  • the present invention relates to a negative electrode used for a lithium ion secondary battery, and a method of manufacturing the same.
  • Lithium ion secondary batteries which are non-aqueous secondary batteries, have a high energy density compared to nickel cadmium secondary batteries and nickel hydrogen secondary batteries, and thus are widely used as power sources for notebook computers and mobile phones. Further, with the development of electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles as environmentally friendly vehicles, the application of lithium ion secondary batteries to power sources for vehicles is being studied.
  • graphite also has a low charge potential, which is close to the deposition potential of lithium metal. Therefore, during charging at a low temperature of 0 ° C. or lower assumed for automotive applications, the potential of the negative electrode is further lowered by the overvoltage, and lithium metal is likely to be deposited. Deposition of lithium metal in the negative electrode is not preferable because it lowers the battery capacity.

Description
