Definitions
- the present invention relates to an apparatus that can be operated by a user using a plurality of remote controllers.
- Some conventional digital home appliances include multiple remote controls. For example, there is known a device that provides a dedicated remote controller with a reduced number of buttons, in addition to a normal remote controller provided with buttons that can operate the device as a whole. When such a dedicated remote control is used, since the number of buttons is small, the user can select a desired function without hesitation and operate the device.
- the manufacturer of the device presets the application assigned to each button to be activated when a specific button on the dedicated remote control is pressed. For example, when a recording list button is pressed, a recording list application for displaying a list of recorded programs is started. When the recording list application is started from a normal remote controller, the user can use all functions. On the other hand, when the recording list application is activated from the dedicated remote controller, the user can use only functions that can be operated only with buttons existing on the remote controller. The other functions are the same. For example, if the 30-second skip button does not exist on the dedicated remote controller, the user cannot use the 30-second skip function during program playback. - the recording list of programs displayed by the recording list application for the simple remote control also includes a remaining amount display 702 indicating how long the program can be recorded on the HDD.
- this display 702 is different from the display 502 (FIG. 7) of the display contents when the full remote control is used. Specifically, the display 502 (FIG. 7) when the full remote control is used is shown with only the remaining time, but the display 702 when using the simple remote control is shown with a graph in addition to the remaining time.
- the numerical value of the remaining time included in the display 702 when using the simple remote controller is calculated in consideration of the time of the currently reserved program in addition to the time recorded so far. A specific calculation method will be described later.
- a display 702 b of a recordable time and a reserved program time display 702 b are superimposed on a recordable time display 702 a in a state where no recording is performed. According to this graph, it is possible to know how much recording capacity is scheduled to be used by recording and reserved programs up to now, and to grasp how much time can be recorded by glanceping at it. It becomes possible.
- the reason why the display 502 when using the full remote control is different from the display 702 when using the simple remote control is that the simple remote control user uses the simple remote control for the purpose of using only the basic functions of the recorder 101 with a simple operation. In many cases, it is considered preferable to be able to intuitively grasp the recordable time in consideration of the reserved program.
- the value to be displayed is calculated by the following method.
- Remaining capacity “Total capacity of HDD (time conversion value)” -Total capacity of recorded programs in which the value of the recording state 403 in the program additional information 401 is “complete” or “recording” (time conversion value) -Total capacity of recorded programs whose value of the recording status 403 in the program additional information 401 is “reserved” (time conversion value)
- the area of the program that has been recorded, the area that is used by the program that is being recorded, and the area that is used by the program that is being reserved are used areas, and the other areas are unused areas. Yes.
- FIG. 10 is a flowchart showing a processing procedure of the recorder 101.
- step S1 the remote control receiving unit 203 receives a remote control code.
- step S2 the application management unit 205 refers to the remote control code table 301 and determines whether the remote control code is transmitted from the full remote control 103 or the simple remote control 104. If it is determined that the remote control code has been transmitted from the full remote control 103, the process proceeds to step S4. Otherwise, the process proceeds to step S5 assuming that the remote control code is transmitted from the simple remote control 104.
- step S4 the program execution unit 207 executes an application for a full remote control, and generates image data indicating a list of all recorded contents.
- step S5 the program execution unit 207 executes an application for a simple remote controller, and generates image data indicating a list of recorded contents using the simple remote controller 104.
- step S6 the AV input / output unit 208 outputs the generated image data to the display device 102 via the HDMI output unit 211. As a result, different images are displayed depending on the type of remote control.
- 11 and 12 show display examples according to the present embodiment.
- a display example when the full remote controller 103 is used will be described first, and then a display example when the simple remote controller 104 is used will be described.
- the reservation list application for full remote control is an application that displays a list of reserved programs.
- This application acquires program additional information 401 recorded in the program information recording unit 204, and extracts only program information whose values of the recording state 403 are “reserved” and “recording”. As a result, this application creates screen data for displaying a list of all reserved programs. The created screen data is output to the display device 102 by the AV input / output unit 208.
- FIG. 11 shows a list of programs reserved for recording, which are displayed as a result of executing the reservation list application for full remote control.
- the display varies depending on whether the value of the remote control flag is “full remote control” or “simple remote control”. For example, an icon for distinguishing from other programs is added to a reservation in which the value of the remote control flag is “simple remote control”, that is, a recording reservation displayed using the simple remote control. In the example of FIG. 11, an icon 801 is displayed when the value of the flag is a value by a simple remote controller.
- the application management unit 205 reads the reservation list application for the simple remote controller from the program storage unit 206, and the program execution unit 207 executes the program to execute an operation related to the programmed “reservation list” function. As a result, the list shown in FIG. 12 is displayed.
- the reservation list application for the simple remote control is an application that displays a list of reserved programs.
- the simple remote controller reservation list application acquires the program additional information 401 recorded in the program information recording unit 204, the recording state 403 values are “reserving” and “recording”, and the remote control flag value is “simple”. Only the program information that is "remote control" is extracted. As a result, screen data for displaying only a list of programs reserved by the simple remote controller is created. That is, in FIG. 11, only the reservations for which the icons 801 are displayed are displayed as a list. The created screen data is output to the display device 102 by the AV input / output unit 208.
- FIG. 12 shows a list of programs reserved for recording displayed as a result of executing the reservation list application for the simple remote controller.
- the application management unit 205 of the recorder 101 reads out the recording application from the program storage unit 206, and the program execution unit 207 executes the application to read the program.
- the recorded program is recorded.

- the AV stream control unit 209 records the program additional information received by the broadcast data receiving unit 202 in the program information recording unit 204.
- the value of the recording state 403 (FIG. 6) of the recorded program in the program additional information 401 is updated to “recording”.
- the recorder 101 can record two programs simultaneously.
- the full remote control 103 When a “stop” button of the simple remote control 104 is pressed by a user operation during program recording, the full remote control 103 outputs a remote control code “104” (FIG. 5) corresponding to the “stop” button.
- the remote control receiving unit 203 receives the remote control code and transmits the received remote control code to the application management unit 205.
- the application management unit 205 uses the remote control code table 301 to recognize that the user has operated with the simple remote control 104.
- the application management unit 205 reads the recording stop application for the simple remote controller from the program storage unit 206, and the program execution unit 207 executes the application to execute an operation related to the programmed “stop” function.
- the recording stop application for simple remote control acquires the program additional information 401 recorded in the program information recording unit 204, the program whose recording state 403 is “recording”, and whose remote control flag value is “simple remote control”. Extract information only. Based on the extracted program information, panel data for displaying the program information being recorded is generated. 13A to 13C show examples of panels for displaying program information. The display conditions for each panel are shown below. Condition 1: When the recording of two programs is executed by an instruction from the simple remote controller 104, the panel shown in FIG. 13A is displayed.
- Condition 2 When the recording of two programs is executed by an instruction from each of the simple remote controller and the full remote controller, the panel shown in FIG. 13B is displayed.
- Condition 3 When the recording of two programs is executed by an instruction from the full remote controller, the panel shown in FIG. 13C is displayed.
