Definitions
- the present invention relates to a network system including a hub device, a master device in the network system, and a method for controlling the network system.
- a network having a master device and a slave device can take various topologies such as a serial shape, a ring shape, a tree shape, or a star shape according to the cooperation between devices and the convenience of wiring.
- a serial topology all slave devices are included in a single transmission line starting from the master device. Assuming that the master device is upstream, the information signal flowing from the upstream side passes through the slave devices connected in series to the transmission path one after another, reaches the most downstream slave device, and then returns to the master device.
- the master device has two ports, that is, the information signal transmission side and the reception side, and the transmitted information signals pass through the slave devices one after another and then from the reception side port. Come back.
- a hub device is arranged as a network device at the branch point.
- the hub device has one port connected to the upstream side and a plurality of ports connected to the slave device on the downstream side.
- the hub device can also be regarded as a kind of slave device in charge of network path control.

- EtherCAT it is possible to combine serial connection by daisy chain and branch using a hub device, thereby supporting the various topologies described above.
- an information signal (frame) transmitted from a master device does not reach only a specific destination, but the same signal circulates through all slave devices.
- the control signal for each slave device is included in the information signal. Therefore, the slave device determines the portion of the signal targeted for itself while the information signal passes through the information signal. Read and rewrite the information signal contents as necessary. Therefore, since the information signal reaches the most downstream without staying at one place in the network, high-speed communication without data collision can be realized.
- the information signal in EtherCAT moves through the network in a so-called one-stroke path.
- Such characteristics do not change even in a topology including a branch point. That is, when the information signal sent from the master device reaches the hub device which is a branching point, the information signal is sent to the slave device connected to one of the ports of the hub device.
- the information signals are sequentially transferred in series, and after reaching the most downstream, are returned to the hub device. Subsequently, the data is transmitted to a slave device connected to another port of the hub device.
- a design support system is provided for facilitating design work when a user who does not have specialized knowledge or experience like SE performs system design or assembly of an actual machine.
- the design support system takes the form of a management device connected to the master device.
- the management device is a personal computer installed with a setting tool that is an application for creating setting information.
- Patent Document 1 describes a communication system in which a master device and a slave device are connected on a double conductor structure.
- the hub device can branch the transmission line by having a plurality of connection ports on the downstream side, and also functions as a repeater that extends the network length when the cable length is limited.
- the hub device can branch the transmission line by having a plurality of connection ports on the downstream side, and also functions as a repeater that extends the network length when the cable length is limited.
- normal Ethernet registered trademark
- the arrangement order of the devices in the network is not particularly limited, and any device connected to any port at the branch point may be a switching hub.
- the device sorts the frames. This is because each device has a unique physical address, such as a mac address, that is assigned regardless of its location in the network.
- the position of the device on the network based on the connection order is meaningful for information transmission between the master device and the slave device.
- the master device first identifies each slave device based on the position in the network.
- the information signal transmitted by the master device circulates through all slave devices.
- the communication setting start stage information indicating the number of the slave device through which the information signal transmitted from the master device passes is used for identification of the slave device. Communication performed by identifying the slave device by such a method is referred to as position address mode communication.
- the master device and each slave device can communicate with each other in the position address mode, information for setting the slave device is transmitted from the master device to the slave device.
- the master device sets information regarding which range of logical addresses in the information signal each slave should use when executing control. Communication using this logical address is called communication in the logical address mode.
- a unique address called alias is set in advance for each slave device, and the master device collects the alias of each slave device by communication in the position address mode, and the alias of each slave device is the node address of that slave device. May be set to communicate using a node address. Such communication is referred to as node address mode communication.
- the node address may be set prior to setting the logical address, and the logical address may be set by communication in the node address mode.
- a slave circuit (ASIC, FPGA, etc. functioning as a slave) built in an EtherCAT slave device generally has four ports, and one of them is a port connected to the upstream side. The number of ports that can be connected downstream is three.
- the order in which information signals go around each port is determined, so the order in which the information signals go around other slave devices connected to the port depends on the other slave devices. Depends on which port is connected to.
- the EtherCAT hub device has four or more downstream ports, it is necessary to use a plurality of slave circuits internally. Also in this case, since the order in which the information signals go around the four or more downstream ports is determined by the internal configuration of the hub device, the order in which the information signals go around the other slave devices connected to the port Depends on which port the device is connected to.
- the verification process is necessary to operate the network normally and as expected, but on the other hand, it can make the user troublesome and annoying. That is, the user is not necessarily familiar with the network standard itself or the internal configuration of the hub device.
- a hub device having a plurality of ports it is connected to the slave device without being aware of the cyclic order of the information signals corresponding to the ports, like a switching hub in general Ethernet (registered trademark). There is a possibility of inserting a cable for an arbitrary port.
- the present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and the object of the present invention is to provide a technique for preventing a user from being aware of a difference in port when connecting a slave device to a hub device when a network system is constructed. It is to provide.

- the hub device to which the slave device is connected if the hub device to which the slave device is connected is correct, it can be recognized that the connection is normal even if the connection destination port is different.
- the connecting user can work without being aware of which port of the hub device the slave device is connected to, and the usability in system construction can be improved.

- FIG. 10 is a flowchart illustrating processing according to the second embodiment.
- FIG. 7 is a diagram illustrating a configuration example of an industrial network.

- the slave device 300 includes a power supply unit, a motor unit, a counter unit, an image unit, a communication unit, an I / O unit, and the like.
- the master apparatus 200 may be connected to a management apparatus 600 for a user to perform operation settings of the master apparatus 200, display of the operation state of the industrial network 100, network system design, and the like.
- the management apparatus 600 is configured by a personal computer installed with a setting tool.
- the hub device 700 has one port 701 connected to the upstream side when the master device side is upstream, and a plurality of ports 702a to 702c connected to the downstream side. It can be said that the hub device is a kind of slave device.
- the industrial network 100 is a network that complies with the EtherCAT standard, and is installed in a factory or the like and used as an FA system.
- the master device 200 transmits an information signal including control data through a network according to programs and operations.
- the slave device 300 performs device operation based on the received information signal, and rewrite and return processing of the received information signal (processing for sending the information signal downstream).
- Production in a factory using the industrial network 100 is achieved by the master device controlling the content and timing of the operation so that the slave device as a whole works together to share the work.

- the n-th slave circuit for example, the second slave circuit 710B in FIG. 3
- FFFF hexadecimal number
- Each slave circuit examines the value of the position address area of the information signal. If the value is 0, the slave circuit determines that the information signal is addressed to itself and reads the data from the information signal and outputs the data to the information signal. Data is written, the value in the position address area is updated to a value obtained by adding 1 to the original value, and the information signal is transferred to the next slave circuit. If the value of the information signal position address area is other than 0, each slave circuit updates the value of the position address area to a value obtained by adding 1 to the original value, and transfers the information signal to the next slave circuit.
- the first slave circuit is the position address 0
- the second slave circuit is the position address FFFF (hexadecimal number)
- the third slave circuit is the position address FFFE (hexadecimal number).
- the node address is an address assigned to each slave circuit regardless of the connection order of the slave circuits as viewed from the master device 200.
- Each slave circuit has an address value called alias in the internal nonvolatile memory.
- the alias value can be set by the user.
- the master device 200 reads the alias value of each slave circuit, and in principle sets the same value as the alias value of the slave circuit as the node address of the slave circuit in the slave circuit. Communication for reading the alias value and setting the node address is performed using the position address. However, when there is an alias value overlap in a network in which one information signal circulates, the master device 200 adjusts the node address value to a value different from the alias value so that the node address does not overlap. .
- the node address is not changed even if the connection order of the slave circuit is changed. Even if the device name corresponding to the model can be acquired by communication in the position address mode, but the identification information corresponding to the serial number difference of the same model cannot be acquired, individual identification between the same model is possible by the node address It is. Therefore, the node address is used for event-type message communication in which a specific information signal is transmitted to a specific slave circuit, such as communication related to monitoring and management of a slave device.
- the logical address is an address indicating a position in the logical address space formed in one information signal (serial communication frame).
- a control operation for example, driving of a servo motor
- transmission of output data from the master device 200 to each slave circuit and transmission of input data from each slave circuit to the master device 200 are performed in a cycle. Done to click.
- This cyclic communication for control is performed using a logical address space in the information signal. That is, the position in the information signal of each data to be transmitted / received by the control cyclic communication is specified by the logical address.
- Each slave circuit reads the output data from the logical address part for the output data addressed to itself in the information signal while the information signal passes through itself, and Input data is written in the portion of the logical address.
- output data can be transmitted from the master device 200 to each slave circuit and input data from each slave circuit to the master device 200 can be transmitted.
- Communication for the master device 200 to set a logical address used by each slave circuit for each slave circuit is performed using a node address or a position address.
- FIG. 2A is a diagram illustrating a state in which the hub device is viewed from the outside.
- the hub device 700 has one IN port and six OUT ports (OUT1 to OUT6).
- the user designates up to the number of the OUT port of the hub device for designing. Then, in accordance with the information set by the design support system, the cable from the master device side is inserted into the IN port, and the cable to the slave device is inserted into the OUT port.
- FIG. 2B schematically shows the internal configuration of the hub device.
- the hub device 700 internally has three slave circuits 710A and 710B in order to cope with the restriction that one slave circuit has only four ports (one of which is connected to the upstream side).
- Port 0 of each slave circuit is an upstream port.
- the signal input to port0 of each slave circuit is output from port3.
- the signal input to port3 is output from port1.
- the signal input from port1 is output from port2.
- the signal input to port2 is output from port0.
- the slave circuit reads information from the signal and writes information to the signal in the path from port 0 to port 3. If the value of the position address area of the information signal is 0, the process that the information signal is addressed to itself and the increment update process of the value of the position address area are also performed on the path from port0 to port3. . In other paths, the information signal is transferred without performing these processes.
- Each slave circuit when no other slave circuit is connected to any port, does not output a signal from that port and transfers the signal to the next port. For example, if no other slave circuit (slave device) is connected to port 3, the signal input to port 0 is processed in the slave circuit and then transferred to port 1. On the other hand, when another slave circuit (slave device) is connected to port 3, the signal input to port 0 is processed in the slave and then transferred to the other slave. Thereafter, when a signal is input to port 3 from the other slave circuit (slave device), the signal is transferred to port 1.
- the upstream port of the slave circuit 710A is connected to the downstream port of the master device or another slave device.
- the upstream port of the slave circuit 710A is the IN port of the entire hub device.
- Slave circuits 710B and 710C are connected in series to slave circuit 710A.
- Each of the slave circuits 710A to 710C has two downstream ports each used as an OUT port of the hub device 700.
- the relationship between the OUT port number and the order of information signal transfer will be described. Here, it is assumed that the route is designed in the order of OUT1 to OUT6.
- the slave device 300a is connected to OUT1, that is, port 3 of the slave circuit 710A.

- an information signal is transmitted from the master device 200 (circle numeral 1).
- the slave circuit 710A transfers the information signal to the slave device 300a (circle numeral 2).
- the information signal returned through the processing by the slave device 300a is transferred to the slave device 300b via the slave circuits 710B and 710C (circle numeral 3). In this figure, since there is no other branch destination, the information signal is sent back to the master device.
- FIG. 3 shows a state in which a network connection different from the setting information is performed.
- the slave device 300a is connected to OUT5, that is, port 3 of the slave circuit 710C.
- the slave device 300b is connected to OUT4, that is, port1 of the slave circuit 710B.
- the information signal (circled number 1) transmitted from the master device 200 is first transferred to the slave device 300b from the slave circuit 710B via the slave circuit 710A (circled number 2). Thereafter, the information signal returned to the slave circuit 710B reaches the slave device 300a via the slave circuit 710C (circle numeral 3).
- the slave connection order (information signal circulation order) in communication using the position address is as follows. (1) slave circuit 710A, (2) slave device 300a (assuming there is one internal slave circuit), (3) slave circuit 710B (via slave circuit 710A), (4) slave circuit 710C, (5) Slave device 300b (assuming there is one internal slave circuit).

- connection order indicated by the setting information possessed by the master device 200 is the order shown in FIG. 3A, and communication is performed using the position address assuming that the actual connection order is also the same. If the actual connection order is the order shown in FIG. 3B, an error occurs in the communication partner, and correct communication cannot be performed.
- FIG. 4 is a flowchart showing a flow from initial setting of the system, connection and wiring of devices, and startup.
- step S401 the user defines the network configuration using the setting tool.
- the setting tool is provided as an application that runs on the OS of a personal computer, and the user can create network setting information by assembling parts corresponding to each device while checking the topology on the GUI.

- the master device 200 is turned on in step S402, and is online connected to the network in step S403.
- step S404 the XML file in which the setting information (configuration information) is described is downloaded to the master device 200 activated in this way. That is, the setting information stored in the personal computer is transferred to the master device 200 by the setting tool.
- the master device 200 stores the topology according to the setting information created by the user.
- step S405 installation and wiring are performed in step S405, and the power is turned on in step S406.

(Including actual configuration information before replacement of the slave device regarded as updated setting information).
- the network can be set up according to the setting by the matching process in the fixed topology, the user needs to be aware of the number of the OUT port of the hub device at the time of wiring, and the port connecting the slave device is wrong. Therefore, it is necessary to rework the wiring connection. That is, every time an error in wiring connection is detected, the processing from steps S405 to S410 in the flowchart is repeated.
- Example 1 In this embodiment, a description will be given of a method for realizing a network system that eliminates the effort required of the user when there is an error in the port of the hub device connecting the slave device in the fixed topology by the function of the master device. .

- the master device sets a node address or the like for the slave device through communication in such a position address mode.
- step S802 If it is determined in step S802 that the hub device to which the slave device is connected is the same between the actual configuration information and the setting information, the connected port to which the slave device is connected is set to the actual configuration information. You may make it progress to step S803, without determining whether it differs between information, ie, without determining whether the connecting point port of a slave apparatus is wrong. In this case, even if the port to which the slave device is connected is the same between the actual configuration information and the setting information, the address is associated with the slave device in step S803. Communication can be performed normally.
- connection port difference When the connection port difference is allowed in the free topology, the user is notified of the allowed connection and the actual connection relationship, or the setting information updated according to the actual connection relationship is transferred to the management device 600. You may make it do. Then, since the user can obtain connection information that matches the actual connection relationship up to the port level, he / she feels confused by discovering that the setting information is different from the actual connection relationship during maintenance work. Can be prevented.
- the determination means performs determination at a collation level that allows free topology, thereby preventing the user from being aware of the difference in the hub device port at the initial setting and wiring connection stages. .
- an industrial network system such as EtherCAT.
- Example 2 The above-mentioned correspondence by the free topology is effective in facilitating the network configuration. However, if the free topology is maintained even after the initial setting and start-up processing are completed and the actual system operation is started, there is a possibility that a problem may occur when the slave device is replaced due to failure handling or version upgrade. In this embodiment, a method for preventing such a problem will be described.
- the initial setting is completed according to the processing flow of FIG. 8, and the actual operation is started with the topology in which the user has connected the wires.
- the slave device 300a connected to the OUT5 port of the hub device has failed and needs to be replaced.
- the user may connect the replaced slave device to a port different from OUT5 without being aware of the number of the OUT port of the hub device.
- the slave device after replacement takes over the settings of the slave device before replacement, including the logical address settings, the destination itself in communication in the logical address mode for control execution itself There is no.
- a change in the cyclic order of the information signals causes a subtle change in the reception timing in the slave device, which may affect the control.
- in terms of maintenance work there is no possibility of confusion if the wiring of the system once started is not changed.
- FIG. 9 shows the flow of such processing.
- step S901 the user removes the failed device or the device to be upgraded from the hub device and wires a new device.
- the newly connected slave device is turned on.
- step S903 the master device reads the setting information already stored in the storage means and interprets the topology.
- This setting information is updated so as to match the actual configuration information when the initial setting is performed in the free topology.
- This update may be performed by overwriting the initial setting information with the actual configuration information after the initial setting, or the actual configuration information before replacing the slave device is read and handled as updated setting information.
- You may go by. Any method may be used as a means for the master device to detect that the slave device has been removed and newly connected. For example, when a user notifies by a command or an input from a GUI, the master device can be provided with an accepting unit. As the receiving means, an existing interface device may be used, or a dedicated component such as a switch may be provided.
- This accepting means may be an accepting means for switching between an explicit fixed topology and a free topology. Alternatively, it may be determined that the slave device has been replaced based on the result of the master device periodically communicating with the devices in the network.
- step S904 actual configuration information is generated by the actual configuration information generation unit based on the information acquired by the information collection unit.
- step S905 the setting information and the actual configuration information are collated.
- This embodiment is characterized in that when the determination unit makes a determination in step S906, it is considered to which port of the hub device is connected. Therefore, after the initial setting is performed in the free topology and the actual operation is started, the collation level when the determination unit makes the determination is raised to the same level as the fixed topology.
- the switching of the determination logic may be performed by determining whether the master apparatus is in a setting state or in operation, or an interface that enables switching by the user may be prepared.
- the operation of the apparatus is stopped and the user is prompted to confirm (step S907).
- the verification level in actual operation is set to the fixed topology level as in this embodiment
- the determination is made. Since it is determined that there is a connection abnormality by means of the means verification process, the user corrects the connection destination of the slave device to the same port as the port before the replacement, and can realize stable operation.
- the determination means allows free topology in the initial setting, and if the determination logic is switched so that the determination is performed according to the fixed topology after entering the actual operation, the usability improvement in the initial setting and the stable operation in the actual operation are 2 It is possible to balance two matters.
- the slave device after replacement does not take over the setting contents such as the node address and logical address set in the slave device before replacement, and the initial communication with the slave device after replacement is returned to the position address mode.
- the operation at the time of detachment and rejoining of the slave device in the free topology and the fixed topology is examined.
- the determination unit in the fixed topology detects whether there is a connection abnormality in consideration of which port of the hub device the slave device is connected to. In other words, in the fixed topology, it is assumed that the slave device after re-joining connected to the same port as the hub device to which the slave device before leaving was replaced with the slave device before leaving can do.
- the actual topology is different from the topology in the setting information.
- a user may set a number called an alias for a slave device, and a master device may set a node address for the slave device based on the alias and use it for communication. In such a standard, handling when the user re-joins the network without setting an alias for the slave device becomes a problem.
- a slave device can be identified and a node address can be set based on a position on the network such as a port number as described above.
- a node address can be set based on a position on the network such as a port number as described above.
- an alias is not set in the free topology, there is a possibility that the slave device cannot be identified from the master device if rejoining is performed by connecting to a port different from the port connected before leaving.
- the operation in the fixed topology was started as the initial setting of the network system was completed and the actual operation was started. May be performed.
- the slave is removed by the user, so it is preferable to operate in a fixed topology in accordance with the withdrawal designation.
- the topology may be confirmed according to the leave designation, and if the topology is free, the user may be prompted to move.
- the master device may include a receiving unit.
- the network system can be operated by the fixed topology in consideration of the replacement of the slave device in actual operation. It becomes easy.

- the hub device to which the slave device is connected if the hub device to which the slave device is connected is correct, it can be recognized that the slave device is correctly connected even if the connection destination port is different.
- the connecting user can work without being aware of which port of the hub device the slave device is connected to, and the usability in system construction can be improved.
- the determination means For the slave device connected to the downstream port of the hub device, the determination means, If the hub device to which the slave device is connected is the same between the actual configuration information and the setting information, even if the position of the port to which the slave device is connected is different, A first mode for determining that there is no error in the connection destination; The second device determines that there is no error in the connection destination of the slave device only when the position of the hub device and the port to which the slave device is connected is the same between the actual configuration information and the setting information.
