Abstract

プーリ(15)のV面(48)のうち、所定位置P1よりも径方向内側部分(48a)は金属ベルト(19)との間にスリップが発生し易いが、その径方向内側部分(48a)の母線の形状を直線とすることで金属ベルト(19)との間の摩擦係数を大きく確保し、スリップの発生を確実に防止することができる。またプーリ(15)のV面(48)のうち、前記所定位置P1よりも径方向外側部分(48b)の母線の形状を、金属ベルト(19)のミスアライメント(C)を補償する方向に湾曲する曲線とすることで、金属ベルト(19)が前記V面(48)にスムーズに噛み込むようにし、金属ベルト(19)やプーリ(15)の耐久性を高めることができる。V面(48)の母線の形状を曲線とすると金属ベルト(19)との間の摩擦係数が減少するが、V面(48)の径方向外側部分(48b)はそもそも金属ベルト(19)のスリップが発生し難い部分なので、摩擦係数が減少してもスリップが発生する虞はない。

Description

無端伝動帯式無段変速機
 本発明は、固定側プーリ半体および可動側プーリ半体からなるドライブプーリと、固定側プーリ半体および可動側プーリ半体からなるドリブンプーリと、前記ドライブプーリのV面および前記ドリブンプーリのV面に巻き掛けられた無端伝動帯とを備え、前記ドライブプーリおよび前記ドリブンプーリの一方の溝幅を増加させて他方の溝幅を減少させることで変速比を変更する無端伝動帯式無段変速機に関する。
 ベルト式無段変速機のドライブプーリおよびドリブンプーリは、シャフトに固設された固定側プーリ半体と、シャフトに軸方向摺動自在に支持されて固定側プーリ半体に対して接近・離間する可動側プーリ半体とで構成されており、ドライブプーリの可動側プーリ半体を固定側プーリ半体から離間させてV溝の溝幅を増加させ、ドリブンプーリの可動側プーリ半体を固定側プーリ半体に接近させてV溝の溝幅を減少させることで変速比をLOW側に変化させ、逆にドライブプーリの可動側プーリ半体を固定側プーリ半体に接近させてV溝の溝幅を減少させ、ドリブンプーリの可動側プーリ半体を固定側プーリ半体から離間させてV溝の溝幅を増加させることで変速比をOD側に変化させるようになっている。
 固定側プーリ半体に対して可動側プーリ半体を接近させると、V溝の中心が固定側プーリ半体に近づき、逆に固定側プーリ半体から可動側プーリ半体を離間させると、V溝の中心が固定側プーリ半体から遠ざかるため、変速比の変更に伴ってドライブプーリおよびドリブンプーリのV溝の中心の軸線方向のずれ量(すなわちミスアライメント)が発生し、そのミスアライメントは変速比に応じてゼロから最大値までの間を増減することになる。このようなミスアライメントが発生すると、金属ベルトがドライブプーリに巻き付く部分とドリブンプーリに巻き付く部分とが軸線方向にずれてしまい、金属ベルトの回転面が軸線に直交する平面から外れることで、金属ベルトやプーリのV面の耐久性に悪影響が及ぶ問題がある。
 ベルト式無段変速機のミスアライメントの影響を最小限に抑えるために、ベルト式無段変速機の変速比がTOPの状態、つまり金属ベルトが受ける負荷が最大になるときにミスアライメントがゼロになるように設定し、金属ベルトの金属エレメントをプーリのV溝に真っ直ぐに噛み込ませることで、金属ベルトの挙動を安定させて耐久性を高めるものが、下記特許文献1により公知である。
 またベルト式無段変速機のミスアライメントの影響を最小限に抑えるために、従来は直線であったプーリのV面の母線の形状を金属ベルト側に向かって凸に湾曲する円弧状にするとともに、プーリのV面に接触する金属ベルトのエレメントの側面をプーリ側に向かって凸に湾曲する円弧状にしたものが、下記特許文献2により公知である。

 しかしながら、上記特許文献1に記載されたものは、変速比がTOPの状態でのミスアライメントをゼロにすることは可能であるが、変速比のレンジを拡大すると、変速比がLOWおよびODの状態におけるミスアライメントが増加してしまい、金属ベルトやプーリの耐久性に悪影響が及ぶ可能性がある。
 また上記特許文献2に記載されたものは、プーリのV面および金属ベルトのエレメントの側面が相手方に向かって凸に湾曲するので、両者が点接触して接触部の摩擦係数が低くなり、プーリおよび金属ベルト間にスリップが発生する可能性がある。このスリップを防止するには、金属ベルトを挟圧するプーリ側圧を高めればよいが、そのためにオイルポンプが大型化したり、オイルポンプの駆動に大きなエネルギーが消費されたりする問題が発生する。
 本発明は前述の事情に鑑みてなされたもので、無端伝動帯式無段変速機において、プーリおよび金属ベルト間のスリップを防止しながら、金属ベルトのミスアライメントの影響を補償することを目的とする。
 上記目的を達成するために、本発明は、固定側プーリ半体および可動側プーリ半体からなるドライブプーリと、固定側プーリ半体および可動側プーリ半体からなるドリブンプーリと、前記ドライブプーリのV面および前記ドリブンプーリのV面に巻き掛けられた無端伝動帯とを備え、前記ドライブプーリおよび前記ドリブンプーリの一方の溝幅を増加させて他方の溝幅を減少させることで変速比を変更する無端伝動帯式無段変速機において、前記ドライブプーリおよび前記ドリブンプーリの少なくとも前記固定側プーリ半体のV面は、所定位置よりも径方向内側部分の母線の形状が直線であり、前記所定位置よりも径方向外側部分の母線の形状が前記無端伝動帯のミスアライメントを補償する方向に湾曲する曲線であることを第1の特徴とする。
 また本発明は、第1の特徴の構成に加えて、前記ドライブプーリおよび前記ドリブンプーリの前記可動側プーリ半体のV面の母線の形状は、前記ドライブプーリおよび前記ドリブンプーリの前記固定側プーリ半体のV面の母線の形状と対称であることを第2の特徴とする。
 また本発明は、第1または第2の特徴の構成に加えて、前記所定位置は、変速比が1のときに前記ドライブプーリおよび前記ドリブンプーリのV面に前記無端伝動帯が接触する位置であることを第3の特徴とする。
 また本発明は、第1~第3の特徴の何れか1つの構成に加えて、前記ミスアライメントの補償量は、該ミスアライメントの値未満に設定されることを第4の特徴とする。
 尚、実施の形態の金属ベルト19は本発明の無端伝動帯に対応する。
 本発明の第1の特徴によれば、ドライブプーリおよびドリブンプーリの少なくとも固定側プーリ半体のV面のうち、所定位置よりも径方向内側部分は無端伝動帯との間にスリップが発生し易いが、その径方向内側部分の母線の形状を直線とすることで無端伝動帯との間の摩擦係数を大きく確保し、スリップの発生を確実に防止することができる。またドライブプーリおよびドリブンプーリの少なくとも固定側プーリ半体のV面のうち、前記所定位置よりも径方向外側部分の母線の形状を、無端伝動帯のミスアライメントを補償する方向に湾曲する曲線とすることで、無端伝動帯が前記V面にスムーズに噛み込むようにし、無端伝動帯やプーリの耐久性を高めることができる。V面の母線の形状を曲線とすると無端伝動帯との間の摩擦係数が減少するが、V面の径方向外側部分はそもそも無端伝動帯のスリップが発生し難い部分なので、摩擦係数が減少してもスリップが発生する虞はない。
 また本発明の第2の特徴によれば、ドライブプーリおよびドリブンプーリの可動側プーリ半体のV面の母線の形状を、固定側プーリ半体のV面の母線の形状と対称にしたので、両プーリのV面に挟まれた無端伝動帯の両側面を均等に挟圧して該金属ベルトの傾きを防止することができる。
 また本発明の第3の特徴によれば、V面の母線の形状が直線から曲線に切り換わる所定位置を、変速比が1のときにドライブプーリおよびドリブンプーリのV面に無端伝動帯が接触する位置としたので、ミスアライメントの補償および無端伝動帯のスリップ防止を最も適切に両立させることができる。
 また本発明の第4の特徴によれば、ミスアライメントの補償量を該ミスアライメントの値未満に設定したので、V面の径方向外側部分の母線の形状を曲線としたことによるミスアライメント補償と摩擦係数の減少との兼ね合いを、必要に応じて任意に設定することができる。

 以下、図1~図10に基づいて本発明の実施の形態を説明する。
第1の実施の形態
 図1に示すように、車両用のベルト式無段変速機Tは平行に配置されたドライブシャフト11およびドリブンシャフト12を備えており、エンジンEのクランクシャフト13はダンパー14を介してドライブシャフト11に接続される。
 ドライブシャフト11に支持されたドライブプーリ15は、ドライブシャフト11に対して相対回転自在な固定側プーリ半体15aと、この固定側プーリ半体15aに対して軸方向摺動自在な可動側プーリ半体15bとを備える。可動側プーリ半体15bは、作動油室16に作用する油圧により固定側プーリ半体15aとの間の溝幅が可変である。ドリブンシャフト12に支持されたドリブンプーリ17は、ドリブンシャフト12に固設された固定側プーリ半体17aと、この固定側プーリ半体17aに対して軸方向摺動自在な可動側プーリ半体17bとを備える。可動側プーリ半体17bは、作動油室18に作用する油圧により固定側プーリ半体17aとの間の溝幅が可変である。そしてドライブプーリ15とドリブンプーリ17との間に、2本の金属リング集合体に多数の金属エレメントを装着した金属ベルト19が巻き掛けられる。
 ドライブシャフト11の軸端に、前進変速段を確立する際に係合してドライブシャフト11の回転をドライブプーリ15に同方向に伝達するフォワードクラッチ20と、後進変速段を確立する際に係合してドライブシャフト11の回転をドライブプーリ15に逆方向に伝達するリバースブレーキ21とを備えた、シングルピニオン式の遊星歯車機構よりなる前後進切換機構22が設けられる。前後進切換機構22のサンギヤ23はドライブシャフト11に固設され、キャリヤ24はリバースブレーキ21によりケーシング25に拘束可能であり、リングギヤ26はフォワードクラッチ20によりドライブプーリ15に結合可能である。そしてキャリヤ24に支持された複数のピニオン27…がサンギヤ23およびリングギヤ26に同時に噛合する。
 ドリブンシャフト12の軸端に設けられた発進クラッチ28は、ドリブンシャフト12に相対回転自在に支持した第1減速ギヤ29を該ドリブンシャフト12に結合する。ドリブンシャフト12と平行に配置された減速軸30に、第1減速ギヤ29に噛合する第2減速ギヤ31が固設される。ディファレンシャルギヤDのギヤボックス32に固設したファイナルドリブンギヤ33に、減速軸30に固設したファイナルドライブギヤギヤ34が噛合する。ギヤボックス32にピニオンシャフト35,35を介して支持した一対のピニオン36,36に、ギヤボックス32に相対回転自在に支持した左車軸37および右車軸38の先端に設けたサイドギヤ39,39が噛合する。左右の車軸37,38の先端にそれぞれ駆動輪W,Wが接続される。
 従って、セレクトレバーでフォワードレンジを選択すると、電子制御ユニットU1により作動する油圧制御ユニットU2からの指令により、先ずフォワードクラッチ20が係合し、その結果、ドライブシャフト11はドライブプーリ15に一体に結合される。続いて発進クラッチ28が係合し、エンジンEのトルクがドライブシャフト11→前後進切換機構22→ドライブプーリ15→金属ベルト19→ドリブンプーリ17→ドリブンシャフト12→発進クラッチ28→第1減速ギヤ29→第2減速ギヤ31→減速軸30→ファイナルドライブギヤ34→ファイナルドリブンギヤ33→ディファレンシャルギヤD→車軸37,38の経路で駆動輪W,Wに伝達され、車両は前進発進する。セレクトレバーでリバースレンジを選択すると、油圧制御ユニットU2からの指令によりリバースブレーキ21が係合し、ドライブプーリ15がドライブシャフト11の回転方向と逆方向に駆動されるため、発進クラッチ28の係合により車両は後進発進する。
 このようにして車両が発進すると、油圧制御ユニットU2からの指令でドライブプーリ15の作動油室16に供給される油圧が増加し、ドライブプーリ15の可動側プーリ半体15bが固定側プーリ半体15aに接近して有効半径が増加するとともに、ドリブンプーリ17の作動油室18に供給される油圧が減少し、ドリブンプーリ17の可動側プーリ半体17bが固定側プーリ半体17aから離反して有効半径が減少することにより、ベルト式無段変速機Tの変速比がLOW側からOD側に向けて連続的に変化する。
 図2に示すように、金属ベルト19は左右一対の金属リング集合体41,41に多数の金属エレメント42…を支持したもので、各々の金属リング集合体41は複数枚の金属リング43…を積層して構成される。金属板材から打ち抜いて成形した金属エレメント42は、エレメント本体44と、金属リング集合体41,41が係合する左右一対のリングスロット45,45間に位置するネック部46と、ネック部46を介して前記エレメント本体44の径方向外側に接続される概略三角形のイヤー部47とを備える。エレメント本体44の左右方向両端部には、ドライブプーリ15およびドリブンプーリ17のV面48,48(図1参照)に当接可能な一対のプーリ当接面49,49が形成される。
 次に、図4に基づいて、金属ベルト19にミスアライメントCが発生する理由を説明する。
 ドライブプーリ15およびドリブンプーリ17は、その固定側プーリ半体15a,17aどうしを結ぶラインと、その可動側プーリ半体15b,17bどうしを結ぶラインとが交差する位置関係に配置される。例えば、ドライブプーリ15側では固定側プーリ半体15aが左側で可動側プーリ半体15bが右側に配置され、逆にドリブンプーリ17側では固定側プーリ半体17aが右側で可動側プーリ半体17bが左側に配置される。このような配置を採用することで、変速比の変更に伴って発生する金属ベルト19のミスアライメントCが最小限に抑えられる。
 図4(B)は変速比iが1の状態を示しており、この状態ではドライブプーリ15の溝中心線L1とドリブンプーリ17の溝中心線L2とが整列し、金属ベルト19の全体が同一平面内に配置されてミスアライメントCはゼロになる。
 図4(A)は変速比iがLOWの状態を示しており、この状態ではドライブプーリ15の可動側プーリ半体15bが固定側プーリ半体15aから離反するように右側に移動して溝中心線L1が右側に移動し、またドリブンプーリ17の可動側プーリ半体17bが固定側プーリ半体17aに接近するように右側に移動して溝中心線L2が右側に移動する。このように、変速比iがLOWの状態では、ドライブプーリ15の可動側プーリ半体15bおよびドリブンプーリ17の可動側プーリ半体17bが共に右側に移動し、両プーリ15,17の溝中心線L1,L2が共に右側に移動するためにミスアライメントCの発生が最小限に抑えられるが、ドライブプーリ15の溝中心線L1の右側への移動量がドリブンプーリ17の溝中心線L2の右側への移動量よりも大きいため、ドライブプーリ15側に対してドリブンプーリ17側が左方向に偏倚するミスアライメントCが発生する。
 図4(C)は変速比iがODの状態を示しており、この状態ではドライブプーリ15の可動側プーリ半体15bが固定側プーリ半体15aに接近するように左側に移動して溝中心線L1が左側に移動し、またドリブンプーリ17の可動側プーリ半体17bが固定側プーリ半体17aから離反するように左側に移動して溝中心線L2が左側に移動する。このように、変速比iがODの状態では、ドライブプーリ15の可動側プーリ半体15bおよびドリブンプーリ17の可動側プーリ半体17bが共に左側に移動し、両プーリ15,17の溝中心線L1,L2が共に左側に移動するためにミスアライメントCの発生が最小限に抑えられるが、ドライブプーリ15の溝中心線L1の左側への移動量がドリブンプーリ17の溝中心線L2の左側への移動量よりも小さいため、ドライブプーリ15側に対してドリブンプーリ17側が左方向に偏倚するミスアライメントCが発生する。
 図3に示すように、Dを変速比i=1のときのドライブプーリ15およびドリブンプーリ17の有効半径Rの2倍、aをドライブシャフト11およびドリブンシャフト12の軸間距離、βをドライブプーリ15およびドリブンプーリ17のV面48,48が成す角度の半分の角度(以下、V面角という)としたとき、金属ベルト19のミスアライメントCは、

で与えられる。実際のミスアライメントCの値は、最大でも1mm未満の極小さいものである。
 図5は、L(金属ベルト19の周長)=656mm、D=110mm、a=155mmの条件で、変速比iとミスアライメントCとの関係を、βが11deg、9deg、7degの三つの場合について示すものである。
 同図から明らかなように、変速比i=1のときにミスアライメントC=0であり、そこから変速比iが増加しても、減少してもミスアライメントCが増加し、そのミスアライメントCはV面角βが増加するほど増加することが分かる。
 図6は、図5の横軸を対数化したもので、変速比iに対するミスアライメントCの関係を示すラインは、縦軸に対して左右対称になることが分かる。
 図3に戻り、ドライブプーリ15およびドリブンプーリ17のV面48,48の形状は、変速比i=1のときのV面48,48上における金属エレメント42…との接触点P1,P1よりも径方向内側部分48a,48aと径方向外側部分48b,48bとで異なっている。即ち、V面48,48は基本的に円錐面で構成されるが、その径方向内側部分48a,48aは円錐の母線が直線である一方、その径方向外側部分48b,48bは円錐の母線が径方向外側に向かって相互に離反するように拡開する曲線とされる。ドライブプーリ15の固定側プーリ半体15aおよび可動側プーリ半体15b、ならびにドリブンプーリ17の固定側プーリ半体17aおよび可動側プーリ半体17bの径方向外側部分48b,48bの曲線の形状は全て同一である。
 このように、プーリ15,17のV面48…の径方向外側部分48b…の形状をミスアライメントCに相当する値だけ軸線方向に修正することで、変速比iの変更に伴って金属ベルト19にミスアライメントCが発生しても、金属ベルト19は軸線方向の荷重を受けることなくプーリ15,17の溝中心に整列することができ、金属ベルト19の金属エレメント42…はプーリ15,17のV面48…にスムーズに噛み込むことが可能になって異常摩耗等による耐久性低下を防止することができる。
 尚、可動側プーリ半体15b,17bの軸線方向の位置は固定されておらず、相手側の固定側プーリ半体15a,17aに対して接近・離間することができるため、可動側プーリ半体15b,17bの径方向外側部分48b,48bの母線の形状が直線であっても、ミスアライメントCの補償に関しては何ら影響はない。しかしながら、固定側プーリ半体15a,17aの母線の形状だけが曲線で可動側プーリ半体15b,17bの母線の形状が直線であると、固定側プーリ半体15a,17aおよび可動側プーリ半体15b,17b間に挟まれた金属エレメント42…が不均衡な荷重を受けて倒れようとするため、異常摩耗等の原因になる可能性がある。このような理由から、可動側プーリ半体15b,17bの径方向外側部分48b,48bの母線の形状は、それに対向する固定側プーリ半体15a,17aの径方向外側部分48b,48bの母線の形状に対して対称な形状とすることが望ましい。
 次に、図7および図8に基づいて、V面48の母線の形状を具体的に説明する。
 図7(A)はドライブプーリ15を示すものであり、その楕円で囲んだ部分のV面48の形状が、図7(B)に拡大して示される。V面48の母線の形状を数式で示すために、ドライブシャフト11上にY軸を置き、ドライブプーリ15の径方向にX軸を置く。P1は変速比iが1のときのV面48および金属ベルト19の接触点の位置であり、PLおよびPOはそれぞれ変速比iがLOWおよびODのときの前記接触点の位置である。X軸はPLを通るように配置される。PL、P1、POのX座標をそれぞれXL、X1、XOとすると、XL≦X≦X1のとき、つまりV面48の径方向内側部分48aの母線の形状は、
             Y=(X-XL)×tanβ
で与えられる。またX1<X≦XOのとき、つまりV面48の径方向外側部分48bの母線の形状は、
            Y=(X-XL)×tanβ+C
で与えられる。ここで、βはV面角、CはそのX座標に対応するミスアライメントである。
 図8(A)はドリブンプーリ17を示すものであり、その楕円で囲んだ部分のV面48の形状が、図8(B)に拡大して示される。V面48の母線の形状を数式で示すために、ドリブンシャフト12上にY軸を置き、ドリブンプーリ17の径方向にX軸を置く。P1は変速比iが1のときのV面48および金属ベルト19の接触点の位置であり、POおよびPLはそれぞれ変速比iがODおよびLOWのときの前記接触点の位置である。X軸はPOを通るように配置される。PO、P1、PLのX座標をそれぞれXO、X1、XLとすると、XO≦X≦X1のとき、つまりV面48の径方向内側部分48aの母線の形状は、
             Y=(X-XO)×tanβ
で与えられる。またX1<X≦XLのとき、つまりV面48の径方向外側部分48bの母線の形状は、
            Y=(X-XO)×tanβ+C
で与えられる。ここで、βはV面角、CはそのX座標に対応するミスアライメントである。
 図9は、前記図4において、ドライブプーリ15の固定側プーリ半体15aおよびドリブンプーリ17の固定側プーリ半体17aの径方向外側部分48b,48bの母線の形状をミスアライメントCに応じて修正したものである。
 図9(B)は変速比iが1の状態を示しており、この状態ではドライブプーリ15の溝中心線L1とドリブンプーリ17の溝中心線L2とが整列し、金属ベルト19の全体が同一平面内に配置されてミスアライメントCはゼロになる。このとき金属ベルト19は固定側プーリ半体15a,17aの径方向内側部分48a,48aおよび径方向外側部分48b,48bの境目に接するため、径方向外側部分48b,48bの母線の形状を変更したことの影響はなく、図4(B)の場合と同様にミスアライメントCはゼロに保たれる。
 図9(A)は変速比iがLOWの状態を示しており、この状態ではドライブプーリ15側に対してドリブンプーリ17側が左方向に偏倚するミスアライメントCが発生するが(図4(A)参照)、ドリブンプーリ17の固定側プーリ半体17aの径方向外側部分48bの母線の形状をミスアライメントCに相当する量だけ右側に修正したので、ドライブプーリ15の溝中心線L1およびドリブンプーリ17の溝中心線L2が一致してミスアライメントCが消滅する。
 図9(C)は変速比iがODの状態を示しており、この状態ではドライブプーリ15側に対してドリブンプーリ17側が左方向に偏倚するミスアライメントCが発生するが(図4(C)参照)、ドライブプーリ15の固定側プーリ半体15aの径方向外側部分48bの母線の形状をミスアライメントCに相当する量だけ左側に修正したので、ドライブプーリ15の溝中心線L1およびドリブンプーリ17の溝中心線L2が一致してミスアライメントCが消滅する。
 上述したように、本実施の形態によれば、V面48の径方向外側部分48bの母線のY座標をミスアライメントCに相当する量だけ補正した曲線形状とすることで、ミスアライメントCの影響を補償することができるだけでなく、V面48の径方向内側部分48aの母線の形状を直線とすることで、プーリ15,17および金属ベルト19間の摩擦係数を充分に確保し、プーリ15,17に対する金属ベルト19のスリップを防止することができる。以下、その理由を説明する。
 プーリ15,17のV面48および金属ベルト19の金属エレメント42間の摩擦係数は一定ではなく、V面48の母線の形状が直線のときは摩擦係数が大きくなり、V面48の母線の形状が曲線のときは摩擦係数が小さくなる。その理由は、プーリ15,17および金属ベルト19は直接接触しているわけではなく、その接触部に膜状の潤滑油が介在しているためである。V面48の母線の形状が曲線であると、それが直線である場合に比べて接触部の面積が小さくなるために、その油膜の剪断強さが小さくなって摩擦係数が低下する。一方、V面48の母線の形状が直線であると、接触部の面積が大きくなるために、その油膜の剪断強さが大きくなって摩擦係数が増加する。
 このように、V面48の径方向内側部分48aおよび径方向外側部分48bのうち、母線の形状が直線である径方向内側部分48aは摩擦係数が高くなり、母線の形状が曲線である径方向外側部分48bは摩擦係数が低くなる。
 図10(A)は、変速比iがLOWのときの金属ベルト19の状態を示すものであり、金属ベルト19の巻き付き半径は、ドライブプーリ15側で小さくなってドリブンプーリ17側で大きくなる。よって、ドライブプーリ15に係合する金属エレメント42…の数は、ドリブンプーリ17に係合する金属エレメント42…の数よりも少なくなる。また伝達トルクは、個々の金属エレメント42が負担する摩擦力と、プーリに係合する金属エレメント42の数と、軸線から巻き付き位置までの距離との積で与えられるが、ドライブプーリ15側では、それに係合する金属エレメント42の数と、軸線から巻き付き位置までの距離とが共に小さいため、個々の金属エレメント42が負担する摩擦力が大きくなる。一方、ドリブンプーリ17側では、それに係合する金属エレメント42の数と、軸線から巻き付き位置までの距離とが共に大きいため、個々の金属エレメント42が負担する摩擦力が小さくなる。
 よって、プーリ15,17と金属ベルト19との間にスリップが発生するか否かは、ドライブプーリ15の径方向内側部分48aの摩擦係数が充分に確保されるか否かによって決まることになり、ドリブンプーリ17の径方向外側部分48bの摩擦係数は殆ど影響しないことになる。本実施の形態では、ドライブプーリ15の径方向内側部分48aの母線の形状が直線で構成されていて摩擦係数が大きくなるため、金属ベルト19のスリップを確実に防止することができ、またドライブプーリ15の径方向外側部分48bの母線の形状をミスアライメントCの補償のために曲線で構成しても、それにより金属ベルト19がスリップすることはない。
 図10(B)は、変速比iがODのときの金属ベルト19の状態を示すものであり、金属ベルト19の巻き付き半径は、ドリブンプーリ17側で小さくなってドライブプーリ15側で大きくなる。よって、ドリブンプーリ17に係合する金属エレメント42…の数は、ドライブプーリ15に係合する金属エレメント42…の数よりも少なくなる。また伝達トルクは、個々の金属エレメント42が負担する摩擦力と、プーリに係合する金属エレメント42の数と、軸線から巻き付き位置までの距離との積で与えられるが、ドリブンプーリ17側では、それに係合する金属エレメント42…の数と、軸線から巻き付き位置までの距離とが共に小さいため、個々の金属エレメント42が負担する摩擦力が大きくなる。一方、ドライブプーリ15側では、それに係合する金属エレメント42…の数と、軸線から巻き付き位置までの距離とが共に大きいため、個々の金属エレメント42が負担する摩擦力が小さくなる。
 よって、プーリ15,17と金属ベルト19との間にスリップが発生するか否かは、ドリブンプーリ17の径方向内側部分48aの摩擦係数が充分に確保されるか否かによって決まることになり、ドライブプーリ15の径方向外側部分48bの摩擦係数は殆ど影響しないことになる。本実施の形態では、ドリブンプーリ17の径方向内側部分48aの母線の形状が直線で構成されていて摩擦係数が大きくなるため、金属ベルト19のスリップを確実に防止することができ、またドライブプーリ15の径方向外側部分48bの母線の形状をミスアライメントCの補償のために曲線で構成しても、それにより金属ベルト19がスリップすることはない。
 以上、本発明の実施の形態を説明したが、本発明はその要旨を逸脱しない範囲で種々の設計変更を行うことが可能である。
 例えば、本発明の無端伝動帯は実施の形態の金属ベルト19に限定されず、金属チェーンであっても良い。
 また実施の形態では、V面48の径方向内側部分48aと径方向外側部分48bとの境界を、変速比i=1のときに金属ベルト19がV面48に接触する位置に設定しているが、その境界の位置は変速比i=1のときに金属ベルト19がV面48に接触する位置に限定されず、そこから径方向内側あるいは径方向外側にずらした位置であっても良い。但し、変速比i=1のときの位置に設定すれば、ミスアライメントCの補償および金属ベルト19のスリップ防止を最も適切に両立させることができる。
 また実施の形態ではV面48の径方向外側部分48bの補正量をミスアライメントCの値に一致させているが(図7および図8の一点鎖線参照)、その補正量は任意であり、例えばミスアライメントCの半量(C/2)に設定することができる(図7および図8の破線参照)。補正量を大きくすればミスアライメントCの補償効果が高くなるが摩擦係数の減少量が大きくなり、補正量を小さくすればミスアライメントCの補償効果が低くなるが摩擦係数の減少量が小さくなる。

Claims (4)

  1.  固定側プーリ半体(15a)および可動側プーリ半体(15b)からなるドライブプーリ(15)と、固定側プーリ半体(17a)および可動側プーリ半体(17b)からなるドリブンプーリ(17)と、前記ドライブプーリ(15)のV面(48)および前記ドリブンプーリ(17)のV面(48)に巻き掛けられた無端伝動帯(19)とを備え、前記ドライブプーリ(15)および前記ドリブンプーリ(17)の一方の溝幅を増加させて他方の溝幅を減少させることで変速比を変更する無端伝動帯式無段変速機において、
     前記ドライブプーリ(15)および前記ドリブンプーリ(17)の少なくとも前記固定側プーリ半体(15a,17a)のV面(48)は、所定位置よりも径方向内側部分(48a)の母線の形状が直線であり、前記所定位置よりも径方向外側部分(48b)の母線の形状が前記無端伝動帯(19)のミスアライメント(C)を補償する方向に湾曲する曲線であることを特徴とする無端伝動帯式無段変速機。
  2.  前記ドライブプーリ(15)および前記ドリブンプーリ(17)の前記可動側プーリ半体(15b,17b)のV面(48)の母線の形状は、前記ドライブプーリ(15)および前記ドリブンプーリ(17)の前記固定側プーリ半体(15a,17a)のV面(48)の母線の形状と対称であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の無端伝動帯式無段変速機。
  3.  前記所定位置は、変速比が1のときに前記ドライブプーリ(15)および前記ドリブンプーリ(17)のV面(48)に前記無端伝動帯(19)が接触する位置であることを特徴とする、請求項1または請求項2に記載の無端伝動帯式無段変速機。
  4.  前記ミスアライメント(C)の補償量は、該ミスアライメント(C)の値未満に設定されることを特徴とする、請求項1~請求項3の何れか1項に記載の無端伝動帯式無段変速機。
