Abstract
Description
そのため、交感神経の活動を抑制することにより、上記のような状態を緩和する交感神経抑制剤の開発が行われている(特許文献1を参照)。
本発明は、上記のような事情に鑑み、より効果的に交感神経の活動を抑制することが可能な交感神経抑制剤、並びにそれを含有する化粧料、食品及び雑貨を提供することを目的とする。
また、本発明の他の態様に係る交感神経抑制剤は、エチル4-メトキシベンゾエートを0.001質量%以上50質量%以下含有することを特徴とする。
また、本発明の他の態様に係る化粧料、食品及び雑貨は、上記の交感神経抑制剤を含有することを特徴とする。
ただし、本実施形態の交感神経抑制剤は、香りを嗅いだ場合に限らず、飲食により体内で吸収された場合や、肌から吸収された場合でも交感神経抑制効果が奏される。
(エチル4-メトキシベンゾエートについて)
エチル4-メトキシベンゾエートは、蘭、ミモザなどの花に含まれている揮発性の香り成分である。エチル4-メトキシベンゾエートは、蘭及びミモザの花弁等をそのままあるいは乾燥した後に適当な大きさに切断したり、粉砕加工したりしたもの等から抽出して得られる抽出エキスに含まれている。また、この抽出エキスを分離精製して得られる画分を使用してもよい。抽出方法は、特に限定されないが、水蒸気蒸留法、熱水蒸留法等の蒸留法、有機溶媒抽出法、油脂吸着抽出法等一般的な精油の抽出方法を用いることができる。なお、エチル4-メトキシベンゾエートは、公知の合成方法によって合成することができるので、例えば市販の合成品を用いてもよい。
エチル4-メトキシベンゾエートは、下記化学式化1で示される。
また、交感神経抑制剤を化粧料、医薬品等の組成物に添加して、交感神経抑制効果を付与する場合には、添加する交感神経抑制剤中の有効成分の含有量は、0.0001質量%以上100質量%以下が好ましく、より好ましくは0.001質量%以上50質量%以下、さらに好ましくは0.01質量%以上30質量%以下である。
本実施形態の交感神経抑制剤は、本発明の効果を達成できる限り、その形態については特に制限はなく、液状、ペースト状、ゲル状、固形状等任意の形態で使用できる。
特に好適な態様の1つである化粧料として、限定はされないが、例えば、香水、オードトワレ、オーデコロンなどのフレグランス、クリーム、乳液類、化粧水、マッサージ用ジェル、マッサージ用クリーム、ファンデーション類、粉白粉、口紅、石鹸、シャンプー・リンス類、ボディーシャンプー、ボディーリンス、ボディーパウダー類、エアゾール、浴剤類等が挙げられる。
なお、本実施形態の交感神経抑制剤の様々な使用態様を例示したが、それらに限定されるものではなく、本発明の効果を達成できる限り、任意の態様で用いることができる。
エチル4-メトキシベンゾエートをエタノールで濃度0.1質量%に希釈したものを試験試料として用いて、試験試料の香りが交感神経活動に及ぼす影響を検討した。
エチル4-メトキシベンゾエートは株式会社井上香料製造所から販売されているものを用いた。
(交感神経活動測定試験の方法について)
心拍の間隔あるいは血圧は、安静時にも複雑に変動しており、交感神経及び副交感神経を代表とする複数の系で支配されている。したがって、心拍の間隔の変動(心拍間隔ゆらぎ)あるいは血圧の変動(血圧ゆらぎ)を周波数解析することにより各系の活性度を算出できることが知られている。心拍間隔ゆらぎの高周波成分は副交感神経活性、低周波成分は交感神経系と副交感神経系の混合した活性を示し、一方、収縮期の血圧ゆらぎの低周波成分は交感神経活性を示している(早野順一郎,循環器科, 34, 347-356, 1993)。そこで、収縮期の血圧ゆらぎを、解析ソフトを用いてパワースペクトル解析し、その低周波成分(SBP-LF)の強度から交感神経活動を定量し、試験試料の香りが交感神経活動に及ぼす影響を評価した。
試験は、温度25℃、湿度45%に設定した恒温恒湿室内で実施した。
被験者の手首橈骨静脈部にトノメトリーセンサーを装着し、ペイシェントモニターに接続して血圧を連続測定した。ペイシェントモニターは、オムロンコーリン株式会社製、BP508を用いた。ペイシェントモニターから連続血圧測定データをパーソナルコンピュータに取り込み、自律神経系活性解析ソフトを用いて収縮期血圧のゆらぎをパワースペクトル解析し、その低周波成分(SBP-LF)の強度から交感神経活動を定量した。自律神経系活性解析ソフトは、大日本住友製薬株式会社製、フラクレットWTを用いた。香りを嗅がせた場合と香りを嗅がせない場合のSBP-LF値を比較して、試験試料の香りが交感神経活動に及ぼす影響を評価した。
結果を図1に示した。結果は、香りを嗅がせた場合のSBP-LF値を、香りがない場合のSBP-LF値で除して算出したSBP-LF比で示した。このSBP-LF比が1より大きい場合は交感神経の活動は活性化しており、1より小さい場合は鎮静化していると判断される。
図1から明らかな様に、エチル4-メトキシベンゾエートの香りを嗅がせた場合には、SBP-LF比が1より小さくなっており、交感神経の活動は鎮静化している。したがって、エチル4-メトキシベンゾエートは、交感神経の活動を抑制することがわかった。
