- the present invention relates to a method and apparatus for performing discontinuous reception in a mobile communication system.
- a mobile communication system has been developed for the purpose of providing communication while securing user mobility.
- Such a mobile communication system has reached a stage capable of providing high-speed data communication service as well as voice communication due to the rapid development of technology.
- the LTE system is a technology for implementing a high-speed packet-based communication having a transmission rate of up to 100 Mbps higher than the currently provided data rate and is almost standardized.
- the LTE mobile communication system has introduced a discontinuous reception operation for this purpose, in particular, the terminal to minimize the power consumption of the terminal by transmitting the reverse control signal only during the active time (Active Time) in the discontinuous reception operation.
- the present invention provides a method and apparatus for minimizing power consumption and reducing complexity and cost of a terminal by appropriately defining the terminal operation in a situation in which the processing power of the terminal is forced to be higher than necessary in performing the discontinuous reception operation. Its purpose is to provide.
- Discontinuous Reception (DRX) control method of the terminal in the mobile communication system of the present invention for solving the above problems is the step of receiving the DRX configuration information from the base station, the first time point and the reception of the DRX configuration information; Determining whether a first condition of whether a current subframe exists exists between a second time point at which an event triggering application of a short DRX cycle is satisfied, and when a first condition is satisfied, applying a preset DRX cycle. - a radio access network of an LTE system includes a next-generation base station (Evolved Node B, ENB, Node B, or base station) 105, 110, 115, and 120 and an MME 125. And S-GW 130 (Serving-Gateway).
- the user equipment (hereinafter referred to as UE or terminal) 135 accesses an external network through the ENBs 105 to 120 and the S-GW 130.
- the ENBs 105 to 120 correspond to existing Node Bs of the UMTS system.
- the ENB is connected to the UE 135 by a radio channel and performs a more complicated role than the existing Node B.
- all user traffic including real-time services such as Voice over IP (VoIP) over the Internet protocol, is serviced through a shared channel, so information on the status of buffers, available transmit power, and channel status of UEs is available. It is necessary to have a device for scheduling the collection of this, ENB (105 ⁇ 120) is in charge.
- One ENB typically controls multiple cells.
- the LTE system uses Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) as a radio access technology in a 20 MHz bandwidth.
- OFDM Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing
- AMC adaptive modulation & coding
- the S-GW 130 is a device that provides a data bearer, and generates or removes a data bearer under the control of the MME 125.
- the MME is a device that is in charge of various control functions as well as mobility management function for the terminal and is connected to a plurality of base stations.
- FIG. 2 is a diagram illustrating a wireless protocol structure in an LTE system to which the present invention is applied.
- a wireless protocol of an LTE system includes packet data convergence protocols 205 and 240 (PDCP), radio link control 210 and 235 (RMC), and medium access control 215 and 230 (MAC) in a terminal and an ENB, respectively.
- the PDCP Packet Data Convergence Protocol
- RLC Radio Link control
- PDCP PDU Packet Data Unit
- the MACs 215 and 230 are connected to several RLC layer devices configured in one terminal, and multiplex RLC PDUs to MAC PDUs and demultiplex RLC PDUs from MAC PDUs.
- the physical layers 220 and 225 channel-code and modulate higher layer data, make an OFDM symbol, and transmit it to a wireless channel, or demodulate, channel decode, and transmit the received OFDM symbol through a wireless channel to a higher layer. .
- the discontinuous reception operation monitors the forward scheduling channel (PDCCH) only for a predetermined period of time, called active time, and reverse signal (CSI, Channel Status Indicator / Information, Sounding Reference Signal) related to channel quality.
- CSI Channel Status Indicator / Information, Sounding Reference Signal
- the power consumption of the terminal is minimized in a time period (hereinafter, non-active time or inactive time) other than the activation time.
- the activation time arrives every DRX (Discontinuous Reception) cycle and applies the period of the activation time differently according to the traffic situation of the terminal. For example, the terminal uses a shorter period of a short DRX 305 cycle (or a first cycle, which is the same below) when a predetermined condition is met, and a long DRX cycle 310 when the condition is not met. Longer cycles (or second cycles, the same below) are used.
- onDuration 315 When the activation time of a relatively short interval called onDuration 315 (or on interval, hereinafter equal to) is started for each DRX cycle and new data is scheduled during the period, the activation time is extended by an inactivity timer (320). ). The inactivity timer is driven or restarted every time new data is scheduled, and serves to extend the activation time accordingly when the traffic of the terminal is heavy.
- CSI refers to feedback related to forward channel quality or MIMO operation, such as channel quality indicator (CQI) and rank indicator (RI), and is transmitted through PUCCH or PUSCH.
- the UE may be configured to transmit CSI through a predetermined Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) transmission resource at a predetermined cycle.
- PUCCH Physical Uplink Control Channel
- CSI transmission through PUCCH CSI on PUCCH.
- PUSCH transmission is scheduled in a subframe in which CSI transmission is to be performed through the PUCCH
- a UE transmits a PUSCH transmission resource in order to comply with a single carrier transmission rule.
- CSI is transmitted by using a part of CSI and this is called CSI on PUSCH.
- a long DRX cycle may be applied instead of a short DRX cycle while data transmission and reception are actively performed.
- This problem occurs because the start of a short DRX cycle is triggered by the expiration of the inactivity timer, which is continuously restarted and does not expire while data transmission and reception are in progress.
- the present invention redefines the conditions for using a short DRX cycle so that a short DRX cycle is applied even while the inactivity timer is running.
- the application of a long DRX cycle while actively transmitting and receiving data causes the following problems.
- the predetermined terminal set by the base station performs only CSI and SRS transmission during the on duration.
- Such a terminal is called a terminal having a CQI-mask set.
- the terminal receives the DRX configuration information at any time from the base station.
- the DRX configuration information includes a length of a short DRX cycle, a length of a long DRX cycle, information for calculating a DRX start point, information about an on duration, and information about a length of an inactivity timer.
- the MAC control apparatus of the terminal applies the control information to perform a DRX operation as follows.
- step 410 the UE checks whether the following conditions are satisfied before starting a new subframe. If the following conditions are met, the process proceeds to step 415, and if not, the process proceeds to step 420.
- the current subframe is between t1 and t2.
- Condition 1 is to check to determine which DRX cycle to apply after the terminal receives the DRX configuration information before the DRX is driven in earnest.
- the UE applies a predefined DRX cycle in a subframe where condition 1 holds, i.e., after starting a DRX operation and before a short DRX cycle application condition is established.
- the predefined DRX cycle may be a long DRX cycle.
- the base station to specify in the DRX setting step to use which of the predetermined DRX cycle for each terminal.
- the UE applies a predetermined DRX cycle and performs a DRX operation.
- the predetermined DRX cycle is associated with whether or not a short DRX cycle is set. If a short DRX cycle is set, a short DRX cycle is applied; otherwise, a long DRX cycle is applied.
- step 420 the terminal checks whether condition 2 holds. If condition 2 is established, the terminal proceeds to step 435 to start a procedure for applying a short DRX cycle, and if condition 2 is not established, proceeds to step 425.
- the inactivity timer has expired, indicating that data transmission and reception are currently in progress.
- the terminal applies a short DRX cycle since the transmission and reception of data is likely to be resumed for a certain period even after the transmission and reception of the data is completed. More specifically, when the inactivity timer expires, the UE drives a short DRX cycle timer (short DRX cycle timer (shortDrxCycleTimer)) so that new data transmission and reception does not occur until the short DRX cycle timer (shortDrxCycleTimer) expires. Only transition to long DRX. The short DRX cycle is used while the short DRX cycle timer (shortDrxCycleTimer) is driven.
- short DRX cycle timer shortDrxCycleTimer
- -DRX command MAC CE is control information for instructing the base station to terminate the ongoing activation time and enter the mode for battery saving.
- the base station transmits the DRX command MAC CE when there is no more forward data to transmit. However, even if the forward data no longer exists, since the probability of starting new data transmission and reception is relatively high for a certain period after the data transmission and reception is completed, when the UE receives the DRX command MAC CE, the terminal drives a short DRX cycle timer (shortDrxCycleTimer). A short DRX cycle is applied for a period of time.
- step 425 the UE checks whether an inactivity timer is currently running in the subframe. If the inactivity timer is running, it means that data transmission and reception are actively being performed, and the terminal proceeds to step 435. If the inactivity timer is not running, the terminal proceeds to step 430.
- step 430 the UE checks whether a short DRX cycle timer (shortDrxCycleTimer) expires in this subframe. If it expires, the process proceeds to step 440 to apply a long DRX cycle to perform a DRX operation. If not, proceed to step 435.
- shortDrxCycleTimer shortDrxCycleTimer
- the UE checks whether a short DRX cycle is set. If the DRX configuration information includes short DRX cycle related information, such as short DRX cycle length and short DRX cycle timer (shortDrxCycleTimer) information, the short DRX cycle is set.
- short DRX cycle related information such as short DRX cycle length and short DRX cycle timer (shortDrxCycleTimer) information
- step 440 If the short DRX cycle is not configured, the terminal proceeds to step 440. If the short DRX cycle is set, the terminal proceeds to step 445.
- step 440 the UE performs a DRX operation by applying a long DRX cycle.
- the UE determines whether to start onDuration in the current subframe using the following equation.
- step 445 the UE performs a DRX operation by applying a short DRX cycle.
- the UE determines whether to start onDuration in the current subframe using the following equation.
- a UE using a long DRX cycle receives an inactivity timer, i.e., receives a control command indicating a new forward or reverse transmission through the PDCCH
- the UE changes the DRX cycle with a short DRX cycle, thereby causing an unexpected on duration. This can happen in the near time.
- the CQI-mask is configured in the terminal, the terminal is in trouble with performing the CQI transmission in the close time.
- the UE since some preparation time is required to prepare for reverse transmission, the UE may not transmit CQI in the above situation.
- a method of increasing the processing power of the terminal so that the terminal can quickly prepare for CQI transmission may be considered.
- the operation to avoid the malfunction occurring between the terminal and the base station by differentially defining the interval in which the terminal should transmit the CSI as follows.
- the terminal receives the DRX configuration information at any time from the base station.
- the DRX configuration information includes a length of a short DRX cycle, a length of a long DRX cycle, information for calculating a DRX start point, information about an on duration, and information about a length of an inactivity timer.
- the RRC of the terminal When the RRC of the terminal receives the information, it transmits the information to the MAC control device of the terminal.
- the MAC control apparatus of the terminal applies the control information to perform a DRX operation.
- the UE monitors the PDCCH in a subframe defined as the activation time in the DRX operation to confirm scheduling, and repeats the operation of minimizing battery consumption without monitoring the PDCCH in the subframe not defined as the activation time.
- step 510 the UE receives a PDCCH indicating a new transmission for the forward or reverse in any subframe m.
- step 515 the UE checks whether the CQI-mask is set, and if so, proceeds to step 525, and if not, proceeds to step 520 to continue the normal DRX operation.
- the UE checks whether the reception of the PDCCH caused a DRX cycle change.
- the PDCCH reception indicating a new transmission causes the inactivity timer to be driven. If the UE is using a long DRX cycle at the time when the inactivity timer is driven, the DRX cycle is changed from a long DRX cycle to a short DRX cycle. Therefore, the above condition is satisfied when a UE using a long DRX cycle receives a PDCCH indicating a new transmission.
- step 530 the UE checks whether an onDuration starts (or starts onDurationTimer) for a predetermined n subframes after the subframe in which the PDCCH is received. In other words, it is checked whether any one of the n subframes satisfies Equation 1. If onDuration starts for the predetermined n subframes, the UE proceeds to step 535 and, if not, proceeds to step 540.
- n is a parameter related to processing capability that the terminal can cope with sudden CSI transmission, and it is preferable to use one value that covers the low end terminal with low processing capability.
- the UE starts onDuration at an unexpected time point according to an unexpected DRX cycle change, and thus the UE may not transmit CSI during the onDuration.
- the UE performs CSI transmission as follows in any subframe between the subframe receiving the PDCCH and the subsequent n subframes.
- CSI on PUCCH transmission is performed with the best effort transmission.
- CSI on PUCCH transmission is scheduled in any subframe between subframe (m + 1) and subframe (m + n)
- perform CSI on PUCCH transmission in the subframe if possible and if not I never do that.
- the UE may omit CSI on PUCCH transmission regardless of whether transmission is possible during the interval. This is because the base station will not receive the CSI on PUCCH of the UE in the sub-frame anyway to avoid unnecessary power consumption by omitting the transmission.
- -CSI on PUSCH transmission is normally performed.
- CSI on PUSCH transmission is performed in a subframe in which CSI on PUSCH transmission is scheduled. This is because the CSI on PUSCH transmission may predict whether the UE occurs before at least 4 subframes.
- Terminal operation of step 535 may be defined as follows.
- the UE checks whether there is a subframe that is still on duration even if the DRX cycle has not changed between (m + 1) and (m + n). If there is such a subframe, the UE transmits CSI on PUCCH even if the subframes belong to (m + 1) and (m + n), and transmits CSI on PUCCH transmission as the best effort in the remaining subframes. Proceed. That is, the UE may omit CSI on PUCCH transmission for some subframes satisfying a predetermined condition among the n subframes after receiving the PDCCH indicating new transmission.
- the UE proceeds to step 540 and normally performs both CSI on PUCCH and CSI on PUSCH transmission from the subframe (m + n + 1).
- Step 545 means that the onDuration starts at the time point where the UE can process despite the unexpected DRX cycle change, so that the UE immediately after the subframe receiving the PDCCH.
- the CSI on PUCCH transmission and the CSI on PUSCH transmission are normally performed from the subframe, that is, the subframe (m + 1).
- 605 to 620 are the same as 505 to 520.
- the UE checks whether any one of the n subframes after receiving the PDCCH becomes part of an onDuration because the PDCCH is received. For example, the onDuration did not exist because the long DRX cycle was applied in the n subframe before the PDCCH was received. However, the onDuration in the n subframe is transitioned to the short DRX cycle by receiving the PDCCH. This is the case. Or, if the PDCCH is received immediately before the short DRX cycle timer (shortDrxCycleTimer) expires, the UE was expecting the transition to the long DRX, but the short DRX is continuously applied, so that some of the n subframes are turned on by the UE, which is unexpected onDuration).
- shortDrxCycleTimer shortDrxCycleTimer
- the UE proceeds to step 635 if at least one subframe of the n subframes becomes a part of the onDuration, otherwise proceeds to step 645. do.
- 635 to 645 are the same as 535 to 545.
- the UE may unexpectedly change (or maintain) the DRX cycle, and thus, the UE may not properly perform CSI transmission. Therefore, the UE may solve the DRX cycle by n subframe delays. More specifically, the UE applies a short DRX cycle after waiting for n subframes without applying a short DRX cycle immediately after the inactivtyTimer is first started. The UE also applies the long DRX after waiting for n subframes rather than applying the long DRX as soon as the short DRX cycle timer (shortDrxCycleTimer) expires.
- shortDrxCycleTimer shortDrxCycleTimer
- 705 through 720 are the same as 405 through 420.
- step 725 the UE checks whether the inactivity timer has been started for the first time before the n subframe (it has been started for the first time in the stopped state rather than being restarted). If so, then transition to step 735 for a short DRX cycle application. Otherwise proceed to step 730.
- step 730 the UE checks whether a short DRX cycle timer (shortDrxCycleTimer) has expired before n subframes and has not been restarted since. If yes, go to step 740; if yes, go to step 735.
- shortDrxCycleTimer shortDrxCycleTimer
- the step 730 is to correspond to a sudden change from a short DRX cycle to a long DRX cycle, but step 730 in step 430 in that the expiration of the short DRX cycle timer (shortDrxCycleTimer) that causes the DRX cycle transition is generally predictable. It is also possible to define the same as, that is, to check whether the short DRX cycle timer (shortDrxCycleTimer) has expired in the current subframe.
- 735-745 is the same as 435-445.
- the PDCP layer uses 7- or 12-bit serial numbers.
- PDCP SDUs correspond one-to-one with IP packets, and the maximum size of a typical IP packet is 1500 bytes, and the maximum transmission rate is increased due to 12-bit serial number assuming a 25 ms round trip time (RTT) of the PDCP stage during handover. Limited to 0.98 Gbps.
- RTT round trip time
- the maximum speed is determined to be insufficient, and in the present invention, the maximum speed is increased by introducing a longer serial number (hereinafter, an extended serial number). .
- the LTE / LTE-A mobile communication system is the first version of Rel-8, and a new release is defined every year or 1.5 years.
- the introduction of the extended serial number is expected to be possible in Rel-11 or Rel-12, and in the following description of the invention, a new release means a release in which the extended serial number is introduced, and a legacy release. release) means the release before the extended serial number is introduced. Therefore, the new release base station (hereinafter referred to as the new ENB) may set and use the extended serial number to the terminal, but the legacy release base station (hereinafter referred to as the legacy ENB) may not use the extended serial number without understanding.
- the 15-bit serial number is extended by extending the 3-bit defined by the R (reserved) bit into the serial number in the current format. It seems appropriate to use.
- the present invention assumes 15 bits as the extended serial number, it is also possible to use extended serial numbers of different lengths.
- the PDCP PDU When using an extended serial number, the PDCP PDU consists of a 1-bit D / C field 825, a 15-bit serial number 830, and a data field.
- the PDCP PDU When using a 12-bit serial number, the PDCP PDU consists of a 1-bit D / C field 815, a 12-bit serial number 825, and a data field.
- the PDCP PDU When using a 7-bit serial number, the PDCP PDU consists of a 1-bit D / C field 805, a 7-bit serial number 810, and a data field.
- the D / C field is information indicating whether the corresponding PDU is a data PDU or a control PDU.
- the data field contains higher layer data such as an IP packet.
- the length of the PDCP serial number may be changed.
- an operation of processing various variables and stored data in accordance with the changed length of the serial number may be defined, but this may lead to an increase in the complexity of the terminal and the system.
- the complexity is avoided by removing the current PDCP entity and resetting the PDCP entity. Data loss is minimized by moving to the newly set PDCP entity instead of discarding the data stored in the removed PDCP entity.
- the source base station determines handover with the target base station (920). The determination is made by the source base station in consideration of the load condition of the current cell, the channel condition of the terminal, and the like.
- the source base station transmits a control message requesting handover to the target base station.
- the message includes the following information.
- Target Cell ID Identifier of the handover target cell
- the E-RAB corresponds to a radio bearer and an Evolved Packet System (EPS) bearer and is identified by an eps bearer identifier (eps-bearerIdentity).
- the information includes an EPS bearer identifier (eps-bearerIdentity) and required QoS information for each EPS bearer.
- the bearer is a path for processing data requiring a certain QoS, and is named as an EPS bearer between the UE and the S-GW and as an E-RAB between the UE and the ENB.
- One or two radio bearers are configured per E-RAB.
- RRC context RRC context: the configuration information set by the source base station to the terminal and the performance information of the terminal (for example, whether to support the extended PDCP SN).
- step 930 the target base station transmits a control message to accept the handover to the source base station, and the control message includes the following information.
- -E-RABs Admitted List A list of E-RABs set by the target base station.
- the target base station may set only some of the E-RABs requested by the source base station.
- Target eNB To Source eNB Transparent Container Control information transmitted from the target eNB to the UE is stored. More specifically, an RRC message indicating handover is stored. If the release of the source base station is higher than the release of the target base station, or if the extended base station uses the extended PDCP SN but the target base station does not use the extended PDCP SN, the handover command message uses the extended PDCP SN. Control information for releasing a Data Radio Bearer (DRB) and setting a new DRB corresponding to the EPS bearer connected to the DRB is included. The newly set DRB is set not to use the extended PDCP SN.
- DRB Data Radio Bearer
- the source base station transmits an RRC control message indicating handover to the terminal.
- the control message includes the following information.
- Mobility control information (mobilityControlInfo): information including target cell related information, for example, frequency and PCI of the target cell.
- Radio resource configuration information (radioResourceConfigDedicated): DRB configuration information to be applied in the target cell.
- the DRB Data Radio Bearer
- the DRB is mapped one-to-one with the EPS bearer, and the mapping relationship between the DRB and the EPS bearer is indicated by including the EPS bearer identifier in the DRB configuration information.
- any EPS bearer x is mapped to any DRB y and uses the extended PDCP serial number in DRB y
- the base station sends the DRB y to the terminal. Release (or release) and create a new DRB z using the common PDCP serial number and instruct it to map with EPS bearer x.
- the operation may include fullCofig in an RRCConnectionReconfiguration message (hereinafter referred to as signaling method 1), or newly set control information and DRB for releasing a DRB connected to the EPS bearer, and then set the EPS.
- signaling method 1 fullCofig in an RRCConnectionReconfiguration message
- signaling method 2 newly set control information and DRB for releasing a DRB connected to the EPS bearer
- signaling method 2 The operation may include fullCofig in an RRCConnectionReconfiguration message (hereinafter referred to as signaling method 1), or newly set control information and DRB for releasing a DRB connected to the EPS bearer, and then set the EPS.
- This is possible by including control information connecting with the bearer in one RRC control message (hereinafter referred to as signaling method 2).
- the inclusion of fullConfig in the RRCConnectionReconfiguration message releases all DRBs set by the current RRC configuration, e.g., DRB configuration information, and the new
- step 940 the terminal releases the DRB instructed to release. If the signaling method 2 is used, the terminal releases the DRB including the drb identifier (drb-identity) in the control information called drb-ToReleaseList. At this time, the terminal releases the RLC first and releases the PDCP. If signaling method 1 was used, it releases DRBs mapped to eps bearer identifiers (eps-BearerIdentity) listed in drb-ToAddModList.
- drb-identity the control information called drb-ToReleaseList.
- the terminal releases the RLC first and releases the PDCP. If signaling method 1 was used, it releases DRBs mapped to eps bearer identifiers (eps-BearerIdentity) listed in drb-ToAddModList.
- the DRBs mapped to the eps bearer identifier (eps-BearerIdentity) also belonging to the current UE configuration are released. do. Releasing the DRB means discarding the data stored in the PDCP transmit / receive entity and the RLC transmit / receive entity and removing the entities. However, if the condition described in step 935 is satisfied, the terminal does not discard the data even if it releases the DRB. This is described in more detail in step 950.
- step 945 the UE sets up the DRB instructed to set up.
- the UE sets up the DRB with reference to drb-ToAddModList.
- drb-ToAddModLIst is configured as shown in Table 1 below, and details can be found in TS36.331.
- step 950 the UE identifies DRBs that meet the following conditions.
- the terminal transfers the forwarded data stored in the released DRB to the upper layer for the DRB meeting the following conditions.
- any eps bearer identifier (eps-bearerIdentity) is part of the configuration of the current terminal and DRB whose eps-BearerIdentity value is included in the drb-ToAddModList and is part of the current UE configuration). That is, when receiving the RRC connection reset message including fullConfig, if the mapped eps bearer identifier (eap-BearerIdentity) among the currently set DRB is also included in the drb-ToAddModList, the eps bearer identifier (eps) in the current configuration (eps) It is determined that the DRB for -bearerIdentity) meets the conditions.
- a new DRB corresponding to an arbitrary eps bearer identifier (eps-bearerIdentity) is released through one RRC control message and corresponding to the eps bearer identifier (eps-bearerIdentity).
- eps-bearerIdentity an arbitrary eps bearer identifier
- eps-bearerIdentity an arbitrary eps bearer identifier
- the UE does not discard the data stored in the DRB immediately before being released, and forwards the data to the upper layer for the forward data and to the newly set DRB for the reverse data.
- the data stored in the DRB means data that can be assembled into an RLC SDU and data stored in a PDCP window among data stored in the RLC receiving buffer in the forward direction.
- RLC is first released to the DRB, and then PDCP is released so that data stored in the RLC is transferred to the upper layer through the PDCP.
- PDCP is the upper layer, etc.).
- the data stored in the DRB means data stored in the transmission buffer of the PDCP in the reverse direction.
- the data stored in the PDCP transmission buffer may be the following data.
- type 1 data data that has never been passed to the lower layer (PDCP SDU for which no PDU has been submitted to the lower layer yet)
- type 2 data PDCP SDUs for which a corresponding PDU has been submitted to lower layers of data that has been delivered to the lower layer but has not been committed to successful transmission by the lower layer. prior to the PDCP release, starting from the first SDU for which the delivery of the corresponding PDUs has not been confirmed by the lower layer.
- type 2 data only data that has been delivered to a lower layer but has not yet been successfully transmitted may be defined as type 2 data.
- up to PDCP SDU [100] is stored in the PDCP transmit buffer, up to PDCP SDU [90], and the transmission of PDCP SDU [75] and PDCP SDU [80] is committed.
- the type 1 data is PDCP SDU [91] to PDCP SDU [100] and the type 2 data is PDCP SDU [75] to PDCP SDU [90].
- type 2 data is PDCP SDU [75] and PDCP SDU [80].
- the PDCP is newly set up by mapping the type 1 data 1015 and the type 2 data 1020 of the PDCP 1005 to the same eps bearer identifier (eps-bearerIdnetity) for the DRB meeting the above conditions. Local transfer to 1010.
- the delivery order of PDCP SDU is delivered in the order of COUNT of PDCP SDU.
- the PDCP SDUs are delivered in the order in which they arrived in the PDCP buffer (ie, the SDUs that arrived first).
- the COUNT is a serial number used for non-encrypting / deactivating in PDCP, having a total size of 32 bits, HFN (32-n) bit in front, and nCP bit after PDCP SN.
- n is the length of the PDCP SN.
- step 955 the source base station forwards the following SDUs to the target base station.
- step 960 the UE acquires forward synchronization with the target cell and performs a random access procedure. If the random access is successfully completed, it is determined that the handover is completed successfully and transmits an RRC CONNECTION RECONFIGURATION COMPLETE message.
- step 965 the terminal and the base station initialize the Hyper Frame Number (HFN) and the PDCP SN to zero.
- the target base station sequentially transmits PDCP SDUs received from the source base station.
- the UE receives PDCP configuration information for a predetermined DRB.
- the PDCP configuration information is included in higher information called drb-ToAddModList and transmitted to the terminal.
- the UE determines whether the DRB is an RLC UM bearer or an RLC AM bearer. If it is an AM bearer, it proceeds to step 1115 and if it is a UM bearer, it proceeds to step 1120.
- the RLC UM bearer is a bearer in which RLC UM is configured as an RLC operation mode
- the RLC AM bearer is a bearer in which RLC AM is configured as an RLC operation mode.
- RLC Unacknowledged Mode (UM) is an operation mode in which Automatic Request (ARQ) is not provided
- Acknowledged Mode is an operation mode in which ARQ is provided.
- step 1115 the UE checks whether the PDCP configuration information includes control information called an extended header, which is an indicator indicating the use of the extended serial number, and if so, determines whether to use a 15-bit serial number. If no information is included, decide to use a 12-bit serial number.
- control information called an extended header, which is an indicator indicating the use of the extended serial number
- step 1120 the UE checks whether the extended header is included in the PDCP configuration information, and if so, proceeds to step 1130, and if not, proceeds to step 1125.
- step 1125 the UE determines the length of the PDCP serial number as one of 7 bits and 12 bits according to the control information called pdcp-SN-size.
- the UE receives two pieces of information, an extended header and a pdcp-SN-size, as information indicating a serial number of the PDCP.
- the terminal ignores the length of the serial number indicated in pdcp-SN-size and uses the 15-bit serial number along the extended header.
- the PDCP serial number length of an RLC UM bearer is either 7 bits or 12 bits, and the PDCP serial number of an RLC AM bearer is 12 bits. This is because the RLC UM bearer is usually mapped with low speed data, so it is sometimes unnecessary to use a 12-bit serial number.
- the pdcp-SN-size information is signaled only for the PDCP mapped with the RLC UM bearer, indicating whether to use 7 bits or 12 bits for the PDCP serial number.
- the present invention indicates one of 12 bits and 15 bits as the length of the serial number by using a field called an extended header for the RLC AM bearer.
- one of 7 bits, 12 bits, and 15 bits is indicated by the length of the serial number using two fields, an extended header and an pdcp-SN-size.
- the extended header may or may not be signaled, and the pdcp-SN-size (pdcp-SN-size) is always signaled. Is used, regardless of the value indicated by pdcp-SN-size, a 15-bit serial number is used. If the extended header is not signaled, pdcp-SN-size is used. 7 depending on the value indicated by Use one of the bit or 12-bit serial number.
- the UE sets up PDCP according to the PDCP configuration information.
- the DRB mapped with the PDCP is also set up according to the information included in the drb-ToAddModList.
- step 1140 the UE checks whether the RRC control message including the PDCP configuration information is included with control information called fullConfig.
- the inclusion of the control information means that signaling method 1 is used, and the terminal proceeds to step 1145. If fullConfig is not included, the process proceeds to step 1160 to end the process.
- step 1145 the UE checks whether the newly set eps bearer identifier (eps-bearerIdneity) of the PDCP and DRB exists in the current configuration of the UE. In other words, before receiving the RRC control message including fullConfig, it is checked whether there is a DRB having the same bearer identifier (eps-bearerIdentity) among the newly set DRBs among the DRBs configured in the terminal. If not, the process proceeds to step 1160 to end the process. If yes, go to step 1150.
- eps bearerIdneity eps-bearerIdneity
- the UE releases the RLC entity of the DRB. If two RLC entities are configured in the DRB, both RLC entities are released.
- the data that can be assembled into the RLC SDU among the out-of-sequence data stored in the reception buffer of the RLC entity are assembled and delivered to the upper layer, that is, the PDCP layer.
- the operation of transferring data of the RLC entity to a higher layer may be performed only when the length of the PDCP SN is changed.
- step 1155 the UE releases the PDCP entity of the DRB.
- the PDCP SDUs which are not arranged in the PDCP receive buffer, are delivered to the upper layer.
- predetermined data that is, type 1 data and type 2 data, among the data stored in the PDCP transmission buffer are transferred to the PDCP transmission buffer of the newly set PDCP entity.
- the PDCP entity is released first and the RLC entity is released.
- the DRB releases the RLC entity first and releases the PDCP entity. Allows delivery to higher layers before release.
- the operation of transferring data of the PDCP entity to a higher layer and in-device delivery to a newly set PDCP entity may be performed only when the length of the PDCP SN is changed.
- step 1160 the terminal terminates the PDCP configuration process.
- carrier integration is briefly demonstrated in FIG.
- multiple carriers are generally transmitted and received over several frequency bands.
- a carrier 1215 having a forward center frequency of f1 and a carrier having a forward center frequency of f3 1210 are transmitted from the base station 1205, one terminal conventionally uses one carrier of the two carriers.
- a terminal having carrier aggregation capability may transmit and receive data from multiple carriers at the same time.
- the base station 1205 may increase the transmission speed of the terminal 1230 by allocating more carriers to the terminal 1230 having a carrier aggregation capability according to a situation.
- carrier aggregation integrating forward and reverse carriers transmitted and received by one base station is called carrier aggregation.
- carrier aggregation may be understood as a terminal transmitting and receiving data through multiple cells at the same time. will be. This increases the maximum transfer rate in proportion to the number of carriers integrated.
- the terminal receiving data through any forward carrier or transmitting data through any reverse carrier means that a control channel provided by a cell corresponding to a center frequency and a frequency band characterizing the carrier and It has the same meaning as transmitting and receiving data using the data channel.
- carrier aggregation will be expressed in particular as having multiple serving cells set up, and terms such as primary serving cell (hereinafter referred to as PCell) and secondary serving cell (hereinafter referred to as SCell), or activated serving cell will be used.
- PCell primary serving cell
- SCell secondary serving cell
- the terms have the same meaning as used in the LTE mobile communication system, and details can be found in TS 36.331 and TS 36.321.
- terms such as a time alignment timer, an activation / deactivation MAC control element, and a C-RNTI MAC CE are used, and a detailed description thereof is found in TS 36.321. can see.
- TAG Timing Advance Group
- P-TAG Primary-TAG
- S-TAG Secondary-TAG
- P-TAG is TAG with PCell
- S-TAG is TAG with only PCell without PCell.
- SCell 1, SCell 2, SCell 3, SCell 4 are configured and uplink is configured for all the SCells.
- the base station sets PCell and SCell1 to P-TAG, and SCell2, SCell3, SCell4 is set to an arbitrary S-TAG, for example, S-TAG # 1, and related information is transmitted to the terminal by including SCell configuration information and TAG configuration information in a predetermined control message.
- the predetermined control message includes information that SCell 1 belongs to P-TAG and SCell2, SCell3, and SCell4 belong to S-TAG # 1. Instead of including all of the information in the control message, the following information may be omitted to simplify the configuration of the message and reduce overhead.
- a target to belong to the P-TAG may be limited to a serving cell for which no TAG related information is indicated and the reverse direction is set.
- the terminal manages backward transmission timing for each TAG. Since the backward transmission timings of serving cells belonging to different TAGs are different from each other, a reverse transmission in the nth subframe of a given serving cell may overlap with the backward transmission in the (n + 1) th subframe of another serving cell. Can be. At this time, it is necessary to define which reverse maximum transmission output of the terminal is determined by applying the required transmission output of the reverse subframe.
- FIG 13 illustrates the operation of the terminal for setting the TAG.
- step 1305 the UE receives a control message for configuring at least one SCell.
- the UE checks whether the TAG related information is included for each SCell to set the TAG of the SCells set through the control message. If it is included, the SCell attaches the SCell to the S-TAG indicated in the TAG-related information, and performs backward transmission on the SCell by applying the same backward timing as the serving cells belonging to the S-TAG in the future.
- step 1315 checks whether the reverse direction is set in the SCell, that is, whether various kinds of reverse configuration information (ul-Configuration) for the SCell are included. If the reverse direction is established, the process proceeds to step 1325 and the SCell belongs to the P-TAG, and the reverse transmission is performed in the future by applying the same reverse timing as the PCell.
- the reverse direction is established, the process proceeds to step 1325 and the SCell belongs to the P-TAG, and the reverse transmission is performed in the future by applying the same reverse timing as the PCell.
- the terminal proceeds to step 1330 and the SCell does not belong to the TAG.
- FIG. 14 illustrates UE operation when backward transmission of serving cells belonging to different TAGs occurs in subframes adjacent to each other.
- the UE will perform backward transmission in serving cells belonging to different TAGs, and the backward transmission will be performed in two adjacent subframes, and the backward transmission timing of the two serving cells is not the same.
- backward transmission is scheduled in the reverse subframe N 1510 of the serving cell X 1505
- backward transmission is scheduled in the reverse subframe (N + 1) 1520 of the serving cell Y 1515
- the boundaries of the reverse subframes do not match. For this reason, although the backward transmission is performed in the adjacent subframe instead of the same subframe, the UE recognizes that there is a part 1530 where the two subframes overlap.
- the UE calculates P CMAX, c and backward transmission output to be applied to the preceding subframe and P CMAX , c and backward transmission output to be applied to the following subframe as follows.
- the serving cell of the preceding subframe is called serving cell X
- serving cell of the following subframe is called serving cell Y.
- P CMAX, c is a maximum reverse transmission output defined by a carrier (or more precisely, serving cell), and transmits a transmission output class (P powerclass ) of a terminal, a maximum transmission output (P EMAX ) allowed in a serving cell, and system information.
- the UE decides by applying the maximum transmit power reduction value (A-MPR, Additional Maximum Power Reduction) provided, and basically does not consider the reverse transmission of other serving cells. Details are described in 36.101.
- the terminal calculates the transmission output required for the uplink transmission by applying the transmission format, the amount of transmission resources, the path loss, and determines the smaller of the value and P CMAX, c as the backward transmission output.
- step 1415 the UE checks whether any one of condition 3 or condition 4 holds.
- the SRS transmission resource is set in the preceding subframe, and the UE does not transmit the SRS, but the PUSCH is to be transmitted in the portion overlapping the SRS transmission resource in the frequency domain, and the portion in which the preceding subframe and the subsequent subframe overlap (1530). ) Is shorter than the OFDM symbol length.
- the SRS transmission resource is set in the following subframe, and the UE is not scheduled to transmit PUSCH in the following subframe and is scheduled for SRS transmission.
- SRS transmission is performed in the last OFDM symbol of a given subframe.
- PUSCH transmission in the frequency domain in which the SRS transmission resource is configured is performed only in the remaining OFDM symbols except for the last OFDM symbol, and PUSCH transmission in the frequency domain in which the SRS transmission resource is not configured is performed in all OFDM symbols. Therefore, if the UE transmits only the SRS in the following subframe, the UE transmits only in the last OFDM symbol of the subframe, and therefore, even though backward transmission is performed in two adjacent subframes, the UE transmits simultaneously in the preceding subframe and the following subframe. Do not do it.
- the UE transmits only the PUSCH in the preceding subframe and the frequency resource over which the PUSCH transmission is made overlaps with the SRS transmission resource, the UE does not transmit in the last OFDM symbol of the preceding subframe, even though two adjacent subframes exist. Even if backward transmission is performed in a frame, transmission is not simultaneously performed in a preceding subframe and a subsequent subframe.
- step 1420 If at least one of the conditions 3 or 4 is satisfied, since the preceding subframe and the subsequent subframe overlap each other, the actual backward transmission does not overlap, and the terminal proceeds to step 1420.
- step 1425 If at least one of the above conditions is not satisfied, the terminal proceeds to step 1425.
- step 1420 the UE applies backward transmission output calculated in step 1410 to perform backward transmission in serving cell X and serving cell Y.
- step 1425 the UE performs backward transmission in the serving cell X and the serving cell Y by applying the backward transmission output calculated in step 1410 in the non-overlapping time period.
- the transmission output to be applied to the overlapping time period is determined by selecting one of the following two methods, and performs backward transmission with the determined transmission output.
- the UE recalculates P CMAX, c of the serving cell X in consideration of the transmission of the serving cell Y, and recalculates P CMAX, c of the serving cell Y in consideration of the transmission of the serving cell X. More specifically, the terminal considers the frequency band to which the serving cell X belongs and the frequency band to which the serving cell Y belongs, and if the frequency bands are a predetermined frequency band , the minimum value of P CMAX , c (P CMAX_L , c) is a predetermined value. Lower as much as The predetermined value is a value that is applied to adjust an additional 'unwanted radiation spurious emission' generated when reverse transmission is performed simultaneously in different frequency bands to an appropriate level. Can be.
- the backward transmission output for each cell is again determined by applying the newly determined P CMAX , c , and if necessary, the final backward transmission output is determined by decreasing the sum of the determined backward transmission outputs at the same rate so as not to exceed a predetermined value. do.
- the UE performs backward transmission only in the serving cell to which the PUCCH is transmitted (that is, the backward transmission output of the corresponding cell calculated in step 1410). Do not perform reverse transmission in other subframes (that is, set the reverse transmission output to 0).
- the UE performs backward transmission only in the serving cell of the preceding subframe in a region where the subframes overlap and performs backward transmission in another subframe. Do not perform. That is, in the serving cell X, backward transmission is performed for the entire reverse subframe N, and in the serving cell Y, backward transmission is performed only in the remaining portions except for the portion 1530 overlapping with the subframe N in the reverse subframe (N + 1).
- 16 is a block diagram illustrating a configuration of a terminal according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention.
- a terminal includes a transceiver 1605, a controller 1610, a multiplexing and demultiplexing unit 1615, a control message processor / RRC controller 1630, and various higher layer processors. (1620, 1625).
- the transceiver 1605 receives data and a predetermined control signal through a forward channel of a serving cell and transmits data and a predetermined control signal through a reverse channel. When a plurality of serving cells are set, the transceiver 1605 performs data transmission and control signal transmission and reception through the plurality of serving cells.
- the multiplexing and demultiplexing unit 1615 multiplexes data generated by the upper layer processing units 1620 and 1625 or the control message processing unit 1630 or demultiplexes the data received by the transmitting and receiving unit 1605 so that an appropriate upper layer processing unit 1620 is applied. 1625 or the control message processor 1630.
- the control message processing unit 1630 is an RRC layer device and processes the control message received from the base station and takes necessary actions. For example, the RRC control message is received and SCell related information and DRX related information are transmitted to the controller. The control message processor also determines which SCell belongs to which TAG and transmits the related information to the controller. The control message processor also determines whether or not to indicate the fullConfig command and performs the release and configuration of the PDCP / RLC layer device.
- the higher layer processing units 1620 and 1625 may be configured for each service. Data generated from user services such as FTP (File Transfer Protocol) or Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is processed and transmitted to the multiplexing and demultiplexing unit 1615 or data transmitted from the multiplexing and demultiplexing unit 1615 is transferred. Process it and pass it to the higher-level service application.
- the upper layer processor is composed of an RLC layer device, a PDCP layer device, and an IP layer device.
- the controller 1610 checks scheduling commands received through the transceiver 1605, for example, reverse grants, and the transceiver 1605 and the multiplexing and demultiplexing unit 1615 to perform reverse transmission on the appropriate transmission resource at an appropriate time. ).
- the controller also performs a DRX operation and controls CSI or SRS transmission.
- the control unit also calculates the reverse transmission output and controls the appropriate reverse transmission output to be applied.
- General procedures for SCell configuration and general procedures for activation / deactivation are managed.
- the controller 1610 determines whether a first condition is satisfied whether a current subframe exists between a first time point at which the DRX configuration information is received and a second time point at which an event triggering application of a short DRX cycle occurs.
- the controller 1610 applies a preset DRX cycle when the first condition is satisfied.
- the controller 1610 determines whether the second condition is satisfied whether the inactivity timer expires or the DRX command is received in the current subframe. If the second condition is satisfied, the controller 1610 determines whether short DRX cycle related information is received from the base station. If the short DRX cycle related information is received, the controller 1610 applies the short DRX cycle to perform a DRX operation.
- controller 1610 performs a DRX operation by applying a long DRX cycle when the short DRX cycle related information is not received.
- the controller 1610 determines whether an inactivity timer is driven in the current subframe when the second condition is not satisfied. If the determination result is that the inactivity timer is running, the controller 1610 determines whether the short DRX cycle related information is received from the base station, and if so, the controller 1610 applies the short DRX cycle to perform a DRX operation.
- the controller 1610 checks whether the short DRX cycle timer expires in the current subframe when the inactivity timer is not running, and performs a DRX operation by applying a long DRX cycle when the inactivity timer expires.
- the controller 1610 determines whether the short DRX cycle related information is received from the base station, and performs the DRX operation by applying the short DRX cycle.
