Definitions
- the invention relates to a dosing device for sunscreen for application to the skin of a human body and a method for dosing.
- a 2006 Recommendation from the Commission of the European Union points to the importance of the proper use of sunscreens for the effectiveness of the sun protection factor indicated for a sunscreen.
- sunscreens In order to reach the level of protection indicated by the sun protection factor, sunscreens must be applied in quantities corresponding to those used in the test for the determination of the sun protection factor, ie 2 mg / cm 2 .
- the Commission of the European Union if the amount of sunscreen is too low, the protection afforded by the aid will be disproportionately reduced. Thus, a reduction of half the amount should lead to a reduction of the protective effect by two-thirds. Therefore, it is important to apply sunscreen sufficiently to obtain protection according to the indicated SPF.
- a device for the metered application of a sunscreen wherein the device has a plurality of nozzles for the directed output of the sunscreen.
- the nozzles are in one Application space arranged at different positions.
- the nozzles are associated with a control device which controls the nozzles in the sense of a presettable metered release of the sunscreen.
- the metering device comprises a base in which or on which a first container and at least one second container are formed.
- the first container is used to hold a certain amount of sunscreen (essentially a liquid substance such as sunscreen) for application to an arm of the body, thus the first container is also referred to below as an arm container.
- the second container serves to receive a certain amount of sunscreen for application to a leg of the body. Accordingly, in the following, the second container is also referred to simply as a leg container.
- a volume of the leg container is substantially twice as large as a volume of the arm container.
- the containers are both completely filled with sunscreen, then there is twice the amount of sunscreen in the leg container.
- the invention utilizes Wallace's so-called Neuner Rule, which is otherwise used in estimating the areal extent of severe skin burns. According to the Nine Rule, 9 percent of the total body surface of an adult is in one arm, 9 percent on the head, 18 percent on one leg and 36 percent on the trunk. Thus, according to this rule of nine, one leg has a surface twice as large as an arm (18% to 9%).
- a user of the dosing device according to the invention wants to cream his arms and legs with a sunscreen
- the volume of the arm container may be sized to accommodate a correspondingly large amount of sunscreen to provide protection according to SPF. If, for example, a male adult assumes a body surface area of 1.9 m 2 and a sunscreen with an applied quantity of 2 mg / cm 2 is applied, this results in an amount of 38 g for the entire body. According to Neuner's rule, one arm accounts for 3.42 g and one leg for twice the amount, namely 6.84 g. Based on an amount of 3.42 g, the calculation of the volume of the arm container is based on an average value for the density of sunscreen become. However, it is also possible to set the density of only one particular sunscreen in determining the volume of the arm container.
- the density of water (1 g / cm 3 ) can be set.
- the volume of the arm container may be in a range of 3.0 to 3.5 cm 3 .
- the volume of the leg container would then be correspondingly 6 to 7 cm 3 .
- the arm container or first container and the leg container or second container can be realized according to the nine-rule rule a largely uniform order with a constant order amount for the head and the trunk. Since the head and an arm according to the Nine Rule each an equal proportion of the total body surface area (9 percent) are attributed, the first container can also be used to specify the amount of sunscreen for the head.
- the leg container can be used to determine the amount necessary to provide the front or back of the trunk with sunscreen. Since the hull according to Neuner rule has twice as much of the total body area as a leg, the leg container or the second container may specify the required amount of sunscreen for example, the front of the fuselage, assuming that the front and the back have each a same size surface. Under this assumption, the body area of the front of the trunk would correspond to the body area of a leg, namely 18 percent of the total body area.
- a third container for a quantity of sunscreen agent for application to the body of the body is formed in or on the base, the third container also being referred to below as the body container.
- a volume of the trunk container is substantially twice the volume of the leg ratio.
- the hull container may be divided into two sub-containers, with a first sub-container to receive the amount of sunscreen provided for the front of the body.
- a second subcontainer is the back of the Assigned to the fuselage.
- the volume of the first sub-container may substantially correspond to the volume of the second sub-container.
- the values can also lie in a range of values which only include the exact value (for example 1, 8 to 2.2 or in another embodiment 1, 9 to 2,1).
- a fourth container may be provided for an amount of sunscreen for application to the head, wherein the fourth container may also be referred to as a head container.
- the volume of the head container may substantially correspond to the volume of the arm container.
- the head container may be made smaller than the arm container.
- the volume of the head container may be one-half to four-fifths of the volume of the arm container. Such a reduced volume of the head container takes into account the fact that the part of the scalp that is hairy is not or less exposed to direct sunlight.
- two arm containers and two leg containers are provided, wherein the arrangement of all containers form a pictogram for the human body.
- the minimum requirement for a pictogram should be the stylized depiction of two legs and two arms, whereby a human body is simulated in a simplified manner by their arrangement relative to one another and possibly by additional representations for the head and trunk.
- the pictogram can be symmetrical. It may also show a human body in a non-symmetrical particular posture (for example, a running person).
- the pictogram not only ensures a pleasing appearance of the base with the individual containers, but also reduces the risk that it may be Creaming to errors occurs: For example, as far as an assignment of the individual containers to arm and leg and possibly trunk and head is not easily recognizable, a user mistakenly apply the amount of sunscreen in a leg container to one of his arms, because he swaps the leg container with the arm container. As a result, such a permutation can cause individual body parts (here the arm) with significantly too much sunscreen, while other parts of the body (here the leg) are supplied with too little sunscreen.
- the first container may have a measuring line, through which a partial volume of the first container is displayed.
- the measurement line may indicate what amount of sunscreen is necessary, the arm of an adult woman with the same amount applied per unit area (eg, 2 mg / cm 2 ) cream.
- the remaining containers may also have one or more measuring strokes. For example, all containers may each have a measuring line. In this case, it is possible for a ratio of a partial volume predetermined by a measuring line to the (total) volume of a container to deviate from a corresponding ratio of another container (for example by up to 10 percent).
- the base may be substantially plate-shaped or flat. It may have a flat or only slightly curved surface, wherein the first container is formed as a recess in the surface.
- the first container preferably has the shape of a flat shell with rounded corners, so that sunscreen can be emptied without residue with one or more fingers. This also applies to all other containers.
- the base, the first container and the second container and, depending on the version, other containers may be integrally formed.
- the base may be an injection molded part or a deep-drawn part made of plastic, on the upper side or surface of which a plurality of differently sized and / or differently deep depressions are provided, which form the individual containers. Such a basis can be produced very inexpensively for larger quantities.
- the dosing device has a lid with which it is possible to cover the upper side of the base with its depressions.
- the lid may be rotatably connected about an axis with the base, so that it can be opened and closed.
- Lid and base may be integrally formed, wherein a hinge, through which the rotatable connection between the lid and the base is realized, may be a piano hinge or a film hinge.
- the lid has surface portions with information on an inner side. This information can be a guide on how best to cream the individual parts of the skin with the sunscreen. Other information may also be provided, for example, regarding the sun protection factor and the time that may be exposed to the sun as a function of the sun protection factor without re-applying the sunscreen.
- the lid may also include a mirror to facilitate and control the application of the sunscreen, especially in the face. A glued to the inside of the lid mirror or a glued paper cartons with printed information should not oppose the above-described integrality of the base and lid.
- the metering device can be designed as a blister pack.
- the blister pack has a molded part preferably made of plastic, which forms the base with the first container, the second container and optionally with other containers.
- On the form il is one Cover layer applied, which comprises, for example, a plastic film and / or an aluminum foil.
- the cover layer can be glued to the molded part, welded and connected in a suitable manner so as to seal the individual containers and to protect their contents from dirt or humidity.
- Such a blister pack lends itself to a single use, wherein the filling of the sunscreen in the container and the subsequent sealing by the cover layer can be done in a plant.
- a single-container blister pack filled with sunscreen wherein the amount of sunscreen is from 3 to 4 grams and is suitable for the head and possibly also the neck area or the décolleté at a rate of about 2 mg / cm 2 with sunscreen supply.
- the blister pack has a covering layer which seals the base with the one container.
- the cover layer may also comprise a plastic film and / or an aluminum foil, which may be glued or welded to the base.
- Another object of the invention the provision of a method that facilitates a metered application of sunscreen is achieved by claim 12.
- sunscreen is applied to the skin of the human body using a dosing device as described herein to provide a first amount of sunscreen for the head or arm and a second amount of sunscreen for a leg substantially twice as large like the first lot.
- a third amount of sunscreen is given to the hull, which is substantially twice the second amount.
- the first amount is preferably 3.2 to 3.6 g.
