- a known way of manufacturing cartridge cases is extrusion of a case by means of big and differently shaped pins, which are used to shape a cartridge from the basic material being in the form of a disc. Successive cold forming of a disc creates the shape of a case having a wall of adequate thickness. The bottom of the case is formed at the end by using a special tool. Problems that appear in the manufacture of this type mostly relate to the conditions of use of an adequate material, which must allow cold forming and be simultaneously tough enough not to break during forming.
- the cartridge case is manufactured according to the method of the invention from a conventional seamed or seamless pipe, from which the final shape of a tubular section B is formed with cold forming of the pipe. Then a bottom C of the case, which had been produced by cutting, is joined with the formed pipe section B in various ways like welding, soldering, forming, pressing, etc. in order to manufacture a cartridge case.
