Description
フリクションを下げるには、図9に示すようなリップ摺動部の低摺動化を図った断面X字形を呈するXリング(以下、「従来技術1」という。例えば、特許文献1参照。)を用い、リップ摺動部の面積を小さくすればよいが、一定以上の圧力を密封するためには差圧で破損しない程度のシール肉厚が必要であった。
従来技術2のものは、シールリングの他にサイドリングおよびバックリングを装着し、密封対象流体の圧力が変化した場合でもサイドリングによりバックリングに作用する流体圧力を遮断し、バックリング変形を防止することにより、シールリングのフリクションの変化を抑制するものであるため、部品点数が多く、必要となるスペースも大きくなるという欠点があった。
また、本発明は、密封流体圧力が変化してもフリクションの変動を抑制できるコンタミシール装置を提供することを目的とする。
また、本発明は、使用温度範囲全域において密封性を保持することのできるコンタミシール装置を提供することを目的とする。
本発明において、コンタミシールとは、密封流体中に含まれる汚染物質をシールするという意味であり、密封流体を完全にシールするものではない。
第2の特徴により、第1の特徴の効果に加えて、密封流体圧力が変化してもフリクションの変動を抑制でき、使用温度範囲全域において密封性を保持することのできるコンタミシール装置を提供することができる。

(3)シールリングを装着するリング状溝の幅をシールリングの幅の0.92~0.98とすることにより、密封流体圧力が変化してもフリクションの変動を抑制でき、使用温度範囲全域において密封性を保持することのできるコンタミシール装置を提供することができる。
(5)本発明のコンタミシール装置を容量制御弁に組込むことにより、容量制御弁の外径を大きくすることなく、弁体とバルブハウジングとの間の微小隙間に異物が挟まることを防止でき、その結果、容量制御弁のソレノイドの推力を大きくする必要もない。

本発明におけるコンタミシールは、摺動部において、密封流体中に含まれる汚染物質をシールする(密封流体を完全にシールするものではない。)ものであるが、シールリング3の側面については必ず密封流体を完全にシールする必要があることはいうまでもない。
図2は、本発明の実施の形態2に係るコンタミシール装置の要部を示す正面断面図であって、シールリング3は図1の実施の形態1と同じであり、図1と同じ部材には同じ符号を付している。

この図から、実施の形態2におけるシールリング3を弾性材6を介して支持した場合、密封流体の圧力が大きくなっても、摺動部のフリクションは密封流体の圧力変化に比例せず、わずかな増加にとどまっていることがわかる。
図4は、実施の形態2に係る、シールリング3とリング状溝5内面との間に弾性材6を充填したコンタミシール装置を、容量制御用弁に適用した場合を示す正面断面図である。
この例では、ソレノイド10により左右方向に往復駆動される弁体11とバルブハウジング12との間であって、低圧側13と高圧側14との間の隘路15にシールリング3を装着し、低圧側13へのコンタミ汚染を防止するものである。
シールリング3は、弁体11に設けられたリング状溝16内に装着されており、シールリング3の摺動部の面が高圧側に低く低圧側に高く形成されたテーパを有する形状とされており、該テーパ部4に高圧側流体が作用するように配置されている。
このように、コンタミシール装置が省スペースで低フリクションであるため、容量制御弁の外径を大きくすることなく、弁体11とバルブハウジング12との間の微小隙間に異物が挟まることを防止できる。その結果、容量制御弁のソレノイドの推力を大きくする必要もない。また、密封流体圧力が変化してもフリクションの変動を抑制することができる。

密封流体の圧力が変化しても摺動部のフリクションの変化を抑制するためには、シールリング3の側面の密封性を高める必要がある。また、使用温度全域、具体的には-40~150℃の温度範囲において密封性を保持する必要がある。
このため、シールリング3を収納支持するリング状溝5の幅Bをシールリング3の幅の0.92~0.98の範囲に設定するのが望ましい。より望ましくは、リング状溝5の幅Bをシールリング3の幅の0.95に設定するのがよい。
このように設定すると、シールリング3とこれを収容し支持する部材との間に熱膨張の差が生じてもシールリング3側面の密封性を保持することができる。
なお、図5では、シールリング3底面と、これを収納するリング状溝5内面との間に、弾性材6を充填した場合を示しているが、弾性材6がない場合にも適用可能であることはいうまでもない。
図6は、本発明の実施の形態5に係るコンタミシール装置の要部を示す正面断面図であって、シールリング3は図1の実施の形態1と同じであり、図1と同じ部材には同じ符号を付している。
密封流体の圧力が変化しても摺動部のフリクションの変化を抑制するためには、シールリング3の側面の密封性を高める必要がある。また、使用温度全域、具体的には-40~150℃の温度範囲において密封性を保持する必要がある。
このため、シールリング3の高圧側に位置する側面とこれを収容支持するリング状溝5との間にOリング7を組み込む。
このようにOリング7を組み込むことにより、シールリング3とこれを収容し支持する部材との間に熱膨張の差が生じてもシールリング3側面の密封性を保持することができるとともに、密封流体の圧力が変化しても側面の摩擦抵抗により摺動部のフリクションの変化を抑制することができる。
なお、図6では、シールリング3底面と、これを収納するリング状溝5内面との間に、弾性材6を充填しない場合を示しているが、弾性材6があってもよい。
(a)図に示すように、シールリング側面にシールがない場合は、シールリングの内周側に圧力が印加され、内周側を広げる力が生じることはもちろん、シールリング3の外周側にも圧力が印加され、外周側を縮める力が生じる。しかし、外周側の摺動部には圧力が印加されないため、圧力印加される表面積の差により摺動部の表面積×印加圧力の力が摺動部に発生する。この力は圧力に依存している。このため、圧力の変化により摺動部のフリクションが変化してしまう。

この例では、ソレノイド10により左右方向に往復駆動される弁体11とバルブハウジング12との間であって、低圧側13と高圧側14との間の隘路15にシールリング3およびOリング7を装着し、低圧側13へのコンタミ汚染を防止するものである。
