一方、特許文献1には、1-[2-フルオロ-4-メチル-5-(2,2,2-トリフルオロエチルスルフィニル)フェニル]-5-アミノ-3-(トリフルオロメチル)-1H-1,2,4-トリアゾールが開示され、そこには当該化合物が、有害生物防除剤として有用であることが記載されている。しかし、当該化合物は不斉硫黄原子を有し、光学異性体の存在が予測されるものの、特許文献1には光学異性体に関しては何ら記載がなかった。

(6)光学活性(+)-1-[2-フルオロ-4-メチル-5-(2,2,2-トリフルオロエチルスルフィニル)フェニル]-5-アミノ-3-(トリフルオロメチル)-1H-1,2,4-トリアゾールの製造方法であって、1-[2-フルオロ-4-メチル-5-(2,2,2-トリフルオロエチルスルフィニル)フェニル]-5-アミノ-3-(トリフルオロメチル)-1H-1,2,4-トリアゾールのラセミ体を光学分割することを特徴とする製造方法。
なお、本発明において、「(+)-1-[2-フルオロ-4-メチル-5-(2,2,2-トリフルオロエチルスルフィニル)フェニル]-5-アミノ-3-(トリフルオロメチル)-1H-1,2,4-トリアゾール」と表記した場合、(+)体のみであることが望ましい。しかし、光学分割の方法によっては、その光学異性体である(-)体を完全に分離できないこともあり、このような場合、1~20モル%程度の(-)体を含んでいてもよい。
固体担体としては、例えば澱粉、活性炭、大豆粉、小麦粉、木粉、魚粉、粉乳等の動植物性粉末;タルク、カオリン、ベントナイト、炭酸カルシウム、ゼオライト、珪藻土、ホワイトカーボン、クレー、アルミナ、硫安、尿素等の無機物粉末等が挙げられる。
液体担体としては、例えば水;イソプロピルアルコール、エチレングリコール等のアルコール類;シクロヘキサノン、メチルエチルケトン、イソホロン等のケトン類;ジオキサン、テトラヒドロフラン等のエーテル類;ケロシン、軽油等の脂肪族炭化水素類;キシレン、トリメチルベンゼン、テトラメチルベンゼン、メチルナフタリン、ソルベントナフサ等の芳香族炭化水素類;クロロベンゼン等のハロゲン化炭化水素類;ジメチルアセトアミド等の酸アミド類;脂肪酸のグリセリンエステル等のエステル類;アセトニトリル等のニトリル類;ジメチルスルホキシド等の含硫化合物類等が挙げられる。

容量60mLのプラスチックカップに半分程度水を入れ、孔あきの蓋をし、この孔に脱脂綿を入れて水をしみ込ませ、その上に濾紙を2枚重ねて置いた。その上に直径2cmの円形に切り取ったインゲン(Phaseolus vulgaris)の葉を2枚のせ、感受性系統ナミハダニ(Tetranychus urticae)の雌成虫を10頭ずつ接種し、25℃恒温室(光周期条件:明期16時間/暗期8時間)に一晩置いた。異常虫及び死亡虫を取り除いた後、製剤例2に準じて製剤された試験化合物を表1に記載したように水等の希釈剤で希釈調整した薬剤を、自動散布装置で散布した(2mg/cm2)。処理2日後に死亡虫数を数え、式1により殺成虫率を計算出した。試験は2連制で行った。
