- the support member 25 is urged rearward by the third coil spring 65 near the lock member 26, the rear cover 6 can be easily opened. Therefore, the operator can perform JAM processing by opening the rear cover 6 with respect to the printer main body 2.
- the position of each lock member 26 at this time is referred to as a “lock release position”.
- the rear cover 6 can be opened by an operation of pressing the lever member 27. Therefore, it is easier to operate the lever member 27 when the rear cover 6 is opened from the front side of the printer body 2 as compared with a configuration in which the rear cover 6 is opened by an operation of pulling up the lever member 27. Along with this, it is possible to reduce the operational burden on operators such as users and service personnel, and to facilitate JAM processing. Further, since the rear cover 6 that is opened and closed by such a pressing operation can be formed with a simple configuration, it is possible to reduce the manufacturing cost.
- the opening 55 of the lever member 27 is formed by the protrusions 35 a and 35 b of the support member 25 as shown in FIG. 12. It moves to the lower left while maintaining the engaged state. Further, when the lever member 27 is pressed in the direction indicated by the arrow b in FIG. 7, the opening 55 moves vertically downward while maintaining the engaged state with the protrusions 35a and 35b. When the lever member 27 is pressed in the direction indicated by the arrow c in FIG. 8, the opening 55 moves to the lower right while maintaining the engaged state with the protrusions 35a and 35b.
- the lever member 27 is pressed in any direction regardless of the direction of the lever member 27.
- the member 27 can be moved from the locking position to the locking release position.
- the opening 55 is widened upward. Therefore, in a state before the lever member 27 is pressed, the lower end portion having the narrowest width in the opening portion 55 is engaged with the projection portion 35b. Can be regulated. Further, when the lever member 27 is pressed, the wide portion of the opening 55 and the projection 35b are engaged, so the lever member 27 is moved in a plurality of directions along the pressing direction. It becomes possible.
- the opening 55 has a substantially trapezoidal shape that widens upward, but is not limited thereto, and may have a triangular shape that widens upward.
- the opening 55 of the lever member 27 is formed at the position of the protrusion 35a and 35b into which the third coil spring 65 is inserted, which is the position of the support member 25, but is not limited thereto.
- a recess may be formed in the support member 25 instead of the opening 55, and the protrusions 35 a and 35 b may be formed in the lever member 27. In this case, the shape of the recess is widened downward, and the protrusions 35a and 35b are protruded toward the support member 25.
- the configuration of the present invention is applied to the rotary rear cover 6
- the present invention is not limited to this.
- the configuration of the present invention may be applied to a drawer-type cover formed integrally with the paper feed cassette 3.
- the present invention is not limited to the rear cover 6 and can be applied to all exterior covers such as a top cover, a front cover, and left and right side covers.
- the present invention is not limited to this.
- the present invention can also be applied to other image forming apparatuses such as a copying machine, a facsimile machine, and a digital multifunction machine.
