ポリチオール化合物1kgあたりに含まれるチオシアン酸アニオン濃度が600μmol/kgを超える場合、重合硬化後の光学材料は白濁の発生率が極めて高くなり、白濁した光学材料は使用不可となる。したがって、ポリチオール化合物に含まれるチオシアン酸アニオン濃度を測定することで、重合硬化しなくとも得られる樹脂の白濁発生の有無を予測、判別でき、該ポリチオール化合物の光学材料用樹脂組成物への使用可否の判断が可能となる。
ポリチオール化合物に含まれるアンモニウムカチオンとチオシアン酸アニオンのイオン濃度積が100000(μmol/kg)2を超える場合、重合硬化後の光学材料は白濁の発生率が極めて高くなり、白濁した光学材料は使用不可となる。したがって、ポリチオール化合物に含まれるアンモニウムカチオンとチオシアン酸アニオンのイオン濃度積を測定することで、重合硬化しなくとも得られる樹脂の白濁発生の有無を予測、判別でき、該ポリチオール化合物の光学材料用樹脂組成物への使用可否の判断が可能となる。
本発明では、光学材料用組成物に対し、光学材料用モールド型注入前にあらかじめ脱気処理を行うことが好ましい。脱気処理は、組成成分の一部もしくは全部と反応可能な化合物、重合触媒、添加剤の混合前、混合時あるいは混合後に、減圧下で行う。好ましくは、混合時あるいは混合後に、減圧下で行う。処理条件は、0.001~50torrの減圧下、1分間~24時間、0℃~100℃で行う。減圧度は、好ましくは0.005~25torrであり、より好ましくは0.01~10torrであり、これらの範囲で減圧度を可変しても構わない。脱気時間は、好ましくは5分間~18時間であり、より好ましくは10分間~12時間である。脱気の際の温度は、好ましくは5℃~80℃であり、より好ましくは10℃~60℃であり、これらの範囲で温度を可変しても構わない。脱気処理の際に、撹拌、気体の吹き込み、超音波などによる振動などによって、光学材料用組成物の界面を更新することは、脱気効果を高める上で好ましい操作である。
さらには、これらの光学材料用組成物および/または混合前の各原料を0.05~10μmの孔径を有するフィルターで不純物等を濾過し精製することは、本発明の光学材料の品質をさらに高める上からも好ましい。
上述の反応、処理がなされた光学材料用組成物は、ガラスや金属製の型に注入され、加熱や紫外線などの活性エネルギー線の照射によって重合硬化反応が進められた後、型から外される。このようにして、光学材料が製造される。光学材料用組成物は、好ましくは加熱によって重合硬化され、光学材料が製造される。この場合、硬化時間は0.1~200時間、好ましくは1~100時間であり、硬化温度は-10~160℃、好ましくは0~140℃である。重合は、所定の重合温度で所定時間のホールド、0.1℃~100℃/時間の昇温、0.1℃~100℃/時間の降温およびこれらの組み合わせで行うことができる。また、本発明の光学材料の製造方法において、重合終了後に、硬化物に対して50~150℃の温度で10分~5時間程度アニール処理を施すことは、光学材料の歪を除くために好ましい処理である。
<ポリチオール化合物に含まれるアンモニウムカチオン濃度>
ポリチオール化合物50gと純水50gとをガラス製バイアルに入れ密栓後、振とう器を用いて充分に撹拌混合を行った。その後、ポリチオール化合物層と水層が充分に分離するまで静置し、水層中のアンモニウムカチオン濃度をイオンクロマトグラフィーを用いて測定し、ポリチオール化合物1kgあたりに含まれるアンモニウムカチオンの物質量(mol)を算出し、アンモニウムカチオン濃度[NH4 +]とした。
<ポリチオール化合物に含まれるチオシアン酸アニオン濃度>
ポリチオール化合物50gと純水50gとをガラス製バイアルに入れ密栓後、振とう器を用いて充分に撹拌混合を行った。その後、ポリチオール化合物層と水層が充分に分離するまで静置し、水層中のチオシアン酸アニオン濃度を、MACHEREY-NAGEL社製の「ポータブル多項目水質計PF-12」およびMACHEREY-NAGEL社製の「チオシアン酸検査試薬NANOCOLOR Tube Test Thiocyanate50」を用いて測定し、ポリチオール化合物1kgあたりに含まれるチオシアン酸アニオンの物質量(mol)を算出し、チオシアン酸アニオン濃度[SCN-]とした。
<ポリチオール化合物に含まれるアンモニウムカチオンとチオシアン酸アニオンのイオン濃度積>
前記の方法で測定したアンモニウムカチオン濃度とチオシアン酸アニオン濃度の積[NH4 +] [SCN-]を算出した。
<樹脂の透明性(白濁)>
光学材料用組成物の重合により製造した光学材料(光学レンズ)を暗室内で蛍光灯下、白濁の有無を観察した。また、光学レンズは100枚製造し、以下の5段階で評価した。評価A、B、Cが合格である。
A:100枚中、白濁の有る光学レンズがない。
B:100枚中、白濁の有る光学レンズが1枚以上3枚未満。
C:100枚中、白濁の有る光学レンズが3枚以上6枚未満。
D:100枚中、白濁の有る光学レンズが6枚以上10枚未満。
E:100枚中、白濁の有る光学レンズが10枚以上。
<光学材料の色調(YI値)>
厚さ5.0mm、φ60mmの円形平板の光学材料を製造し、分光色彩計(カラーテクノシステム社製、JS555)を用いてYI値を測定した。
アンモニウムカチオン濃度[NH4 +]、チオシアン酸アニオン濃度[SCN-]、アンモニウムカチオン濃度とチオシアン酸アニオン濃度の積[NH4 +] [SCN-]が表1に示す値の1,2-ビス[(2-メルカプトエチル)チオ]-3-メルカプトプロパン(以下、化合物A-1とする)を用いて、下記の製法1に従って、本発明の光学材料用組成物および光学材料を作製した。結果を表1にまとめた。
アンモニウムカチオン濃度[NH4 +]、チオシアン酸アニオン濃度[SCN-]、アンモニウムカチオン濃度とチオシアン酸アニオン濃度の積[NH4 +] [SCN-]が表1に示す値のビス(メルカプトメチル)-3,6,9-トリチア-1,11-ウンデカンジチオール(以下、化合物A-2とする)を用いて、下記の製法2に従って、本発明の光学材料用組成物および光学材料を作製した。結果を表1にまとめた。
アンモニウムカチオン濃度[NH4 +]、チオシアン酸アニオン濃度[SCN-]、アンモニウムカチオン濃度とチオシアン酸アニオン濃度の積[NH4 +] [SCN-]が表1に示す値の1,2-ビス[(2-メルカプトエチル)チオ]-3-メルカプトプロパン(化合物A-1)、及びビス(メルカプトメチル)スルフィド(以下、化合物A-3とする)を用いて、下記の製法3に従って、本発明の光学材料用組成物および光学材料を作製した。結果を表1にまとめた。
アンモニウムカチオン濃度[NH4 +]、チオシアン酸アニオン濃度[SCN-]、アンモニウムカチオン濃度とチオシアン酸アニオン濃度の積[NH4 +] [SCN-]が表1に示す値のビス(メルカプトメチル)-3,6,9-トリチア-1,11-ウンデカンジチオール(化合物A-2)、及びビス(メルカプトメチル)スルフィド(以下、化合物A-4とする)を用いて、下記の製法4に従って、本発明の光学材料用組成物および光学材料を作製した。結果を表1にまとめた。
アンモニウムカチオン濃度[NH4 +]、チオシアン酸アニオン濃度[SCN-]、アンモニウムカチオン濃度とチオシアン酸アニオン濃度の積[NH4 +] [SCN-]が表1に示す値の1,2-ビス[(2-メルカプトエチル)チオ]-3-メルカプトプロパン(化合物A-1)、及び1,3-ビス(メルカプトメチル)ベンゼン(以下、化合物A-5とする)を用いて、下記の製法5に従って、本発明の光学材料用組成物および光学材料を作製した。結果を表1にまとめた。
アンモニウムカチオン濃度[NH4 +]、チオシアン酸アニオン濃度[SCN-]、アンモニウムカチオン濃度とチオシアン酸アニオン濃度の積[NH4 +] [SCN-]が表1に示す値の1,2-ビス[(2-メルカプトエチル)チオ]-3-メルカプトプロパン(化合物A-1)、及び2,5-ビス(メルカプトメチル)-1,4-ジチアン(以下、化合物A-6とする)を用いて、下記の製法6に従って、本発明の光学材料用組成物および光学材料を作製した。結果を表1にまとめた。
アンモニウムカチオン濃度[NH4 +]、チオシアン酸アニオン濃度[SCN-]、アンモニウムカチオン濃度とチオシアン酸アニオン濃度の積[NH4 +] [SCN-]が表2に示す値の1,2-ビス[(2-メルカプトエチル)チオ]-3-メルカプトプロパン(化合物A-1)を用いて、下記の製法1に従って、本発明の光学材料用組成物および光学材料を作製した。結果を表2にまとめた。

アンモニウムカチオン濃度[NH4 +]、チオシアン酸アニオン濃度[SCN-]、アンモニウムカチオン濃度とチオシアン酸アニオン濃度の積[NH4 +] [SCN-]が表2に示す値のビス(メルカプトメチル)-3,6,9-トリチア-1,11-ウンデカンジチオール(化合物A-2)、及びビス(メルカプトメチル)スルフィド(化合物A-4)を用いて、下記の製法4に従って、本発明の光学材料用組成物および光学材料を作製した。結果を表2にまとめた。
アンモニウムカチオン濃度[NH4 +]、チオシアン酸アニオン濃度[SCN-]、アンモニウムカチオン濃度とチオシアン酸アニオン濃度の積[NH4 +] [SCN-]が表2に示す値の1,2-ビス[(2-メルカプトエチル)チオ]-3-メルカプトプロパン(化合物A-1)、及び1,3-ビス(メルカプトメチル)ベンゼン(化合物A-5)を用いて、下記の製法5に従って、本発明の光学材料用組成物および光学材料を作製した。結果を表2にまとめた。
アンモニウムカチオン濃度[NH4 +]、チオシアン酸アニオン濃度[SCN-]、アンモニウムカチオン濃度とチオシアン酸アニオン濃度の積[NH4 +] [SCN-]が表2に示す値の1,2-ビス[(2-メルカプトエチル)チオ]-3-メルカプトプロパン(化合物A-1)、及び2,5-ビス(メルカプトメチル)-1,4-ジチアン(化合物A-6)を用いて、下記の製法6に従って、本発明の光学材料用組成物および光学材料を作製した。結果を表2にまとめた。
<製法1>
1,3-ビス(イソシアナトメチル)ベンゼン(以下、化合物X-1とする)51質量部に、硬化触媒としてジブチル錫ジクロライド0.05質量部、リン酸ジオクチル0.10質量部を、10~15℃にて混合溶解させた。さらに、1,2-ビス[(2-メルカプトエチル)チオ]-3-メルカプトプロパン(化合物A-1)49質量部を混合し、均一液とした。この混合均一液を600Paにて1時間脱泡を行った後、1μmのPTFEフィルターにて濾過を行い、直径70mm、+5Dのモールドへ注入し、40℃から130℃まで24時間かけて重合させた。その後脱型し、光学材料を得た。
<製法2>
1,3-ビス(イソシアナトメチル)ベンゼン5(化合物X-1)50質量部に、硬化触媒としてジブチル錫ジクロライド0.05質量部、リン酸ジオクチル0.10質量部を、10~15℃にて混合溶解させた。さらに、ビス(メルカプトメチル)-3,6,9-トリチア-1,11-ウンデカンジチオール(化合物A-2)50質量部を混合し、均一液とした。この混合均一液を600Paにて1時間脱泡を行った後、1μmのPTFEフィルターにて濾過を行い、直径70mm、+5Dのモールドへ注入し、40℃から130℃まで24時間かけて重合させた。その後脱型し、光学材料を得た。
<製法3>
2,5-ビス(イソシアナトメチル-ビシクロ[2.2.1]ヘプタンと2,6-ビス(イソシアナトメチル-ビシクロ[2.2.1]ヘプタンの混合物(以下、化合物X-2とする)55質量部に、硬化触媒としてジブチル錫ジクロライド0.06質量部、リン酸ジオクチル0.12質量部を、10~15℃にて混合溶解させた。さらに、1,2-ビス[(2-メルカプトエチル)チオ]-3-メルカプトプロパン(化合物A-1)40質量部とビス(メルカプトメチル)スルフィド(化合物A-3)5質量部を混合し、均一液とした。この混合均一液を600Paにて1時間脱泡を行った後、1μmのPTFEフィルターにて濾過を行い、直径70mm、+5Dのモールドへ注入し、40℃から130℃まで24時間かけて重合させた。その後脱型し、光学材料を得た。
<製法4>
ビス(イソシアナトメチル)シクロヘキサン(以下、化合物X-3とする)52質量部に、硬化触媒としてジブチル錫ジクロライド0.06質量部、リン酸ジオクチル0.12質量部を、10~15℃にて混合溶解させた。さらに、ビス(メルカプトメチル)-3,6,9-トリチア-1,11-ウンデカンジチオール(化合物A-2)を42質量部とビス(メルカプトエチル)スルフィド(化合物A-4)6質量部を混合し、均一液とした。この混合均一液を600Paにて1時間脱泡を行った後、1μmのPTFEフィルターにて濾過を行い、直径70mm、+5Dのモールドへ注入し、40℃から130℃まで24時間かけて重合させた。その後脱型し、光学材料を得た。
<製法5>
α,α,α’,α’-テトラメチルキシリレンジイソシアナート(以下、化合物X-4とする)58.5質量部に、硬化触媒としてジブチル錫ジクロライド0.06質量部、リン酸ジオクチル0.12質量部を、10~15℃にて混合溶解させた。さらに、1,2-ビス[(2-メルカプトエチル)チオ]-3-メルカプトプロパン(化合物A-1)36.5質量部と1,3-ビス(メルカプトメチル)ベンゼン(化合物A-5)6質量部を混合し、均一液とした。この混合均一液を600Paにて1時間脱泡を行った後、1μmのPTFEフィルターにて濾過を行い、直径70mm、+5Dのモールドへ注入し、40℃から130℃まで24時間かけて重合させた。その後脱型し、光学材料を得た。
<製法6>
1,3-ビス(イソシアナトメチル)ベンゼン(化合物X-1)51質量部に、硬化触媒としてジブチル錫ジクロライド0.03質量部、リン酸ジオクチル0.05質量部を、10~15℃にて混合溶解させた。さらに、1,2-ビス[(2-メルカプトエチル)チオ]-3-メルカプトプロパン(化合物A-1)39質量部と2,5-ビス(メルカプトメチル)-1,4-ジチアン(化合物A-6)10質量部を混合し、均一液とした。この混合均一液を600Paにて1時間脱泡を行った後、1μmのPTFEフィルターにて濾過を行い、直径70mm、+5Dのモールドへ注入し、40℃から130℃まで24時間かけて重合させた。その後脱型し、光学材料を得た。
Claims (5)
- 下記i)からiii)のいずれかを満たすポリチオール化合物と、
i)アンモニウムカチオン濃度が0.1~400μmol/kgである;
ii)チオシアン酸アニオン濃度が0.1~600μmol/kgである;または
iii)アンモニウムカチオン濃度が0.1~400μmol/kgであり、チオシアン酸アニオン濃度が0.1~600μmol/kgであり、さらにアンモニウムカチオンとチオシアン酸アニオンのイオン濃度積が0.01~100000(μmol/kg)2である;
ポリイソシアナート化合物とを含む光学材料用組成物。 - 前記ポリチオール化合物が、1,2-ビス[(2-メルカプトエチル)チオ]-3-メルカプトプロパン、ビス(メルカプトメチル)-3,6,9-トリチア-1,11-ウンデカンジチオール、ビス(メルカプトメチル)スルフィド、ビス(メルカプトエチル)スルフィド、1,3-ビス(メルカプトメチル)ベンゼン、および2,5-ビス(メルカプトメチル)-1,4-ジチアンからなる群より選ばれた少なくとも1種の化合物である請求項1に記載の光学材料用組成物。
- 請求項1または2に記載の光学材料用組成物の製造方法であって、前記ポリチオール化合物とポリイソシアナート化合物とを混合することを特徴とする光学材料用組成物の製造方法。
- 請求項1または2に記載の光学材料用組成物を重合することにより得られる光学材料。
- 下記i)からiii)のいずれかを満たすポリチオール化合物の光学材料用組成物への使用。
i)アンモニウムカチオン濃度が0.1~400μmol/kgである;
ii)チオシアン酸アニオン濃度が0.1~600μmol/kgである;または
iii)アンモニウムカチオン濃度が0.1~400μmol/kgであり、チオシアン酸アニオン濃度が0.1~600μmol/kgであり、さらにアンモニウムカチオンとチオシアン酸アニオンのイオン濃度積が0.01~100000(μmol/kg)2である。
