Abstract
본 발명은 배기가스 중의 NOx 제거용 촉매에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 금속티타네이트를 담지체로 이용한 NOx 제거용 촉매에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 NOx 제거용 촉매는 금속티타네이트가 담지체 (support)로서 작용할 뿐만 아니라 연료희박 조건에서 NOx의 흡착 및 저장제 (이하 흡장제로 표기)로 작용하며, 담지 된 귀금속이나 전이금속 성분은 연료희박조건에서는 NOx를 NO2로 산화시켜 흡장을 돕고 연료 농후조건에서는 흡장된 NO2의 N2로의 환원반응에 참여하는 촉매 기능을 제공한다. 본 발명에 따른 촉매는 NOx 흡장량이 기존에 제시된 촉매들, 예로 Ba, 보다 2배 이상 많을 뿐만 아니라 150 ~ 700℃의 보다 넓은 범위의 운전 조건에서도 효율적인 제거가 가능하다. 더구나 배기가스 내 SOx 가 존재하는 조건하에서도 안정적인 NOx 제거 능력을 보여 지금까지 불가능했던 실용화가 가능하다.
