(3)上記工程(2)で得られた焼成物と、アルミニウム含有成分とを媒体中で混合することにより、焼成物上に第2の被覆層を形成する工程と、
(4)上記工程(3)で得られた混合物から複合粒子を単離する工程と

本願発明の第一の態様に係る複合粒子は、二酸化チタンを含有する基材と、該基材上に、酸化ケイ素及び酸化ジルコニウムを必須成分として含有する酸化物層とを備えた複合粒子である。
本願発明の第2の態様は、
(1)二酸化チタンを含有する基材粒子上にケイ素成分と、ジルコニウム成分とを含有する第1の被覆層を形成する工程と、
(2)上記工程(1)で得られた混合物から被覆層含有粒子を分離し、該粒子を加熱焼成する工程と
を含む
上記複合粒子を製造する方法に関する。
(3)上記工程(2)で得られた焼成物上に第2の被覆層を形成する工程と、
(4)上記工程(3)で得られた混合物から複合粒子を単離する工程と
を含む。
本願発明の複合粒子は、従来の二酸化チタン顔料や二酸化チタン含有粒子が使用されてきた自動車や建築、建材物の上塗り塗料、プラスチック、インキなどの各分野において好適に使用することができる。上記複合粒子を含む化粧料組成物、塗料組成物、樹脂組成物又はインキ組成物である組成物、及び該樹脂組成物の成形体も本願発明を構成する。
(第1の工程)
硫酸法で得られた平均粒子径が0.26μmのTiO2粒子を水に添加して、TiO2濃度400g/lの水性スラリーを得た。このスラリー0.5Lを攪拌しながら80℃に昇温し、この温度を維持しながらTiO2に対し、SiO2換算で5質量%に相当する150g/Lケイ酸ナトリウム水溶液を添加した後、120分間かけてpH7になるように30%硫酸を添加した後、30分間かけて熟成した。次いで、攪拌下、40℃に調整し、スラリーのpHを7に維持しながらTiO2に対し、ZrO2換算で1質量%に相当する100g/lオキシ塩化ジルコニウム水溶液と30%水酸化ナトリウムを60分間かけて同時に添加し、30分間かけて熟成した。次いで、攪拌下、スラリーのpHを7に維持しながらTiO2に対し、Al2O3換算で2質量%に相当する250g/Lアルミン酸ナトリウム水溶液と30%硫酸を60分間かけて同時に添加し、60分間かけて熟成し、TiO2表面にケイ素の水酸化物とジルコニウムの水酸化物とアルミニウムの水酸化物の被覆層をこの順に形成した。
このスラリーを洗浄、固液分離した。得られた固体を900℃の温度で1時間かけて加熱焼成して、酸化物層を有する加熱焼成物を得た。
第1の工程及び第2の工程については実施例1と同様の操作を行った、すなわち、第1の工程により、TiO2表面にシリカ水酸化物とジルコニア水酸化物とアルミナ水酸化物の被覆層を順に形成し、第2の工程において得られた固体を900℃の温度で1時間かけて加熱焼成することにより、酸化物層を有する加熱焼成物を得た。
第2の工程で得た加熱焼成物を水に添加して、TiO2濃度400g/Lの水性スラリーを得た。このスラリー0.5Lを攪拌しながら、40℃に調温し、スラリーのpHを7に維持しながらTiO2に対し、Al2O3換算で3質量%に相当する250g/Lアルミン酸ナトリウム水溶液と30%硫酸を60分間かけて同時に添加し、60分間かけて熟成し、アルミニウムの水酸化物の層を形成した。
このスラリーを洗浄、固液分離して、120℃の温度で8時間乾燥し、次いで流体エネルギーミルを用いて粉砕して、本願発明の複合粒子を得た(試料B)。
第1の工程及び第2の工程については実施例1と同様の操作を行った、すなわち、第1の工程により、TiO2表面にシリカ水酸化物とジルコニア水酸化物とアルミナ水酸化物の被覆層を順に形成し、第2の工程において得られた固体を900℃の温度で1時間かけて加熱焼成することにより、酸化物層を有する加熱焼成物を得た。
実施例3の第1の工程でアルミニウムの被覆層を被覆しないこと以外は実施例3と同様の処理を行い、本願発明の複合粒子を得た(試料D)。
実施例1の第1の工程において、ジルコニウムの被覆層を被覆しないこと以外は実施例1と同様の処理を行い、比較対象の複合粒子を得た(試料E)。
実施例2の第1の工程において、ジルコニウムの被覆層を被覆しないこと以外は実施例2と同様の処理を行い、比較対象の複合粒子を得た(試料F)。
実施例3の第1の工程において、ジルコニウムの被覆層を被覆しないこと以外は実施例3と同様の処理を行い、比較対象の複合粒子を得た(試料G)。
実施例3の第1の工程において、ジルコニウム及びアルミニウムの被覆層を被覆しないこと以外は実施例3と同様の処理を行い、比較対象の複合粒子を得た(試料H)。
実施例及び比較例で得られた試料を用い、表1に示す各成分の混合物をペイントコンディショナー(レッドデビル製)にて30分間分散することにより、樹脂成分質量/複合粒子質量=1/1の塗料組成物とした。次いで、得られた塗料組成物をバーコーター#50を用いてボンデライト処理鋼板上に塗布し、140℃で30分間焼き付けて試験片を作製し、この試験片をサンシャインウェザーメーター(WEL-SUN-DC.B.EM型:スガ試験機株式会社製)を用いて光照射しながら、一定の間隔で純水を噴霧して促進曝露した。一定間隔毎に、60度光沢値を光沢計(GM-26D:株式会社村上色彩研究所製)を用いて測定し、60度光沢値が初期60度光沢値の50%以下になるのに要する時間を比較した。この時間が長いほど、耐候性が優れている。結果を表2に示す。
評価1で得られた塗料組成物を、1.5ミルアプリケーターを用いてガラス板上に塗布し、140℃で30分間焼き付けて塗膜化した。塗膜化初期の20度光沢値を光沢計(GM-26D:株式会社村上色彩研究所製)を用いて測定した。結果を表2に示す。
JIS5101に準じて試料を煮アマニ油と共にフーバーマーラーにてペースト化し、6ミルアプリケーターを用いてガラス板上に展色し、カラーメーター(SE-2000:日本電色工業株式会社製)でW値を測定した。結果を表2に示す。
実施例1に対し、実施例2~4の様に第3の工程を行うことによって分散性が良くなり、光沢が高くなっている。耐候性も更に上がる結果となっている。
実施例1及び比較例1の第2工程の焼成温度を変更することにより、焼成による白色度Wの変化を調べた(実施例5、比較例5)。また比較例5において、硫酸法で得られたTiO2粒子の代わりに、塩素法で得られたTiO2(平均粒子径0.26μm)を用い、同様に焼成温度と変色の関係を調べた(比較例6)。焼成前のW値からの変化ΔWを調べた結果を表3に示す。なお表中、STD(1)、STD(2)、STD(3)とは、それぞれ実施例5、比較例5、比較例6の焼成前の粒子の白色度(初期値)を意味する。
実施例1の第2の工程の焼成温度を変更することにより、焼成による複合粒子の比表面積の変化と初期20度光沢、耐候性を調べた。
比表面積はBET吸着理論に基づき、比表面積計(Macsorb model-1201:MOUNTECH Co.,Ltd製)で測定した。
なお表中、「SSA」とは比表面積(Specific Surface Area)を意味する。
上記「評価1:耐候性の評価」で示した方法と同様の方法にて60度光沢値が50%以下となるのに要する曝露時間を調べた。結果を表4に示す。
(第1の工程)
酸化チタン微粒子(堺化学工業株式会社製STR-100N)を水に添加して、TiO2濃度150g/Lの水性スラリーを得た。このスラリー5.0Lを攪拌しながら90℃に昇温し、この温度を維持しながらTiO2に対し、SiO2換算で6質量%に相当する150g/Lケイ酸ナトリウム水溶液を添加した後、180分間かけてpH9になるように30%硫酸を添加した後、60分間かけて熟成した。次いで、攪拌下、45℃に調整し、スラリーのpHを8.5に維持しながらTiO2に対し、ZrO2換算で3.0質量%に相当する100g/Lオキシ塩化ジルコニウム水溶液と30%水酸化ナトリウムを90分間かけて同時に添加し、30分間かけて熟成した。次いで、攪拌下、スラリーのpHを8.5に維持しながらTiO2に対し、Al2O3換算で4.5質量%に相当する250g/Lアルミン酸ナトリウム水溶液と30%硫酸を120分間かけて同時に添加し、30分間かけて熟成し、TiO2表面にケイ素の水酸化物とジルコニウムの水酸化物とアルミニウムの水酸化物の被覆層をこの順に形成した。
第2の工程については、加熱焼成温度を800℃としたこと以外は実施例1の第2の工程と同様の処理を行い、加熱焼成物を得た。
第2の工程で得た加熱焼成物を、水に添加して、ビーズミルを用いて粉砕し、TiO2濃度150g/Lの水性スラリーを得た。このスラリー5.0Lを攪拌しながら、45℃に調温し、スラリーのpHを8.5に維持しながらTiO2に対し、Al2O3換算で4質量%に相当する250g/Lアルミン酸ナトリウム水溶液と30%硫酸を90分間かけて同時に添加し、60分間かけて熟成し、アルミニウムの水酸化物の層を形成した。
このスラリーを洗浄、固液分離した。120℃の温度で16時間乾燥し、ハンマーミルを用いて粉砕した。
得られた微粒子酸化チタン粉末をミキサーに入れ、そこにメチルハイドロジェンポリシロキサン(KF-99P信越化学工業株式会社製)を添加し5分間混合した。その粉体を熱風式乾燥機を用いて、120℃で24時間加熱して、本願発明の複合粒子を得た。
実施例6と対比する粒子として以下のものを用意した。
・(比較例7)市販の微粒子酸化チタンSTR-100N(堺化学工業株式会社製)
・(比較例8)市販の耐光性微粒子酸化チタン系複合粒子STR-100A-LP(二酸化チタン表面にケイ素の水酸化物とアルミニウムの水酸化物からなる被覆層を有し、さらにメチルハイドロジェンポリシロキサン処理した微粒子酸化チタン複合粒子(堺化学工業株式会社製)
上記実施例6の複合粒子、比較例7の市販の微粒子酸化チタン系粒子、及び比較例8の市販の耐光性微粒子酸化チタン系複合粒子を含有する化粧料を以下の手順に従って調製した。まず、油相と粉体試料とを、ホモジナイザーを用いて5分間混合した。次いで、水相を添加して更に25分間混合することにより、乳液サンプルを得た。上記油相と水相の組成を下記表6に示す。

Cremophor WO7:PEG-7水添ヒマシ油(BASF社製)
Cremophor A25:セテアレス-25(BASF社製)
セチルアルコール:1-ヘキサデカノール(東京化成工業株式会社製)
Simulgel NS:(アクリル酸ヒドロキシエチル/アクリロイルジメチルタウリンNa)コポリマー、スクワラン、ポリソルベート60、水 混合液(株式会社成和化成製)
キサンタンガム:キサンタンガム(東京化成工業株式会社製)
実施例6、及び比較例8の粒子を含有する組成物を塗膜化し、得られた塗膜に対し、300~800nmの波長領域にわたって全光線透過率、及び平行光線透過率を測定した。それぞれの粒子(粉体)1gと、樹脂(大日本インキ化学工業株式会社製アクリディック(ACRYDIC)A-801P)10gと、酢酸ブチル5gと、キシレン5gとを、容量50mLの瓶に入れ、この瓶に、さらに直径1.5mmのガラスビーズを入れて、ペイントシェーカーで90分間分散した。#6バーコーターを用いて、スライドガラス上で厚み14μmに得られた分散塗料を塗布し、常温で塗膜を乾燥させた。乾燥後の塗膜の顔料濃度は17質量%であった。得られた塗膜の全光線透過率を、分光光度計(日本分光株式会社製V-570)で測定した。可視光透明性は平行光線透過光の透過率で、UV遮蔽性は全透過光の透過率で評価した。その評価結果をグラフとして図2、3に示す。
Claims (22)
- 二酸化チタンを含有する基材と、
該基材上に、酸化ケイ素及び酸化ジルコニウムを含有する酸化物層と
を備えた複合粒子。 - 前記酸化物層が、さらに酸化アルミニウムを含有する
請求項1記載の複合粒子。 - 前記酸化物層上に、さらに、水酸化アルミニウムを含有する水酸化物層を備えた
請求項1又は2記載の複合粒子。 - 前記酸化物層は、さらに、チタン、スズ、リン、亜鉛、及びアンチモンからなる群から選択される少なくとも一つの元素を含む
請求項1~3のいずれか一項記載の複合粒子。 - 前記水酸化物層は、さらに、ケイ素、チタン、セリウム、スズ、リン、亜鉛、アンチモン、及びジルコニウムから選択される少なくとも一つの元素を含む
請求項3又は4記載の複合粒子。 - 前記基材100質量%に対し、前記酸化物層の割合は1.5~35質量%である
請求項1~5のいずれか一項記載の複合粒子。 - 前記水酸化物層の割合は、前記基材100質量%に対し、酸化物換算で0.01~20質量%である
請求項3~6のいずれか一項記載の複合粒子。 - 前記基材100質量%に対し、前記酸化ケイ素の割合は1~15質量%、酸化ジルコニウムの割合は0.5~10質量%である
請求項1~7のいずれか一項記載の複合粒子。 - 前記基材100質量%に対し、前記酸化アルミニウムの割合は0.01~10質量%である
請求項2~7のいずれか一項記載の複合粒子。 - 前記基材100質量%に対し、前記水酸化アルミニウムの割合は0.01~10質量%である
請求項3~9のいずれか一項記載の複合粒子。 - 前記複合粒子は、単離された固体粒子状の形態である
請求項1~10のいずれか一項記載の複合粒子。 - さらに、ポリシロキサンの層を備えた請求項1~11のいずれか一項記載の複合粒子。
- (1)二酸化チタンを含有する基材粒子上に、ケイ素含有成分と、ジルコニウム含有成分とを含有する第1の被覆層を形成する工程と、
(2)前記工程(1)で得られた被覆層含有粒子を洗浄し、分離し、該粒子を加熱焼成する工程と、
を含む、請求項1~12のいずれか一項記載の複合粒子を製造する
方法。 - 前記工程(1)において、ケイ素成分、ジルコニウム成分と共に、さらにアルミニウム成分を含有する第1の被覆層を形成することを含む
請求項13記載の方法。 - 前記工程(2)における焼成温度は600~950℃である、請求項13又は14記載の方法。
- 前記ケイ素含有成分は、ケイ酸塩又はその水和物若しくは溶媒和物である請求項13~15のいずれか一項記載の方法。
- 前記ジルコニウム含有成分は、ジルコニウム塩又はその水和物若しくは溶媒和物である請求項13~16のいずれか一項記載の方法。
- 前記工程(1)で添加する前記アルミニウム含有成分は、アルミン酸塩又はその水和物若しくは溶媒和物である請求項14~17のいずれか一項記載の方法。
- 前記工程(2)の後に、さらに
(3)前記工程(2)で得られた焼成物と、アルミニウム含有成分とを媒体中で混合することにより、焼成物上に第2の被覆層を形成する工程と、
(4)前記工程(3)で得られた混合物から複合粒子を単離する工程と
を含む、請求項13~18のいずれか一項記載の方法。 - 前記工程(3)で添加する前記アルミニウム含有成分は、アルミン酸塩又はその水和物若しくは溶媒和物である請求項19記載の方法。
- 請求項1~12のいずれか一項記載の複合粒子を含有する組成物であって、
前記組成物は、化粧料組成物、塗料組成物、樹脂組成物又はインキ組成物である組成物。 - 請求項21記載の樹脂組成物から形成される成形体。
