Abstract

 凍結治療装置1では、通常電源によって駆動され、比較的小型で且つ安価なFPSC(フリーピストン型スターリング冷凍機)2が用いられる。そして、前記FPSC2の吸熱部2aに、低温で動作する冷媒が封入された内管6の基端部6aが接続される。これにより、前記内管6の先端部6bに設けられた熱交換部8を体内における所定の部位に位置させた状態で前記FPSC2を駆動させると、前記熱交換部8から前記FPSC2の吸熱部2aに冷媒を介して熱が移動する。このとき、前記内管6が外管7によって覆われることで真空引きされた隙間Sが形成されるため、前記内管6に封入された冷媒が外部と断熱される。これにより、前記熱交換部8が位置させられた所定の部位にアイスボールが形成される。
