Abstract

　本発明は、一般式(2)：(CF3)2C(OCH3)COOR（式中、Rは炭化水素基であり、該炭化水素基は、ハロゲン原子、酸素原子、窒素原子及び硫黄原子からなる群から選ばれた少なくとも一種の原子を有していても良い）で表されるα-メトキシカルボン酸エステルを分子状塩素と反応させることを特徴とする、新規化合物である一般式(1)：(CF3)2C(OCH2Cl)COOR（式中、Rは上記に同じ）で表されるα-クロロメトキシカルボン酸エステルの製造方法、並びに、該α-クロロメトキシカルボン酸エステルを、フッ素化及び脱炭酸させることを特徴とする、化学式(CF3)2CH(OCH2F)で表される1,1,1,3,3,3-ヘキサフルオロイソプロピルフルオロメチルエーテルの製造方法を提供するものである。 　本発明によれば、麻酔性を有する化合物として知られる1,1,1,3,3,3-ヘキサフルオロイソプロピルフルオロメチルエーテル（セボフルラン）を効率的且つ安価に製造することができる。
