 RFID(Radio Frequency Identification)システムに用いられる無線装置の一例が、特許文献1に開示されている。この背景技術によれば、RFID用の送受信信号を処理する無線ICチップは、プリント配線回路基板に実装される。プリント配線回路基板にはまた、グランド電極とループ状電極とが形成される。ここで、ループ状電極は、無線ICチップと電気的に導通されるとともに、グランド電極と電磁界結合またはDC的に直接接続される。グランド電極によって受信された高周波信号はループ状電極を介して無線ICチップに入力され、無線ICチップから出力された高周波信号はループ状電極を介してグランド電極から外部に放射される。すなわち、グランド電極がRFIDシステムにおける放射素子として機能する。

 しかし、たとえばGSM(Global System for Mobile Communications;登録商標)システムのような別の高周波信号を送受信する無線通信システムがプリント配線回路基板に追加的に実装され、特にRFIDシステムとGSMシステムのような別の無線通信システムとの各々が対象とする周波数帯域が共通する場合、無線通信システムによって送信される高強度の高周波信号がRFIDシステム用の無線ICチップによって歪み、これによって生成された高調波成分がスプリアスとして、グランド電極やGSMシステム用のアンテナ素子から放射されてしまうことがある。
 つまり、RFIDシステム等の第1無線通信システムおよびGSMシステム等の第2無線通信システムを搭載した通信装置では、上述の高調波成分等の生成およびその放射によって通信性能が低下してしまうことがある。
 それゆえに、この発明の主たる目的は、複数の通信システムを搭載した場合であっても、各システムの通信性能を十分に発揮することが可能な、通信装置を提供することである。
 この発明に従う通信装置(10:実施例で相当する参照符号。以下同じ)は、第1周波数帯をキャリア周波数とする第1通信信号を用いて通信し、第1通信信号を処理する第1無線通信用集積回路(32cp)を有する第1通信システム(28)、および第2周波数帯をキャリア周波数とする第2通信信号を用いて通信し、第2通信信号を処理する第2無線通信用集積回路(24)を有する第2通信システム(20)を備え、第1通信システムは、第1周波数帯を通過帯域とし、第2通信信号もしくはその高調波成分を減衰させるフィルタ回路(30fc1~30fc6)をさらに有する。
 好ましくは、第2周波数帯は第1周波数帯近傍または第1周波数帯の高調波近傍の周波数帯である。
 好ましくは、第1通信システムは、第1無線通信用集積回路と接続され、第1通信信号を放射する第1放射体(16gd)をさらに備え、第2通信システムは、第2無線通信用集積回路と接続され、第2通信信号を放射する第2放射体(26)をさらに備える。
 より好ましくは、第1放射体は装置筐体内に設けられたグランド電極に相当する。
 さらに好ましくは、第2通信システムはグランド電極に電気的に接続される。
 或る形態では、第1通信システム、および第2通信システムは、共通のグランド電極に異なる給電点で接続されており、フィルタ回路は、グランド電極の給電点と、第1無線通信用集積回路との間に設けられている。
 好ましくは、第1無線通信集積回路および第1放射体は互いに並列する2つの信号線によって接続される。
 或る局面では、フィルタ回路は2つの信号線(LN1, LN2)にそれぞれ割り当てられた2つのフィルタ要素(L1c, L1e, C1f, C1h, L1d, L1f, C1g, C1i)を含む。
 他の局面では、2つの信号線は差動線路に相当し、フィルタ回路はバランスフィルタ回路に相当する。
 その他の局面では、フィルタ回路は2つの信号線の間に直列接続されたインダクタ(L1i, L1j)およびキャパシタ(C1j, C1k)を含む。
 好ましくは、第1通信システムはフィルタ回路の通過帯域幅を広げる広帯域化回路(30w)をさらに有する。
 好ましくは、第1通信システムは第1無線通信用集積回路を搭載する基板(30)をさらに有し、基板は複数の基材層(30is)と複数の導体層(30cd)とを積層してなり、フィルタ回路は、導体層によって構成され、基板に内蔵される。
 好ましくは、第1通信システムは、第1周波数帯として900MHz帯を使用するRFIDシステムであり、第2通信システムは、第2周波数帯として850MHz帯または900MHz帯を使用するGSMシステムである。
 好ましくは、無線通信デバイス(28)は上述の通信装置に用いられ、第1無線通信用集積回路と、第1無線通信用集積回路が搭載され、フィルタ回路を内蔵した基板とからなる。
 第2通信システムで用いられる第2通信信号が第1通信システムの第1無線通信用集積回路に入力されると、第2通信信号に歪みが生じ、第2通信信号の通信特性が劣化してしまうことがあるが、第1通信システムに上記のようなフィルタ回路が設けられているため、第2通信システムの通信特性が第1通信システムによって大きく阻害されることを抑制することができる。特に、第1周波数帯と第2周波数帯とが近い場合、第2通信信号の高調波成分が第1無線通信用集積回路において生成されてしまうことがあるが、生成された高調波成分は、第1無線通信用集積回路の入出力端に設けられたフィルタ回路において減衰される。これによって、第2通信信号の高調波成分が放射されてしまうのを抑制することができる。また、フィルタ回路は第1通信信号が属する第1周波数帯を通過帯域とするため、フィルタ回路が第1通信システムの通信性能を大きく阻害することはない。これによって、複数の通信システムを一体化しても、各通信システムの通信性能を十分に発揮することができる。
 この発明の上述の目的,その他の目的,特徴および利点は、図面を参照して行う以下の実施例の詳細な説明から一層明らかとなろう。

 以下、この発明の実施の形態を図面を参照しながら説明する。
[基本的構成]
 図1を参照して、この実施例の通信装置は、UHF帯RFIDシステムとUHF帯GSMシステムとを備えた移動体通信端末装置であって、基本的に次のように構成される。UHF帯RFIDシステム1は、UHF帯をキャリア周波数とする第1通信信号を用いて通信し、第1通信信号を処理する無線通信用の集積回路2を有する。このRFIDシステム1において、集積回路2は、プリント配線板等に配置されたグランド電極GNDの第1給電点PS1に接続されており、このグランド電極GNDが、RFIDシステム1の放射素子として利用されている。UHF帯GSMシステム3は、UHF帯をキャリア周波数とする第2通信信号を用いて通信し、第2通信信号を処理する無線通信用の集積回路4を有する。GSMシステム3において、集積回路4は、RF部とBB部を含む。RF部は送信信号と受信信号の切り替え等を主に担うブロックであり、BB部は、送受信信号の変復調等を主に担う。この集積回路4は、アンテナANTおよびグランド電極GNDの第2給電点PS2に接続されており、両者を放射素子として利用した、いわゆる筐体ダイポール型のアンテナ構成を採っている。ここで、UHF帯RFIDシステム1は、UHF帯を通過帯域とし、第2通信信号の高調波成分を減衰させるLPF5をさらに有する。なお、第1給電点PS1と第2給電点PS2とは同じグランド電極GND上に形成されているが、その形成箇所は異なる。
 UHF帯GSMシステム3で用いられる第2通信信号がUHF帯RFIDシステム1の集積回路2に入力されると、第2通信信号の高調波成分が集積回路2において生成されてしまうことがあるが、生成された高調波成分は、集積回路2の入出力端に設けられたLPF5において減衰される。これによって、第2通信信号の高調波成分がRFIDシステム1から出力されてしまうのを抑制することができ、ひいては、第2通信信号の高調波成分がアンテナANTやグランド電極GNDから放射されてしまったり、GSMシステムや他のシステムに影響を与えてしまったりするのを抑制することができる。
 また、LPF5は第1通信信号が属するUHF帯を通過帯域とするため、LPF5がUHF帯RFIDシステム1の通信性能を大きく阻害することはない。これによって、複数の通信システムを一体化しても、各通信システムの通信性能を十分に発揮することができる。
[実施例]
 図2(A)~図2(B)を参照して、この実施例の通信装置10は、主面が長方形をなすプリント配線板12を含む。プリント配線板12は、通信装置10の端末筐体の内部に配置される。プリント配線板12の一方主面には導電性の配線14が形成され、プリント配線板12の内部には板状電極16が埋め込まれる。配線14および板状電極16は、複数のビアホール導体18,18,…によって互いに接続される。板状電極16は、操作部や表示部、電源部等、通信装置に搭載された各種機能部のグランド電極として機能している。
 プリント配線板12の一方主面にはまた、北米向けのGSM850規格または欧州向けのGSM900規格に従う移動体通信システム用の送受信ブロック20およびアンテナ26が実装され、さらにUHF帯RFID規格に従う近距離無線通信用のデバイス(以下では、「RFIDデバイス」と言う)28が実装される。送受信ブロック20は、詳しくは基底帯域に属する周波数信号を処理するBBIC(Base Band Integrated Circuit)チップ22と、UHF帯域に属する周波数信号を処理するフロントエンドモジュール24によって形成される。フロントエンドモジュール24は、送信経路と受信経路を切り替えるためのスイッチングICや、SAWフィルタ等のフィルタ回路を一体化したモジュール部品として構成されている。また、RFIDデバイス28は、給電回路基板30と、樹脂32rsによって封止された状態で給電回路基板30に搭載されたRFID用無線ICチップ32cpとによって形成される。
 つまり、本実施例においては、第1周波数帯であるUHF帯をキャリア周波数とする第1通信信号を用いた第1通信システムがUHF帯RFIDシステムであり、第2周波数帯であるUHF帯をキャリア周波数とする第2通信信号を用いた第2通信システムがUHF帯GSMシステムである。また、第1無線通信用集積回路であるUHF帯RFIDシステム用の集積回路がRFICチップ32cpとして構成されており、第2無線通信用集積回路であるGSMシステム用の集積回路がBBICチップ22およびフロントエンドモジュール24として構成されている。RFICチップ32cpは、ロジック回路やメモリ回路等を含み、通信信号の変復調等、各RFIDシステムの通信信号の処理を行う。
 なお、BBICチップ22は事前に形成された半田バンプを利用してプリント配線板12に実装され、フロントエンドモジュール24,アンテナ素子26およびRFIDデバイス28は半田ペーストを用いてプリント配線板12に実装される。
 図3を参照して、板状電極16の主面の輪郭は主面の左上に形成された切り欠きCT1を除いて長方形をなす。また、切り欠きCT1の近傍には、板状電極16の一方主面から他方主面に向かって貫通する長方形の貫通孔OP1が形成される。貫通孔OP1をなす長方形の長辺および短辺は、板状電極16の主面の輪郭をなす長方形の長辺および短辺と平行に延びる。切り欠きCT1は貫通孔OP1に達し、貫通孔OP1は切り欠きCT1を経て外部に通じる。なお、貫通孔OP1および切り欠きCT1はそれぞれ“開口部”および“スリット部”と呼んでもよい。開口部およびスリット部の幅は、開口部の幅がスリット部の幅よりも大きいことが好ましいが、開口部の幅とスリット部の幅とが同じであってもよい。
 以下では、板状電極16のうち、貫通孔OP1の周辺の一部の電極を“ループ状電極16lp”と定義し、ループ状電極16lpに接する他の一部の電極を“グランド電極16gd”と定義する。
 図2(A)~図2(B)に戻って、板状電極16の主面の面積はプリント配線板12の主面の面積とほぼ同じであり、板状電極16の厚みはプリント配線板12の厚みよりも格段に薄い。板状電極16は、板状電極16の主面がプリント配線板12の主面と平行に広がり、かつ板状電極16の主面の輪郭をなす長方形の長辺および短辺がプリント配線板12の主面をなす長方形の長辺および短辺と平行に延びる姿勢で、プリント配線板12に埋め込まれる。
 切り欠きCT1によって規定されるループ状電極16lpの両端は、2つのビアホール導体18,18を介してプリント配線板12の上の2つの配線14,14と接続される。これらの配線14はランドパターンとしても機能する。給電回路基板30の2つの接続端子は、この2つの配線14,14にそれぞれ接続実装される。したがって、RFICチップ32cpは、給電回路基板30に設けられた給電回路30psc(図5参照),配線14,ビアホール導体18およびループ状電極16lpを介して、グランド電極16gdと電気的に接続される。このループ状電極16lpは、RFIDデバイス28とグランド電極16gdとの間でインピーダンスを整合させるための整合回路(図5に示す給電回路30pscを構成する広帯域化回路30w)の一部として機能する。
 RFIDデバイス28の構造を図4に示す。給電回路基板30は、複数の基材層30isおよび複数の導体層30cdを交互に積層して直方体をなすように作製される。給電回路基板30には、導体層や層間接続導体によって、図5に示す給電回路30pscが組み込まれている。給電回路基板30の下面には、プリント配線板12に実装するための電極としての接続端子P2aおよびP2bが形成される一方、給電回路基板30の上面には、RFICチップ32cpを実装するための電極としての接続端子P1aおよびP1bが形成される。ループ状電極16lpの一方端は接続端子P2aと接続され、ループ状電極161pの他方端は接続端子P2bと接続される。なお、給電回路基板30を構成する基材層30isは、低温焼結セラミック層や熱可塑性樹脂や熱硬化性樹脂のような樹脂層等で構成されており、導体層30cdや層間接続導体は、銀や銅を主成分とする比抵抗の小さな金属材料等によって構成される。
 RFICチップ32cpは、ベアチップICまたはパッケージICとして構成されており、給電回路基板30に実装され、熱硬化性樹脂等の樹脂32rsで封止される。RFICチップ32cpの下面には、2つの入出力端子(図示せず)が設けられる。一方の入出力端子は、バンプBPaを介して、給電回路基板30の上面に形成された接続端子P1aと接続される。また、他方の入出力端子は、バンプBPbを介して、給電回路基板30の上面に形成された接続端子P1bと接続される。これらの2つの入出力端子は、バランス型端子を構成している。
 GSM850規格によれば、824MHz~849MHzの周波数帯域が送信用に割り当てられ、869MHz~894MHzの周波数帯域が受信用に割り当てられる。また、GSM900規格によれば、880MHz~915MHzの周波数帯域が送信用に割り当てられ、925MHz~960MHzの周波数帯域が受信用に割り当てられる。これを踏まえて、RFIDデバイス28は、GMS850規格に対応して902MHz~928MHzの周波数帯域を使用するとともに、GMS900規格に対応して865MHz~868MHzの周波数帯域を使用する。
 したがって、送受信ブロック20に設けられたGSMシステム用のBBICチップ22およびフロントエンドモジュール24は、824MHz~849MHzおよび869MHz~894MHzの帯域、或いは880MHz~915MHzおよび925MHz~960MHzの帯域に属するGSMシステム用の通信信号を処理して、移動体通信を実行する。また、RFIDデバイス28に設けられたRFIDシステム用のRFICチップ32cpは、902MHz~928MHzまたは865MHz~868MHzの帯域に属するRFIDシステム用の通信信号を処理して、近距離無線通信を実行する。
 GSMシステム用の通信信号は、アンテナ26を利用して送受信されるとともに、グランド電極16gdを利用して送受信される。つまり、本実施例におけるGSMシステムは、筐体電流(グランド電流)を通信信号の送受信に利用したものである。また、RFIDシステム用の通信信号は、ループ状電極16lpおよびグランド電極16gdを利用して送受信される。つまり、本実施例におけるRFIDシステムも、筐体電流(グランド電流)を通信信号の送受信に利用したものである。ゆえに、GSMシステム用通信信号およびRFIDシステム用通信信号がグランド電極16gdを介して外部に放射されることから、グランド電極16gdは、両システム用の“放射体”と定義することができる。
 上述のように、RFIDシステム用通信信号の周波数は、GSMシステム用通信信号の周波数の近傍に設定される。このため、送信電力が数ワット程度と比較的大きな電力になるGSMシステム用通信信号がRFIDデバイス28に入り込むと、その歪みにより、GSM用通信信号の2倍波や3倍波…の高調波成分がRFID用のRFICチップ32cpにおいて生成され、この高調波成分がスプリアスとして輻射され、GSMシステムの通信特性を劣化させるおそれがある。
 このような問題を考慮して、この実施例では、図5に示すフィルタ回路30fc1および広帯域化回路30wが給電回路30pscに設けられる。図5に示すように、フィルタ回路30fc1はキャパシタC1a~C1cおよびインダクタL1aによって形成され、広帯域化回路30wはキャパシタC2a~C2bおよびインダクタL2によって形成される。すなわち、フィルタ回路30fc1は、アンバランス型のフィルタであり、π型の共振回路(1段)を有したローパスフィルタとして構成されている。このフィルタ回路はGSM850やGSM900の高調波領域の周波数を減衰させるように構成されている。広帯域化回路30wは、RFID用のRFICチップ32cpとグランド電極16gdとが広い周波数帯域にてインピーダンス整合可能なように構成された整合回路であり、ループ状電極16lpとともに、整合回路として機能する。なお、インピーダンス整合を広帯域化させる方法としては、例えば、インダクタンス成分を大きく、キャパシタンス成分を小さくすることにより、共振特性をブロードなものにしたり、複数の共振点を結合させたりするものが挙げられる。
 接続端子P1aは、直列接続されたインダクタL1aおよびキャパシタC2aを介して接続端子P2aと接続される。また、接続端子P1bは、キャパシタC2bを介して接続端子P2bと接続される。キャパシタC1aは、インダクタL1aと並列接続される。
 キャパシタC1bの一方端はキャパシタC1aの一方端およびインダクタL1aの一方端と接続され、キャパシタC1bの他方端は接続端子P1bと接続される。キャパシタC1cの一方端はキャパシタC1aの他方端およびインダクタL1aの他方端と接続され、キャパシタC1cの他方端は接続端子P1bと接続される。インダクタL2の一方端はインダクタL1aの他方端と接続され、インダクタL2の他方端は接続端子P1bと接続される。
 こうして構成された給電回路30pscは、図6(A)~図6(B)に示す周波数特性を有する。図6(A)~図6(B)において、挿入損失は曲線CV1aに沿って変化し、RFIDデバイス28からの反射損失は曲線CV2aに沿って変化する。ここで、“反射損失”は、RFIDデバイス28への入力が全て反射されたときに“0”を示し、RFIDデバイス28に入力される信号量が増大するほど“0”から大きく減少する。
 曲線CV1aによれば、挿入損失は、2.0GHz近傍で急峻に減少し、概ね850MHz~940MHzの帯域(厳密には875MHz近傍および920MHz近傍)で急峻に増大する(挿入損失が-15dBを上回る)。また、曲線CV2aによれば、反射損失は、概ね850MHz~940MHzの帯域で“0”を下回り、特に875MHz近傍および920MHz近傍で急峻に減少する。この結果、GSMシステム用通信信号の高調波成分はフィルタ回路30fc1によって減衰される一方、RFIDシステム用通信信号はフィルタ回路30fc1を通過する。
 なお、曲線CV1aが2.0GHz近傍で急峻に減少するのは、フィルタ回路30fc1のLC共振周波数が2.0GHz近傍に設定されるからである。また、曲線CV1aが1.2GHz以上の帯域において減衰特性を示す(挿入損失が-50dBを下回る)のは、キャパシタC1bおよびC1cがフィルタ回路30fc1内に並列的に設けられるからである。さらに、曲線CV2aが875MHz近傍および920MHz近傍で急峻に減少するのは、広帯域化回路30wのLC共振周波数が875MHz近傍および920MHz近傍に設定されるからである。
 以上のように、RFIDデバイス28に設けられたRFICチップ32cpは、902MHz~928MHz(GSM850規格対応)または865MHz~868MHzの帯域(GSM900規格対応)に属するRFIDシステム用通信信号を処理して、近距離無線通信を実行する。
 また、送受信ブロック20に設けられたGSM用のフロントエンドモジュール24およびBBICチップ22は、824MHz~849MHzおよび869MHz~894MHzの帯域(GSM850規格用)、或いは880MHz~915MHzおよび925MHz~960MHzの帯域(GSM900規格用)に属するGSMシステム用通信信号を処理して、移動体通信を実行する。
 さらに、RFIDデバイス28に設けられたフィルタ回路30fc1は、RFIDシステム用通信信号が現われる概ね850MHz~940MHzの帯域を通過帯域とし、GSMシステム用通信信号の高調波成分が現われる1.2GHz以上の帯域を減衰帯域とする。
 GSMシステム用通信信号がRFIDデバイス28に入力されると、GSMシステム用通信信号の高調波成分がRFID用のRFICチップ32cpにおいて生成される。ただし、生成された高調波成分は、フィルタ回路30fc1において減衰される。したがって、この高調波成分がRFIDデバイス28から出ていきにくくなり、これによって、GSMシステム用通信信号の高調波成分が送受信ブロック20の動作つまり移動体通信を妨害する現象が抑制される。
 また、フィルタ回路30fc1はRFID用通信信号が属する周波数帯を通過帯域とするため、フィルタ回路30fc1がRFICチップ32cpの動作つまり近距離無線通信を妨害する現象が抑制される。これによって、近距離無線通信の通信性能が大きく劣化することはない。
 なお、高調波によるスプリアスは、UHF帯RFIDシステムとGSM900/GSM850システムとの組み合わせ以外にも、たとえば、RFIDシステムとDCS,CDMA等の移動体通信システムとの組み合わせ、RFIDシステムとBluetooth(登録商標)や無線LAN等の近距離通信システムとの組み合わせ等の場合においても生じてしまうことがある。しかしながら、この実施例のように、一方のシステム(たとえばRFIDシステム)用のICと放射素子との間に、他方のシステム(たとえばGSM,DCS,CDMA,Bluetooth,無線LAN等)の通信周波数もしくはその高調波を減衰させるフィルタ回路を設けることで、他方のシステムにおけるスプリアスの発生を抑制し、その通信性能を改善することができる。
 他の実施例の通信装置10では、図7に示すフィルタ回路30fc2および広帯域化回路30wが給電回路30pscに設けられる。フィルタ回路30fc2は、2段のπ型共振回路を設けてなる。つまり、インダクタL1aとキャパシタC2aとの間にインダクタL1bが設けられ、キャパシタC1dがインダクタL1bに並列接続され、そしてキャパシタC1eがインダクタL1bおよびキャパシタC2aの接続点と接続端子P1bとの間に設けられる。
 こうして構成された給電回路30pscは、図8(A)~図8(B)に示す周波数特性を有する。図8(A)~図8(B)において、挿入損失は曲線CV1bに沿って変化し、RFIDデバイス28からの反射損失は曲線CV2bに沿って変化する。
 曲線CV1bによれば、挿入損失は、1.7GHz近傍および2.5GHz近傍で急峻に減少し、概ね830MHz~970MHzの帯域で急峻に増大する。また、曲線CV2bによれば、反射損失は概ね830MHz~970MHzの帯域で“0”を下回る。このような周波数特性を示すことで、GSMシステム用通信信号の高調波成分がフィルタ回路30fc2によって減衰され、RFIDシステム用通信信号がフィルタ回路30fc2を通過する。すなわち、このフィルタ回路30fc2では、2つの減衰極を作ることができる。そして、これらの減衰極を各高調波(たとえば2倍波と3倍波)の周波数に合わせておけば、各高調波を効率良く減衰させることができる。なお、共振回路は2段に限定されるものではなく、3段以上の多段にしてもよい。
 その他の実施例の通信装置10では、図9に示すフィルタ回路30fc2が給電回路30pscをなす。つまり、図7と比較して、広帯域化回路30wが省略される。この給電回路30pscは、図10(A)~図10(B)に示す周波数特性を有する。図10(A)~図10(B)において、挿入損失は曲線CV1cに沿って変化し、RFIDデバイス28からの反射損失は曲線CV2cに沿って変化する。
 曲線CV1cは、1.7GHz近傍および2.5GHz近傍で急峻に減少し、概ね880MHz~950MHzの帯域で急峻に増大する。また、曲線CV2cは、概ね880MHz~950MHzの帯域で“0”を下回る。この結果、GSMシステム用通信信号の高調波成分がフィルタ回路30fc2によって減衰され、RFIDシステム用通信信号がフィルタ回路30fを通過する。
 なお、図5,図7,図9におけるキャパシタC1a~C1e,C2a~C2b、およびインダクタL1a~L1b,L2は、上記各システムの組み合わせに応じてそれぞれ好適な値を取ることができる。また、必要に応じて一部の素子を省略することもできる。つまり、通過帯域幅が多少狭くなるものの、広帯域化回路は必須であるわけではない。また、給電回路基板に広帯域化回路を一体化せず、別の基板に広帯域化回路を設けてもよい。
 さらにその他の実施例の通信装置10では、RFIDデバイス28を形成する給電回路基板30は、図11に示す構造を有する。また、給電回路基板30に設けられた給電回路30pscは、図12に示すフィルタ回路30fc3および整合回路30m1によって構成される。ここで、フィルタ回路30fc3は、接続端子P1aおよびP2aを結ぶ信号線LN1上に設けられたフィルタ30f1と、接続端子P1bおよびP2bを結ぶ信号線LN2上に設けられたフィルタ30f2とによって形成される。つまり、信号線LN1およびLN2は差動線路に相当し、フィルタ回路30fc3はバランスフィルタ回路に相当する。このように給電回路基板30の上層側(RFICチップの搭載面側)に主にインダクタを形成し、下層側(プリント配線板への実装面側)に主にキャパシタを形成することで、RFICチップとインダクタとの間の浮遊インダクタ成分を少なくすることができるとともに、プリント配線板への実装性を向上させることができる。特に、キャパシタを構成する電極面積が下層側から上層側に向かって小さくなっているため、インダクタ(コイルパターン)のQ値を大きく劣化させることなく、基板の薄型化を図ることができる。
 より具体的には、接続端子P1aはインダクタL1cの一方端と接続され、インダクタL1cの他方端はキャパシタC2dを介して接続端子P2aと接続される。キャパシタC1fは、インダクタL1cに並列的に接続される。接続端子P1bはインダクタL1dの一方端と接続され、インダクタL1dの他方端はキャパシタC2eを介して接続端子P2bと接続される。キャパシタC1gは、インダクタL1dに並列的に接続される。キャパシタC3の一方端はインダクタL1cの他方端と接続され、キャパシタC3の他方端はインダクタL1dの他方端と接続される。
 ここで、フィルタ30f1は単一のインダクタL1cと2つのキャパシタC1fおよびC3によって形成され、フィルタ30f2は単一のインダクタL1dと2つのキャパシタC1gおよびC3によって形成される。また、整合回路30m1は、3つのキャパシタC2d,C2eおよびC3によって形成される。
 こうして構成された給電回路30pscは、その周波数特性が図13に示す曲線CV3aを描くように調整される。なお、図13に示す曲線CV3bは、フィルタ回路30fc3を省いたときの給電回路30pscの周波数特性を示す。
 曲線CV3aによれば、挿入損失は、2.5GHz近傍を最低レベルとして谷を描き、概ね830MHz~970MHzの帯域で急峻に増大する。このような周波数特性を示すことで、GSMシステム用通信信号の高調波成分がフィルタ回路30fc3によって減衰され、RFIDシステム用通信信号がフィルタ回路30fc3を通過する。
 給電回路基板30は、図14(A)~図14(K)に示す11個のシートSH1~SH11を積層することで作製される。具体的には、シートSH1の上にシートSH2が積層され、シートSH2の上にシートSH3が積層され、シートSH3の上にシートSH4が積層され、シートSH4の上にシートSH5が積層され、シートSH5の上にシートSH6が積層され、シートSH6の上にシートSH7が積層され、シートSH7の上にシートSH8が積層され、シートSH8の上にシートSH9が積層され、シートSH9の上にシートSH10が積層され、シートSH10の上にシートSH11が積層される。
 なお、シートSH1~SH11のいずれについても、白抜き部分が絶縁体に相当し、ハッチング部分が導電体に相当する。また、シートSH1~SH10については絶縁体の下面に導電体が形成される一方、シートSH11については絶縁体の上面に導電体が形成される。さらに、シートSH1~SH11は、●で示すビアホール導体によって層間接続される。また、シートSH1の右側の導電体が接続端子P2aに接続され、シートSH1の左側の導電体が接続端子P2bに接続され、シートSH11の右側の導電体が接続端子P1aに接続され、そしてシートSH11の左側の導電体が接続端子P1bに接続される。
 キャパシタC2dはシートSH2~SH4の右側の導電体によって形成され、キャパシタC2eはシートSH2~SH4の左側の導電体によって形成され、キャパシタC3はシートSH4~SH5の左右の導電体によって形成される。キャパシタC1fはシートSH5~SH6の右側の導電体によって形成され、キャパシタC1gはシートSH5~SH6の左側の導電体によって形成される。インダクタL1cはシートSH7~SH10の右側の導電体によって形成され、インダクタL1dはシートSH7~SH10の左側の導電体によって形成される。
 他の実施例の通信装置10では、RFIDデバイス28を形成する給電回路基板30に設けられた給電回路30pscは、図15に示すフィルタ回路30fc4および整合回路30m1によって構成される。ここで、フィルタ回路30fc4は、接続端子P1aおよびP2aを結ぶ信号線LN1上に設けられたフィルタ30f3と、接続端子P1bおよびP2bを結ぶ信号線LN2上に設けられたフィルタ30f4とによって形成される。
 より具体的には、接続端子P1aはインダクタL1cの一方端と接続され、インダクタL1cの他方端はインダクタL1eの一方端と接続され、そしてインダクタL1eの他方端はキャパシタC2dを介して接続端子P2aと接続される。キャパシタC1fはインダクタL1cに並列的に接続され、キャパシタC1hはインダクタL1eに並列的に接続される。
 接続端子P1bはインダクタL1dの一方端と接続され、インダクタL1dの他方端はインダクタL1fの一方端と接続され、そしてインダクタL1fの他方端はキャパシタC2dを介して接続端子P2bと接続される。キャパシタC1gはインダクタL1dに並列的に接続され、キャパシタC1iはインダクタL1fに並列的に接続される。キャパシタC3の一方端はインダクタL1eの他方端と接続され、キャパシタC3の他方端はインダクタL1fの他方端と接続される。
 ここで、フィルタ30f3は2つのインダクタL1cおよびL1eと3つのキャパシタC1f,C1hおよびC3によって形成され、フィルタ30f4は2つのインダクタL1dおよびL1fと3つのキャパシタC1g,C1iおよびC3によって形成される。また、整合回路30m1は、3つのキャパシタC2d,C2eおよびC3によって形成される。
 こうして構成された給電回路30pscは、その周波数特性が図16に示す曲線CV4aを描くように調整される。なお、図16に示す曲線CV4bは、フィルタ回路30fc4を省いたときの給電回路30pscの周波数特性を示す。
 曲線CV4aによれば、挿入損失は、1.5GHz近傍,2.5GHz近傍および3.2GHz近傍において谷なりに減少し、概ね830MHz~970MHzの帯域で急峻に増大する。このような周波数特性を示すことで、GSMシステム用通信信号の高調波成分がフィルタ回路30fc4によって減衰され、RFIDシステム用通信信号がフィルタ回路30fc4を通過する。
 なお、図12または図15に示す整合回路30m1には、図17または図18に示す要領でインダクタL3を追加するようにしてもよい。これによって、別の特性を示す整合回路30m2が形成される。図17~図18によれば、インダクタL3は、キャパシタC3に対して並列的に接続される。このようにインダクタL3を付加することで、通過特性のさらなる広帯域化が可能となる。
 さらに、図17に示すフィルタ回路30fc3には、図19に示す要領でキャパシタC4を追加するようにしてもよい。これによって、別の特性を示すフィルタ回路fc5が形成される。この場合、キャパシタC1f,C3,C4とインダクタL1cとによってフィルタ30f5が形成され、キャパシタC1g,C3,C4とインダクタL1dとによってフィルタ30f6が形成される。
 また、図18に示すフィルタ回路30fc4には、図20に示す要領でキャパシタC4およびC5を追加するようにしてもよい。これによって、さらに別の特性を示すフィルタ回路fc6が形成される。この場合、キャパシタC1f,C1h,C3~C5とインダクタL1c,L1eとによってフィルタ30f7が形成され、キャパシタC1g,C1i,C3~C5とインダクタL1d,L1fとによってフィルタ30f8が形成される。これらのキャパシタを付加することで、高調波の減衰量を増やすことができる。
 図19~図20のいずれにおいても、バランス型フィルタの対称性が向上し、ひいてはフィルタ特性が向上する。
 その他の実施例の通信装置10では、RFIDデバイス28を形成する給電回路基板30は、図21に示す構造を有する。また、給電回路基板30に設けられた給電回路30pscは、図22に示すフィルタ回路30fc7および広帯域化回路30wによって構成される。ここで、フィルタ回路30fc7は、接続端子P1aおよびP2aを結ぶ信号線LN1上に設けられたフィルタ30f9と、接続端子P1bおよびP2bを結ぶ信号線LN2上に設けられたフィルタ30f10とによって形成される。つまり、信号線LN1およびLN2は差動線路に相当し、フィルタ回路30fc7はバランスフィルタ回路に相当する。
 より具体的には、接続端子P1aは、直列接続されたインダクタL1g,L1kおよびキャパシタC2aを介して接続端子P2aと接続される。また、接続端子P1bは、直列接続されたインダクタL1h,L1mおよびキャパシタC2bを介して接続端子P2bと接続される。
 インダクタL1gおよびL1kの接続点にはキャパシタC1jの一方端が接続され、キャパシタC1jの他方端はインダクタL1iを介してインダクタL1hおよびL1mの接続点と接続される。インダクタL1hおよびL1mの接続点にはまたキャパシタC1kの一方端が接続され、キャパシタC1kの他方端はインダクタL1jを介してインダクタL1gおよびL1kの接続点と接続される。さらに、インダクタL1kおよびキャパシタC2aの接続点にはインダクタL2の一方端が接続され、インダクタL1mおよびキャパシタC2bの接続点にはインダクタL2の他方端が接続される。
 ここで、フィルタ30f9は2つのキャパシタC1jおよびC1kと4つのインダクタL1g,L1k,L1iおよびL1jとによって形成され、フィルタ30f10は2つのキャパシタC1jおよびC1kと4つのインダクタL1h,L1m,L1iおよびL1jとによって形成される。また、広帯域化回路30wは、単一のインダクタL2と2つのキャパシタC2aおよびC2bとによって形成される。
 直列接続されたキャパシタC1jおよびインダクタL1iを信号線LN1およびLN2の間に設け、さらに直列接続されたキャパシタC1kおよびインダクタL1jを信号線LN1およびLN2の間に設けることで、信号線LN1およびLN2に設けられたインダクタL1g,L1k,L1hおよびL1mのインダクタンスを抑制しつつ(伝送損失を抑制しつつ)、共振周波数を所望の値に調整することができる。
 こうして構成された給電回路30pscは、図23(A)~図23(B)に示す周波数特性を有する。図23(A)~図23(B)において、挿入損失は曲線CV5aに沿って変化し、RFIDデバイス28からの反射損失は曲線CV5bに沿って変化する。
 曲線CV5aによれば、挿入損失は、2.7GHz近傍で急峻に減少し、概ね800MHz~1.0GHzの帯域で急峻に増大する(信号レベルが-10dBを上回る)。また、曲線CV5bによれば、反射損失は、830MHz近傍および950MHz近傍で急峻に減少する。さらに、曲線CV5cは、800MHz~1.0GHzの帯域で0dBを下回る。
 この結果、GSMシステム用通信信号の高調波成分はフィルタ回路30fc9によって減衰される一方、RFIDシステム用通信信号はフィルタ回路30fc9を通過する。
 給電回路基板30は、図24(A)~図24(N)に示す14個のシートSH21~SH34を積層することで作製される。
 具体的には、シートSH21の上にシートSH22が積層され、シートSH22の上にシートSH23が積層され、シートSH23の上にシートSH24が積層され、シートSH24の上にシートSH25が積層され、シートSH25の上にシートSH26が積層され、シートSH26の上にシートSH27が積層され、シートSH27の上にシートSH28が積層され、シートSH28の上にシートSH29が積層され、シートSH29の上にシートSH30が積層され、シートSH30の上にシートSH31が積層され、シートSH31の上にシートSH32が積層され、シートSH32の上にシートSH33が積層され、シートSH33の上にシートSH34が積層される。
 なお、シートSH21~SH34のいずれについても、白抜き部分が絶縁体に相当し、ハッチング部分が導電体に相当する。また、シートSH21~SH33については絶縁体の下面に導電体が形成される一方、シートSH34については絶縁体の上面に導電体が形成される。さらに、シートSH21~SH34は、●で示すビアホール導体によって層間接続される。また、シートSH21の右側の導電体が接続端子P2aに接続され、シートSH21の左側の導電体が接続端子P2bに接続され、シートSH34の右下側の導電体が接続端子P1aに接続され、そしてシートSH34の左下側の導電体が接続端子P1bに接続される。
 キャパシタC2aはシートSH21~SH23の右側の導電体によって形成され、キャパシタC2bはシートSH21~SH23の左側の導電体によって形成され、キャパシタC1kはシートSH30~SH32の右側の導電体によって形成され、キャパシタC1jはシートSH30~SH32の左側の導電体によって形成される。
 また、インダクタL2はシートSH24~SH25の導電体によって形成され、インダクタL1kはシートSH26~SH28の右側の導電体によって形成され、インダクタL1mはシートSH26~SH28の左側の導電体によって形成される。
 さらに、インダクタL1iはシートSH29の左側の導電体によって形成され、インダクタL1jはシートSH29の右側の導電体によって形成され、インダクタL1gはシートSH33の右側の導電体によって形成され、インダクタL1hはシートSH33の左側の導電体によって形成される。
 なお、図22に示すフィルタ30f9および30f10は、図25に示すように修正してもよい。図25によれば、インダクタL1i,L1jおよびキャパシタC1j,C1kに代えて、キャパシタC1m,C1nおよびインダクタL1nが設けられる。キャパシタC1mの一方端はインダクタL1gおよびLikの接続点に接続され、キャパシタC1mの他方端はインダクタL1nの一方端に接続される。また、インダクタL1nの他方端はキャパシタC1nの一方端に接続され、キャパシタC1nの他方端はインダクタL1hおよびLimの接続点に接続される。
 以上、本発明を具体的な実施例に基づいて説明したが、本発明は上述の実施例に限定されるものではない。たとえば、通信装置として、移動体通信端末装置を例に説明したが、たとえばノート型PCやタブレット端末等、各種の無線通信装置に適用することができる。
 プリント配線板に設けられる板状電極(グランド電極)は、プリント配線板の内部に限られるものではなく、プリント配線板の表面に設けられてもよい。この場合、送受信回路素子28の実装領域は、板状電極の表面に設けられたレジスト層によって規定される。また、その平面形状は、プリント配線板の主面の平面形状が長方形状に限定さないのと同様に、長方形状に限定されるものではない。
 給電回路基板は、上述のように、無線ICチップ32pを搭載するためのインターポーザとして構成されていてもよいが、無線ICチップ32cpの主面に再配線層として構成されていてもよい。また、上述の各実施例では、フィルタ回路は、給電回路基板内に形成した導電体で構成されている。つまり、フィルタ回路は、いわゆる内部構造となっている。しかし、基板上にディスクリートのインダクタやコンデンサを実装してフィルタ回路を構成するようにしてもよく、或いは内部構造と部品実装との組み合わせでフィルタ回路を構成するようにしてもよい。
 ループ状電極16lpは、板状電極16に切り欠きCT1を設け、板状電極の一部をループ部として利用したものであるが、板状電極16とは別に構成したループ状電極が板状電極16に電気的に直接接続されていてもよいし、板状電極16とは別に構成したループ状電極が板状電極16に電磁界を介して結合されていてもよい。
 UHF帯RFIDシステムとGSM900/GSM850システムとの組み合わせ以外にも、たとえば、RFIDシステムとDCS,CDMA等の移動体通信システムとの組み合わせ,RFIDシステムとBluetooth(登録商標)や無線LAN等の近距離無線通信システムとの組み合わせ等に適用することもできる。

Claims (14)

  1.  第1周波数帯をキャリア周波数とする第1通信信号を用いて通信し、前記第1通信信号を処理する第1無線通信用集積回路を有する第1通信システム、および
     第2周波数帯をキャリア周波数とする第2通信信号を用いて通信し、前記第2通信信号を処理する第2無線通信用集積回路を有する第2通信システムを備え、
     前記第1通信システムは、前記第1周波数帯を通過帯域とし、前記第2通信信号もしくはその高調波成分を減衰させるフィルタ回路をさらに有する、通信装置。
  2.  前記第2周波数帯は前記第1周波数帯近傍または前記第1周波数帯の高調波近傍の周波数帯である、請求項1記載の通信装置。
  3.  前記第1通信システムは、前記第1無線通信用集積回路と接続され、前記第1通信信号を放射する第1放射体をさらに備え、
     前記第2通信システムは、前記第2無線通信用集積回路と接続され、前記第2通信信号を放射する第2放射体をさらに備える、請求項1または2記載の通信装置。
  4.  前記第1放射体は装置筐体内に設けられたグランド電極に相当する、請求項3記載の通信装置。
  5.  前記第2通信システムは前記グランド電極に電気的に接続される、請求項4記載の通信装置。
  6.  前記第1通信システム、および前記第2通信システムは、共通のグランド電極に異なる給電点で接続されており、
     前記フィルタ回路は、前記グランド電極の給電点と、前記第1無線通信用集積回路との間に設けられている、請求項5記載の通信装置。
  7.  前記第1無線通信集積回路および前記第1放射体は互いに並列する2つの信号線によって接続される、請求項1ないし6のいずれかに記載の通信装置。
  8.  前記フィルタ回路は前記2つの信号線にそれぞれ割り当てられた2つのフィルタ要素を含む、請求項7記載の通信装置。
  9.  前記2つの信号線は差動線路に相当し、前記フィルタ回路はバランスフィルタ回路に相当する、請求項7または8記載の通信装置。
  10.  前記フィルタ回路は前記2つの信号線の間に直列接続されたインダクタおよびキャパシタを含む、請求項7ないし9のいずれかに記載の通信装置。
  11.  前記第1通信システムは前記フィルタ回路の通過帯域幅を広げる広帯域化回路をさらに有する、請求項1ないし10のいずれかに記載の通信装置。
  12.  前記第1通信システムは前記第1無線通信用集積回路を搭載する基板をさらに有し、
     前記基板は複数の基材層と複数の導体層とを積層してなり、
     前記フィルタ回路は、前記導体層によって構成され、前記基板に内蔵される、請求項1ないし11のいずれかに記載の通信装置。
  13.  前記第1通信システムは、前記第1周波数帯として900MHz帯を使用するRFIDシステムであり、
     前記第2通信システムは、前記第2周波数帯として850MHz帯または900MHz帯を使用するGSMシステムである、請求項1ないし12のいずれかに記載の通信装置。
  14.  請求項1に記載の通信装置に用いられる無線通信デバイスであって、前記第1無線通信用集積回路と、前記第1無線通信用集積回路が搭載され、前記フィルタ回路を内蔵した基板とからなる、無線通信デバイス。
