- the category search mode screen is moved by operating the button 44, and the category corresponding to the primary category of the broadcast being received in the channel switching mode screen is changed to the primary category or secondary category. It becomes possible to search for channels included in the category. Therefore, it is possible to quickly search for other broadcasts in the same category as the currently received broadcast.
- step S50 the main microcomputer 15 sets the category selected in the category list as the second selected category. More specifically, for example, when the button 53b is operated on the screen of FIG. 6, in step S50, “Pop” that is a category corresponding to the button 53b is set as the second selection category.
- step S51 the main microcomputer 15 stores the second selection category in the RAM 15b.
- “Pop”, which is a category corresponding to the button 53b, is stored in the RAM 15b as the second selection category.
- step S52 the main microcomputer 15 causes the LCD 17 to display the second selected category as the category 51e.
- “Pop” is displayed on the LCD 17 as the category 51e as shown in FIG.
- a broadcast whose primary category or secondary category includes “Pop” which is the second selection category and whose channel number is “4” in the first row having the smallest channel number value.
- Information related to the broadcast with the channel number “4” is received on the satellite tuner 12 and displayed on the LCD 17 as shown in FIG. That is, in the display example of FIG. 10, “CHANNEL: 4” is displayed as the reception channel number 51c, “NAME: The'40s” is displayed as the reception channel name 51d, and “CATEGORY” that is the second selection category as the category 51e. : Pop "is displayed.
- step S53 the main microcomputer 15 sorts (rearranges) the buttons 53a to 53d as the category list.
- the display contents are sorted so that the second selection category is positioned at the top. That is, in the example of FIG. 10, the display of the button 53a is “Pop”, which is the second selection category, and the display of the button 53b is “Hits”, compared to the case of FIG.
- step S54 the main microcomputer 15 highlights the button corresponding to the second selection category.
- “Pop” is the second selection category, so that the button 53a corresponding to “Pop” is highlighted on the LCD 17 as shown in FIG. Note that, as described above, not the highlight display but the flashing display or other display methods may be used.
- step S55 the main microcomputer 15 determines whether or not the buttons 55 and 56 have been operated, and if operated (step S55; Yes), the process proceeds to step S56, and otherwise (step S56; No). Then, the process proceeds to step S58. For example, when the button 56 is operated, the process proceeds to step S56.
- step S56 the main microcomputer 15 causes the LCD 17 to display the second selected category stored in the RAM 15b as the category 51e.
- the second selected category is displayed as the category 51e.
- the same second selected category continues as the category 51e on the LCD 17 as long as the buttons 53a to 53d as the category list are not operated. Is displayed.
- the primary category of the channel is displayed as before, and the search condition for the next category search is generated. Can be prevented.
- step S57 the main microcomputer 15 executes channel search processing based on the second selection category.
- “Pop” is selected as the second selection category, so that channels having “Pop” in the primary category or the secondary category are sequentially searched and played in accordance with the operation of the buttons 55 and 56.
- the button 56 is operated on the screen shown in FIG. 10
- a broadcast whose channel number having “Pop” in the secondary category is “8” is searched, and the broadcast is received.
- information regarding the broadcast whose channel number is “8” is displayed on the LCD 17.
- “CHANNEL: 8” is displayed as the reception channel number 51c
- “NAME: The'80s” is displayed as the reception channel name 51d
- “CATEGORY: Pop” that is the second selection category as the category 51e. Is displayed.
- step S58 the main microcomputer 15 determines whether or not any of the buttons 53a to 53d as the category list has been operated. If operated (step S58; Yes), the main microcomputer 15 returns to step S50 and returns to the above case. The same process is repeated, and in other cases (step S58; No), the process returns to the original process (the process of FIG. 5).
- the buttons 52a and 52b are operated to display a new range button (not shown)
- the process returns to step S50 according to the operation of the new range button.
- the button 53c corresponding to the category “Rock” is operated, the process returns to step S50, “Rock” is set as the second selection category, and the channel search process is executed.
- the primary category of the broadcast being received on the channel switching mode screen is set as the first selection category, and the broadcast having the same category as the first selection category in the primary category or the secondary category is searched.
- any of the buttons 53a to 53d as a list is operated, it is possible to search for a broadcast having a category corresponding to the operated button in the primary category or the secondary category. Therefore, for example, when searching for a broadcast having the same category as the primary category of the broadcast being received in the channel switching mode screen in the primary category or the secondary category, and the desired broadcast does not exist by the search, Different categories can be selected by the buttons 53a to 53d, and channel search can be performed based on the selected category.
- the primary category of the channel being received is displayed as the category 41e on the channel switching mode screen, and the first category 51e is displayed on the category search mode screen.
- the selected category or the second selected category is displayed. Therefore, it is possible to clearly know which category is currently used for the search.
- the designated category is stored as the first selection category or the second selection category, and the channel search is performed based on these stored categories, the category to be searched may vary. Therefore, the search can be performed quickly.
- the primary category of the channel being received on the channel switching mode screen is set as the first selection category, and channel search is performed based on the first selection category until any of the buttons 53a to 53d as the category list is operated. Since it is executed, it becomes possible to quickly search for broadcasts in the same category as the channel being received on the channel switching mode screen.
- the category corresponding to the operated button is set as the second selection category, and the channel search is performed based on the second selection category. Since it is executed, it is possible to search for a channel based on an arbitrary category.
- one type of primary category and three types of secondary categories are used.
- other numbers may be used.
- two or more primary categories may be used, and two or less secondary categories or four or more types may be used.
- the search may be performed by referring to only a part of the channel search instead of referring to all of them.
- a search may be made by referring to only the top secondary category or the top two secondary categories.

Abstract
