Abstract
L'invention porte sur un procédé bon marché et pratique pour la fabrication d'un alcool de sucre et/ou d'un sucre, qui peut utiliser un produit agricole ou un sous-produit agricole contenant un composant issu d'une paroi cellulaire tel que la cellulose, l'hémicellulose et la pectine, sans nécessiter un quelconque prétraitement pour la conversion du composant en une matière hydrosoluble avec un acide, un alcali ou une enzyme et qui ne requiert pas la neutralisation avec un agent d'ajustement du pH, un acide ou un alcali ou similaire. Un alcool de sucre tel que l'arabitol, le sorbitol et le mannitol et/ou un sucre tel que l'arabinose, le glucose et le maltose peuvent être produits commodément à faible coût par chauffage ou chauffage sous pression d'un produit agricole ou d'un sous-produit agricole contenant un composant issu d'une paroi cellulaire sans aucune modification ou simplement après broyage mécanique du produit agricole ou du sous-produit agricole, en présence ou en l'absence d'un catalyseur.
