Description

デュプレクサ
 本発明は、通過帯域の異なる第1及び第2の帯域フィルタを有するデュプレクサに関し、より詳細には第1の帯域フィルタがアンバランス型の弾性表面波フィルタからなるデュプレクサに関する。
 従来、弾性表面波フィルタを用いたデュプレクサが種々提案されている。例えば、下記の特許文献1には、送信用フィルタと受信用フィルタとを有するSAW分波器が開示されている。特許文献1では、受信用フィルタが、縦結合共振子型の弾性表面波フィルタにより構成されている。特許文献1に記載の縦結合共振子型弾性表面波フィルタからなる受信フィルタは、不平衡入力端子と不平衡出力端子とを有する。すなわち、この受信フィルタはアンバランス型の弾性表面波フィルタである。
特開2000-349591号公報
 従来、デュプレクサの受信フィルタとして用いられている弾性表面波フィルタとしては、上記アンバランス型の弾性表面波フィルタと、バランス出力を取出し得るバランス型の弾性表面波フィルタとが知られている。バランス型の弾性表面波フィルタでは、平衡出力端子間のバランス性により、高調波の減衰量を大きくすることができる。
 これに対して、特許文献1に記載のようなアンバランス型の弾性表面波フィルタを用いた場合には、高調波の減衰量を大きくすることが困難であった。高調波の減衰量が小さいと、電圧制御発振器(VC)から出力されるノイズ信号と高調波とが合成され、不要な信号が発生するおそれがある。そのため、受信感度が劣化するおそれがある。
 本発明の目的は、高調波の減衰量を大きくすることができるデュプレクサを提供することにある。
 本願の第1の発明は、第1の帯域フィルタと、第1の帯域フィルタよりも通過帯域が低周波数側に位置している第2の帯域フィルタとを有するデュプレクサである。
 第1の発明では、第1の帯域フィルタが、不平衡入力-不平衡出力を有するアンバランス型の弾性表面波フィルタからなる。第1の帯域フィルタは、圧電基板と、圧電基板上に構成された電極構造とを備える。前記電極構造は、入力電極パッドと、出力電極パッドと、アース電位に接続されるアース電極パッドと、少なくとも1つのIDT電極を有する弾性表面波フィルタとして機能する機能電極部と、前記機能電極部と前記入力電極パッドとを接続している第1の信号配線電極と、前記機能電極部内において信号電流が流れる第2の信号配線電極と、前記機能電極部と前記出力電極パッドとを接続している第3の信号配線電極と、前記機能電極部と前記アース電極パッドとを結ぶアース配線電極とを有する。
 第1の発明では、前記第1~第3の信号配線電極の内のいずれかの信号配線電極が、前記アース配線電極と立体交差している立体交差部が設けられている。この立体交差部において、アース配線電極と信号配線電極との間に層間絶縁膜が設けられている。ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサを構成するように、層間絶縁膜を介してアース配線電極と対向している部分の該信号配線電極の幅が、当該立体交差部以外の部分の該信号配線電極の幅よりも太くなるように構成されている。
 本願の第2の発明は、第1の帯域フィルタと、第1の帯域フィルタよりも通過帯域が低周波数側に位置している第2の帯域フィルタとを有するデュプレクサである。第2の発明においても、前記第1の帯域フィルタが、不平衡入力-不平衡出力を有するアンバランス型の弾性表面波フィルタからなる。
 第2の発明では、前記弾性表面波フィルタが、圧電基板と、前記圧電基板上に構成された電極構造とを備える。第2の発明では、前記電極構造が、入力電極パッドと、出力電極パッドと、アース電位に接続されるアース電極パッドと、少なくとも1つのIDT電極を有する弾性表面波フィルタとして機能する機能電極部と、前記機能電極部と前記入力電極パッドとを接続している第1の信号配線電極と、前記機能電極部内において信号電流が流れる第2の信号配線電極と、前記機能電極部と前記出力電極パッドとを接続している第3の信号配線電極と、前記機能電極部と前記アース電極パッドとを結ぶアース配線電極とを有する。
 第2の発明では、前記アース電極パッドに連ねられており、かつ前記機能電極部に電気的に接続されていないアース電極パッド延長部がさらに設けられている。そして、ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサを構成するように前記アース電極パッド延長部が、層間絶縁膜を介して前記第1~第3の信号配線電極の内のいずれかの信号配線電極と重なりあっている。
 本発明に係るデュプレクサでは、好ましくは、前記ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサが構成されている部分において、前記アース配線電極が前記層間絶縁膜と前記圧電基板との間に配置されている。
 本発明に係るデュプレクサでは、好ましくは、前記アンバランス型の弾性表面波フィルタが縦結合共振子型弾性表面波フィルタである。
 本発明に係るデュプレクサの他の特定の局面では、前記第1の帯域フィルタが受信フィルタであり、前記第2の帯域フィルタが送信フィルタである。
 本発明に係るデュプレクサでは、ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサを構成するように、第1~第3の信号配線電極のうちのいずれかの信号配線電極が、層間絶縁膜を介してアース配線電極またはアース電極パッド延長部と重なり合っているため、アンバランス出力の弾性表面波フィルタからなる第1の帯域フィルタにおいて、高調波の減衰量を十分に大きくすることが可能となる。
図1は、本発明の一実施形態におけるデュプレクサにおける受信フィルタを構成する弾性表面波フィルタの平面図である。 図2は、本発明の一実施形態に係るデュプレクサの回路図である。 図3は、本発明の一実施形態において、受信フィルタに構成されているローパス用コンデンサ部分の略図的正面断面図である。 図4は、比較例のデュプレクサで用いられている受信フィルタ用弾性表面波フィルタの平面図である。 図5は、本発明の実施形態のデュプレクサの受信フィルタ及び比較例のデュプレクサの受信フィルタの周波数特性を示す図である。
 以下、図面を参照しつつ、本発明の具体的な実施形態を説明することにより、本発明を明らかにする。
 図2は、本発明の一実施形態に係るデュプレクサの回路図である。デュプレクサ1は、アンテナ端子2と、送信端子3と、受信端子4とを有する。アンテナ端子2と送信端子3との間に第2の帯域フィルタとしての送信フィルタ5が接続されている。送信フィルタ5は、ラダー型回路構成の弾性表面波フィルタからなる。すなわち、複数の直列腕共振子S1~S5と、複数の並列腕共振子P1~P4が、それぞれ、弾性表面波共振子により構成されている。並列腕共振子P1~P3のグラウンド電位側の端部が共通接続されており、インダクタンスL1を介してグラウンド電位に接続されている。並列腕共振子P4のグラウンド電位側端部が、インダクタンスL2を介してアース電位に接続されている。直列腕共振子S5に並列にインダクタンスL3が接続されている。
 なお、上記送信フィルタ5の回路構成は、本発明では特に限定されない。
 他方、アンテナ端子2と受信端子4との間に、第1の帯域フィルタとしての受信フィルタ6が接続されている。受信フィルタ6の通過帯域すなわち受信帯域は、送信フィルタ5の通過帯域よりも高い。
 本実施形態では、受信フィルタ6は、アンバランス型の縦結合共振子型弾性表面波フィルタ7を有する。縦結合共振子型弾性表面波フィルタ7とアンテナ端子2との間には、複数の1ポート型弾性表面波共振子8~10が互いに直列に接続されている。また、縦結合共振子型弾性表面波フィルタ7と受信端子4との間の接続点11とグラウンド電位との間に1ポート型弾性表面波共振子12が接続されている。
 本実施形態のデュプレクサ1の特徴は、受信フィルタ6において、図2に示すローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC1~C3が信号電位とグラウンド電位との間に接続されていることにある。ここで、図2では、コンデンサC1は、弾性表面波共振子8とアンテナ端子2との間の接続点13と、グラウンド電位との間に接続されている。コンデンサC2は、弾性表面波共振子10と縦結合共振子型弾性表面波フィルタ7との間の接続点14と、グラウンド電位との間に接続されている。コンデンサC3は、縦結合共振子型弾性表面波フィルタ7の出力側端部に連なる接続点15と、グラウンド電位との間に接続されている。
 図1は、上記デュプレクサ1における受信フィルタ6の平面図である。受信フィルタ6は、圧電基板21を有する。圧電基板21は、LiTiO及びLiNbOなどの圧電単結晶からなる。もっとも、圧電単結晶に代えて圧電セラミックスを用いてもよい。
 上記圧電基板21上に、図示の電極構造が形成されている。この電極構造は、Al、Cu、Agまたはこれらを主体とする合金などからなる金属材料により構成されている。
 上記電極構造は、アンテナ端子に接続される入力電極パッド22と、受信端子に接続される出力電極パッド23とを有する。また、圧電基板21上には、アース電位に接続されるアース電極パッド24~27が設けられている。さらに上記電極構造は、図2に示した1ポート型弾性表面波共振子8~10を構成するためのIDT電極を含む。
 図1では、IDT電極構成部分は、Xを矩形の枠で囲んだブロックにより示すこととする。また、上記縦結合共振子型弾性表面波フィルタ7を構成する部分においても、3IDT型の第1及び第2の縦結合共振子型弾性表面波フィルタ部7A,7Bが構成されている。ここでも、IDT構成部分は、Xを矩形の枠で囲んだブロックで略図的に示すこととする。
 さらに、図1に示した1ポート型弾性表面波共振子12を構成するIDT電極も圧電基板21上に形成されている。
 上記電極構造のうち、1ポート型弾性表面波共振子8~10、縦結合共振子型弾性表面波フィルタ7及び1ポート型弾性表面波共振子12を有する部分、すなわち弾性表面波フィルタとして機能する部分を機能電極部とする。
 上記電極構造は、さらに、以下の第1~第3の信号配線電極及びアース配線電極を有する。
 第1の信号配線電極31は、入力電極パッド22と第1の1ポート型弾性表面波共振子8とを電気的に接続している。第2の信号配線電極32は、上記機能電極部内において信号電流が流れる配線部分である。第3の信号配線電極33は、機能電極部と出力電極パッド23とを接続している。また、アース配線電極34は機能電極部とアース電極パッド24,25,26または27とを電気的に接続している配線電極部分である。本実施形態の特徴は、ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC1~C3が設けられていることにある。
 層間絶縁膜41は、ポリイミドなどの合成樹脂、あるいはSiOなどの誘電体を用いて構成することができる。
 この立体交差部においては、ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサを構成するために、第1の信号配線電極31の部分31aの幅が、斜線のハッチングを付して示すように、立体交差部でない第1の信号配線電極31の部分の幅よりも太くされている。また、図3に示す立体交差部においては、第1の信号配線電極31と層間絶縁膜41を介して対向しているアース配線電極34aの平面形状は、上方に重なり合っている第1の信号配線電極31と同じか、これを含む形状とされている。そのため、上記立体交差部において、十分な静電容量を有するローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC1が構成されている。
 なお、図1に示したローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC1~C3のうち、ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC1では、アース電極パッド延長部35上に層間絶縁膜41を介して第1の信号配線電極31の部分31aが重なり合っている。ここで、アース電極パッド延長部35とは、アース電極パッド24に接続されているが、機能電極部には電気的には接続していない部分をいう。すなわち、アース電極パッド延長部35は、機能電極部をアース電位に接続する機能は有していない。このアース電極パッド延長部35は、上記ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC1を構成するために、層間絶縁膜41の下方に設けられている。
 図1の矢印で示すように、ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC2,C3においても、下方に位置しているアース配線電極と、層間絶縁膜42,43を介して第2の信号配線電極32が重なり合っている。圧電基板を平面視する方向においてアース配線電極と重なり合う第2の信号配線電極の部分32aの幅Wは、アース配線電極と重なり合ってない第2の信号配線電極32の部分の幅よりも太くされている。このように、上記ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC2,C3が構成されている部分においても、第2の信号配線電極32の部分32a,32bの幅は、アース配線電極と重なり合ってない第2の信号配線電極32の部分の幅よりも太くされている。また、第2の信号配線電極32と層間絶縁膜42,43を介して重なり合っているアース配線電極部分も第2の信号配線電極32の幅が太くなった部分32a,32bと同一の形状またはこの形状を含む形状とされている。従って、十分な静電容量を有するローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC2,C3が構成されている。
 本実施形態のデュプレクサ1では、受信フィルタ6が、アンバランス型の縦結合共振子型弾性表面波フィルタ7を有する。アンバランス型の縦結合共振子型弾性表面波フィルタ7では、高調波の減衰量を大きくすることが困難である。しかしながら、本実施形態では、上記ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC1~C3が、信号電位とアース電位との間に接続されている。そのため、高調波を効果的に減衰させることが可能とされている。
 なお、本発明においては、受信フィルタ6を構成する弾性表面波フィルタはアンバランス型である限り、縦結合共振子型弾性表面波フィルタに限定されるものではない。例えばラダー型フィルタを用いてもよい。もっとも、ラダー型フィルタの場合には、圧電基板上に大きなスペースを必要とし、上記のような立体交差部分を作ることが困難である。従って、本実施形態のように、縦結合共振子型弾性表面波フィルタ7を用いることがより望ましい。配線が延びる方向に直角な方向の配線の寸法を幅とする。なお、幅が一定でない場合、圧電基板を平面視してアース配線電極部分と層間絶縁膜を介して重なり合っている信号配線の部分の幅は、アース配線電極部分と重なり合っている信号配線の面積Aを信号配線長Lで除した平均幅Waveを用いればよい。
 なお、本実施形態では、ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC1~C3が構成されていたが、ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC1~C3のうち1つのみ設けられてもよい。すなわち、ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサは、信号電位とアース電位との間に接続される限り、その個数及び接続位置は特に限定されるものではない。
 図5は、上記実施形態のデュプレクサ1における受信フィルタ6の周波数特性と、比較例の周波数特性を示す図である。
 ここでは、3IDT型の第1及び第2の縦結合共振子型弾性表面波フィルタ部7A,7Bを有する縦結合共振子型弾性表面波フィルタ7を用い、Band1の受信フィルタを構成した。Band1の受信フィルタの通過帯域は2110~2170MHzである。3倍波は6330~6510MHzの周波数を有することとなる。
 なお、図4は、比較例の弾性表面波フィルタ101の平面図である。図1と同一部分については同一の参照番号を付することとする。本比較例では、上記ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC1~C3が構成されていない。すなわち、立体交差部D1~D5で示されているように存在する。しかしながら、単に立体交差しているだけである。具体的には、層間絶縁膜を介して下方のアース配線電極と重なり合わせた信号配線部分の幅が立体交差していない信号配線部分の幅に比べて太い構成を有しない。
 図5の破線は、上記ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC1~C3が設けられていないことを除いては、上記実施形態と同様にして構成された比較例の受信フィルタの周波数特性を示す。実線が上記実施形態の周波数特性を示す。
 比較例では、立体交差部D1~D5は設けられているものの、積極的にローパスフィルタ用コンデンサが構成されているわけではないため、3倍波の減衰量が比較的小さい。これに対して、上記実施形態では、上記ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC1~C3が構成されているため、3倍波の減衰量を約8dB大きくすることが可能とされている。
 これは、上記ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC1~C3が設けられていることによる。すなわち、信号配線に並列に静電容量が挿入され、この静電容量がローパスフィルタとしての機能を果たしていることによる。
 本発明では、上記実施形態のローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC1~C3のうち、アース配線電極ではなく、アース電極パッド延長部35を用いて構成されているローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC1のみが1以上構成されてもよい。あるいは、上記ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC2や上記ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC3のみが1以上設けられてもよい。ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC2,C3では、アース電極パッド延長部35ではなく、アース配線電極が用いられている。
 さらに、上記実施形態のように、アース電極パッド延長部35を用いたローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC1と、アース配線電極を有するローパスフィルタ用コンデンサC2,C3とが併用されてもよい。
 上記実施形態では、受信フィルタ6は、3IDT型の第1,第2の弾性表面波フィルタ部を有する縦結合共振子型弾性表面波フィルタを有していた。もっとも、本発明においては、上記のように、受信フィルタを構成する弾性表面波フィルタとしての機能電極部の構成は上記実施形態の構造に限定されるものではない。
 なお、上記実施形態のデュプレクサ1では、第1の帯域フィルタが受信フィルタであり、第2の帯域フィルタが送信フィルタであった。本発明は、このように受信フィルタ及び送信フィルタに限らず、通過帯域が異なる第1及び第2の帯域フィルタを有するデュプレクサに広く適用することができる。

Claims (5)

  1.  第1の帯域フィルタと、該第1の帯域フィルタよりも通過帯域が低周波数側に位置している第2の帯域フィルタとを有するデュプレクサであって、
     前記第1の帯域フィルタが、不平衡入力-不平衡出力を有するアンバランス型の弾性表面波フィルタからなり、
     前記第1の帯域フィルタが、圧電基板と、前記圧電基板上に構成された電極構造とを備え、
     前記電極構造が、入力電極パッドと、出力電極パッドと、アース電位に接続されるアース電極パッドと、少なくとも1つのIDT電極を有する弾性表面波フィルタとして機能する機能電極部と、前記機能電極部と前記入力電極パッドとを接続している第1の信号配線電極と、前記機能電極部内において信号電流が流れる第2の信号配線電極と、前記機能電極部と前記出力電極パッドとを接続している第3の信号配線電極と、前記機能電極部と前記アース電極パッドとを結ぶアース配線電極とを有し、
     前記第1~第3の信号配線電極の内のいずれかの信号配線電極が、前記アース配線電極と立体交差している立体交差部が設けられており、該立体交差部において、該アース配線電極と該信号配線電極との間に層間絶縁膜が設けられており、ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサを構成するように、該層間絶縁膜を介して該アース配線電極と対向している部分の該信号配線電極の幅が、当該立体交差部以外の部分の該信号配線電極の幅よりも太くなるように構成されている、デュプレクサ。
  2.  第1の帯域フィルタと、該第1の帯域フィルタよりも通過帯域が低周波数側に位置している第2の帯域フィルタとを有するデュプレクサであって、
     前記第1の帯域フィルタが、不平衡入力-不平衡出力を有するアンバランス型の弾性表面波フィルタからなり、
     前記弾性表面波フィルタが、圧電基板と、前記圧電基板上に構成された電極構造とを備え、
     前記電極構造が、入力電極パッドと、出力電極パッドと、アース電位に接続されるアース電極パッドと、少なくとも1つのIDT電極を有する弾性表面波フィルタとして機能する機能電極部と、前記機能電極部と前記入力電極パッドとを接続している第1の信号配線電極と、前記機能電極部内において信号電流が流れる第2の信号配線電極と、前記機能電極部と前記出力電極パッドとを接続している第3の信号配線電極と、前記機能電極部と前記アース電極パッドとを結ぶアース配線電極とを有し、
     前記アース電極パッドに連ねられており、かつ前記機能電極部に電気的に接続されていないアース電極パッド延長部がさらに設けられており、ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサを構成するように前記アース電極パッド延長部が、層間絶縁膜を介して前記第1~第3の信号配線電極の内のいずれかの信号配線電極と重なりあっている、デュプレクサ。
  3.  前記ローパスフィルタ用コンデンサが構成されている部分において、前記アース配線電極が前記層間絶縁膜と前記圧電基板との間に配置されている、請求項1または2に記載のデュプレクサ。
  4.  前記アンバランス型の弾性表面波フィルタが縦結合共振子型弾性表面波フィルタである、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載のデュプレクサ。
  5.  前記第1の帯域フィルタが受信フィルタであり、前記第2の帯域フィルタが送信フィルタである、請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載のデュプレクサ。
