Abstract

본 발명은 신규 유기금속 화합물에 관한 것으로서, 보다 자세하게는, 게르마늄 치환체의 도입에 의해 분자간 상호 작용이 억제되어 발광 특성이 개선된 발광성 유기금속 화합물 및 이를 이용한 유기 전자 소자, 그 중에서도 유기 발광 소자에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따르면, 상기 이리듐 유기금속 화합물 모체에 게르마늄 치환체를 도입함으로써 고체 상태에서의 분자간 상호 작용이 억제되어 용액 공정에서도 유용하게 사용될 수 있고, 유기 발광 소자의 발광층의 일부로 사용되는 경우에 그 발광 효율이 현저히 개선되므로 유기 발광 소자용 재료로 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
