Definitions
- the present invention relates to a control device for a dental handpiece for cutting a root canal of a tooth.
- a dental handpiece for cutting a tooth root canal is configured to rotate a cutting tool with a motor.
- the cutting tool for cutting the root canal of the tooth has an elongated shape. If the cutting tool bites into the teeth during cutting of the tooth root canal, a force in the twisting direction acts on the cutting tool, and as a result, there is a problem that the cutting tool is easily broken.
- step S101 a voltage is applied to the motor (step S101), and the applied voltage is increased until the rotational speed of the motor reaches a set speed (step S102). , S103).
- step S104 the relay is switched and the voltage application direction is switched every time a certain time elapses (steps S104 to S107).
- step S104 the motor reverses at regular intervals, and the cutting tool is rotated forward and backward.
- the voltage applied to the motor remains constant, and the polarity of the voltage applied to the motor is switched by operating the relay at regular intervals. It is like that. Then, immediately after switching the relay, the current applied to the motor increases instantaneously (hereinafter referred to as inrush current). Then, a large rotational torque is applied to the cutting tool, and there is a problem that a shock is applied to an operator who is performing treatment with a handpiece and a patient to be treated. Moreover, since it also becomes a load to the motor, there is a problem that the motor generates heat.
- the present invention has been made based on such a technical problem, and can prevent a surgeon having a dental handpiece and a patient to be treated from being shocked, thereby reducing the load on the motor.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a dental handpiece control device that can reduce the heat generation.
- the dental handpiece control device of the present invention is built in the dental handpiece and applies a voltage to a motor for rotating a cutting tool attached to the dental handpiece.
- a rotation direction switching unit that switches the rotation direction of the motor by switching the polarity of the voltage applied to the motor by the voltage application unit, and a control unit that controls the magnitude of the voltage applied by the voltage application unit, Prior to the voltage polarity switching performed by the rotation direction switching unit, the control unit may apply a voltage applied from the voltage application unit to the motor (hereinafter referred to as “voltage applied from the voltage application unit to the motor”). ) Is inclined and lowered.
- the motor application voltage is tilted and lowered, and then the motor application voltage is switched by the rotation direction switching unit. A low voltage is applied. Thereby, the rotational speed of the motor immediately after switching is suppressed. In order to make this effect more prominent, it is preferable to increase the voltage applied to the motor in an inclined manner after the voltage polarity switching described above.
- control unit may control the rotation direction switching unit to switch the voltage polarity as described above every time a predetermined time period elapses.
- the dental handpiece control device of the present invention may further include a sensor that detects the rotation angle of the motor.
- control unit can also control the rotation direction switching unit to switch the voltage polarity as described above when the rotation angle of the motor detected by the sensor reaches a predetermined constant angle.
- the control unit of the present invention calibrates the rate at which the voltage applied from the voltage applying unit to the motor is decreased or increased (hereinafter referred to as “rate RT”). It is preferable to have the function to perform.
- the control unit preferably variably controls the rate RT.
- the variable control of the rate RT in this way provides various benefits to the present invention, as will be described in detail in the embodiments described later.
- This variable control includes at least the following forms a to d.
- Form a The rate RT is variably controlled according to the rotational speed of the motor.
- the form a is effective when the load is not applied to the motor or is small even if it is applied, and the rotational speed in the steady period is variable.
- the steady period refers to a period during which the motor rotates in one direction, excluding a period related to switching of the rotation direction.
- Form b The rate RT is variably controlled according to the load torque applied to the motor.
- Form b is effective for avoiding a decrease in the rotation speed of the motor due to the load torque and rotating the motor while maintaining the set rotation speed.
- Form c When a plurality of rates for decreasing or increasing the voltage applied to the motor from the voltage application unit are set in advance, the rate RT is variably controlled according to the rate selected from the plurality of rates. To do. Form c responds to a request to change the rate RT according to the intention of the surgeon who is the user. Form d: The rate RT is variably controlled according to the distance from the apex to be treated to the cutting tool. In the form c, it is necessary to interrupt the treatment when the rate RT is changed according to the progress of the treatment. On the other hand, the form d has an advantage that the rate RT can be automatically changed according to the progress of treatment.
- the heat generation of the motor can be suppressed by reducing the load, but a measure for making the effect of suppressing the heat generation more prominent is provided.
- This measure is that the control unit variably controls the reciprocation time T of the motor specified by the following equation 2 according to the degree of heat generation of the motor.
- T Tcw + Tstop + Tccw ... Formula 2
- Motor reciprocation time T Time required for forward and reverse rotation of motor
- Tcw Time required for forward rotation of motor
- Tccw Time required for reverse rotation of motor
- Tstop Motor stop time required for switching the rotation direction from normal rotation to reverse rotation
- the motor applied voltage is lowered prior to switching the polarity of the motor applied voltage by the rotation direction switching unit. Thereafter, when the polarity of the motor applied voltage is switched by the rotation direction switching unit, a low voltage is applied to the motor. Thereby, the rotational speed of the motor immediately after the rotation direction is switched can be suppressed, and a large rotational torque can be prevented from being applied to the cutting tool. As a result, it is possible to prevent a surgeon having a dental handpiece and a patient to be treated from being shocked, reduce the load on the motor, and suppress the heat generation.

- (b) is a motor applied voltage
- (c) is a figure which shows the change of load torque.
- FIG. 15 is a diagram showing changes in rotation angle, rotation speed, motor applied voltage, and motor current when the control flow shown in FIG. 14 is executed.
- a control device 10 for a dental handpiece (hereinafter simply referred to as a “handpiece”) is for controlling the operation of a motor 20 incorporated in the handpiece, and includes a control unit 11 and a display unit 12. , A setting unit 13, a power source 14, a driving unit (voltage applying unit) 15, a sensor 16, a relay (rotation direction switching unit) 17, and a current detection resistor 18.
- the control unit 11 is a computer unit including a CPU, a memory, and the like.
- the display unit 12 is a monitor, an indicator lamp, or the like that displays information indicating the rotation speed, generated torque, and the like, information for setting the operation of the motor 20 in the control unit 11, and the like as the operation status of the motor 20.
- the setting unit 13 includes operation buttons, a touch panel, a switch, and the like for setting operation conditions such as the rotation speed, torque, and rotation angle of the motor 20 with respect to the control unit 11.
- the power supply 14 supplies power for causing the handpiece control device 10 and the motor 20 to function.
- the drive unit 15 adjusts a voltage value applied to the motor 20 based on a command from the control unit 11.
- the sensor 16 includes a hall element that detects the rotation angle of the motor 20.
- the relay 17 switches the voltage application polarity to the motor 20.
- the current detection resistor 18 detects the current that has passed through the relay 17, converts the current (motor current) that flows through the motor 20 into a voltage, and feeds it back to the control unit 11.
- the control unit 11 can detect the load torque based on the fed back voltage value.
- the control device 10 automatically executes the following control based on a preset computer program.
- application of a voltage to the motor 20 is started by a command from the control unit 11 (step S201).
- the drive unit 15 increases the voltage to be applied at a predetermined step amount in a tilted manner (step S202).
- the rotation speed of the motor 20 is increased at a ratio corresponding to the applied voltage. This rate of increase in rotational speed is called the acceleration rate.
- This acceleration rate (step amount when the applied voltage increases) is arbitrary in the present invention.
- the acceleration rate can be calibrated based on the operator's intention each time treatment is started using the handpiece. Specific examples of control and setting of the acceleration rate will be described in the second and subsequent embodiments.
- step S203 the control unit 11 determines whether or not the rotation speed of the motor 20 has reached the set speed. For this, the rotation speed of the motor is detected by the sensor 16 and it is determined whether or not the detected value has reached the set value (set speed) of the rotation speed of the motor 20 set in advance by the setting unit 13. To do. As a result, if the set speed has not been reached, the process returns to step S202, and the voltage applied to the motor 20 is increased until the rotational speed of the motor 20 reaches the set speed.
- the voltage applied to the motor 20 is tilted by a predetermined step amount when the predetermined time t1 is reached as shown in FIG. It is lowered (steps S204 and S205). Then, the rotation speed of the motor 20 is reduced at a ratio according to the applied voltage. This speed reduction ratio is referred to as a deceleration rate.
- This deceleration rate (step amount when the applied voltage decreases) can be controlled with a fixed value during the operation of the motor 20, and is arbitrary in the present invention, like the above-described acceleration rate.
- the voltage may be lowered to 0 V or may be lowered to a predetermined voltage value.
- step S206 Thereafter, the relay 17 is switched, the polarity of the voltage applied to the motor 20 is switched, and the rotation direction of the motor 20 is switched to reverse the rotation (step S206).
- the drive unit 15 inclines the voltage to be applied by a predetermined step amount until the rotation speed of the motor 20 reaches the set speed. It is increased (steps S207 and S208).
- the voltage to be applied to the motor 20 is reached in the same manner as in steps S202 to S203 when the predetermined time t1 is reached after starting to rotate in that direction.
- the voltage may be lowered to 0 V or may be lowered to a predetermined voltage value.
- step S211 Thereafter, the relay 17 is switched, the polarity of the voltage applied to the motor 20 is switched again, and the rotation direction of the motor 20 is switched to perform normal rotation (step S211). Thereafter, the process returns to step S202, and the above processing is automatically repeated until an operation for stopping the operation of the handpiece is performed by a switch or the like.
- the rotation direction of the motor 20 will reverse
- the voltage applied to the motor 20 is reduced before switching the relay 17 and switching the rotation direction of the motor 20, that is, prior to switching the polarity of the voltage applied to the motor 20.
- the load on the motor 20 can be reduced, and the heat generation of the motor 20 can be suppressed.
- steps S204 and S209 the relay 17 is switched and the rotation direction of the motor 20 is reversed every time a certain time elapses.
- the present invention is not limited to this. It is also possible to switch the relay 17 and reverse the rotation direction of the motor 20 each time it rotates.
- the rotation angle of the motor 20 is detected by the sensor 16, and it is determined whether or not the rotation angle has reached a predetermined constant angle. The process proceeds to steps S205 and S210.
- the voltage to apply is inclined and increased. This is a preferred form of the present invention, but allows to increase the applied voltage to rise vertically.
- the configuration of the handpiece itself is not limited at all.
- the handpiece control device 10 can also be selected from the configuration described in the above embodiment or other configurations without departing from the gist of the present invention, such as its hardware configuration and control contents by software. It is possible to change appropriately.
- the acceleration rate and the deceleration rate can be fixed values.
- the motor 20 there are individual differences in the motor 20, and this individual difference also varies depending on the usage period of the control device 10 and the motor 20. Therefore, when the acceleration rate and the deceleration rate that are fixed values are used, it is possible to prevent a large rotational torque from being applied to the cutting tool during the reversing operation for switching from normal rotation to reverse rotation (or vice versa). There is a risk that the effect cannot be fully enjoyed.
- the current value is constant as shown by the current value Ir (Rotation) in FIG. 5C, whereas when the motor 20 is reversed, FIG. As shown by the current value Itw (Twist) in (c), an inrush current is generated.
- the second embodiment proposes that a preferable acceleration rate or deceleration rate capable of avoiding a significant decrease in cutting efficiency while reducing the inrush current is set based on the relationship between the current value Ir and the current value Itw.
- the acceleration rate or the deceleration rate is derived from the acceleration completion angle ⁇ , the deceleration start angle ⁇ , the reverse rotation speed ⁇ , and the set rotation speed shown in FIGS. 5 (a) and 5 (b). Therefore, by adjusting parameters such as the acceleration completion angle ⁇ , the current value Itw is varied, and the control device 10 is calibrated. This calibration procedure is performed based on an instruction from the control unit 11.
- This calibration procedure is shown in FIG. First, the motor 20 is rotated to reach the set rotation speed (step S301 in FIG. 4).
- the motor current (current value Ir) at this time is fed back to the control unit 11 via the current detection resistor 18 and stored in the control unit 11 (step S302 in FIG. 4).
- the stored current value Ir becomes a reference for setting the acceleration rate or the deceleration rate that is the object of the calibration.
- the rotation of the motor 20 refers to rotation in only one direction of normal rotation or reverse rotation.
- the control unit 11 applies a voltage so as to reach the set rotation speed (step S303 in FIG. 4).
- the control unit 11 initially sets each of the acceleration completion angle ⁇ , the deceleration start angle ⁇ , and the reverse rotation speed ⁇ , and causes the motor 20 to perform forward and reverse rotations based on the initial settings.
- the motor current (current value Itw) at the time of the inversion is also fed back to the control unit 11 via the current detection resistor 18 and stored in the control unit 11 (step S304 in FIG. 4).
- the control unit 11 determines whether or not the stored current value Ir and current value Itw satisfy the following formula 1 (step S305 in FIG. 4).
- Itw ⁇ Ir ⁇ K Equation 1 K in Equation 1 is a constant set in the control unit 11 and is set to regulate the current value Itw within a predetermined range with reference to the current value Ir.
- K is usually given a value exceeding 1, but the closer the K is to 1, the smaller the inrush current can be, but the cutting efficiency tends to decrease. Conversely, the inrush current increases as K moves away from 1, but the cutting efficiency tends to improve. In the control unit 11, K can be changed.
- the control unit 11 determines that the stored current value Ir and current value Itw satisfy Expression 1
- the initially set rotational speed, acceleration completion angle ⁇ , deceleration start angle ⁇ , and reverse rotation speed ⁇ are determined as follows.
- the data is stored in the control unit 11, and the calibration ends (FIG. 4, step S305 (Yes), step S309).
- the control unit 11 determines that the stored current value Ir and current value Itw do not satisfy the expression 1, the control unit 11 sets the initial deceleration start angle ⁇ , the reverse rotation speed ⁇ , and the acceleration completion angle ⁇ . Each is reset (FIG. 4, step S305 (No), step S306, step S307, step S308).
- control unit 11 performs the reversing operation of the motor 20 as before (step S303 in FIG. 4), stores the current value Itw (step S304 in FIG. 4), and stores the current value Ir and the current value Itw as expressed by the formula 1.
- a determination is made as to whether or not the condition is satisfied (step S305 in FIG. 4). If YES is determined in step S305, the control unit 11 stores the reset acceleration completion angle ⁇ , deceleration start angle ⁇ , and reverse rotation speed ⁇ , and ends the calibration (step S309 in FIG. 4).
- step S305 if it is determined that the stored current value Ir and current value Itw do not yet satisfy Equation 1 (when NO is determined in step S305), the deceleration start angle ⁇ , the reverse rotation speed ⁇ , and the acceleration completion angle ⁇ Resetting (step S306, step S307, step S308), storing current value Itw (FIG. 4, step S304), determining whether stored current value Ir and current value Itw satisfy Equation 1 (FIG. 4). The control unit 11 repeats step S305) until the current value Ir and the current value Itw satisfy Expression 1.
- the acceleration rate and the deceleration rate suitable for each motor 20 can be set even if there are individual differences in the motor 20, so that the surgeon and the treatment target can be set.
- a reduction in cutting efficiency can be minimized while preventing shock to the patient.
- the inrush current can be effectively suppressed.
- the accuracy of torque control can be improved by using the current value Itw for torque control of the motor 20 during forward and reverse rotation.
- the control unit 11 can variably control one or both of the acceleration rate and the deceleration rate.
- the acceleration rate and the deceleration rate are variably controlled will be described.
- FIG. 6 shows an example of this, assuming that the set rotational speed of the motor 20 can be varied between R1 and R2, and the set applied voltage is variably controlled between V1 and V2 in accordance with this set rotational speed.
- the control unit 11 stores the relationship between the rotation speed of the motor 20 and the applied voltage. For example, as shown in FIG.
- the control unit 11 controls the motor applied voltage based on the above relational expression.
- the time (rotation angle) required for one cycle from the start of normal rotation to the reverse rotation (or vice versa) is T x, and the required time that allows the rotation speed of the motor 20 to reach the set rotation speed.
- the (rotation angle) is Tr
- the ratio of Tr to Tx is set constant. By doing so, the acceleration rate and deceleration rate of the motor 20 are variably controlled in response to variably controlling the set rotational speed of the motor 20. As shown in FIG.
- this control is executed when the control unit 11 of the control device 110 detects the voltage applied to the motor 20 via the voltage detection line 19.
- the acceleration rate (UR) and the deceleration rate (DR) are fixed values and the set rotational speed of the motor 20 is changed (the set rotational speed is variable), as shown in FIG.
- the set rotational speed R2 may not be reached.
- the rotation speed can reach the set rotation speed R2 even if the set rotation speed is changed to R2.
- the set rotational speed is variable is mentioned here, the same applies to the case where the forward (or reverse) angle required for one cycle, that is, the set rotational angle is variably controlled.
- control mode described above is based on the premise that no load is applied to the motor 20, but this does not include the case where the teeth are not cut at all, and the case where a minute amount of cutting is performed is also included. Is included.
- load torque load torque
- variable control of the acceleration rate and the deceleration rate can be performed according to the load torque, as will be described below.
- the control unit 11 stores a load torque applied to the motor 20 in association with a motor applied voltage to be corrected when the load torque is applied.
- the control unit 11 detects the torque applied to the motor 20, determines a correction value for the set application voltage according to the detected torque, and controls the operation of the motor 20 based on the determined voltage value.
- the load torque applied to the motor 20 can be detected based on the voltage value fed back from the current detection resistor 18 by the control unit 11.
- the acceleration rate and the deceleration rate are variably controlled by setting the time until the motor 20 reaches the set rotational speed when accelerating and decelerating in the same manner as when the motor 20 is not loaded.
- the control unit 11 maintains the motor applied voltage at the set motor applied voltage, thereby realizing that the motor 20 has the same rotational speed R2 as when there is no load.
- the rotation speed of the motor 20 can be controlled to be constant, so that the load torque varies. Even if it does not reduce cutting efficiency.

- Mode X Treatment of shallow root canal
- Mode Y Mode X and mode Z intermediate
- Mode Z Treatment of deep root canal near working length
- the mode X, the mode Y, and the mode Z can be set as follows. Assuming that one cycle (time) of forward rotation including acceleration and deceleration is Tcw, a ratio (%) of time spent for acceleration and deceleration is determined in Tcw. The smaller this ratio, the sharper the acceleration and deceleration, and the higher the cutting efficiency. The larger this ratio, the slower the acceleration and deceleration, and the less the shock.
- the values can be set to 10% for mode X, 20% for mode Y, and 30% for mode Z.

In addition, since careful treatment is required, as in the deep part of the root canal, it is possible to cut using a dental handpiece even if the cutting tool is rotated by a conventional hand. .
- the acceleration rate and the deceleration rate are set in three stages (modes X, Y, and Z).
- the present invention is not limited to this, and the acceleration rate and the deceleration rate may be set in two stages or four or more stages. it can.
- the acceleration rate and deceleration rate of each stage are fixed values, but the present invention includes that the user arbitrarily sets the acceleration rate and deceleration rate.
- the setting unit 13 can be provided with a dial for adjusting the acceleration rate and the deceleration rate, and the acceleration rate and the deceleration rate can be adjusted steplessly.
- mode X, mode Y, and mode Z are used for both forward rotation and reverse rotation.
- different modes can be provided for forward rotation and reverse rotation.
- one forward rotation period (Tcw) and one reverse rotation period (Tccw) of each of the mode X, mode Y, and mode Z are made constant, but for each of the mode X, mode Y, and mode Z
- One cycle of forward rotation and one cycle of reverse rotation can be changed.
- the stop time (Tstop) of the motor 20 between forward rotation and reverse rotation is also made to coincide in each of the mode X, mode Y, and mode Z.
- the stop time of each of the mode X, mode Y, and mode Z (Tstop) can also be changed.
- the user sets the acceleration rate and the deceleration rate.
- the therapy is interrupted when the acceleration rate and the deceleration rate are changed in accordance with the progress of the therapy. Therefore, the fifth embodiment shows an example in which the acceleration rate and the deceleration rate can be automatically changed according to the progress of treatment.

And thus, the heat generation of the motor 20 is suppressed by restricting the reciprocation time T to be long, that is, limiting the reciprocation frequency f to be small. At this time, by suppressing the acceleration rate and the deceleration rate, T1cw ⁇ T2cw and T1ccw ⁇ T2ccw can be realized, and the number of reciprocations f can be reduced while maintaining the rotation angle during reversal.
- T1 T1cw + T1stop + T1ccw (Mode I)
- T2 T2cw + T2stop + T2ccw (Mode II)
- T1 ⁇ T2 T1cw ⁇ T2cw, T1stop ⁇ T2stop, T1ccw ⁇ T2ccw
- the control unit 11 possesses normal rotation times T1cw and T2cw, motor 20 stop times T1stop and T2stop, and reverse rotation times T1ccw and T2ccw as control parameters. Further, the control unit 11 obtains the degree of heat generation of the motor 20. This degree of heat generation can be obtained by various methods. As a more direct method, a temperature sensor including, for example, a thermistor can be provided near the motor 20 in the handpiece, and the measured temperature can be used as the degree of heat generation. When the measured temperature of the handpiece is less than or equal to the threshold th, the control unit 11 controls the motor 20 in mode I (T1). When the temperature of the handpiece exceeds the threshold th, the control unit 11 operates in mode II (T2).
- the physical quantity used to determine the degree of heat generation of the motor 20 is not limited to temperature.
- the degree of heat generation can be specified using the power supplied to the motor 20.
- electric power supplied to the motor 20 is detected over time, and the detected value is integrated to obtain an integrated value. If the integral value is less than or equal to the threshold value, the control unit 11 controls the motor 20 in mode I (T1). If the integral value exceeds the threshold value, the control unit 11 performs the motor in mode II (T2). 20 can be controlled.
- This integrated value is obtained by integrating electric power with time, and therefore can be regarded as a reference indicating heat generation of the motor 20 approximately.

Abstract
Description
T=Tcw+Tstop+Tccw…式2
Tcw:
Tccw:
Itw≦Ir・K …
モードX:L2~L3(根管の浅い部分)
モードY:L1~L2(モードXとモードZの中間)
モードZ:L0~L1(根尖近傍)
T=Tcw+Tstop+Tccw…式2
T1=T1cw+T1stop+T1ccw(モードI)
T2=T2cw+T2stop+T2ccw(モードII)
T1<T2,T1cw<T2cw,T1stop<T2stop,T1ccw<T2ccw
