Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for removing lint from the surface of textiles, comprising a housing, a shaving head, a cutting device inside the housing, and a collection container for the separated lint which can be removed from the housing.
  • Devices of the aforementioned type are used to remove lint or lint from a textile surface, for example, a garment. Fibers which have become detached from yarns of a fabric may stick to and form nodules (also called pilling) on the surface of a fabric and, because of their unsightly appearance, should be removed by means of a device of the type according to the invention.
  • Such a device is a type of fabric shaver with which the user travels over the surface of the fabric, which device then cuts off the lint and typically draws it into the housing of the device.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide a device for removing lint from the surface of textiles of the aforementioned type, which has a lighting device adapted to the machining process.
  • the solution to this problem provides a device for the removal of lint from the surface of textiles of the type mentioned above with the characterizing features of the main claim.
  • the device has at least one illumination device for illuminating the surface of the textile which has been machined with the device.
  • the user has a good view of the textile surface to be cleaned in order to better recognize the lint to be removed.
  • At least one illumination device is arranged in a lateral region of the housing at a somewhat axial distance from the shaving head, which emits light onto an area of the textile surface lying next to the shaving head.
  • this illumination device comprises at least one light-emitting diode (LED) as a light source, which radiates its light directed through an opening in the side of the housing at an angle to the surface to be machined.
  • the light source has a light emission characteristic with at least a proportion of short-wave light, in particular violet or UV light, since this results in the particular advantage that the lint be made particularly visible by light of these wavelengths.
  • the luminous means is preferably designed such that it emits a light cone at an acute angle in the direction of the processing surface from the outlet opening in the housing, which illuminates a region of this processing surface laterally next to the shaving head and in the machining direction in front of it. It is expedient to provide more than one illumination device, wherein a plurality of illumination devices can be arranged, for example, annularly distributed over the circumference at a distance from one another or else as a continuous light ring, preferably in such a way that the largest possible area around the shaving head is illuminated.
  • a further object of the present invention is to provide a device of the type mentioned above, which allows an adjustment in order to adapt to the size of the lint or fluff to be removed or a change in the depth of cut of the device.
  • an attachment ring according to the invention is preferably provided, the on the shaving head is placed and adjustable, such that the axial distance between the axially foremost end of the housing head and the shear plane is variable.
  • the attachment ring is variable by twisting or pulling in its relative axial position relative to the cutting plane of the cutting device.
  • attachment ring by means of a thread which can be fastened to the shaving head and thereby changing the extent to which it projects relative to the shaving head and the shearing plane during rotation of the attachment ring so that lintes of different lengths are cut or the head of the device can be pressed at different depths into the tissue during the cutting process.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide a device for removing lint from the surface of textiles of the type mentioned, which is shaped to be more ergonomic in the user's hand, thereby facilitating handling of the device.
  • the housing is better adapted to the shape of the user's hand and has a curved basic shape in the inventive device which, starting from the shaving head, extends in an arc to an end remote from the shaving head and preferably tapers towards this end in diameter, in cross section or in the transverse dimension.
  • the user can therefore comfortably grasp and enclose the housing of such a device, like a pistol with only one hand, so that the shaving head faces the textile surface to be processed.
  • the housing shape configured as described above it is also advantageous for the user to be able to place the thumb of the operating hand on the top side of the housing and hold it in such a way that good guidance of the device results when the shaving head is aligned with the textile surface to be treated.
  • the device has at the end facing away from the shaving head of the housing preferably removable after releasing a locking mechanism in the axial direction deductible closure member which closes a battery compartment inside the housing, the closure member in the inserted closed position preferably is structurally elegant integrated into the overall shape of the overall housing, in particular this closure part itself forms the end of the housing facing away from the shaving head.
  • a brush-type cleaning device for cleaning the shaving head can be accommodated in a closable compartment in the interior of the housing of the device.
  • This lockable compartment can be, for example, the collection container of the device for the lint.
  • Cleaning brushes and the like for the cleaning of the shear area are relatively small items, so far there is a risk that they will be lost. Most often, the user has hitherto needed the packaging container of the device to house the cleaning device.
  • the solution according to the invention has the advantage that the cleaning device is now accommodated captive in the device itself and is available after opening the compartment on the device.
