- This invention refers to the field of products and active ingredients for controlling plagues, preferably for the application in agriculture, and more particularly it refers to herbicide compositions prepared as formulations including, as active ingredient, glyphosate in its acid form, with which a product with higher agronomic effectiveness is obtained.
- Glyphosate is an active ingredient which is very known within the field of agriculture due to its wide range of activity and, in its acid form, corresponds to Formula:
- Glyphosate currently one of the manly employed agrochemicals, is applied by spraying via different types of spraying machines; therefore it should be dissolved in water for forming what is called as spraying solution.
- glyphosate in its acid form has a very low solubility in water, therefore it is salified in order to be dissolved and employed in its forms of spraying solution or spraying.
- Traditional glyphosate formulations, either in liquid or solid form, are, for example, salts of amines, ammonium, potassium, etc., in order for the product to be soluble both in its commercial presentation and in the spraying solution.
- this patent does not mention anything about achieving sufficiently low pH values, for example such as 1 ,2-1 ,6 (in a 1% solution in distilled water), for obtaining better adherences of spraying due to differences in electric charges between the sprayed product and the leaf mass.
- This patent does not either discloses anything about the possibility of achieving surface tension values sufficiently low so as to obtain a wetting effect with important values, for example, below 39 dynes/cm in the spraying solution at a doses of use, in order to benefit distribution and diffusion over leaf surface.

- polyglycolic ether is mixed with an amount equivalent to that of the isopropyl alcohol, until obtaining a wetting solution.
- This mixture defined for the purposes of this description as wetting solution, allows to incorporate it to the solution of strong acids, that is, glyphosate and phosphoric acid, with the polyglycolic ether acting as wetting agent.
- This wetting agent is pre-dissolved in isopropyl alcohol which acts as solvent of the polyglycolic ether in order for it not to be gelified when being added to the acid solution. Then, such solutions are mixed, that is, the strong acid solution and the wetting solution, with the hydroxyetil diphosphonic acid which acts as anti-crystallizing agent in the spraying solution.
- the addition of the wetting solution to isopropanol makes that the surface tension of the commercial product added to 1 ,5% in water, as a spraying solution, reach a value of 35-40 dynes/cm, compared to the surface tension of 72 dynes/cm which the water of the spraying solution has.
- the result of the strong acid solution (orthophosphoric acid and acid glyphosate) is heated at 70°C for making possible a perfect solution and achieving concentrations which are searched for the product of the invention. Afterwards the addition of the remaining excipients of the formula is carried out.
- a spraying solution which, according to one approach, comprises from 1 to 2 parts of the composition of the invention and about 100 parts of water, wherein the solution has a pH of at least 1 ,2 and, preferably 1 ,4.
- this glyphosate composition make that the spraying solution be more stable, mainly at cold temperatures due to the addition of the hydroxy ethyl diphosphonic acid.
- the composition of the invention allows to achieve concentration percentages of the active ingredient, acid glyphosate, of 320 g/l, which exceeds existing commercial formulations of 186 g/l. This is achieved due to the combination of the formula of the invention, that is, strong acid solution, plus wetting solution, plus anti-crystallizing agents, to which it should be added the achievements of the productive process with heat contribution preventing the product obtained from crystallizing and the spraying solution which performed therewith at the doses of common use, even being close to the solubility limit.
- the formation of a wetting solution with alcohol and the manner of its incorporation, are also an achievement of this invention as a combination of final effective effect was achieved.
- the wetting agent of this composition Genapol C070, is pre-dissolved in isopropanol (isopropyl alcohol) for forming a solution-wetting agent which is mixed with the mixture of glyphosate and phosphoric acid so as to reduce surface tension of the composition of the invention for being able to be dissolved in the water with which it forms the spraying solution.
- a surface tension of about 35-39 dynes/cm is achieved in the spraying solution at the concentration of use, which is almost a hyper-wetting effect and allows to omit the addition of co-adjuvants (wetting agents) in addition to the spraying solution.
- a strengthening of absorption is achieved due to the content of the specific surfactants, that is, ecological ethoxylated fatty alcohols, and the molecule size, since the acid molecule is smaller than that of the salt.
- the composition has a lower pH, 1 ,5 , preferably 1 ,4 , which generates the product in the spraying solution, and which allows a greater spraying adherence, due to the electric charges of the product, to the leaf mass.

It can be noted that at the doses of 1 ,7 l/ha (544g of acid/ha) the product of the invention ha an equal or better performance than the absolute sample (1068g of acid/ha).
