図1(a)は、上記工作機械を例示するCNC旋盤1を模式的に示す斜視図である。この旋盤1は、主軸100を有する主軸台102、タレット4を有するタレット刃物台1a、NC(Numerical Control;数値制御)装置80、を備えるNC旋盤である。なお、X、Y、Zは互いに直交し、X方向はX軸という制御軸に沿った同じ向きの方向であり、Y方向はY軸という制御軸に沿った同じ方向であり、Z方向はZ軸という制御軸に沿った同じ方向である。
まず、上記旋盤1に例示される工作機械の概略を説明する。
なお、上述した略円筒状の形状は、回転可能な種々の筒状の形状を含み、厳密な円筒形状に限定されない。
また、割り出された回転工具ユニット(2b,102b)にユニット旋回駆動軸(12,112)からの旋回駆動力を伝えるためのユニット旋回連結軸16,116が工作機械に設けられてもよい。図2~4,7,8に示すユニット旋回連結軸16,116は、割り出し軸AX1とは異なる向きの軸(中間回転軸AX4,AX5)を中心として回転可能とされている。
図2,3は、タレット面3に取り付けた工具ユニット2を旋回制御する旋回機構付きタレット刃物台1aの要部を一部断面視して示す第一の例である。便宜上、割り出し位置のタレット面3に取り付けられた回転工具ユニットを符号2b、非割り出し位置のタレット面に取り付けられた回転工具ユニットを符号2cで示している。
タレット刃物台1aは、刃物台本体6、タレット4、タレット旋回駆動軸5、回転工具駆動軸8、ユニット旋回駆動軸12、ユニット旋回連結軸16、ギアボックス(連結軸支持部)13、ギアボックス支持軸21、等を備える。カップリング機構50から後側では、割り出し軸AX1を中心として、ギアボックス支持軸21、ユニット旋回駆動軸12、回転工具駆動軸8、タレット旋回駆動軸5、及び、刃物台本体6が内側から外側へ順に同軸状に配置されている。ユニット旋回駆動軸12、回転工具駆動軸8、及び、タレット旋回駆動軸5は、割り出し軸AX1を中心として別々に回転可能とされている。
ここで、回転工具駆動軸8とユニット旋回駆動軸12は別々に回転可能であるので、工具7を高速回転させながら旋回部45を低速で旋回させることができる。
図7,8は、ギアボックス支持軸30にクーラントの流路33を設けたタレット刃物台1aの要部を一部断面視して示す第二の例である。便宜上、割り出し位置のタレット面を符号3b、このタレット面3bに取り付けられた回転工具ユニットを符号2b、非割り出し位置のタレット面を符号3c、このタレット面3cに取り付けられた回転工具ユニットを符号2cで示している。
上記第一の例との差異は、ギアボックス支持軸30がクーラントの流路33を有する筒状であること、ギアボックス支持軸30の先端部21aに流路切換継手31が取り付けられていること、流路32b,32c等を有するフランジ32があること、及び、タレット4に流路4b,4cがあることである。流路切換継手31は、ギアボックス支持軸の流路33の先端部とフランジ32の流路32bとを繋ぐ流路34を有している。流路32b,32cは、流路4b,4cに繋がり、各タレット面3にクーラントを分配可能である。ギアボックス支持軸30の先端部21aは、フランジ32に対して回転可能に支持されている。第一の例と同じ構成については、説明を省略する。
図9,10は、タレット面103に取り付けた回転工具ユニット102bを旋回制御する旋回機構付きタレット刃物台1aの要部を一部断面視して示す第三の例である。便宜上、割り出し位置のタレット面103に取り付けられた回転工具ユニットを符号102b、非割り出し位置のタレット面に取り付けられた回転工具ユニットを符号102cで示している。
第三の例のタレット刃物台1aは、刃物台本体106、タレット104、タレット旋回駆動軸105、回転工具駆動軸108、回転工具連結軸131、ユニット旋回駆動軸112、ユニット旋回連結軸116、ギアボックス(連結軸支持部)113、ギアボックス支持軸121、等を備える。カップリング機構50から後側では、割り出し軸AX1を中心として、ギアボックス支持軸121、回転工具駆動軸108、ユニット旋回駆動軸112、タレット旋回駆動軸105、及び、刃物台本体106が内側から外側へ順に同軸状に配置されている。ユニット旋回駆動軸112、回転工具駆動軸108、及び、タレット旋回駆動軸105は、割り出し軸AX1を中心として別々に回転可能とされている。
本発明は、種々の変形例が考えられる。
例えば、ギアボックスに例示される連結軸支持部は、第三の例のように回転工具連結軸とユニット旋回連結軸の両方を回転可能に支持する以外にも、回転工具連結軸を支持しないでユニット旋回連結軸を回転可能に支持してもよいし、ユニット旋回連結軸を支持しないで回転工具連結軸を回転可能に支持してもよい。
回転工具駆動軸及びユニット旋回駆動軸の内側に設けられた支持軸の先端部にギアボックスを固定すると工作機械をコンパクトにすることができるので好適であるものの、このような支持軸とは異なる構造を採用することもできる。例えば、ギアボックスは、タレット前面より前方に設けられた割り出し軸を中心としない不旋回部材に固定されてもよい。この場合、第一の例のユニット旋回駆動軸12は中実の略円柱状でもよいし、第三の例の回転工具駆動軸108は中実の略円柱状でもよい。
また、従属請求項に係る構成要件を有しておらず独立請求項に係る構成要件のみからなる工作機械等でも、上述した基本的な作用、効果が得られる。
また、上述した実施形態及び変形例の中で開示した各構成を相互に置換したり組み合わせを変更したりした構成、公知技術並びに上述した実施形態及び変形例の中で開示した各構成を相互に置換したり組み合わせを変更したりした構成、等も実施可能である。本発明は、これらの構成等も含まれる。

Claims (3)
- 割り出し軸を中心として放射状に工具ユニットを取り付け可能なタレットと、
前記割り出し軸を中心として回転可能とされ、前記タレットに旋回駆動力を伝えるための筒状のタレット旋回駆動軸と、
前記割り出し軸を中心として回転可能とされ、前記タレットに取り付けられる回転工具ユニットの工具に回転駆動力を伝えるための回転工具駆動軸と、
該回転工具駆動軸とは別に前記割り出し軸を中心として回転可能とされ、前記タレットに取り付けられる回転工具ユニットに前記工具の回転軸の向きを変える旋回駆動力を伝えるためのユニット旋回駆動軸とを備え、
前記タレット旋回駆動軸の内側に前記回転工具駆動軸と前記ユニット旋回駆動軸とを同軸状に設けた、回転工具ユニットを取り付け可能な工作機械。 - 一端側が刃物台本体に取り付けられた支持軸を有し、
前記回転工具駆動軸と前記ユニット旋回駆動軸がともに筒状であり、
前記支持軸は前記割り出し軸を中心として前記回転工具駆動軸及び前記ユニット旋回駆動軸の内側に設けられ、
割り出された前記回転工具ユニットの工具に前記回転工具駆動軸からの回転駆動力を伝えるため前記割り出し軸とは異なる向きの軸を中心として回転可能とされた回転工具連結軸と、前記割り出された回転工具ユニットに前記ユニット旋回駆動軸からの旋回駆動力を伝えるため前記割り出し軸とは異なる向きの軸を中心として回転可能とされたユニット旋回連結軸と、の少なくとも一方を支持する連結軸支持部が前記支持軸の他端側に固定されている、請求項1に記載の回転工具ユニットを取り付け可能な工作機械。 - 前記割り出し軸とは異なる向きの軸を中心として前記回転工具連結軸と前記ユニット旋回連結軸とが同軸状に設けられた、請求項2に記載の回転工具ユニットを取り付け可能な工作機械。
