Abstract

　コンストラスト比の向上を図ることができる表示装置を提供すること。 　表示パネル２側に光源２４からの光を照射して画像表示がなされる表示装置１において、表示パネル２の背面側に配される非発光時に透明な透明ＥＬシート３０と、光源２４からの光を表示パネル２側に反射する反射シート４０と、表示パネル２の画像表示を制御する表示制御部１８ａと、透明ＥＬシート３０の発光を制御する発光制御部１８ｂとを備えると共に、発光制御部１８ｂが透明ＥＬシート３０の少なくとも一部の面を表示制御部１８ａが制御する表示パネル２の画像表示に対応して発光させて、その発光させた光を光源２４からの光および反射シート４０からの反射光と共に表示パネル２に照射する。
