Abstract

 固体酸化物形燃料電池用の燃料極材料として用いた際に、燃料供給異常などによって燃料極が酸化雰囲気に曝された場合でも、酸化膨張による電極の割れや電解質からの剥離を抑制し、発電特性の劣化を低減させることができる酸化ニッケル粉末材料とその効率的な製造方法、及び該酸化ニッケル粉末材料を用いた固体酸化物形燃料電池用の燃料極材料を提供する。  固体酸化物形燃料電池を構成する燃料極材料に用いる酸化ニッケル粉末材料であって、酸化ニッケル微粒子からなる芯粒子(a)と、芯粒子(a)の表面上に形成されたジルコニウム水酸化物を主成分として含む被覆層(b)とから構成され、かつ被覆層(b)に含有されるジルコニウム量が、該酸化ニッケル微粒子の表面積あたり0.001~0.01g/m2であることを特徴とする。
