Abstract

본 발명은 터치패널 장치 및 이의 접촉위치 검출방법을 공개한다. 직렬로 연결되는 복수개의 제1 터치패드를 구비하는 제1 터치패턴을 구비하는 터치패널, 및 클록신호를 상기 제1 터치패턴의 일단으로 인가하여 상기 제1 터치패턴의 타단에서 출력되는 지연된 클록신호를 인가받아 상기 클록신호와 상기 지연된 클록신호의 지연시간 차를 이용하여 접촉물체의 접촉위치에 대응하는 접촉위치 데이터를 발생하는 터치 센서를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 따라서 복수개의 터치패드가 직렬로 연결되어 형성되므로 하나의 터치 센서만으로도 터치패널 전체의 접촉위치를 감지할 수 있으며, 터치패드가 연결선보다 넓은 면적을 가지도록 하여 터치패드와 연결선의 저항값의 차이가 확연하게 되어 접촉위치를 정확히 검출할 수 있다.
