Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de revêtement d'une bande (9) de papier, de carton ou d'autre matériau fibreux en mouvement, à l'aide d'au moins une buse d'application en rideau (2, 2a, 2b) disposée au-dessus de la bande de matériau fibreux à revêtir, à partir de laquelle au moins un rideau (3) de fluide d'application (M1, M2) liquide à pâteux, notamment de peinture, chutant librement, essentiellement sous l'effet de la gravité, est appliqué à un débit défini (Q) et à partir d'une hauteur définie (H1, H3), sur une surface (4) située sous le dispositif d'application. En cas d'application directe, ladite surface (4) est la bande de matériau fibreux (9), et en cas d'application indirecte, ladite surface (4) est une surface de guidage (5) à partir de laquelle le fluide d'application (M1, M2) est appliqué sur la bande de matériau fibreux (9), également sous forme de rideau (8), à partir d'une hauteur de chute partielle (TH2). Selon l'invention, en cas de débit (Q) faible, c'est à dire en cas de débit inférieur ou égal à 6l/min/m, notamment inférieur ou égal à 4l/min/m, un écart entre la buse d'application en rideau (2, 2a, 2b) et la surface (4) située en dessous, ou une hauteur (H1, H3) du rideau (3) chutant librement, est réglé inférieur ou égal à 10 mm. L'invention concerne également un dispositif destiné à la mise en oeuvre du procédé.
