Abstract

本発明は、車両に搭載された内燃機関がターボチャージャを備えているときであって、加速要求があったときに、容器に蓄えられたガスを有効に活用して、ターボチャージャの応答性を適切に高めるものである。本発明のターボチャージャ(58)付き内燃機関(10)では、加速するときに、蓄圧容器(78)内の圧力がタービンホイール(48)に供給可能にされているが、加速要求が有ったときから所定時間が経過するまでは蓄圧容器(78)からの圧力供給は抑制される。具体的には、ターボチャージャ(58)が可変ノズルターボチャージャである場合、加速要求があってからベーン(62)の角度が閉じ側の所定角度に制御されるまで、蓄圧容器(78)からの圧力供給が抑制されるように、蓄圧容器(78)とタービンホイール(48)との間に設けられた制御弁(80)の開弁時期は遅らされる。
