Abstract

 本発明は、媒体設計が容易で、安価で容易にECC型の磁気記録媒体を製造可能な製造方法、および磁気記録再生装置を提供することを目的としており、この目的を達成するために、非磁性基板上に、少なくとも軟磁性裏打ち層と下地層と中間層と垂直磁気記録層を有する垂直磁気記録媒体において、前記磁気記録層は少なくとも1層以上の主記録層と、補助記録層から構成され、前記主記録層は、垂直磁気異方性を有する層から構成され、前記補助記録層は、軟磁性層と非磁性層との交互積層により構成された3層以上の多層膜であり、前記非磁性基板に対する最外層が軟磁性層であることを特徴とする垂直磁気記録媒体を提供する。
