- UE User Equipment
- TPG User Equipment
- the packet is routed to the UE through a tunnel such as Protocol.
- GGSN Gateway GPRS Support Node
- the route for transmitting user data from the Internet to the UE is in the order of PDN-GW, S-GW (Serving-Gateway), eNodeB, and UE.
- the route for sending packets from the UE to the Internet is UE, eNodeB, S-GW, PDN-GW in this order.

- ADSL Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line
- FTTH Fiber To The Home
- LAN Local Area Network
- the femto base station is connected to the operator network using an IPsec tunnel, and is connected to the S-GW through the S1 interface in the same manner as the macro base station. Since the femto base station is connected to the operator network via ADSL, FTTH, etc., if the UE directly transmits / receives a packet to / from the Internet without going through the node of the operator network when the UE is in the femtocell area, The burden on the node is reduced.
- a femto base station having such a function has already been proposed.
- a femto base station is provided with a function as a gateway device to the Internet that has been conventionally possessed by a PDN-GW.
- the IP address of the mobile terminal changes, so that communication between the mobile terminal and the Internet is disconnected.
- MIP Mobile IP
- a home agent is used as an anchor, a packet transfer header is attached to a packet sent to the home agent, encapsulation is performed, and communication is continued by transferring the packet to a handover destination.
- the above-described conventional technique has a problem in that since packets are encapsulated during packet transfer, overhead occurs and the amount of information increases.
- a packet having a small payload such as an RTP (Real-time Transport Protocol) packet in VoIP (Voice over IP)
- adding a transfer header to each packet greatly increases the amount of information. For this reason, there is a problem that the use efficiency of the band in the communication section for transferring the packet is lowered.
- the disclosed base station, communication apparatus, relay method, and communication method are intended to solve the above-described problems and to reduce the amount of information in a transfer packet.
- this base station is a base station that relays communication between a mobile terminal in a surrounding wireless area and a wide area communication network, and is connected to the wide area communication network.

- Receiving means for receiving a packet destined for two addresses from the wide area network and the destination of the packet received by the receiving means from the second address based on the correspondence information stored by the storage means.
- Conversion means for converting into one address, and when the mobile terminal is handed over to another base station included in the mobile communication network, the conversion means Comprising a transfer means for transferring the above has been converted packet to the mobile communication network, the.
- the second address is used as the address of the mobile terminal, so that the communication can be continued even if the mobile terminal is handed over. Further, the mobile terminal can continue communication even when handed over to another base station by using the first address as the address of the mobile terminal. Also, by transferring the packet by address translation, the information amount of the transfer packet can be reduced.
- the disclosed base station communication device, relay method, and communication method, it is possible to reduce the amount of information in the transfer packet.

- the second address is used as the address of the UE 105, so that the communication can be continued even if the UE 105 is handed over. Further, by using the first address as the address of the UE 105, the UE 105 can continue communication even if a handover from the femto cell of the femto base station 120 to the macro base station 133 is performed.
- the information amount of the transfer packet can be reduced. For example, unlike the case of transferring a packet by packet encapsulation like MIP, an increase in header information of the transfer packet can be avoided, so that the amount of information of the transfer packet can be reduced.
- the received DL packet can be wirelessly transmitted to the UE 105 as it is. For this reason, processing such as canceling the encapsulation of the transfer packet is not required as in MIP, for example. For this reason, it is possible to increase the communication speed and reduce the processing load.
- the communication destination of the UE 105 is another communication device connected via the Internet 101. Also good.
