  • Ships including seagoing vessels intended for transport of cargo such as containers and bulk, make use of, among other locations, the ship' s hold. Openings are provided in the deck of such a ship for this purpose. So-called ship' s hatches are provided in order to prevent water being able to enter the hold. These hatches can completely seal these openings. With correct dimensioning of the ship' s hatches it is then possible to place further cargo, such as containers, on these hatches .

  • the hatch can be adapted to the occurring loads to be anticipated as a result of, among other factors, the weight of the goods, wind load, wave loads and ship movements. Large overdimensioning of the whole ship' s hatch is therefore not required.
  • the strengthening ribs can also serve to distribute occurring loads over a larger area. These loads include the point load occurring when a container is placed on a hatch. The dimensions of the hatch can hereby remain limited, while relatively large loads can be absorbed.
  • the strengthening ribs are preferably provided with fibre-reinforced plastic. This achieves, among other things, that the weight of the hatch remains limited.

The other long side is provided with a seal 30 and mounting edge 32.

Abstract

La présente invention concerne une écoutille de navire destinée à fermer de manière étanche une ouverture dans au moins un pont donnant sur une cale d'un navire, tel qu'un navire de haute mer, l'écoutille présentant: une structure composite constituée d'au moins une couche de plastique sensiblement renforcé de fibres; -des moyens de montage destinés au montage de l'écoutille sur le navire; et -des moyens d'étanchéité destinés à fermer de manière sensiblement étanche à l'eau l'ouverture donnant sur la cale.
