Claims (4)
- 1個のコネクタハウジングに装着される複数の端子であって、前記コネクタハウジングの後部から延びる後足部の長さが異なることで全長が順番に異なる2N(但し、N=1、2、3、・・・)本の棒状の端子を、1枚の帯状の板金Wからプレス打ち抜きにより成形するコネクタ端子の製造方法において、
前記板金上に該板金の両側縁に沿って配置された第1キャリア及び第2キャリア間を架橋する複数の棒体を、その長さ方向が前記板金の長手方向に直交するように前記板金上に配列し、
一方、長いものから順番にN本を第1群に、残るN本を第2群に振り分けられた前記2N本の端子を、各群の端子のうち短い方からn(但し、n=1、2、3、・・・。且つ、n≦N)番目の端子と長い方からn番目の端子を選択して両群の端子を1本ずつ組み合わせ、その組み合わせた2本の端子を前記1本の棒体上に直列に配置し、
その状態で前記板金からプレス打ち抜きにより前記各端子を成形するコネクタ端子の製造方法。 - 請求項1に記載のコネクタ端子の製造方法であって、
前記各群の端子のうち短い方からn番目の端子と長い方からn番目の端子を選択して両群の端子を1本ずつ組み合わせ、その組み合わせた2本の端子を前記1本の棒体上に直列に配置する際に、前記板金上に配列されたn番目の列の棒体上に前記2本の端子を配置すると共に、1番目の列からN番目の列までの前記棒体により構成される端子の集合を1単位として、複数単位の端子を1枚の板金より成形するコネクタ端子の製造方法。 - 請求項2に記載の製造方法により、前記キャリアおよび前記棒体を含む平板状の成形品を得る工程と、
該成形品を、前記各キャリアが接続された状態のまま、前記各棒体上の2本の端子の接続部位で切断することにより、前記第1群の端子の集合よりなる第1端子列と、前記第2群の端子の集合よりなる第2端子列とに切り離す切り離し工程と、
該切り離し工程により切り離した平板状の成形品に、その平板面と垂直な方向の曲げ力を加えることにより、前記第1端子列及び第2端子列を構成する各端子に、後足部を構成するためのL字状の屈曲部を成形して、前端側に相手端子と接触導通する電気接触部を持った水平直線部と、該水平直線部の後端より垂直下方に折れ曲がる垂直直線部とを形成する曲げ工程とを具備し、
該曲げ工程において、前記各端子の屈曲部の位置を高さ方向に調整しながら曲げ加工を行うことにより、前記第1端子列及び第2端子列それぞれにおける全端子の電気接触部の前端位置を揃えた状態で、長さの異なる各端子の後足部の前記垂直直線部の下端部から前記屈曲部までの高さを、端子の長さの順番に異ならせるコネクタ端子の製造方法。 - 上下方向に2N(但し、N=1、2、3、・・・)段の端子配列を有する多段コネクタの組立方法において、
請求項3に記載の製造方法により、前記キャリア付きの第1端子列と第2端子列を得る工程と、
前記第2端子列の各端子の水平直線部を、前記多段コネクタのコネクタハウジングの後壁の下からN段までの圧入孔にそれぞれ挿入することで、前記コネクタハウジングのフード内に第2端子列の各端子の電気接触部を収容する第2端子列組付工程と、
その後で前記各端子の後足部が接続された第2キャリアを切り離す第2キャリア切り離し工程と、
該第2キャリア切り離し工程後、前記第1端子列の各端子の水平直線部を、前記多段コネクタのコネクタハウジングの後壁の上からN段までの圧入孔にそれぞれ挿入することで、前記コネクタハウジングのフード内に各端子の電気接触部を収容する第1端子列組付工程と、
その後で前記各端子の後足部が接続された第1キャリアを切り離す第1キャリア切り離し工程と、
を具備する多段コネクタの組立方法。
