When all the FA devices are arranged, information indicating that all the FA devices are arranged (device arrangement confirmation information) is input to the input device 51 by the designer. This device arrangement confirmation information is input to the system configuration diagram creation processing unit 63 via the input processing unit 60. The system configuration diagram creation processing unit 63 determines whether or not all the unit component diagrams are arranged based on whether or not the device arrangement confirmation information is input.
- step S10 When all the unit part diagrams are not arranged (step S10, No), it is determined whether or not the FA device to be arranged on the system configuration diagram display unit 73 is an FA device supported by the system design device 50A. (Step S20).

- step S50 After the integrated general-purpose unit is dragged and dropped from the unit component display unit 74 to the system configuration diagram display unit 73 (step S50), all FA devices in the FA system to be designed are displayed on the system configuration diagram display unit 73. - the general-purpose unit created in the system configuration diagram display unit 73 may be one integrated general-purpose unit in order to represent the five FA devices.
- the system design of the FA system is carried out by each device manufacturer, but if the FA equipment (unit) outside the scope of design is not placed correctly, the network station number assigned to the FA equipment cannot be checked. In the present embodiment, it is not necessary to know details of FA devices outside the design range by replacing a plurality of FA devices with one integrated general-purpose unit. For this reason, the trouble of creating a system configuration diagram can be saved.
- the system configuration is configured by using these FA devices as one integrated general-purpose unit. This is shown on the diagram. This eliminates the need for the designer to create as many general-purpose units in the system configuration diagram as the number of FA devices outside the design charge range and the number of devices not supported by the system design apparatus 50A. Specifically, the station number for each of the barcode readers 6r and 7r and the PLCs 8r to 10r is input to the station number input field 19. After the station number is input, the OK button 20 is pressed by the designer, and the station number input process is completed.
- the calculation unit 62B performs a list of station numbers and a range check based on the information set by the system configuration diagram creation processing unit 63. Further, the calculation unit 62B reflects the information set by the system configuration diagram creation processing unit 63 in each project.

- link file input field 25 a link file is input by the designer. Specifically, the path where the link file of the integrated general-purpose unit 12s is stored is input to the link file input field 25 (step S220).
- the OK button 26 on the link file setting screen 24 is pressed by the designer (step S230). As a result, the link file input process ends.
- the link file setting processing unit 85 determines whether or not the link file input in the link file input field 25 is a correct link file (step S240). Specifically, the link file setting processing unit 85 determines whether a link file exists in the path input in the link file input field 25. In addition, the link file setting processing unit 85 determines whether or not a character defined by the system design device 50B as a prohibited character is included in the path input in the link file input field 25.
- the link file setting processing unit 85 determines that an invalid path is input in the link file input field 25 (No in step S240)
- the link file setting processing unit 85 notifies the designer of the content of the error.
- the link file setting processing unit 85 outputs to the display processing unit 61 an error screen (dialog) indicating that an illegal path has been input.
- an error screen indicating that an illegal path has been input is displayed on the system configuration diagram display unit 73 or the link file setting unit 97 (step S250).

- the system design device 50B creates a system configuration diagram 11s of the FA system 11r.
- the link file setting screen 24 is displayed on the link file setting unit 97.
- the link file set in the integrated general-purpose unit 12s is stored in the link file storage unit 88.
- the link file set in the integrated general-purpose unit 12s is executed, for example, by double-clicking the integrated general-purpose unit 12s on the system configuration diagram 11s.
- a manual file is activated as a link file.
- the link file execution unit 86 reads a manual file from the link file storage unit 88 and sends it to the display processing unit 61.
- the contents of the manual file are displayed on the system configuration diagram display unit 73 and the like.
- parameter setting processing for a single integrated general-purpose unit is performed for parameter setting for an FA system outside the design charge range and a plurality of FA devices not supported by the system design apparatus 50B.
- it is possible to perform all at once. This eliminates the need for the designer to set parameters for the number of FA devices outside the design charge range and the number of FA devices not supported by the system design apparatus 50B.
- a link file can be set for the integrated general-purpose unit
- the set link file can be executed by an external application simply by double-clicking the integrated general-purpose unit on the FA system configuration diagram. Therefore, the burden of system design processing by the designer can be reduced. Also, it is possible to easily check the duplication of parameters such as station numbers.
- the system design apparatus according to the present invention is suitable for designing an FA system composed of FA devices.
