  • Furnaces for the continuous thermal treatment of glass containers using a conveyor are already known, for example from patent EP0960863B1.

  • the conveyor crosspieces of this patent are associated with brackets facing the interior of the conveyor chains and overhangingly fixed therewith.
  • Said assembly operation allows the crosspieces to move jointly with the chain, thus minimizing the dimensions of the conveyor in a manner deemed advantageous by most.

  • Conveyor 5 comprises a sequence of trays 1, the ends 35, 36 of which are inserted from the top through two openings 38, 39 above respective vertical members 26 of two parallel opposite chains 25.
  • Openings 38 and 39 have reciprocally different size. Opening 38 is appropriately wider than opening 39 to promote thermal expansion. Opening 39 is instead adapted to work as a reference for the position of tray 1.

  • Tray 1 comprises an upper vertical sheet 10 folded upwards so as to be perpendicular to a horizontal surface 30, as shown in figure 13. • Tray 1 also comprises a lower vertical sheet 20 folded downwards so as to be perpendicular to a horizontal surface 30, are shown in figure 13. • Trays 1 accommodate a plurality of lower compartments 31 parallel to one another along the motion direction of conveyor 5, on the horizontal surface 30 thereof in correspondence with the upper compartments 11. • the arrangement of the lower compartments 31 advantageously allows conveyor 5 to move at a faster speed than the conveyors known in the prior art, because the rolling movement of conveyor 5 is distributed along the vertical axis of the glass products 100 thus greatly reducing the likelihood of making them roll out from the lower 31 and upper 11 compartments and preventing damage to the printing. Furthermore, the direction of the lower compartments 31 advantageously allows a higher speed in positioning the glass products 100 on trays 1, because the possibility of the containers 100 rolling out from the lower compartments 31 is reduced.

  • the huge advantage of positioning the trays 1 above vertical members 26 of the chains 25 facilitates and speeds up the operations of disassembling and reassembling trays 1 for routine maintenance of the conveyor 5 and for changing the products 100 to be produced in series, because only the U- shaped lock fastening bolts 27 need to be removed in order to remove trays 1.
  • Another advantage due to the ease and speed of even disassembling a single tray 1 from its seat, is that of being able to fit different types of trays 1 as desired, thus responding to the need for maximizing the number of products 100 on each single tray 1 and promoting a higher production of products 100 in less time.

  • Two upper vertical sheets 10 and two lower counterweight sheets 20 for each tray 1 can be provided, so as to alternately arrange the ends of the glass products 100 advantageously occupying the smaller space or alternatively increasing the number of products 100 for each tray 1.
  • Trays 1 with two upper vertical sheets 10 are also provided to arrange the products 100 on two rows, thus allowing the size of tray 1 to be advantageously reduced, as shown in figure 17. This solution allows to contain the total length of furnace 9 and to obtain a considerable energy saving.
