  • the present invention relates to a display device such as a liquid crystal display device, and more particularly to a drive circuit and a drive method for driving a data signal line of the display device.
  • Liquid crystal display devices are characterized by thinness and low power consumption, and are used for various purposes. Liquid crystal display devices are also used in portable devices that operate on batteries, for example.
  • display screens of portable devices have been increasing in screen size and resolution. As the screen size increases and the resolution increases, the load on the driving circuit of the liquid crystal panel increases and the operating frequency of the driving circuit increases. For this reason, the power consumption of the liquid crystal display device increases. Therefore, in order to reduce the battery size of portable devices, liquid crystal display devices are required to further reduce power consumption.
  • the power consumption of the liquid crystal display device is roughly classified into power consumption of the liquid crystal panel (power consumption due to charging / discharging) and power consumption of the drive circuit.

Description

階調L2(L2<L1)のときには、データ信号線は時間T2(T2<T1)だけ充電され、到達電圧はV2(V2<V1)となる。
