Definitions
- the present invention relates to a terminal joining method for connecting a terminal to an end of an electric wire.
- Patent Document 2 there is a method of melting a metal cage impregnated in the core portion of the electric wire and joining the terminal and the core wire portion via the metal cage (for example, see Patent Document 2).
- Patent Document 3 there is also a method (see Patent Document 3) in which a conductive adhesive is infiltrated into a gap such as a strand by filling the crimping portion with a conductive adhesive.
- Patent Document 4 there is also a method (see Patent Document 4) in which the crimping portion of the terminal is preheated and the crimping portion is crimped to the conductor of the aluminum electric wire in a state where the tin of the plating is softened.
- thermocompression bonding the conductor of each wire of a plurality of wire bundles to a terminal (see, for example, Patent Document 5).
- the present invention has been made in view of the above-described circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to provide a terminal joining method capable of easily and reliably joining a plurality of electric wires to a terminal without incurring a cost increase. It is to provide.
- the terminal joining method according to the present invention is characterized by the following (1).
- the molten metal is inserted into the conductor and pressed from the outside of the joint, or any one of them, and the molten metal in the joint is raised to a position vertically above the end of the jacket of the electric wire.
- the present invention it is possible to provide a terminal joining method capable of easily and reliably joining a plurality of electric wires to a terminal without incurring an increase in cost.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of terminals joined by a terminal joining method according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the terminal and the end of the electric wire joined to the terminal.
- FIG. 3 is a perspective view showing a usage state of the terminal.
- 4A and 4B are diagrams illustrating a method of joining terminals, in which FIG. 4A is a perspective view of terminals and ends of electric wires, FIG. 4B is a perspective view of terminals and a heater, and FIG. FIG. 3 is a sectional view of a terminal.
- FIG. 5 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing a terminal joining method of a reference example.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of terminals joined by a terminal joining method according to an embodiment of the present invention
- FIG. 2 is a perspective view of terminals and ends of electric wires joined to the terminals
- FIG. 3 shows a use state of the terminals. It is a perspective view.
- the terminal 11 has a joint portion 12 and a connection terminal portion 13, and is made of a metal material such as copper or a copper alloy.
- the joint portion 12 is formed in a bottomed cylindrical shape in which one end side which is an end portion opposite to the connection terminal portion 13 is an opening portion 12a.
- the connection terminal part 13 is formed in flat form, and the connection hole 13a is formed in the center part.
- a fixing bolt (not shown) for connecting to the fixed location is inserted through the coupling hole 13a.
- a plurality of bundled electric wires 21 are joined to the joint 11 at the terminal 11. These electric wires 21 are composed of a conductor 22 and a jacket 23 covering the periphery of the conductor 22.
- the conductor 22 of the electric wire 21 is formed of a metal material having a melting point lower than that of the terminal 11, for example, aluminum or an aluminum alloy.
- the jacket 23 is made of a synthetic resin material having excellent heat resistance such as polypropylene (PP) resin.
- the terminal 11 is used as, for example, a vehicle ground terminal, and the connection terminal portion 13 is connected to a vehicle body panel or an engine block of a vehicle such as an automobile. Then, the ground current that flows through the plurality of electric wires 21 flows through the terminal 11 to the vehicle body panel, the engine block, and the like.
- connection terminal portions 13 of the plurality of terminals 11 are overlapped so that the connection hole 13a is communicated.
- a large number of electric wires 21 can be connected to a fixed portion by fixing the connecting hole 13a to the fixed portion through a fixing bolt.
- 4 (a) to 4 (c) are diagrams for explaining a terminal joining method.
- the opening 12a of the joint 12 of the terminal 11 is directed vertically upward, and the joint 12 is joined by the heater 31 from the side (in the direction of arrow A in FIG. 4B).
- the part 12 is heated and the conductor 22 of the electric wire 21 in the joint part 12 is melted. If it does in this way, in the inside of joined part 12, it will be in the state where the molten metal reserved.
- the molten metal S may be raised to a position vertically above the end of the outer sheath 23 of the electric wire 21 by either inserting the conductor 22 into the joint 12 or applying pressure from the outside of the joint 12. .
- the molten metal S is distributed between the conductors 22 of the plurality of electric wires 21 very easily, and the conductor 22 of the electric wires 21 is well integrated with the joint 12 of the terminal 11. It can be reliably joined.
- FIG. 5 shows a reference example in order to explain further advantages of the present invention.
- FIG. 5 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing a terminal joining method of a reference example.
- This reference example shows ultrasonic bonding in which ultrasonic waves are applied to the conductors 22 of the plurality of electric wires 21 for bonding.
- a horn (not shown) is disposed on the opposite side of the anvil 1 with respect to the bundle of conductors 22 and is directed toward the bundle of conductors 22 by the horn (in the direction of arrow C in FIG. 5). Apply ultrasonic vibration.
- the applied ultrasonic waves do not sufficiently reach the opposite side of the applying side, and thus bonding may be insufficient.
- the conductors 22 are arranged, the intensity of ultrasonic waves may be dispersed and weakened.
- the terminal joining method of the present invention there is an effect that a plurality of electric wires can be easily and reliably joined to the terminal without increasing the cost.

Abstract
