  • the first drawback lies in that, while the strips overlap with the juxtaposed edges of adjacent plates, thereby eliminating a potential weakness zone in the system, there are no elements overlapping the points at which four adjacent plates converge, which thus constitute a potential weakness zone of the system, because a bullet hitting one of said points would meet with a lower resistance to penetration.
  • a second drawback lies in the fact that different configurations of the plates and of the corresponding strips are needed, depending on the point on the wall to which they are attached, particularly in line with the corners forming the joints between consecutive walls.
  • the present invention overcomes the above-described drawbacks by means of a fixing system according to claim 1 , of the type entailing the use of armor in the form of plates, arranged so as to cover the whole surface to be protected, the junction lines between said plates being surmounted by strips of ballistic steel, or other similar material, with means suitable for attaching said plates and said strips to the surfaces to protect, and characterized in that there are further tabs that overlap the junction lines between said strips so as to eliminate the weakness zones represented by the vertexes of said plates, where the corresponding strips come together.
  • the invention eliminates the weakness zones, represented by the point where four adjacent plates converge, by means of tabs overlapping the joint between the strips that converge on the same point.
  • the invention also concerns several particular shapes of strip and tab for the assembly of the armor plates in line with the corners of the shelter and with the vertexes of the shelter, i.e. with the points where two consecutive walls and the roof converge.
  • the invention is completed with several fixing means that enable its effective attachment to the walls, reducing the vibrations generated when the shelter is in transit with the armor plating already assembled.
  • the main advantage of the fixing system according to the invention lies in that all the weakness zones are completely eliminated, with a considerable improvement in the protection of the installation.
  • the fixing system according to the invention enables a marked reduction in the number of different parts needed, with an advantage both for the costs and, above all, for the ease of management of the parts concerned, that (it is important to bear in mind) are preferably assembled at the site where the system is installed.

  • the strips (4) effectively protect the edges of the plates (2), they leave the vertexes (5) of the plates at least partially unprotected, because in line with said vertexes (5), there is the point where the four underlying strips (4) come together.
  • Said fixing means (3) substantially comprise a stud bolt (7) that is screwed into a suitably threaded seat (8) prepared in the wall or roof of the shelter

  • the nut (9) comprises a cylindrical portion (9a) that is threaded internally so as to be screwed onto the corresponding thread of the stud bolt (7), said cylindrical portion (9a) having the same diameter as the unthreaded central part (7a) of the stud bolt (7).
  • said cylindrical stretch must be long enough to leave the necessary clearance between the plates (2), strips (4) and tabs (6) in order to ensure the correct locking of the parts after the insertion of said seals (10), (10a) and (11 ).

Abstract

La présente invention concerne un système de fixation de blindage sur des surfaces plates, en particulier pour la protection balistique de parois et de toits d'abris militaires. Ledit système de fixation est du type faisant appel à un blindage sous forme de plaques (2) disposées de façon à recouvrir l'ensemble de la surface à protéger, les lignes de jonction entre lesdites plaques étant surmontées par des bandes d'acier balistique ou d'un autre matériau similaire, à l'aide de moyens de fixation desdites plaques (2) et desdites bandes sur les surfaces à protéger, et il est caractérisé en ce que des languettes supplémentaires (6, 6a, 6b) sont utilisées pour recouvrir les lignes de jonction entre lesdites bandes (4, 4a) afin d'éliminer les zones d'affaiblissement représentées par les sommets (5) desdites plaques (2), où les bandes (4, 4a) correspondantes se rejoignent.
