Description

携帯電子機器及びその制御方法
 本発明は、充電池が装着される携帯電子機器に関し、詳細には、充電池の使用状態を出力する携帯電子機器及びその制御方法に関する。
 現在、携帯電話用の電池としては、リチウムイオン電池が主流であるが、今後ますます携帯端末の小型、軽量化、かつ、高機能化(デジタルテレビの連続視聴や、音楽連続再生、WEB閲覧等)により、電池の充放電サイクルが、早くなり、結果として、携帯端末の使用期間に対し、電池の寿命が短い傾向になることが予想される。
 ここで、電池の寿命を検出する方法としては、電池のインピーダンス値の変化により電池の寿命を判断する方法(例えば、特許文献1を参照。)や、充放電カーブに関する関数を保存しておき、充放電時に劣化値を重み付けして計算することにより電池の寿命を判断する方法(例えば、特許文献2を参照。)がある。
 また、一般的に電池の寿命とは、電池製造メーカにより規定されており、例えば、約500~600回の充放電によって初期容量のおよそ5~6割程度まで低下した時点の状態ことをいう。そして、この状態を超えた場合には、内部抵抗の上昇等により、携帯端末の動作に対して所期の動作を担保できなくなる。
 したがって、携帯端末の所期の動作を担保するために、使用者に対して、正確かつ明確に電池の寿命を出力する必要がある。

 ところで、携帯端末においては、電池を取り外したり装着したりすることができ、電池が交換された場合には、電池の寿命状態を判定することは困難である。
 本発明では、上述のような課題に鑑みてなされたものであり、その目的の一つは、簡易な構成により、コストの増大を伴わずに、電池が交換された場合等においても、電池の寿命を正確に判定することができる携帯電子機器及びその制御方法を提供することにある。
 本発明に係る携帯電子機器は、上記課題を解決するために、記憶部と、装着される充電池に対して充電が生じる度に、前記充電池の電圧を測定する電圧測定部と、前記電圧測定部にて測定された電圧の値に基づいて特定した充電回数情報を前記記憶部に記憶するように制御する制御部と、情報を外部から取得する情報取得部と、を備え、前記制御部は、前記情報取得部にて前記充電池に関する充電回数情報を取得した場合、当該充電回数情報に基づいて所定の情報更新を行うことを特徴とする。
 また、前記携帯電子機器では、前記制御部は、前記充電池に対して充電の終了が生じる度に、前記電圧測定部にて前記充電池の電圧を測定することが好ましい。
 また、前記携帯電子機器では、前記制御部は、前記充電池に対して充電の開始が生じる度に、前記電圧測定部にて前記充電池の電圧を測定することが好ましい。
 また、前記携帯電子機器では、前記充電池は、固有のID情報を有しており、前記記憶部は、前記充電池のID情報と前記充電回数情報とを対応付けて記憶することが好ましい。
 また、前記携帯電子機器では、前記記憶部は、前記充電池が取り外されても、記憶されている前記充電回数情報及び前記ID情報を保持する構成であり、前記制御部は、前記充電池が装着された時に、当該充電池のID情報が前記記憶部に記憶されているか否かを確認し、当該ID情報が前記記憶部に記憶されている場合には、当該ID情報に対応する充電回数情報に基づいて所定の情報更新を行い、当該ID情報が前記記憶部に記憶されていない場合には、当該充電池の充電回数情報を前記情報取得部により取得し、取得した当該充電回数情報に基づいて所定の情報更新を行うことが好ましい。
 また、前記携帯電子機器では、各種の情報を出力する出力部を備え、前記制御部は、前記所定の情報更新として、前記記憶部に記憶されている前記充電回数情報に基づいて前記充電池の寿命に関する情報を前記出力部により出力するように制御することが好ましい。
 また、前記携帯電子機器では、前記制御部は、前記充電池が装着された時に、当該充電池のID情報が前記記憶部に記憶されているか否かを確認し、当該ID情報が前記記憶部に記憶されていない場合には、当該充電池のID情報を前記記憶部に登録するとともに、以降の充電回数情報を当該ID情報に対応付けて記憶することが好ましい。
 また、前記携帯電子機器では、操作部を備え、前記制御部は、前記充電池が装着された時に、当該充電池のID情報が前記記憶部に記憶されているか否かを確認し、当該ID情報が前記記憶部に記憶されていない場合には、当該充電池が未使用品か否かを選択する第1の選択メニューを前記出力部により提示し、前記操作部の操作により前記第1の選択メニューから未使用品である旨が選択された場合、当該充電池のID情報を新規に登録するとともに、以降の充電回数情報を当該ID情報に対応付けて記憶するように前記記憶部を制御することが好ましい。
 また、前記携帯電子機器では、前記制御部は、前記操作部の操作により前記第1の選択メニューから使用品である旨が選択された場合、当該充電池の充電回数情報を前記情報取得部により取得することが好ましい。
 また、前記携帯電子機器では、前記制御部は、装着されている充電池の充電回数情報を、前記情報取得部により取得する際に、前記情報取得部により充電回数情報を取得することを促す情報を前記出力部により出力するように制御することが好ましい。
 また、前記携帯電子機器では、前記制御部は、前記充電池が装着された時に、当該充電池のID情報が前記記憶部に記憶されているか否かを確認し、当該ID情報が前記記憶部に記憶されていた場合、当該充電池が他の機器で使用されていたか否かを選択する第2の選択メニューを前記出力部により提示し、前記操作部の操作により前記第2の選択メニューから他の機器で使用されていた旨が選択された場合、当該充電池の充電回数情報を前記情報取得部により取得することが好ましい。
 また、前記携帯電子機器では、前記制御部は、装着されている充電池の充電回数情報を、前記情報取得部により取得する際に、前記情報取得部により充電回数情報を取得することを促す情報を前記出力部により出力するように制御することが好ましい。
 また、前記携帯電子機器では、前記制御部は、前記操作部の操作により前記第2の選択メニューから他の機器で使用されていなかった旨が選択された場合、前記記憶部に記憶していた充電回数情報に基づいて所定の情報更新を行うことが好ましい。
 また、前記携帯電子機器では、前記情報取得部は、通信により情報を取得する通信部を有しており、前記制御部は、装着されている前記充電池の充電回数情報を前記他の機器から前記通信部による通信を利用して取得することが好ましい。
 また、前記携帯電子機器では、前記通信部は、前記他の機器との間で無線あるいは有線により直接通信を行う直接通信部により構成されていることが好ましい。
 本発明に係る携帯電子機器の制御方法は、上記課題を解決するために、充電池を着脱可能であり、前記充電池の取り外しが生じても記憶されている情報の少なくとも一部を保持するよう構成される記憶部と、情報を外部から取得する情報取得部とを有する携帯電子機器における制御方法であって、装着される充電池に対して充電が生じる度に、前記充電池の電圧を測定するステップと、測定された電圧の値に基づいて充電回数情報を特定するステップと、特定した充電回数情報を前記記憶部に記憶するステップと、を備え、前記情報取得部にて前記充電池に関する充電回数情報を取得した場合、当該充電回数情報に基づいて所定の情報更新を行うことを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、電池が交換された場合等においても、電池の寿命を正確に判定することができる。

発明を実施するための形態
 以下、本発明の実施の形態について説明する。
 図1は、本発明に係る携帯電子機器の一例である携帯電話装置1の外観斜視図を示す。なお、以下では、携帯電話装置について説明するが、本発明はこれに限定されるものではなく、PHS(Personal Handy phone System)、PDA(Personal Digital Assistant)、ポータブルナビゲーション装置、ノートパソコン等であっても良い。
 携帯電話装置1は、操作部側筐体部2と、表示部側筐体部3と、を備えて構成される。操作部側筐体部2は、表面部10に、操作キー群11と、使用者が通話時に発した音声が入力されるマイク12と、を備えて構成される。操作キー群11は、各種設定や電話帳機能やメール機能等の各種機能を動作させるための機能設定操作ボタン13と、電話番号の数字やメール等の文字等を入力するための入力操作ボタン14と、各種操作における決定やスクロール等を行う決定操作ボタン15と、から構成されている。
 また、表示部側筐体部3は、表面部20に、各種情報を表示するためのディスプレイ21と、通話の相手側の音声を出力する音声出力部22と、を備えて構成されている。
 また、操作部側筐体部2の上端部と表示部側筐体部3の下端部とは、ヒンジ機構4を介して連結されている。また、携帯電話装置1は、ヒンジ機構4を介して連結された操作部側筐体部2と表示部側筐体部3とを相対的に回転することにより、操作部側筐体部2と表示部側筐体部3とが互いに開いた状態(開放状態)にしたり、操作部側筐体部2と表示部側筐体部3とが折り畳まれた状態(折畳み状態)にしたりできる。
 なお、図1は、いわゆる折り畳み型の携帯電話装置の形態を示しているが、本発明に係る携帯電話装置の形態としては特にこれに限られず、操作部側筐体部2と表示部側筐体部3とを重ね合わせた状態から一方の筐体を一方向にスライドさせるようにしたスライド式や、操作部側筐体部2と表示部側筐体部3との重ね合せ方向に沿う軸線を中心に一方の筐体を回転させるようにした回転式(ターンタイプ)等であっても良い。
 また、図2は、操作部側筐体部2の一部を分解した斜視図を示している。操作部側筐体部2は、図2に示すように、回路基板30と、リアケース部31と、充電可能な電池である充電池32と、充電池カバー33と、によって構成されている。
 回路基板30は、所定の演算処理を行うCPU等の素子(後述する制御ブロック48に相当)が実装されており、表面部10上の操作キー群11がユーザにより操作が行われたときに、所定の信号がCPUに供給される。また、回路基板30には、後述する電池端子46が実装されている。
 リアケース部31は、ヒンジ機構4を固定するヒンジ機構固定部31Aと、所定の使用周波数帯により通信を行うメインアンテナ70を収納するメインアンテナ収納部31Bと、充電池32を格納する充電池格納部31Cと、を備えている。
 また、図3は、携帯電話装置1の機能を示す機能ブロック図である。携帯電話装置1は、図3に示すように、操作キー群11と、マイク12と、ディスプレイ21と、音声出力部22と、通信部41と、記憶部42と、電源回路43と、音声処理部44と、スピーカ45と、電池端子46と、非接触リーダ47と、各部を制御する制御ブロック48と、を備えている。なお、電池端子46には、第1の端子51と、非接触リーダ47に接続されるRFIDアンテナ52が備えられている。さらに、充電池32は、バッテリセル61と、認証用記憶部62と、非接触出力部63と、第2の端子64と、を備えている。
 また、携帯電話装置1は、この携帯電話装置1に対応する所定の充電装置80の上に載置されると、電源回路43と充電装置80の互いに対応する接続端子同士が接触して回路接続され、充電池32のバッテリセル61が充電される。
 すなわち、電源回路43内の一部には、充電装置80と充電池32の間を回路接続する充電回路が形成されている。また、電源回路43は、制御ブロック48からの命令に基づいて、充電回路により行われる、充電装置80から充電池32への給電動作のON状態とOFF状態とが切り換えられる構成になっている。
 通信部41は、所定の使用周波数帯により外部装置と通信を行うメインアンテナ70と、変調処理又は復調処理等の信号処理を行う通信処理部71と、を備える。また、通信部41は、電源回路43を介して充電池32から電源電圧の供給を受けている。また、通信部41は、一般的な携帯電話装置と同様に、例えば、CDMA2000_1x方式等の無線通信により、最寄りの基地局を介して、公衆の通信網に接続することができるようになっている。
 記憶部42は、不揮発性記憶媒体であって、複数個の充電池のID情報がそれぞれの使用状況の情報とともに記憶されている。また、記憶部42に記憶されている内容は、ユーザによる書き換えが行えないような構成になっているものとする。
 電源回路43は、充電池32から供給される電源電圧を所定の電圧に変換し、変換後の電圧を携帯電話装置1の各部に供給する。
 音声処理部44は、制御ブロック48により制御され、通話時における相手側の音声を音声出力部22から出力し、また、マイク12から入力されたユーザの声に信号処理を行う。また、音声処理部44は、例えば、記憶部42に格納されている音楽データの再生処理を行いスピーカ45から出力する。
 第1の端子51は、充電池32の第2の端子64に接続され、バッテリセル61から供給される電源電圧を電源回路43に供給する。
 また、充電池32は、図3に示すように、認証用記憶部62と非接触出力部63とが互いに回路接続されている。そして、認証用記憶部62には、充電池を識別するための固有のID情報が記憶されている。具体的には、認証用記憶部62は、スタートビットとストップビットに挟まれてなるデータ領域を有し、さらに誤り訂正用のパリティービットを含めるシリアルデータを格納可能な構成となっている。また、データ領域には、ID情報として、充電池32の製造番号等の充電池に固有のID情報や、充電池の種別情報(リチウムイオン式、ニッケル水素式、又はニッケルカドミウム式等)や、メーカ種別、容量値等の情報がシリアル列で記憶されている。
 ここで、充電池32の特性について説明する。例えば、充電池32がリチウムイオン電池の場合には、一般的に、約500サイクル程度の充電・放電動作により、容量が約60パーセント程度にまで低下する。また、容量が約60パーセント程度にまで低下した状態を電池寿命に達した状態という。なお、充電池32は、電池寿命に達した状態であっても、まだ使用可能な状態ではあるが、このような状態においては、インピーダンスも上昇しており、所期の性能を発揮するのは困難な状況になっている。また、容量が約60パーセント未満に達した後は、容量が加速度的に低下してゆく(図4を参照。)。
 したがって、充電池の充放電の回数をカウントし、そのカウントに応じて電池寿命を使用者に出力することが望まれるが、充電池が交換等された場合、継続的な電池寿命の測定ができず、電池寿命を正確に判定することが困難となる。例えば、携帯電話装置から充電池が抜き取られ、当該充電池を専用の充電機器等により充電を行う。そして、その後、再び携帯電話装置に装着するような場合には、当該充電池32の充電サイクル回数自体は更新されているが、充電池32にこのような更新情報が残らない。そのため、正確な充電寿命を判断することが困難となる。そこで、本発明では、簡易な構成によってコストの増大を伴わずに、充電池が交換等された場合においても、電池寿命を正確に判定することが可能な構成及び方法を提案する。
 また、非接触リーダ47は、制御ブロック48の制御にしたがって、RFID(Radio Frequency Identification)の技術により、非接触出力部63との間でRFIDアンテナ52を介して非接触式(無線式)通信を行ない、充電池32の認証用記憶部62に記憶されているID情報を読み取ることができるようになっている。
 すなわち、充電池32が携帯電話装置1に装着された場合でも、非接触リーダ47と非接触出力部63は直接回路接続されないが、充電池32が装着されたことを検出すると、まず、制御ブロック48がバックグラウンド(表示や音を伴わず)で立ち上がる。そして、制御ブロック48の命令に基づいて非接触リーダ47が認証要求の無線送信を開始する。また、非接触出力部63は、充電池32内のバッテリセル61から電源の供給を受けずに、非接触リーダ47からの認証要求信号を受信することにより動作電力が電磁誘導により生成される。そして、非接触出力部63は、動作電力を電源として認証用記憶部62に記憶されているID情報を読み出すとともに、このID情報を非接触リーダ47に無線出力するようになっている。
 つぎに、制御ブロック48の構成について説明する。制御ブロック48は、図5に示すように、電圧測定部100と、制御部101と、を備える。電圧測定部100は、充電池32に接続され、充電池32の電圧値の測定を行う。制御部101は、充電池32に対して充電の開始及び充電の終了が生じる度に、電圧測定部100にて充電池32の電圧を測定し、測定された電圧の値に基づいて特定した充電回数情報を記憶部42に記憶するように制御する。
 また、携帯電話装置1は、充電池32に関する充電回数情報を外部から取得する情報取得部49を備える。
 また、情報取得部49は、磁界通信により情報を取得するRFIDにより構成される磁界通信部102を有する構成であっても良い。このような構成の場合には、制御部101は、他の機器との間で磁界通信部102による磁界通信を利用して装着されている充電池32の充電回数情報を取得する。
 また、情報取得部49は、Bluetooth(登録商標)等の近距離無線通信のほか、USB(Universal Serial Bus)等の有線通信を行えるような構成であっても良い。このようにして、情報取得部49は、端末間において、基地局等を介さないで直接的に通信を行う直接通信部により構成されている。
 また、情報取得部49は、外部から充電回数情報を取得可能な構成であれば良く、RFIDに限られない。例えば、情報取得部49は、赤外線通信(IrDA、Infrared Data Association)等により構成される通信手段であっても良いし、また、着脱可能なメモリカード等のインターフェースであっても良い。
 また、本実施例においては、情報取得部49を通信部41と独立したものとして説明するが、情報取得部49は、通信部41により構成されても良い。このような構成の場合には、携帯電話装置1は、充電池32の充電回数情報を外部機器等から送信されるメール等により取得する。
 なお、情報取得部49は、基地局等を介して間接的に電池情報を取得できるような構成であっても良い。情報取得部49は、地下やビル内等のように基地局まで電波の届きにくいシチュエーションにおいて電池交換をした場合に、時間を置かずに情報取得ができる直接通信部により構成されている方が好ましい。
 また、制御部101は、情報取得部49にて充電回数情報を取得した場合、当該充電回数情報に基づいて所定の情報更新を行う。
 このように構成されることにより、本発明では、充電池32が交換された場合(元の充電池32が再び装着された場合も含む)において、他の機器に保存されている交換された充電池32の充電回数情報を取得し、取得した充電回数情報に基づいて所定の情報更新を行う。したがって、簡易な構成により、コストの増大を伴わずに、充電池32の寿命を正確に判定することができる。
 また、充電池32は、上述したように固有のID情報を有している。また、記憶部42は、充電池32が取り外されても、記憶されている充電回数情報及びID情報を保持する構成である。また、制御部101は、充電池32が装着された時に、充電池32のID情報が記憶部42に記憶されているか否かを確認し、ID情報が記憶部42に記憶されている場合には、ID情報に対応する充電回数情報に基づいて所定の情報更新を行う。また、制御部101は、ID情報が記憶部42に記憶されていない場合には、充電池32の充電回数情報を情報取得部49により取得し、取得した充電回数情報に基づいて所定の情報更新を行う。
 このように構成されることにより、本発明では、充電池32が交換された場合(元の充電池32が再び装着された場合も含む)において、当該充電池32のID情報が記憶部42に記憶されているか否か、すなわち、過去に携帯電話装置1に装着され、充電回数情報が記憶部42に記憶されているか否かを判断する。そして、当該判断に応じて、他の機器に保存されている充電池32の充電回数情報を取得し、取得した充電回数情報に基づいて所定の情報更新を行う。したがって、簡易な構成により、コストの増大を伴わずに、充電池32の寿命を正確に判定することができる。
 また、携帯電話装置1は、各種の情報を出力する出力部(ディスプレイ21やスピーカ45に相当する)を備える。また、制御部101は、所定の情報更新として、記憶部42に記憶されている充電回数情報に基づいて充電池32の寿命に関する情報をディスプレイ21やスピーカ45により出力するように制御する。
 このように構成されることにより、本発明では、充電池32が交換された場合(元の充電池32が再び装着された場合も含む)において、他の機器に保存されている充電池32の充電回数情報を取得し、取得した充電回数情報に基づいて、充電池32の寿命に関する情報をディスプレイ21やスピーカ45に提示する。したがって、簡易な構成により、コストの増大を伴わずに、使用者に対して充電池32の寿命に関する正確な情報を明確に提示することができる。
 また、制御部101は、充電池32が装着された時に、充電池32のID情報が記憶部42に記憶されているか否かを確認する。そして、制御部101は、ID情報が記憶部42に記憶されていない場合には、充電池32が未使用品か否かを選択する第1の選択メニューを出力部(ディスプレイ21やスピーカ45に相当する)により提示する。そして、制御部101は、操作キー群11の操作により第1の選択メニューから未使用品である旨が選択された場合、充電池32のID情報を新規に登録するとともに、以降の充電回数情報をID情報に対応付けて記憶するように記憶部42を制御する。また、制御部101は、操作キー群11の操作により第1の選択メニューから使用品である旨が選択された場合、充電池32の充電回数情報を情報取得部49により取得することを促す情報をディスプレイ21やスピーカ45により出力する。
 このように構成されることにより、本発明では、充電池32が交換された場合(元の充電池32が再び装着された場合も含む)において、交換された充電池32が未使用品であるか使用品であるかを第1の選択メニューの中から使用者に選択させる。そして、当該選択結果に応じて、充電池32を新規に登録したり、他の機器に保存されている充電池32の充電回数情報を取得するためのメッセージを表示するので、充電池32の寿命判定を正確に行うことができる。
 また、制御部101は、充電池32が装着された時に、充電池32のID情報が記憶部42に記憶されているか否かを確認する。そして、制御部101は、ID情報が記憶部42に記憶されていた場合、充電池32が他の機器で使用されていたか否かを選択する第2の選択メニューを出力部(ディスプレイ21やスピーカ45に相当する)により提示する。そして、制御部101は、操作キー群11の操作により第2の選択メニューから他の機器で使用されていなかった旨が選択された場合、記憶部42に記憶していた充電回数情報に基づいて所定の情報更新を行う。また、制御部101は、操作キー群11の操作により第2の選択メニューから他の機器で使用されていた旨が選択された場合、充電池32の充電回数情報を情報取得部49により取得することを促す情報(メッセージ)をディスプレイ21やスピーカ45により出力するように制御する。
 このように構成されることにより、本発明では、充電池32が交換された場合(元の充電池32が再び装着された場合も含む)において、交換された充電池32が他の機器で使用されていたか否かを第2の選択メニューの中から使用者に選択させる。そして、当該選択結果に応じて、他の機器から充電池32の充電回数情報を取得する旨の通知を行うので、充電池32の寿命判定を正確に行うことができる。
 つぎに、上述した充電池32の電池寿命の判定を正確に行うための方法について、図6及び図7に示すフローチャートを参照しながら説明する。なお、以下では、非接触出力部63を有する充電池32とそれを認識し充電・放電回数を把握して電池寿命を判定する機能を有する携帯電話装置1を想定している。特に、携帯電話装置1において、過去に充電池32を他の機器で使用され、再び携帯電話装置1に装着された場合に、充電池32の使用履歴(充電・放電回数情報)を他の機器から携帯電話装置1に転送する。そして、携帯電話装置1は、充電池32の電池寿命の判定を正しく出力する場合を想定している。
 ステップS1において、携帯電話装置1は、使用者の操作に応じて主電源がON状態にされ、所定の起動動作を行う。
 ステップS2において、制御部101は、充電池32が充電池格納部31Cから取り外され、再び装着されたか否かを判断する。ここで、携帯電話装置1は、充電池32が充電池格納部31Cから取り外された場合や、充電池32が充電池格納部31Cに装着された場合の履歴情報を保持しているものとする。なお、当該履歴情報は、例えば、記憶部42に記憶保持される。また、制御部101は、当該履歴情報を参照することにより、主電源がOFF状態から、ステップS1の工程によりON状態にされるまでの間に、充電池32が充電池格納部31Cから取り外されたか否かを判断することができる。
 充電池32が一度、充電池格納部31Cから取り外され、再び装着されたと判断した場合(Yes)には、ステップS3に進み、充電池32が充電池格納部31Cから取り外されていないと判断した場合(No)には、ステップS19に進み、充電・放電回数情報を変更せずに、ディスプレイ21に電池寿命の表示を行う。
 ステップS3において、制御部101は、充電池32のID情報を確認する。
 ステップS4において、制御部101は、ステップS3の工程により確認した充電池32のID情報から、当該充電池32が新規の充電池であるか、登録済みの充電池であるかを判断する。記憶部42には、充電池32ごとにID情報と充電・放電回数情報が格納されており、制御部101は、記憶部42にアクセスし、充電池32が新規なもの、すなわち過去に一度も携帯電話装置1に装着されていない充電池であるか否かを判断する。充電池32が新規の充電池であると判断した場合には、ステップS7に進み、充電池32が登録済みの充電池であると判断した場合には、ステップS5に進む。
 ステップS5において、制御部101は、充電池32が他の機器により使用されていたか否かを確認する第2の選択メニューをディスプレイ21に表示する。使用者は、操作キー群11を操作することにより当該第2の選択メニューの中から、充電池32が他の機器で使用されていたか否かを選択する。
 ステップS6において、制御部101は、ステップS5の工程により選択された結果から、充電池32が他の機器で使用されていたか否かを判断する。充電池32が他の機器で使用されていたと判断した場合(Yes)には、ステップS10に進み、充電池32が他の機器で使用されていなかった判断した場合(No)には、ステップS19に進む。
 ステップS7において、制御部101は、充電池32が未使用品であるか使用品であるかを確認する第1の選択メニューをディスプレイ21に表示する。使用者は、操作キー群11を操作することにより、当該第1の選択メニューの中から、充電池32が未使用品か否かを選択する。
 ステップS8において、制御部101は、ステップS7の工程により選択された結果から、充電池32が未使用品であるか否かを判断する。充電池32が未使用品であると判断した場合には、ステップS9に進み、充電池32が使用品であると判断した場合には、ステップS10に進む。
 ステップS9において、制御部101は、充電・放電回数情報をゼロとして、記憶部42に充電池32のID情報に関連付けて記憶する。
 ステップS10において、制御部101は、使用していた他の機器から充電池32の使用履歴情報(充電・放電回数情報)を取得するか否かの情報(メッセージ)をディスプレイ21に表示する。使用者は、操作キー群11を操作することにより、他の機器から充電池32の充電・放電回数情報を取得するか否かを選択する。他の機器から充電池32の充電・放電回数情報を取得すると選択された場合(Yes)には、ステップS14に進み、他の機器から充電池32の充電・放電回数情報を取得しないと選択された場合(No)には、ステップS11に進む。
 ステップS11において、制御部101は、充電池32の寿命判定を正確に行うことができないので、電池寿命を示す表示(電池寿命メータ)をディスプレイ21上から消す(解除する)旨の通知を行う。
 ステップS12において、制御部101は、ディスプレイ21から電池寿命メータを解除する。なお、使用者が、他の機器から充電池32の充電・放電回数情報の取得の操作を行った場合(ステップS13)には、ステップS14に進む。
 ステップS14において、制御部101は、他の機器から充電池32の充電・放電回数情報の取得を行う際の手段(例えば、RFID、IrDA、メモリカード等のインターフェース等)を選択するためのメニューをディスプレイ21に表示する。
 ステップS15において、制御部101は、ステップS14の工程によりディスプレイ21に表示したメニューの中から、一の手段を使用者に選択させる。
 ステップS16において、制御部101は、使用者により選択された手段に応じて、他の機器との間で通信を行う際の前準備を行う。なお、当該前準備とは、例えば、他の機器との間において通信が行えるかどうかを確認する準備(ハンドシェーク)等である。
 ステップS17において、制御部101は、他の機器から送信されてくる充電池32の充電・放電回数情報を受信する。なお、他の機器からの情報転送に失敗した場合には、本工程による処理を繰り返し、所定回数リトライを行う。また、所定回数のリトライが失敗した場合には、ステップS11に進む。
 ステップS18において、制御部101は、他の機器から送信されてきた充電池32の充電・放電回数情報を、当該充電池32のID情報に関連付けて記憶部42に格納する。
 ステップS19において、制御部101は、ステップS18の工程により記憶部42に格納された充電・放電回数情報に基づいて電池寿命メータを更新する。
 <充電・放電回数情報の計算方法及び補正方法>
 また、本発明に係る携帯電話装置1は、充電・放電回数情報の計算方法及び補正方法については、例えば、以下のようにして行う。
 制御部101は、充電池32の電圧状態を測定することにより、充電池32による充電・放電のサイクル数をカウントする。制御部101は、例えば、充電器に電気的に接続された時には、充電開始前の充電池32の電池電圧(劣化による第1の重み付け係数Xが加味される)を測定することにより放電回数をカウントする。また、制御部101は、充電器から電気的に切り離された時には、充電終了後の充電池32の電池電圧(劣化による第2の重み付け係数Yが加味される)を測定することにより充電回数をカウントする。
 つぎに、第1の重み付け係数X及び第2の重み付け係数Yについて説明する。なお、第1の重み付け係数X及び第2の重み付け係数Yは、記憶部42に記憶されており、充電・放電回数をカウントする際に参照される。
 第1の重み付け係数Xは、例えば、放電電圧に対する容量率の変化に基づいて、
(充電開始直前の電池電圧 → 第1の重み付け係数X)、
(4.20V以上 → 0回)、
(4.00V → 0.1回)、
(3.88V → 0.2回)、
(3.83V → 0.3回)、
(3.77V → 0.4回)、
(3.73V → 0.5回)、
(3.69V → 0.6回)、
(3.67V → 0.7回)、
(3.65V → 0.8回)、
(3.60V → 0.9回)、
(3.30V → 1.0回)、
のように決定される。
 また、第2の重み付け係数Yは、例えば、充電電圧に対する充電率の変化に基づいて、
(充電完了直後の電池電圧 → 第2の重み付け係数Y)、
(3.60V → 0回)、
(3.80V → 0.1回)、
(3.84V → 0.2回)、
(3.88V → 0.3回)、
(3.92V → 0.4回)、
(3.95V → 0.5回)、
(3.98V → 0.6回)、
(4.02V → 0.7回)、
(4.05V → 0.8回)、
(4.10V → 0.9回)、
(4.20V → 1.0回)、
のように決定される。
 このようにして、本発明に係る携帯電話装置1では、ID情報を有する充電池32の充電・放電回数情報の演算を行い、当該充電・放電回数情報に基づいて電池寿命を判定する携帯電話装置1において、充電池32が装着された場合に、充電池32のID情報を読み取る。そして、当該ID情報が新規の場合には、当該充電池32が未使用品か否かの確認を使用者に行う。また、使用品である場合には、情報取得部49により他の機器から充電池32の使用履歴情報(充電・放電回数情報)を転送させるように使用者に通知する。また、当該情報を取得できない場合であって、使用品を引き続き使用する場合には、寿命判定を行わないことを使用者に通知する。したがって、充電池32の寿命判定の誤りを防止することができ、充電池32の使用状況や残寿命の判定を正確に行うことができる。
 なお、充電・放電回数情報を転送する機器同士が相互通信を行える構成であれば、相互に充電・放電回数情報を転送しあうことにより、互いに充電池32の充電・放電回数情報を共有し、更新することができる。
 実施形態において、充電池の情報の出力先の例としては、ディスプレイの他、音声出力部でも良いがこれに限らない。充電池の情報は、外部接続されたモニター等に出力されても良いし、アンテナを介して無線接続された外部表示装置に対して出力されても良い。このように、出力部としては、ディスプレイ及び音声出力部の他、外部接続端子や無線通信部であっても良く、様々な形態が考えられる。

Claims (16)

  1.  記憶部と、
     装着される充電池に対して充電が生じる度に、前記充電池の電圧を測定する電圧測定部と、
     前記電圧測定部にて測定された電圧の値に基づいて特定した充電回数情報を前記記憶部に記憶するように制御する制御部と、
     情報を外部から取得する情報取得部と、を備え、
     前記制御部は、前記情報取得部にて前記充電池に関する充電回数情報を取得した場合、当該充電回数情報に基づいて所定の情報更新を行うことを特徴とする携帯電子機器。
  2.  前記制御部は、前記充電池に対して充電の終了が生じる度に、前記電圧測定部にて前記充電池の電圧を測定することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の携帯電子機器。
  3.  前記制御部は、前記充電池に対して充電の開始が生じる度に、前記電圧測定部にて前記充電池の電圧を測定することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の携帯電子機器。
  4.  前記充電池は、固有のID情報を有しており、
     前記記憶部は、前記充電池のID情報と前記充電回数情報とを対応付けて記憶することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の携帯電子機器。
  5.  前記記憶部は、前記充電池が取り外されても、記憶されている前記充電回数情報及び前記ID情報を保持する構成であり、
     前記制御部は、前記充電池が装着された時に、当該充電池のID情報が前記記憶部に記憶されているか否かを確認し、当該ID情報が前記記憶部に記憶されている場合には、当該ID情報に対応する充電回数情報に基づいて所定の情報更新を行い、当該ID情報が前記記憶部に記憶されていない場合には、当該充電池の充電回数情報を前記情報取得部により取得し、取得した当該充電回数情報に基づいて所定の情報更新を行うことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の携帯電子機器。
  6.  各種の情報を出力する出力部を備え、
     前記制御部は、前記所定の情報更新として、前記記憶部に記憶されている前記充電回数情報に基づいて前記充電池の寿命に関する情報を前記出力部により出力するように制御することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の携帯電子機器。
  7.  前記制御部は、前記充電池が装着された時に、当該充電池のID情報が前記記憶部に記憶されているか否かを確認し、当該ID情報が前記記憶部に記憶されていない場合には、当該充電池のID情報を前記記憶部に登録するとともに、以降の充電回数情報を当該ID情報に対応付けて記憶することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の携帯電子機器。
  8.  操作部を備え、
     前記制御部は、前記充電池が装着された時に、当該充電池のID情報が前記記憶部に記憶されているか否かを確認し、当該ID情報が前記記憶部に記憶されていない場合には、当該充電池が未使用品か否かを選択する第1の選択メニューを前記出力部により提示し、前記操作部の操作により前記第1の選択メニューから未使用品である旨が選択された場合、当該充電池のID情報を新規に登録するとともに、以降の充電回数情報を当該ID情報に対応付けて記憶するように前記記憶部を制御することを特徴とする請求項6に記載の携帯電子機器。
  9.  前記制御部は、前記操作部の操作により前記第1の選択メニューから使用品である旨が選択された場合、当該充電池の充電回数情報を前記情報取得部により取得することを特徴とする請求項8に記載の携帯電子機器。
  10.  前記制御部は、装着されている充電池の充電回数情報を、前記情報取得部により取得する際に、前記情報取得部により充電回数情報を取得することを促す情報を前記出力部により出力するように制御することを特徴とする請求項9に記載の携帯電子機器。
  11.  前記制御部は、前記充電池が装着された時に、当該充電池のID情報が前記記憶部に記憶されているか否かを確認し、当該ID情報が前記記憶部に記憶されていた場合、当該充電池が他の機器で使用されていたか否かを選択する第2の選択メニューを前記出力部により提示し、前記操作部の操作により前記第2の選択メニューから他の機器で使用されていた旨が選択された場合、当該充電池の充電回数情報を前記情報取得部により取得することを特徴とする請求項8に記載の携帯電子機器。
  12.  前記制御部は、装着されている充電池の充電回数情報を、前記情報取得部により取得する際に、前記情報取得部により充電回数情報を取得することを促す情報を前記出力部により出力するように制御することを特徴とする請求項11に記載の携帯電子機器。
  13.  前記制御部は、前記操作部の操作により前記第2の選択メニューから他の機器で使用されていなかった旨が選択された場合、前記記憶部に記憶していた充電回数情報に基づいて所定の情報更新を行うことを特徴とする請求項11に記載の携帯電子機器。
  14.  前記情報取得部は、通信により情報を取得する通信部を有しており、
     前記制御部は、装着されている前記充電池の充電回数情報を前記他の機器から前記通信部による通信を利用して取得することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の携帯電子機器。
  15.  前記通信部は、前記他の機器との間で無線あるいは有線により直接通信を行う直接通信部により構成されていることを特徴とする請求項14に記載の携帯電子機器。
  16.  充電池を着脱可能であり、前記充電池の取り外しが生じても記憶されている情報の少なくとも一部を保持するよう構成される記憶部と、情報を外部から取得する情報取得部とを有する携帯電子機器における制御方法であって、
     装着される充電池に対して充電が生じる度に、前記充電池の電圧を測定するステップと、
     測定された電圧の値に基づいて充電回数情報を特定するステップと、
     特定した充電回数情報を前記記憶部に記憶するステップと、
     を備え、
     前記情報取得部にて前記充電池に関する充電回数情報を取得した場合、当該充電回数情報に基づいて所定の情報更新を行う
    ことを特徴とする携帯電子機器における制御方法。
