Abstract
抗ファージ特性に関する可視光応答性が良好な光触媒性被膜を形成可能なコーティング組成物が開示されている。このコーティング組成物は、基材表面に光触媒性被膜を形成するための光触媒性コーティング組成物であって、銅化合物が担持されたルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子と、屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物の粒子と、結着剤とを含んでなる。この光触媒性コーティング組成物によれば、可視光照射による抗ファージ特性に優れた光触媒被膜を形成可能である。
Description
本出願は、2012年9月27日に出願された日本国特許出願2012-214555号の優先権を主張するものであり、この日本出願の明細書は引用することにより本願の開示の一部とされる。

本発明は、光触媒の可視光応答性が改善された光触媒性部材を製造可能な光触媒性コーティング組成物に関する。
酸化チタンなどの光触媒が、近年広く利用されている。光触媒の光エネルギーにより励起された活性を利用して、種々の有害物質を分解したり、あるいは光触媒粒子を含む表面層が形成された部材表面を親水化して、表面に付着した汚れを容易に水で洗い流したりすることが可能となる。また、酸化チタンなどの光触媒の利用により、NOxなどの種々の有害物質、さらには細菌、ウイルス等を分解することも行われている。
例えば、特開2011-153163号公報(特許文献1)の実施例3には、一価銅化合物(Cu2O粒子)を有効成分として含むウイルス不活化剤と、Cu(II)を担持した光触媒粒子とを組み合わせた組成物の開示がある。また、銅イオンは殺菌作用を有することから、光触媒と銅化合物との組み合わせは先行技術に開示がある。例えば、特許第3852284号公報(特許文献2)および特開平2-6333号公報(特許文献3)は、そのような組み合わせを開示している。
また、光触媒を励起するための光として、可視光を効率よく利用する試みがなされている。可視光の利用は、屋外のみならず、室内における光触媒の利用範囲を広げることができ極めて有利である。可視光応答性の光触媒としては、例えば、窒素原子をドープした二酸化チタン粒子が特開2003-221230号公報(特許文献4)や特開2004-988号公報(特許文献5)に開示されている。さらに、非特許文献1には、1価および2価の酸化銅をルチル型酸化チタン粒子に担持した可視光応答性光触媒が開示されている。
光触媒の代表的な例である酸化チタンは、それ自体白色で、白色顔料としても長く利用されてきた物質である。酸化チタンを光触媒として基材の上にコーティングして利用するにあたり、その白色を同時に利用することもなされており、その白色度の改善、修正の工夫も提案されてきている。例えば、特開2006-272036号公報(特許文献6)には、可視光励起型光触媒粒子とルチル型酸化チタン粉末とを含む塗膜を開示している。この塗膜は、黄色味を抑えた白色を呈するとされている。また、特開2010-538129号公報(特許文献7)には、アナターゼ型酸化チタンと、さらに例えば非光触媒酸化チタンのような顔料とを組み合わせた塗料の開示がある。

本発明者らは、今般、可視光応答性の光触媒粒子と、絶縁性無機酸化物で表面処理されたルチル型の酸化チタン粒子とを組み合わせることで、光触媒の可視光応答性を改善できるとの知見を得た。本発明はかかる知見に基づくものである。
従って、本発明は、可視光応答性が良好な光触媒性被膜を形成可能なコーティング組成物の提供をその目的としている。
そして、本発明による光触媒性コーティング組成物は、基材表面に光触媒性被膜を形成するための光触媒性コーティング組成物であって、銅化合物が担持されたルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子と、屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物粒子と、結着剤とを含んでなることを特徴とする。
本発明によれば、可視光応答性が良好な光触媒性被膜を形成可能なコーティング組成物が提供される。
コーティング組成物が適用される基材
本発明によるコーティング組成物は、基材表面に光触媒性被膜を形成するためのものである。本発明に用いられる基材は、その上に光触媒層を形成可能な材料であれば無機材料、有機材料を問わず種々の材料であってよく、その形状も限定されない。材料の観点からみた基材の好ましい例としては、金属、セラミック、ガラス、プラスチック、ゴム、石、セメント、コンクリ-ト、繊維、布帛、木、紙、それらの組合せ、それらの積層体、それらの表面に少なくとも一層の被膜を有するものが挙げられる。用途の観点からみた基材の好ましい例としては、建材、建物外装、窓枠、窓ガラス、構造部材、乗物の外装及び塗装、機械装置や物品の外装、防塵カバー及び塗装、交通標識、各種表示装置、広告塔、道路用遮音壁、鉄道用遮音壁、橋梁、ガードレ-ルの外装及び塗装、トンネル内装及び塗装、碍子、太陽電池カバー、太陽熱温水器集熱カバー、ビニールハウス、車両用照明灯のカバー、屋外用照明器具、台及び上記物品表面に貼着させるためのフィルム、シート、シール等といった外装材が挙げられる。
本発明によるコーティング組成物は、基材表面に光触媒性被膜を形成するためのものである。本発明に用いられる基材は、その上に光触媒層を形成可能な材料であれば無機材料、有機材料を問わず種々の材料であってよく、その形状も限定されない。材料の観点からみた基材の好ましい例としては、金属、セラミック、ガラス、プラスチック、ゴム、石、セメント、コンクリ-ト、繊維、布帛、木、紙、それらの組合せ、それらの積層体、それらの表面に少なくとも一層の被膜を有するものが挙げられる。用途の観点からみた基材の好ましい例としては、建材、建物外装、窓枠、窓ガラス、構造部材、乗物の外装及び塗装、機械装置や物品の外装、防塵カバー及び塗装、交通標識、各種表示装置、広告塔、道路用遮音壁、鉄道用遮音壁、橋梁、ガードレ-ルの外装及び塗装、トンネル内装及び塗装、碍子、太陽電池カバー、太陽熱温水器集熱カバー、ビニールハウス、車両用照明灯のカバー、屋外用照明器具、台及び上記物品表面に貼着させるためのフィルム、シート、シール等といった外装材が挙げられる。
光触媒粒子
本発明において用いられる光触媒粒子は、銅化合物が担持されたルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子である。すなわち、本発明において用いられる光触媒粒子は、可視光(具体的には、約400~800nmの波長)の照射により光触媒活性を発現する、可視光応答性の光触媒粒子である。これらの可視光応答性光触媒のバンドギャップエネルギーは、好ましくは1.2~3.1eV、より好ましくは1.5~2.9eV、更に好ましくは1.5~2.8eVである。
本発明において用いられる光触媒粒子は、銅化合物が担持されたルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子である。すなわち、本発明において用いられる光触媒粒子は、可視光(具体的には、約400~800nmの波長)の照射により光触媒活性を発現する、可視光応答性の光触媒粒子である。これらの可視光応答性光触媒のバンドギャップエネルギーは、好ましくは1.2~3.1eV、より好ましくは1.5~2.9eV、更に好ましくは1.5~2.8eVである。
本発明において、この光触媒粒子の粒径は平均粒径が50nmを超えることが好ましく、より好ましくは平均粒径が100nm以上である。光触媒粒子の平均粒径の好ましい上限値は200nm以下である。ここで、平均粒径は、走査型電子顕微鏡により20万倍で観察した100個の粒子の長さを測定した個数平均値として算出される。粒子の形状としては真球が最も良いが、略円形や楕円形でも良く、その場合の粒子の長さは((長径+短径)/2)として略算出される。このような粒子径であると、ルチル型酸化チタンの結晶性が高くなるので、より優れた可視光応答性が得られる。
銅化合物
本発明において、銅化合物は1価及び/又は2価の銅を含むものであり、好ましくは、1価および2価の銅を含むもの、あるいは2価の銅のみを含むものであり、より好ましくは、2価の銅のみを含むものである。ここで、「銅化合物は1価および2価の銅を含む」との表現は、1価の銅を含む化合物と2価の銅を含む化合物との混合物、および1価の銅と2価の銅とを含む化合物のいずれも含む意味に用いるものとする。1価および2価の銅を含む銅化合物の利用は、可視光照射下、すなわち明所での抗ウイルス活性と、暗所での抗ウイルス活性のいずれにも優れた被膜を提供できる点で好ましい。また、2価の銅のみを含む銅化合物を適用した場合、塗料の安定性に優れ、また、可視光応答性に優れた被膜を提供できる点で好ましい。
本発明において、銅化合物は1価及び/又は2価の銅を含むものであり、好ましくは、1価および2価の銅を含むもの、あるいは2価の銅のみを含むものであり、より好ましくは、2価の銅のみを含むものである。ここで、「銅化合物は1価および2価の銅を含む」との表現は、1価の銅を含む化合物と2価の銅を含む化合物との混合物、および1価の銅と2価の銅とを含む化合物のいずれも含む意味に用いるものとする。1価および2価の銅を含む銅化合物の利用は、可視光照射下、すなわち明所での抗ウイルス活性と、暗所での抗ウイルス活性のいずれにも優れた被膜を提供できる点で好ましい。また、2価の銅のみを含む銅化合物を適用した場合、塗料の安定性に優れ、また、可視光応答性に優れた被膜を提供できる点で好ましい。
2価の銅を含む化合物の具体例としては、2価の銅の、酸化物、硫化物、または水酸化物が挙げられる。1価および2価の銅を含む化合物としては、共有結合性の高い化合物、例えば、CuxO、CuxS(ただし、1<x<2)で表される酸化銅や硫化銅などが挙げられる。本発明の他の好ましい態様において、銅化合物は、さらに、0価の銅、または2価の銅塩を含んでも良い。
本発明の好ましい態様によれば、銅化合物は、その粒径が40nm以下の粒子の形態で存在する。また銅化合物は、非粒子の形態であってもよい。本発明の一つの好ましい態様によれば、銅化合物は10nm以下の粒子の形態、非粒子の形態、またはそれらが混在するものであってよい。銅化合物の粒径は、より好ましくは8nm以下であり、また好ましくは粒径は1nm以上である。ここで、銅化合物の粒径は、透過型電子顕微鏡により100万倍の倍率で観察した任意の100個の粒子の長さを測定した個数平均値として求めることができる。また、透過型電子顕微鏡により100万倍の倍率での観察と、EDXで銅化合物の粒子が観察されない状態を非粒子とする。銅化合物が粒子の場合、粒子経は、修飾酸化チタン粒子の粒子経よりも小さいことが、可視光の吸収と応答性に優れた材料を提供する上では好ましい。
本発明の好ましい態様によれば、銅化合物は、金属銅換算で、前記光触媒性酸化チタン粒子に対して1質量%以上15質量%以下の量とされる。この銅化合物の量は、より好ましい下限値は2質量%以上であり、さらに好ましい下限値は3質量%である。またより好ましい上限値は10質量%以下である。銅化合物の量が上記範囲にあることで、光触媒の良好な可視光応答性が得られる。本発明の好ましい他の態様によれば、銅化合物の担持量が異なる光触媒粒子を組み合わせて使用しても良い。
屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物粒子
本発明のよるコーティング組成物は、可視光応答性の光触媒粒子に加えて、この可視光応答性の光触媒粒子とは異なる、屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物粒子を含んでなる。好ましくは、本発明のよるコーティング組成物は、屈折率が2を超え、3以下の無機酸化物粒子を含んでなる。本発明において、屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物粒子は、具体的には、ルチル型酸化チタン(屈折率2.71)、アナターゼ型酸化チタン(屈折率2.52)、ジルコニア(屈折率2.4)、チタン酸バリウム(屈折率2.4)、チタン酸ストロンチウム(2.37)などが挙げられる。これらのうち、ルチル型酸化チタン粒子は好適に利用可能である。屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物粒子は、絶縁性無機酸化物で表面処理されたものが好適に利用でき、絶縁性無機酸化物で表面処理されたルチル型の酸化チタン粒子がより好ましい。本発明において、ルチル型の酸化チタン粒子を表面処理するために用いられる絶縁性無機酸化物は、Si、Al、およびZrからなる群から選択される少なくとも一種の元素を含む酸化物が好ましく、アルミナ及び/又はシリカがより好ましく用いられる。絶縁性無機化合物は、これらの酸化物と共に、水酸化物が共存しているものであっても良い。このような表面処理された酸化チタン粒子は、光触媒活性を失活させたものである。表面処理の好ましい態様は、酸化チタン粒子全面または一部の被覆、または、酸化チタン粒子表面へのドープである。そして、このような表面処理された酸化チタン粒子は、白色顔料として市販されている材料を好適に利用できる。屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物粒子を上記の銅化合物が担持された光触媒粒子と組み合わせて用いることにより、光触媒の可視光応答性が改善される。可視光応答性の改善の理由は定かではないが、次のように考えられる。このような屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物粒子を可視光応答性の光触媒粒子と組み合わせることで、光触媒粒子に直射照射される励起光と、屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物粒子から拡散・反射される励起光の照射とによって、光触媒粒子が効率よく光励起され、優れた光触媒活性が得られるものと考えられる。但し、この説明はあくまで仮定であって、本発明はこれに限定されるものではない。
本発明のよるコーティング組成物は、可視光応答性の光触媒粒子に加えて、この可視光応答性の光触媒粒子とは異なる、屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物粒子を含んでなる。好ましくは、本発明のよるコーティング組成物は、屈折率が2を超え、3以下の無機酸化物粒子を含んでなる。本発明において、屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物粒子は、具体的には、ルチル型酸化チタン(屈折率2.71)、アナターゼ型酸化チタン(屈折率2.52)、ジルコニア(屈折率2.4)、チタン酸バリウム(屈折率2.4)、チタン酸ストロンチウム(2.37)などが挙げられる。これらのうち、ルチル型酸化チタン粒子は好適に利用可能である。屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物粒子は、絶縁性無機酸化物で表面処理されたものが好適に利用でき、絶縁性無機酸化物で表面処理されたルチル型の酸化チタン粒子がより好ましい。本発明において、ルチル型の酸化チタン粒子を表面処理するために用いられる絶縁性無機酸化物は、Si、Al、およびZrからなる群から選択される少なくとも一種の元素を含む酸化物が好ましく、アルミナ及び/又はシリカがより好ましく用いられる。絶縁性無機化合物は、これらの酸化物と共に、水酸化物が共存しているものであっても良い。このような表面処理された酸化チタン粒子は、光触媒活性を失活させたものである。表面処理の好ましい態様は、酸化チタン粒子全面または一部の被覆、または、酸化チタン粒子表面へのドープである。そして、このような表面処理された酸化チタン粒子は、白色顔料として市販されている材料を好適に利用できる。屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物粒子を上記の銅化合物が担持された光触媒粒子と組み合わせて用いることにより、光触媒の可視光応答性が改善される。可視光応答性の改善の理由は定かではないが、次のように考えられる。このような屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物粒子を可視光応答性の光触媒粒子と組み合わせることで、光触媒粒子に直射照射される励起光と、屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物粒子から拡散・反射される励起光の照射とによって、光触媒粒子が効率よく光励起され、優れた光触媒活性が得られるものと考えられる。但し、この説明はあくまで仮定であって、本発明はこれに限定されるものではない。
本発明において、光触媒性酸化チタン粒子は、上述の屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物粒子と光触媒性酸化チタン粒子との合計質量に対して、1質量%以上90質量%未満で含むことが好ましく、より好ましくは1質量%以上50質量%未満である。
結着剤
本発明によるコーティング組成物は、光触媒粒子と屈折率2を超える無機酸化物粒子とを基材に結着させる結着剤を含んでなる。結着剤は無機結着剤および有機結着剤のいずれであってもよい。無機結着剤の例としては、無定形酸化チタン、無定形シリカ;アルカリシリケート、アルキルシリケート等のシリカ皮膜を形成可能な前駆体の硬化物;無定形ジルコニア;炭酸ジルコニウムアンモニウム、酢酸ジルコニウム、蟻酸ジルコニウム等のジルコニア皮膜を形成可能な前駆体の硬化物などが挙げられる。また、有機結着剤の例としては、シリコーン、フッ素樹脂、ポリエステル、ポリアクリレート、ポリメタクリレート、ポリアクリル酸、ポリメタクリル酸、ポリスチレン、ポリビニル、エポキシ樹脂、ポリカーボネート、ポリアクリルアミド、ポリアミド、ポリアミン、ポリオール、ポリウレタン、ポリエーテル、ポリサルファイド、ポリフェノール、それらの複合物、それらをシリコーン変性、あるいはハロゲン変性させた樹脂等の樹脂が挙げられる。好ましい態様によれば、これら有機結着剤はエマルションの形態で添加されることが好ましい。このような結着剤の利用により、耐擦性、耐久性に優れた光触媒性被膜が得られる。
本発明によるコーティング組成物は、光触媒粒子と屈折率2を超える無機酸化物粒子とを基材に結着させる結着剤を含んでなる。結着剤は無機結着剤および有機結着剤のいずれであってもよい。無機結着剤の例としては、無定形酸化チタン、無定形シリカ;アルカリシリケート、アルキルシリケート等のシリカ皮膜を形成可能な前駆体の硬化物;無定形ジルコニア;炭酸ジルコニウムアンモニウム、酢酸ジルコニウム、蟻酸ジルコニウム等のジルコニア皮膜を形成可能な前駆体の硬化物などが挙げられる。また、有機結着剤の例としては、シリコーン、フッ素樹脂、ポリエステル、ポリアクリレート、ポリメタクリレート、ポリアクリル酸、ポリメタクリル酸、ポリスチレン、ポリビニル、エポキシ樹脂、ポリカーボネート、ポリアクリルアミド、ポリアミド、ポリアミン、ポリオール、ポリウレタン、ポリエーテル、ポリサルファイド、ポリフェノール、それらの複合物、それらをシリコーン変性、あるいはハロゲン変性させた樹脂等の樹脂が挙げられる。好ましい態様によれば、これら有機結着剤はエマルションの形態で添加されることが好ましい。このような結着剤の利用により、耐擦性、耐久性に優れた光触媒性被膜が得られる。
結着剤の添加量は適宜決定されてよいが、コーティング組成物の固形分に対して10質量%以上65質量%以下程度が通常であり、好ましくは20質量%以上、より好ましくは30質量%以上、また好ましくは60質量%以下、より好ましくは55質量%以下である。このような結着剤の量とすることで、光触媒の被膜中の粒子成分が比較的多くなり、被膜に空隙が多く形成され、比表面積が高くなる。これにより光触媒粒子の空気への接触頻度が増し、また屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物粒子による拡散・反射光が増すことで、より可視光応答性を高めることができるとの利点が得られると考えられる。
分散媒
本発明によるコーティング組成物は、上記成分と、これら成分を安定に組成物として保持する溶媒およびそのための助剤を含んでなる。溶媒の好ましい例としては、水、アルコール、トルエン又はそれらの混合溶媒等が利用できる。好ましくは水、アルコール、又はそれらの混合溶媒であり、最も好ましくは水である。分散媒の量は適宜決定されてよいが、コーティング組成物において、固形分濃度が30質量%以上80質量%以下となるよう添加されることが好ましく、30質量%以上60質量%以下であることがより好ましい。固形分濃度がこの範囲にあることで、場合により、塗料の保管安定性や塗装作業性、被膜の隠蔽性を確保できるとの利点も得られる。
本発明によるコーティング組成物は、上記成分と、これら成分を安定に組成物として保持する溶媒およびそのための助剤を含んでなる。溶媒の好ましい例としては、水、アルコール、トルエン又はそれらの混合溶媒等が利用できる。好ましくは水、アルコール、又はそれらの混合溶媒であり、最も好ましくは水である。分散媒の量は適宜決定されてよいが、コーティング組成物において、固形分濃度が30質量%以上80質量%以下となるよう添加されることが好ましく、30質量%以上60質量%以下であることがより好ましい。固形分濃度がこの範囲にあることで、場合により、塗料の保管安定性や塗装作業性、被膜の隠蔽性を確保できるとの利点も得られる。
任意成分
屈折率2以下の無機酸化物粒子
本発明の好ましい態様において、本発明によるコーティング組成物は、屈折率2以下の無機酸化物粒子をさらに含んでよい。屈折率2以下の無機酸化物粒子の例としては、上記光触媒粒子とは異なる酸化物粒子であって、具体的には、シリカ、アルミナ、セリア、イットリア、ボロニア、マグネシア、カルシア、ハフニア等の単一酸化物の粒子;およびケイ酸カルシウム等の複合酸化物の粒子などが挙げられる。このような無機酸化物粒子はフィラーとして用いられ、より好ましくは、炭酸カルシウムウィスカー、ホウ酸アルミニウムウィスカー、タルク、硫酸バリウム、珪砂、珪藻土、カオリン、クレー、陶土、炭酸バリウム、亜鉛華、等が利用できる。
屈折率2以下の無機酸化物粒子
本発明の好ましい態様において、本発明によるコーティング組成物は、屈折率2以下の無機酸化物粒子をさらに含んでよい。屈折率2以下の無機酸化物粒子の例としては、上記光触媒粒子とは異なる酸化物粒子であって、具体的には、シリカ、アルミナ、セリア、イットリア、ボロニア、マグネシア、カルシア、ハフニア等の単一酸化物の粒子;およびケイ酸カルシウム等の複合酸化物の粒子などが挙げられる。このような無機酸化物粒子はフィラーとして用いられ、より好ましくは、炭酸カルシウムウィスカー、ホウ酸アルミニウムウィスカー、タルク、硫酸バリウム、珪砂、珪藻土、カオリン、クレー、陶土、炭酸バリウム、亜鉛華、等が利用できる。
本発明の一つの態様において、本発明によるコーティング組成物には、光触媒活性を損なわない範囲で、着色顔料粒子、ラテックス・アクリルビーズ等の樹脂粒子、雲母・ガラスビーズ等の意匠材粒子などが添加されてもよい。
コーティング組成物の適用
本発明によるコーティング組成物は、上述の基材に適用され、その後適宜乾燥または焼成して、光触媒性部材の製造のために用いられる。コーティング組成物の適用は、刷毛塗り、ローラー、スプレー、ロールコーター、フローコーター、ディップコート、流し塗り、スクリーン印刷等、一般に広く行われている塗布方法を利用できる。コーティング組成物の基材への塗布後は、常温乾燥させればよく、あるいは必要に応じて加熱乾燥してもよい。例えば、乾燥温度は5℃以上500℃以下であり、基材の少なくとも一部に樹脂が含まれる場合、樹脂の耐熱温度等を考慮し、例えば好ましい乾燥温度は10℃以上200℃以下である。このようにして得られた塗装体が本発明の光触媒部材である。
本発明によるコーティング組成物は、上述の基材に適用され、その後適宜乾燥または焼成して、光触媒性部材の製造のために用いられる。コーティング組成物の適用は、刷毛塗り、ローラー、スプレー、ロールコーター、フローコーター、ディップコート、流し塗り、スクリーン印刷等、一般に広く行われている塗布方法を利用できる。コーティング組成物の基材への塗布後は、常温乾燥させればよく、あるいは必要に応じて加熱乾燥してもよい。例えば、乾燥温度は5℃以上500℃以下であり、基材の少なくとも一部に樹脂が含まれる場合、樹脂の耐熱温度等を考慮し、例えば好ましい乾燥温度は10℃以上200℃以下である。このようにして得られた塗装体が本発明の光触媒部材である。
コーティング組成物が適用された後、加熱乾燥処理または焼成処理に付す場合、これらの処理は少なくとも基材表面に熱が到達する方法であればいずれの方法も利用可能である。すなわち、基材全体を加熱しても、基材表面を部分的に加熱してもよい。
本発明において、コーティング組成物の基材への適用の前に、基材表面を予備加熱してもよい。予備加熱は、基材の表面を20℃~200℃に加熱することにより行われる。加熱された基材表面に塗布された光触媒コーティング組成物は、均一で密着性や膜強度に優れた被膜が得られるので有利である。
光触媒部材
本発明によるコーティング組成物を基材に適用した結果得られる光触媒部材は、本発明の別の側面を構成するものであり、従って、本発明によれば光触媒部材が提供され、この光触媒部材は、基材表面に光触媒性被膜が形成された光触媒部材であって、前記光触媒性被膜が、銅化合物が担持されたルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子と、屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物粒子と、結着剤とを含んでなるものである。

コーティング組成物1の調製
ルチル型TiO2と、その表面に担持されたCu(I)とCu(II)を共に含有する銅化合物からなり、銅化合物がルチル型TiO2に対して金属銅換算で1質量%担持された可視光応答性の光触媒粒子と、アクリル樹脂エマルションと、白色顔料(絶縁性無機化合物であるアルミナで表面処理されたルチル型TiO2粒子)スラリーと、任意成分としてつや消し材とを、イオン交換水に分散したコーティング組成物1を調製した。この組成物は、固形分濃度が53.6質量%である。また総固形分質量に対して、可視光応答性の光触媒粒子を20.2質量%、樹脂成分を32.2質量%、つや消し材を1.3質量%含有している。この組成物において、可視光応答性の光触媒粒子とアルミナで表面処理されたルチル型TiO2粒子との合計質量に対する可視光応答性の光触媒粒子の割合は30.4質量%である。

コーティング組成物2の調製
ルチル型TiO2と、その表面に担持されたCu(I)とCu(II)を共に含有する銅化合物からなり、銅化合物がルチル型TiO2に対して金属銅換算で1質量%担持された可視光応答性の光触媒粒子と、アクリルシリコーン樹脂エマルション(シリコーン比30wt%)と、白色顔料(絶縁性無機化合物であるアルミナ及びシリカで表面処理されたルチル型TiO2粒子)スラリーとを、イオン交換水に分散したコーティング組成物2を調製した。この組成物は、固形分濃度が38.7質量%である。また総固形分質量に対して、可視光応答性の光触媒粒子を10.1質量%、樹脂成分を53.0質量%含有している。この組成物において、可視光応答性の光触媒粒子とアルミナおよびシリカで表面処理されたルチル型TiO2粒子との合計質量に対する可視光応答性の光触媒粒子の割合は21.5質量%である。

ルチル型TiO2と、その表面に担持されたCu(I)とCu(II)を共に含有する銅化合物からなり、銅化合物がルチル型TiO2に対して金属銅換算で1質量%担持された可視光応答性の光触媒粒子と、3質量%担持された可視光応答性の光触媒粒子とアクリル樹脂エマルションと、白色顔料(絶縁性無機化合物であるアルミナで表面処理されたルチル型TiO2粒子)スラリーと任意成分としてタルクとつや消し材とを、イオン交換水に分散したコーティング組成物3を調製した。この組成物は、固形分濃度が53.6質量%である。また総固形分質量に対して、銅化合物が1質量%担持された可視光応答性の光触媒粒子を2.0質量%、銅化合物が3.0質量%担持された可視光応答性の光触媒粒子を1.0質量%、樹脂成分を32.3質量%、タルクを8.4質量%、つや消し材を10.0質量%含有している。この組成物において、可視光応答性の光触媒粒子とアルミナで表面処理されたルチル型TiO2粒子との合計質量に対する可視光応答性の光触媒粒子の割合は6.1質量%である。

質量%である。
アクリル樹脂エマルションと、白色顔料(絶縁性無機化合物であるアルミナで表面処理されたルチル型TiO2)スラリーと、任意成分としてタルクとつや消し材とを、イオン交換水に分散したコーティング組成物9を調製した。この組成物は、固形分濃度が52.9質量%である。また総固形分質量に対して、可視光応答性の光触媒粒子を0.0質量%、樹脂成分を32.6質量%、タルクを10.4質量%、つや消し材を10.2質量%含有している。この組成物において、可視光応答性の光触媒粒子とアルミナで表面処理されたルチル型TiO2粒子との合計質量に対する可視光応答性の光触媒粒子の割合は0.0
質量%である。
コーティング組成物10の調製
ルチル型TiO2と、その表面に担持された(Cu(II)のみを含有する)銅化合物からなり、銅化合物がルチル型TiO2に対して金属銅換算で1wt%担持された可視光応答性の光触媒粒子と、アクリルエマルションとを、イオン交換水に分散したコーティング組成物10を調製した。この組成物は、固形分濃度が54.2質量%であり、総固形分に対して、可視光応答性の光触媒粒子の濃度が83質量%、樹脂分が17質量%である。
ルチル型TiO2と、その表面に担持された(Cu(II)のみを含有する)銅化合物からなり、銅化合物がルチル型TiO2に対して金属銅換算で1wt%担持された可視光応答性の光触媒粒子と、アクリルエマルションとを、イオン交換水に分散したコーティング組成物10を調製した。この組成物は、固形分濃度が54.2質量%であり、総固形分に対して、可視光応答性の光触媒粒子の濃度が83質量%、樹脂分が17質量%である。
コーティング組成物の適用(製膜)
あらかじめ洗浄したアルミニウム板(50mm×50mm)表面にアミンアダクト硬化型特殊変性エポキシ防錆下塗塗料をエアースプレーで100g/m2塗装し1日常温で養生後、上記コーティング組成物を200g/m2塗装し、1~2週間以上常温で養生して得た塗装体を評価に用いた。コーティング組成物1~10を用いて得られた塗装体を、それぞれ塗装体1~10とした。
あらかじめ洗浄したアルミニウム板(50mm×50mm)表面にアミンアダクト硬化型特殊変性エポキシ防錆下塗塗料をエアースプレーで100g/m2塗装し1日常温で養生後、上記コーティング組成物を200g/m2塗装し、1~2週間以上常温で養生して得た塗装体を評価に用いた。コーティング組成物1~10を用いて得られた塗装体を、それぞれ塗装体1~10とした。
塗装体の評価
得られた塗装体の表面について、JIS R 1702に準じた下記方法により、抗ウイルス性および抗菌性の評価を行なった。

抗ウイルス性評価
大腸菌(NBRC13965)をカルシウム添加LB培地に白金耳移植し、37度18時間培養したものを、再度カルシウム添加LB培地に1/1000量移植し、37度で1×109個/mlまで培養し、大腸菌培養液とした。-80度に冷凍したQβファージ(NBRC20012)を、Tween20添加PBS液で感染価が1~3×109pfu/mlに調製し、試験ファージ液とした。試験片は、アルコール消毒、または殺菌灯15分照射し清浄化した。滅菌済ろ紙、滅菌水5mL、ガラス管を順に入れた滅菌済シャーレに、清浄化した試験片を光触媒加工面を上にして置いた。試験片に試験ファージ液を0.1mL接種し、滅菌済OHPフィルムを被せ、可視光照射シャーレは、シャーレ蓋の代わりに透過率85%以上のガラス板を載せ、暗所保管シャーレはシャーレ蓋をした。光照射は、25±2度に維持した暗幕内で実施し、他の影響を排除した。明所は、照度1000Lx、N113アクリルフィルターを用いた可視光照射、暗所は同じ暗幕内で光があたらないように保管した。4時間の光照射または保管後、試験片上のファージ液がこぼれないようにOHPフィルムをはがし、SCDLP培地10mLでサンプル表面上、OHPフィルム上の試験ファージ液を洗い流した。

回収したSCDLP培地10mLを9mLのペプトン加生理食塩水で適宜希釈した。回収したSCDLP培地または各希釈液1ml、45度のカルシウム添加LB軟寒天培地2mL、大腸菌培養液0.1mlを混ぜ、37度に温めておいたカルシウム添加LB寒天平板培地に重層し、固化後、37度18時間で培養した。培養後、30~300pfuのプラークが現れた希釈系列のシャーレのプラーク数を測定し、試験片あたりのバクテリオファージ感染価を求めた。光触媒の抗ウイルス活性値を下記計算式より算出した。

- 基材表面に光触媒性被膜を形成するための光触媒性コーティング組成物であって、
銅化合物が担持されたルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子と、

を含んでなることを特徴とする、光触媒性コーティング組成物。 - 前記屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物の粒子は、ルチル型酸化チタン粒子である、請求項1に記載の光触媒性コーティング組成物。
- 前記ルチル型酸化チタン粒子は、絶縁性無機酸化物で表面処理されたルチル型の酸化チタン粒子である、請求項2に記載の光触媒性コーティング組成物。
- 前記ルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子の平均粒径が50nmを超えるものである、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の光触媒性コーティング組成物。
- 前記ルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子の平均粒径が100nm以上である、請求項4に記載の光触媒性コーティング組成物。
- 前記ルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子と、前記屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物の粒子との合計質量に対して、前記ルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子の量が1質量%以上90質量%未満である、請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載の光触媒性コーティング組成物。
- 前記ルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子と、前記屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物の粒子との合計質量に対して、前記ルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子の量が1質量%以上50質量%未満である、請求項6に記載の光触媒性コーティング組成物。
- 前記ルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子に対して前記銅化合物の量が、金属銅換算で、1質量%以上15質量%以下である、請求項1~7のいずれか一項に記載の光触媒性コーティング組成物。
- 前記絶縁性無機酸化物が、Si、Al、およびZrからなる群から選択される少なくとも一種の元素を含む酸化物である、請求項3~8のいずれか一項に記載の光触媒性コーティング組成物。
- 分散媒をさらに含んでなり、固形分濃度が30質量%以上80質量%以下である、請求項1~9のいずれか一項に記載のコーティング組成物。
- 基材表面に光触媒性被膜が形成された光触媒部材であって、
前記光触媒性被膜が、
銅化合物が担持されたルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子と、
屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物の粒子と、
結着剤と
を含んでなることを特徴とする、光触媒部材。 - 前記屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物の粒子は、ルチル型酸化チタン粒子である、請求項11に記載の光触媒性コーティング組成物。
- 前記ルチル型酸化チタン粒子は、絶縁性無機酸化物で表面処理されたルチル型の酸化チタン粒子である、請求項12に記載の光触媒部材。
- 前記ルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子の平均粒径が50nmを超えるものである、請求項11~13のいずれか一項に記載の光触媒部材。
- 前記ルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子の平均粒径が100nm以上である、請求項14に記載の光触媒部材。
- 前記ルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子と、前記屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物の粒子との合計質量に対して、前記ルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子の量が1質量%以上90質量%未満である、請求項11~15のいずれか一項に記載の光触媒部材。
- 前記ルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子と、前記屈折率が2を超える無機酸化物の粒子との合計質量に対して、前記ルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子の量が1質量%以上50質量%未満である、請求項16に記載の光触媒部材。
- 前記ルチル型の光触媒性酸化チタン粒子に対して前記銅化合物の量が、金属銅換算で、1質量%以上15質量%以下である、請求項11~17のいずれか一項に記載の光触媒部材。
- 前記絶縁性無機酸化物は、Si、Al、およびZrからなる群から選択される少なくとも一種の元素を含む酸化物である、請求項13~18のいずれか一項に記載の光触媒部材。
