差動装置は、ドライブギヤと噛み合うリングギヤと、リングギヤと一体に回転するデフケースと、同軸上に左右に配置されるアクスルシャフトと、左側のアクスルシャフトと一体に回転するサイドギヤ及び右側のアクスルシャフトと一体に回転するサイドギヤと、各サイドギヤと噛み合うピニオンギヤと、デフケースにピニオンギヤを自転可能に支持するスパイダシャフトと、ドライブギヤを回転自在に支持するキャリアケースと、を備え、キャリアケースが各サイドギヤを回転自在に支持し、左側のアクスルシャフト又は右側のアクスルシャフトがデフケースのスパイダシャフトを回転自在に支持する。
Description
本発明は、差動装置に関する。
JP2010-121641A及びJP1996-497558Aは、差動装置を開示している。差動装置は、例えば図3に示すように構成される。ドライブギヤ50はプロペラシャフトにより駆動される。ドライブギヤ50は、キャリアケース51にベアリングを介して回転自在に支持される。パイロットベアリング52はドライブギヤ50の先端部を支持する。リングギヤ53はドライブギヤ50と噛み合う。
リングギヤ53はデフケース55に取り付けられる。デフケース55は、中央部が袋状に形成され、その内側に後述のピニオンギヤ56およびサイドギヤ57a、57bを収装する。デフケース55は、キャリアケース51にベアリング58a、58bを介して回転自在に支持される。
左側のサイドギヤ57aは、左側のアクスルシャフトと一体に回転する。右側のサイドギヤ57bは、右側のアクスルシャフトと一体に回転する。ピニオンギヤ56は、各サイドギヤ57a、57bに噛み合い、デフケース55にスパイダシャフト59を介して取り付けられる。スパイダシャフト59は、4つの軸部を十字状に結ぶようにして構成される。スパイダシャフト59の各軸部は、それぞれピニオンギヤ56を自転可能に支持する。
ドライブギヤ50の回転はリングギヤ53を介してデフケース55に伝えられ、デフケース55の回転に伴ってピニオンギヤ56が公転する。ピニオンギヤ56が公転すると、各サイドギヤ57a、57bと共に左右のアクスルシャフトが回転する。左右のアクスルシャフトの回転抵抗(負荷)に差が生じると、各ピニオン56が回転抵抗に応じて自転する。これにより、低負荷側のアクスルシャフトの回転速度が上昇し、高負荷側のアクスルシャフトの回転速度が低下する。
上記した差動装置では、サイドギヤ57a、57bやピニオンギヤ56がデフケース55の袋状部(中央部)の内側に収装されるので、潤滑油(これは例えば、ドライブギヤによって掻き上げられる)の供給が不足する可能性がある。これにより、各摺動部の潤滑性能を確保することが難しく、各摺動部の焼付きを生じる可能性がある。
この発明の目的は、差動装置の潤滑性能を向上させることである。
本発明のある態様によれば、差動装置であって、ドライブギヤと噛み合うリングギヤと、リングギヤと一体に回転するデフケースと、同軸上に左右に配置されるアクスルシャフトと、左側のアクスルシャフトと一体に回転するサイドギヤ及び右側のアクスルシャフトと一体に回転するサイドギヤと、各サイドギヤと噛み合うピニオンギヤと、デフケースにピニオンギヤを自転可能に支持するスパイダシャフトと、ドライブギヤを回転自在に支持するキャリアケースと、を備え、キャリアケースが各サイドギヤを回転自在に支持し、左側のアクスルシャフト又は右側のアクスルシャフトがデフケースのスパイダシャフトを回転自在に支持する差動装置が提供される。
本発明の実施形態及び本発明の利点については、添付された図面を参照しながら以下に詳細に説明する。
図1及び図2において、ドライブギヤ10はプロペラシャフトにより駆動される。ドライブギヤ10は、キャリアケース11にベアリング12a、12bを介して回転自在に支持される。ベアリング12aは、ドライブギヤ10のシャフト(プロペラシャフトに連結するドライブシャフト)を支持する。パイロットベアリング12bはドライブギヤ10の先端部を支持する。リングギヤ13はドライブギヤ10と噛み合う。終減速比は、ドライブギヤ10の歯数とリングギヤ13の歯数とに基づいて設定される。
リングギヤ13はデフケース15に取り付けられる。デフケース15にスパイダシャフト16が設けられる。スパイダシャフト16は、4つの軸部を十字状に結ぶようにして構成される。スパイダシャフト16は、各軸部のそれぞれにピニオンギヤ17を自転可能に支持する。
サイドギヤ18a、18bは、ピニオンギヤ17と噛み合い、ピニオンギヤ17の左右に同軸上に配置される。サイドギヤ18a、18bは、それぞれベアリング19a、19bを介してキャリアケース11に回転自在に支持される。左側のサイドギヤ18aは、左側のアクスルシャフト20aと一体に回転する。右側のサイドギヤ18bは、右側のアクスルシャフト20bと一体に回転する。
各サイドギヤ18a、18bは、アクスルシャフト20a、20bのスプライン溝と係合するスプライン溝を持つスプライン穴21a、21bを有する。サイドギヤ18a、18bはさらに、スプライン穴21a、21bと同軸上に開口する貫通孔22a、22bを有する。一方のアクスルシャフト20aは、同軸上にアクスルシャフト20bへ向けて延設される軸部24(延長軸)を有する。延長軸24は、スパイダシャフト16を回転自在に支持し、右側のアクスルシャフト20bと一体に回転するサイドギヤ18bを回転自在に支持する。
サイドギヤ18a、18bとアクスルシャフト20a、20bとの間は、軸回りを一体に回転可能かつ互いに軸方向へ変位可能にスプライン嵌合される。スパイダシャフト16およびサイドギヤ18a、18bは、これらを回転自在に支持する延長軸24上を軸方向へ変位可能である。
サイドギヤ18a、18bの外周には、ベアリング19a、19bのインナレースを係止する段差30が形成される。ベアリング19a、19bのアウタレースは、キャリアケース11に対して軸方向へ変位可能に組み付けられる。アジャストナット31a、31bは、ディファレンシャルギヤの両側からベアリング19a、19bのアウタレースを締め付けることにより、ベアリング19a、19bおよびサイドギヤ18a、18bを所定の位置に固定することができる。
図2に示すように、ドライブギヤ10の回転はリングギヤ13を介してデフケース15に伝えられ、デフケース15の回転に伴ってピニオンギヤ17が公転する。ピニオンギヤ17が公転すると、各サイドギヤ18a、18bと共に左右のアクスルシャフト20a、20bが回転する。左右のアクスルシャフト20a、20bの回転抵抗(負荷)に差が生じると、各ピニオンギヤ17が自転する。これにより、低負荷側のアクスルシャフトの回転速度が上昇し、高負荷側のアクスルシャフトの回転速度が低下する。図2の矢印は、ピニオンギヤ17の公転に伴う回転力の伝達経路を示す。
各サイドギヤ18a、18bは、デフケース15に組み込まれるのではなく、キャリアケース11に支持されるので、デフケース15は、各サイドギヤ18a、18bを回転自在に支持する構造を省略することができる。
デフケース15は、スパイダシャフト16を支持する中央部15aと、リングギヤ13の取付部を形成する周縁部15bと、から構成され、中央部15aの両側が大きく開放されるように形成される。つまり、従来のデフケース55(図3参照)と較べると、両側のサイドギヤ57a、57bを覆って各サイドギヤ57a、57bを回転自在に支持し、キャリアケース51にベアリング58a、58bを介して支持される部分が省略される。
よって、サイドギヤ18a、18b及びピニオンギヤ17がデフケース15から露出され、ドライブギヤ10によって掻き上げられる潤滑油と接しやすくなるので、ディファレンシャル(差動装置)の潤滑性能を向上させることができる。さらに、デフケース15をより小型化・軽量化することができる。
デフケース15は、キャリアケース11に支持されない構造となるが、アクスルシャフト20aの延長軸24にスパイダシャフト16を介して回転自在に支持されるので、必要な支持性能は確保される。さらに、延長軸24により、左側のサイドギヤ18aに加えて、右側のサイドギヤ18bも支持するので、ディファレンシャルギヤ全体の支持性能を十分に向上させることができる。
本実施形態では、デフケース15およびサイドギヤ18a、18bが軸方向へ変位可能であるので、終減速比の変更に伴ってマウンティングディスタンスMを調整する際に、デフケース15を交換することなく簡単に対応することができる。具体的には、アジャストナット31a、31bを緩め、デフケース15およびサイドギヤ18a、18bを軸方向へ変位させることにより、終減速比の変更に伴うマウンティングディスタンスMの調整を行うことができる。
以上、本発明の実施形態について説明したが、上記実施形態は本発明の適用例の一部を示したに過ぎず、本発明の技術的範囲を上記実施形態の具体的構成に限定する趣旨ではない。
例えば、延長軸24は、反対側のアクスルシャフト20bに係合するサイドギヤ18bを回転自由に支持しているが、この部分を省略してもよい。

この発明は、車両用の差動装置に限らず、各種機械の差動装置へ適用することができる。
Claims (3)
- 差動装置であって、
ドライブギヤと噛み合うリングギヤと、
前記リングギヤと一体に回転するデフケースと、
同軸上に左右に配置されるアクスルシャフトと、
左側の前記アクスルシャフトと一体に回転するサイドギヤ及び右側の前記アクスルシャフトと一体に回転するサイドギヤと、
前記各サイドギヤと噛み合うピニオンギヤと、
前記デフケースに前記ピニオンギヤを自転可能に支持するスパイダシャフトと、
前記ドライブギヤを回転自在に支持するキャリアケースと、
を備え、
前記キャリアケースが前記各サイドギヤを回転自在に支持し、前記左側のアクスルシャフト又は前記右側のアクスルシャフトが前記デフケースの前記スパイダシャフトを回転自在に支持する差動装置。 - 請求項1に記載の差動装置であって、
前記デフケースの前記スパイダシャフトを回転自在に支持する前記左側のアクスルシャフト又は前記右側のアクスルシャフトは、反対側の前記アクスルシャフトへ向けて同軸上に延設される延長軸を備え、
前記延長軸は、前記スパイダシャフトを回転自在に支持し、前記反対側のアクスルシャフトと一体に回転するサイドギヤを回転自在に支持する差動装置。 - 請求項2に記載の差動装置であって、
前記左側のアクスルシャフトと前記左側のサイドギヤとの間及び前記右側のアクスルシャフトと前記右側のサイドギヤとの間は、軸回りを一体に回転可能かつ軸方向へ変位可能に係合され、
前記スパイダシャフト及び前記各サイドギヤと前記延長軸との間は、軸方向へ変位可能に設定され、
前記各サイドギヤと前記キャリアケースとの間は、軸方向へ変位可能に構成される差動装置。
