Abstract
Description
一方、近年、コンピュータや、インターネットの益々の発達に伴い、取り扱うデータ量が爆発的に増大しており、バックアップに用いられる記録装置の大容量化が求められている。このような大容量の情報記録再生装置として、テープ状媒体に光ディスクの様な光学信号を記録し再生するテープストリーマが注目されている。
よって、テープ状の媒体を用いたテープストリーマにおいては、テープ上にブラシ等の立体的な物を配置することができず、クリーニング部材と光ピックアップの対物レンズを接触させるような構成を採用して光ピックアップをクリーニングすることができなかった。
第3の観点によれば、対物レンズを有しテープ状媒体に対し光学的に情報を記録及び再生する光ピックアップを備える情報記録再生装置を用いて、対物レンズをクリーニングする光ピックアップクリーニング方法が提供される。同クリーニング方法においては、テープ状媒体がクリーニングテープであることを検知し、テープ状媒体を対物レンズに対向するように装着させ、上記検知に応じて、テープ状媒体と対物レンズとを接触させる動作を行い、テープ状媒体と対物レンズとを接触させた状態で、テープ状媒体の繰出しを行う。
1 実施形態1
1.1 情報記録再生装置100の構成
図1は、本実施形態に係る情報記録再生装置100の一例の模式図である。情報記録再生装置100には、光ピックアップにより情報の再生及び記録が可能なテープ状媒体がセットされる。情報記録再生装置100(情報記録再生装置の一例)は、焦点制御アクチュエータ4aや対物レンズ4b(対物レンズの一例)等を備える光ピックアップ4(光ピックアップの一例)、複数のガイドローラ5、巻取リール6、及びカセット装着部8(図3)を備える。
カセット装着部8(図3)は、カセットを装着する部分であり、後述するように装着されたカセットがクリーニングカセット1かどうかを検知する検知機構9を有する。
図3は、情報記録再生装置100を概略的且つ模式的に示す側面図であり、クリーニングカセット1が装着された状態を示す。同図に示すように、情報記録再生装置100のカセット装着部分8には、検知機構9が設けられる。検知機構9は、装着されたカセット方向に出没可能に構成されたピン部9aを有する。ピン部9aは、例えば、バネ等の弾性部材(図示省略)により図面上方(つまり、装着されたカセット方向に)に付勢されている。検知機構9は、例えば、光学センサや接触センサ等を含み、ピン部9aの移動を検知して、装着されたカセットがクリーニングカセット1かどうかを検知する。情報記録再生装置100は更に、コントローラ10を備える。なお、図3に示すコントローラ10は説明を容易にするために概念的に示したものであり、その位置は情報記録再生装置100に設けられていればいずれの位置に設けられていてもよい。
一方、通常の記録再生用テープカセット(図示省略)が装着される場合、通常の記録再生用テープカセットは識別孔を有しないため、装着されたテープカセットによりピン部9aが付勢に抗して図面下方(つまり、装着されたカセットとは離れる方向)に押される。検知機構9は、ピン部9aのこの移動を検知し、その検知信号をコントローラ10に送信する。
図4は、本実施形態に係るクリーニング動作を実行するためのコントローラ10の構成を示す。コントローラ10(制御部の一例)は、検知機構9からの信号に応じてクリーニングカセットの装着を検知するクリーニングカセット装着検知部11と、クリーニングカセット装着検知部11からの信号に応じてクリーニング動作を実行するための制御指令を行うクリーニング動作制御部12と、テープの巻取り動作を制御するテープ巻取り制御部13とを有する。
クリーニング動作制御部12は、クリーニングカセット装着検知部11による検知に応じ、光ピックアップ移動機構41に対し光ピックアップ4の移動を指令する。具体的には、クリーニング動作制御部12は、光ピックアップ移動機構41により光ピックアップ4の焦点制御アクチュエータ4aをクリーニングテープ3に対し近づく方向に移動させるよう制御する。クリーニング動作制御部12はまた、テープ巻取り制御部13からの信号に応じて光ピックアップ移動機構41に対して光ピックアップの移動を指令する。具体的には、クリーニング動作制御部12は、光ピックアップ移動機構41により光ピックアップ4の焦点制御アクチュエータ4aをクリーニングテープ3から離れる方向に移動させるよう制御する。
巻取リール駆動機構61(第1駆動機構の一例)は、テープ巻取り制御部13の指令信号に応じて、巻取リール6をテープを繰り出す方向(ここでは、カセットのテープを巻取リール6により巻き取る方向)に回転させる。
繰出リール駆動機構21(第2駆動機構の一例)は、テープ巻取り制御部13の指令信号に応じて、繰出リール2をテープを巻き戻す方向(ここでは、巻取リール6のテープを繰出リール2に巻き取る方向)に回転させる。
1.2 情報記録再生装置100によるクリーニング動作
光ピックアップ4のクリーニング動作は、情報記録再生装置100において情報が正しく記録再生できなかった場合等に実施される。情報記録再生装置100からのクリーニング要求等を受けてユーザは、クリーニングカセット1を情報記録再生装置100に装着する。図5は、カセットの装着が完了後クリーニング動作を行うまでの主にコントローラ10による処理を示す。
なお、情報記録再生装置100は、クリーニングカセット1の装着後、クリーニングテープ3を巻取リール6にまでローディングする。
ステップS104:テープ巻取り制御部13により、巻取リール駆動機構61を駆動させ、巻取リール6を回転駆動させてテープの繰り出しを開始する。なお、この回転駆動は、ユーザ操作により開始してもよいし、クリーニング動作制御部12によりステップS103の焦点制御アクチュエータ4aの移動が検知されて自動的に開始してもよい。この繰出し動作により、クリーニングテープ3は対物レンズ4bに接触しながら繰り出され、対物レンズ4bの表面が摩擦によりクリーニングされる。
ステップS106:テープ繰出しが完了した場合又はテープ繰出しが停止された場合は、クリーニング動作制御部12からの指令信号に応じて、光ピックアップ移動機構41が駆動される。具体的には、焦点制御アクチュエータ4aは、図6Aに示す位置までクリーニングテープ3から離れる方向に移動する。また、このとき、クリーニング動作制御部12からの指令信号に応じて、テープ巻取り制御部13は繰出リール駆動機構221を回転駆動させ、巻取リール6に一時的に巻き取られたクリーニングテープ3を繰出リール2に巻き戻す。そして、ユーザ操作によりクリーニングカセット1を排出する動作を行い、クリーニング動作が完了する。
1.3 実施形態1の特徴
以上のように、本実施形態においては、情報記録再生装置100において、コントローラ10によってテープがクリーニングテープ3であることを検知し、その検知に応じてクリーニングテープ3と対物レンズ4bとを接触させるまでピックアップ移動機構41を移動させ、クリーニングテープ3と対物レンズ4bとを接触させた状態で巻取リール駆動機構61によりクリーニングテープ3の繰出しを実行し、クリーニング動作が行われる。これにより、植毛等の立体的な構造物をクリーニングテープ上に設ける必要がない。従って、レンズ側に突出物を備えないテープ状のクリーニングテープであっても、光ピックアップ4のクリーニングが可能となる。
2 実施形態2
以下、実施形態2に係る情報記録再生装置によるクリーニング動作について説明する。図7A及び図7Bに示すように、実施形態2においては、光ピックアップではなく光ピックアップに対峙するテープを架設したガイドローラを光ピックアップ方向に移動させる機構を有する点において、実施形態1と異なる。
2.1 情報記録再生装置100の構成
図8は、本実施形態に係るクリーニング動作を実行するためのコントローラ210の構成を示す。コントローラ210(制御部の一例)は、検知機構9からの信号に応じてクリーニングカセットの装着を検知するクリーニングカセット装着検知部211と、クリーニングカセット装着検知部211からの信号に応じてクリーニング動作を実行するための制御指令を行うクリーニング動作制御部212と、テープの巻取り動作を制御するテープ巻取り制御部213とを有する。
クリーニング動作制御部212は、クリーニングカセット装着検知部211による検知に応じ、ガイドローラ移動機構251(移動機構の一例)に対しガイドローラ5の移動を指令する。なお、ガイドローラ移動機構251は、複数のガイドローラ5のうち少なくとも光ピックアップ4に対峙する位置にあるガイドローラ(図7A及び図7Bでは二つ)を移動させる機構であればよい。具体的には、クリーニング動作制御部212は、ガイドローラ駆動機構251を駆動して、図7Bに示すように、光ピックアップ4に対峙するクリーニングテープ3を架設した二つのガイドローラ5(テープ装着部の一例)を光ピックアップ4に近づく方向に移動させる。この移動により、図7Bに示すように、光ピックアップ4の対物レンズ4bが不織布で構成されたクリーニングテープ3に接触する。
テープ巻取り制御部213は、ユーザからの操作やクリーニング動作制御部212からの指令信号に応じて、巻取リール駆動機構261や繰出リール駆動機構221を駆動させ、巻取リール6や繰出リール2を回転させる。テープ巻取り制御部213はまた、ユーザからの操作や巻取リール駆動機構261からの指令信号に応じて、クリーニング動作制御部212に対し巻取リールの駆動停止(テープの繰り出し完了)を通知する。
巻取リール駆動機構261(第1駆動機構の一例)は、テープ巻取り制御部213の指令信号に応じて、巻取リール6をテープを繰り出す方向(ここでは、カセットのテープを巻取リール6により巻き取る方向)に回転させる。
繰出リール駆動機構221(第2駆動機構の一例)は、テープ巻取り制御部213の指令信号に応じて、繰出リール2をテープを巻き戻す方向(ここでは、巻取リール6のテープを繰出リール2に巻き取る方向)に回転させる。
2.2 情報記録再生装置100によるクリーニング動作
図9は、カセットの装着が完了後クリーニング動作を行うまでの主にコントローラ210による処理を示す。
なお、情報記録再生装置100は、クリーニングカセット1の装着後、クリーニングテープ3を巻取リール6にまでローディングする。
ステップS204:テープ巻取り制御部213により、巻取リール駆動機構261を駆動させ、巻取リール6を回転駆動させてテープの繰り出しを開始する。なお、この回転駆動は、ユーザ操作により開始してもよいし、クリーニング動作制御部212によりステップS203のガイドローラ5の移動が検知されて自動的に開始してもよい。この繰出し動作により、クリーニングテープ3は対物レンズ4bに接触しながら繰り出され、対物レンズ4bの表面が摩擦によりクリーニングされる。
ステップS206:テープ繰出しが完了した場合又はテープ繰出しが停止された場合は、クリーニング動作制御部212からの指令信号に応じて、ガイドローラ移動機構251が駆動される。具体的には、ガイドローラ5は、図7Aに示す位置までクリーニングテープ3から離れる方向に移動する。また、このとき、クリーニング動作制御部212からの指令信号に応じて、テープ巻取り制御部213は繰出リール駆動機構221を回転駆動させ、巻取リール6に一時的に巻き取られたクリーニングテープ3を繰出リール2に巻き戻す。そして、ユーザ操作によりクリーニングカセット1を排出する動作を行い、クリーニング動作が完了する。
2.3 実施形態2の特徴
以上のように、本実施形態に係る情報記録再生装置100において、コントローラ210によってテープがクリーニングテープ3であることを検知し、その検知に応じてクリーニングテープ3と対物レンズ4bとを接触させるまでガイドローラ移動機構251を移動させ、クリーニングテープ3と対物レンズ4bとを接触させた状態で巻取リール駆動機構261によりクリーニングテープ3の繰出しを実行し、クリーニング動作が行われる。これにより、植毛等の立体的な構造物をクリーニングテープ上に設ける必要がない。従って、レンズ側に突出物を備えないテープ状のクリーニングテープ3であっても、光ピックアップ4のクリーニングが可能となる。
2.4 実施形態2の変形例
上記実施形態においては、ガイドローラ駆動機構251は、光ピックアップ4に対向するようにクリーニングテープ3を架設した二つのガイドローラ5を光ピックアップ4に近づく方向に移動させる構成を有するが、これに限定されない。例えば、クリーニングテープ3を架設した他のガイドローラ5を共にスライド移動させる構成であってもよいし、巻取リール6の装着部分やカセット装着部分を含めた部分の一部又は全部をスライド移動させる構成であってもよい。
3 その他実施形態
以上のように、実施形態1及び2について説明してきたが、本発明は上記の実施形態に限定されないのは勿論である。本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない範囲で実施変更することができる。例えば、次のようなバリエーションが考えられる。
また、クリーニングテープ3の素材は不織布を用いたが、これに限定するものではない。研磨テープや他のクリーニング方式を用いても良い。
また、上記実施形態においては、クリーニングカセット1を装着してクリーニング動作を行っていたが、これに限定されない。例えば、通常の記録再生用のテープの繰り出し始め部分又は繰り出し最後の部分に所定長のクリーニングテープ部分を形成し、通常の記録再生動作を行う前又は後にクリーニングできるようにしてもよい。この場合、例えば、光ピックアップ4側でクリーニングテープ部分を検知後、上記実施形態と同様に焦点制御アクチュエータ4a又はガイドローラ5を移動させるようにしてもよい。

Claims (8)
- テープ状媒体に対し光学的に情報を記録及び再生する情報記録再生装置であって、
対物レンズを有し、レーザ光によりテープ状媒体に情報を記録し又はテープ状媒体上の情報を再生する光ピックアップと、
テープ状媒体を前記対物レンズに対向するように装着するテープ装着部と、
前記テープ状媒体がクリーニングテープであることを検知する制御部と、
前記制御部の検知に応じて、前記テープ状媒体と前記対物レンズとを接触させるように動作する移動機構と、
前記テープ状媒体と前記対物レンズとを接触させた状態で、前記テープ状媒体の繰出しを実行する第1駆動機構と、
を備える、情報記録再生装置。 - 前記移動機構は、前記対物レンズを移動させることにより、前記テープ状媒体と前記対物レンズとを接触させる、
請求項1に記載の情報記録再生装置 - 前記移動機構は、前記テープ装着部を移動させることにより、前記テープ状媒体と前記対物レンズとを接触させる、

テープ状媒体がクリーニングテープであることを検知し、
前記テープ状媒体を前記対物レンズに対向するように装着させ、
前記検知に応じて、前記テープ状媒体と前記対物レンズとを接触させる動作を行い、
前記テープ状媒体と前記対物レンズとを接触させた状態で、前記テープ状媒体の繰出しを行う、
光ピックアップクリーニング方法。
