Definitions
- the present invention relates to a clamping device using a chain that is a multi-node body that bends with a constant pitch between shafts.
- ⁇ Chains constructed by connecting a plurality of outer link plates and inner link plates so that they can be bent are generally used to transmit power. That is, the chain is wound around both sprockets, and the slave sprocket can rotate following the rotation of the main sprocket. By the way, a clamp apparatus can be comprised using this chain.
- “Chain-type universal clamping device” according to Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 59-69510 (Japanese Patent No. 1667769) is one of the prior arts of a clamping device having the chain as a constituent element.
- this “chain-type universal clamp device” is composed of at least a link plate provided on both side surfaces and pins connecting both ends thereof, and a chain in which a rectangular space is defined is bent in a saw-tooth shape, and a through hole is formed. A bar material having a predetermined thickness is inserted into the through hole, and one end of the chain is fixed to the case, and a spring or the like is connected to the other end so that the chain is elastic. And the movement of the bar material in the direction opposite to the fixed end can be clamped.
- a bush is fitted to the pin that becomes the bending center of the chain, and a roller is rotatably supported around the bush. Therefore, the size of the through hole formed by bending the chain into a saw-tooth shape becomes small, and the bar material inserted through the through hole must be limited to a thin one. In order to insert the bar material having a predetermined thickness into the through hole, a chain having a large pitch must be used. On the other hand, there are cases where the roller supported by the bush rotates and the clamp strength is loosened.
- the bar material is inserted into a through hole formed by bending the chain into a sawtooth shape, fixing one end of the chain, and pulling the bar material toward the other end causes the roller to engage the surface of the bar material.
- the bar material is clamped.
- the roller is rotatably supported, but if the bar surface is engaged (pressure contact) with a high surface pressure, the bar material does not rotate due to large friction generated by the engagement (pressure contact). Is clamped and cannot be pulled out.
- the “stepless clamping device” according to Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 63-285307 (Japanese Patent No. 1794545) is also a clamping device using a chain, and there is a possibility of causing the same problem as described above.
- the clamping device using a chain has a simple structure and can be freely clamped at an arbitrary position, so that its utility value is high.
- the above-described problems remain in the clamping device using the chain.
- the problem to be solved by the present invention is this problem, and provides a clamping device using a chain that can firmly clamp a bar member inserted through a through hole bent in a saw-tooth shape and can perform stable clamping. It is a problem to do.
- the basic structure of the clamping device using the chain according to the present invention is the same as that of the prior art, and a plurality of inner link plates and a plurality of outer link plates are flexibly connected via pins, and the inner link plate and the outer link A bar material is inserted into a through hole formed by bending the plate into a sawtooth shape.
- the bush is not used in the present invention, and a pin or a cylindrical roller inserted through the pin and pivotally supported by the pin is pressed against the bar material and clamped.
- the bar material to be clamped may be a long material having a rectangular cross section, a long material having a circular cross section, or a long material having another cross sectional shape.
- the pins are rotatably fitted in the pin holes provided in the inner link plate, and are fixed so as not to be squeezed into the pin holes of the outer link plate after being pressed.
- the caulking may be loosened and rotate. Therefore, in the present invention, the pin cross section is not a perfect circle but a non-perfect circle. For example, an ellipse that is very close to a perfect circle or an oval that is very close to a perfect circle can be used.
- the part which contacts a bar material can also be made into the shape which decentered with respect to the axial part.
- the rotation of the roller is prevented by using a roller having a shape in which the center of the outer periphery of the roller is eccentric with respect to the center of the hollow portion of the cylindrical roller. .
- the pin does not necessarily have to be caulked and fixed to the outer link plate.
- the material of the pin is made of a material having excellent elasticity, and the pin can be bent and deformed by being pressed against the bar material at the time of clamping.
- the material of the chain is inherently made of metal and therefore has elasticity, but in the present invention, it has superior elasticity compared to a conventional pin material made of a power transmission chain.
- the chain has a structure in which the inner link plate and the outer link plate are connected to each other via the pins so that the pins are not bent.
- the through hole formed by bending in a tooth shape becomes large, and the bar material inserted through the through hole becomes thick. This can reduce the size of the inner and outer link plates, that is, the chain size, resulting in a compact clamping device.
- the cross-sections of the pins connecting the link plates are not completely perfect circles. For example, they have an elliptical cross section or an oval cross section close to a perfect circle.
- the centering prevents the pin press-fitted and crimped into the pin hole of the outer link plate from rotating. Therefore, the clamping force is not loosened, and the bar material inserted through the through hole can be clamped strongly.
- the roller when the roller is pivotally supported on the pin, by using a roller having a shape in which the center of the outer periphery of the roller is eccentric with respect to the center of the hollow portion of the roller, the rotation of the roller is prevented in the clamped state and strong. Clamping is realized.
- the pin pressed against the bar material is bent and the pin hole is work-hardened, so that the rotation of the pin is prevented, and as a result, a strong and stable clamp is realized.
- FIGS. 1A and 1B are a side view and a plan view showing an embodiment of a clamp device using a chain according to the present invention.
- the clamping device is composed of a chain 1 and a bar material 2, and the chain 1 has an outer link plate 3, 3 ... and an inner link plate 4, 4 ... that can be bent by pins 5, 5 ... It is a multi-noded body connected to.
- the chain 1 is bent in a saw-tooth shape, and a through hole is formed in the longitudinal direction by bending. Therefore, the bar material 2 is inserted through the through hole.
- a coil spring 6 may be connected to the free end B of the chain 1, and the spring force may be biased so that the chain 1 is stretched by the coil spring 6.
- the spring force to be urged is not limited to the coil spring 6 and may be any leaf spring or elastic body having elasticity.
- the clamp apparatus using the chain shown in FIGS. 1A and 1B is different in structure, the basic operation principle is common to the conventional clamp apparatus.
- a bush fits on the outer periphery of the pin of the chain, and a roller is rotatably supported on the outer periphery of the bush.
- the bar material 2 that can be inserted is limited to a thin one, but the present invention overcomes this point.
- the cross section of the pin is not a perfect circle but a non-perfect circle.
- the pin since the pin has an elliptical cross-section and an oval cross-section, the pins 5, 5,... Once pressed against the bar member 2 do not rotate.
- FIG. 2 shows a state in which the elliptical pins 5, 5,... Are in pressure contact with the surface of the bar member 2 in a direction in which the contact radius r decreases.
- Pins 5, 5 ... have an elliptical cross section and cannot be rotated. That is, when the elliptical cross-section pins 5, 5,... Are pressed in such a direction that the contact radius r becomes smaller as shown in the figure, the pins 5, 5,. Attempting to do so will increase the contact radius r, thus preventing its rotation.
- the pins 5, 5,... Inevitably rotate due to the pressure acting between the bars 2 and the contact radius r as shown in FIG. Become the direction. Then, all the pins 5, 5... Are stabilized in a state where the contact radius r is reduced, and thereafter, the pins 5, 5,.
- the cross-section of the pins 5, 5,... Is not limited to an ellipse, and the same applies to the pins 5, 5,.
- pins 5, 5, it is not necessary to consider the orientation of the pins 5, 5,..., So that the pins 5, 5,... Press-fitted into the pin holes of the outer link plates 3, 3,. It does not have to be caulking firmly.
- 3A to 3C are a perspective view, a front view, and a side view showing a specific example in the case where the pin 5 is eccentric, and has shaft portions 9 and 9 on both sides of the contact portion 8.
- the shaft portion 9 fits into the pin holes of the outer link plate 3 and the inner link plate 4, and the contact portion 8 is a region that is pressed against the bar member 2, and the contact portion 8 is eccentric as shown in FIG. As with the elliptical pin 5, rotation is prevented.
- the pins 5, 5, 5... are made of a material having excellent elasticity (spring material), and the pins 5, 5. As described above, if the pins 5, 5... Are bent and deformed, a larger torque is required to rotate in a bent state than when the pins 5, 5. .
- FIG. 4 shows the bending deformation of the pins 5 and 5 when the bar material 2 is sandwiched between the pins 5 and 5.
- the pins 5, 5,... Are bent to prevent rotation, and a strong clamp can be realized.
- the bending of the pins 5, 5 ... also deforms and hardens the pin holes that support the pins 5, 5 ..., so that the pins 5, 5 ... are difficult to rotate. .
- a chain bent in a sawtooth shape is accommodated in a case, and one end A thereof is fixed to the case.
- a coil spring is connected between the free end B and the case.
- FIG. 5 shows a case where a roller 7 is pivotally supported on a pin 5 as another embodiment of the present invention.
- a roller 7 is rotatably supported on the pin 5.
- the pin 5 is attached to the outer link plate 3 without being caulked and fixed, and is attached in a rotation-free state.
- the roller 7 does not rotate. That is, the roller 7 has a shape in which the center of the outer periphery of the roller is eccentric with respect to the center of the hollow portion of the roller, and cannot rotate when in contact with the bar material 2.
- the structure in which the eccentric roller 7 is fitted to the pin 5 is the same as that of the eccentric pin 5 shown in FIGS. 3A to 3C, and the contact portion 8 corresponds to the roller 7.
- the case is also provided with a hole so that a bar material can be inserted into the through hole formed in the chain bent in a sawtooth shape.
- the case and bar material are used in various ways depending on the application of the clamping device.
- the bar material to be clamped is exemplified by a long material having a rectangular cross section as shown in FIGS. 1A, 1B and 5, a long material having a circular cross section as shown in FIG. However, it is not limited to them, and may be a long material having any cross-sectional shape.
- the clamping device using the chain of the present invention is useful as a device for clamping a bar material which is a long material having various cross-sectional shapes.
