Abstract

본 발명은 리튬 이차전지용 음극 활물질 및 이를 구비하는 리튬 이차전지에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 리튬 이차전지용 음극 활물질은 규소 및 상기 규소와의 혼합열이 각각 -23 kJ/mol 이하인 적어도 2종의 금속으로 형성된 규소 합금을 포함한다. 본 발명에 따른 리튬 이차전지용 음극 활물질은 용량이 커서 대용량 리튬 이차전지의 제조에 유용하다. 또한, 본 발명의 리튬 이차전지용 음극 활물질은 규소 결정상의 크기가 매우 작아 충방전시에 음극 활물질의 체적 변화가 적으므로 전지에 적용할 경우 사이클 특성이 우수하다.
