Abstract

 燃料電池システムを起動する方法において早期から確実に改質を行いアノード酸化劣化をより確実に防止する。炭化水素系燃料を改質して水素含有ガスを製造する改質触媒層を有する改質器と前記ガスを用いて発電を行う高温型燃料電池とを有する燃料電池システムの起動方法であって、a)起動完了時の燃料流量より少ない流量の燃料を改質可能な触媒層の温度条件と起動完了時の流量の燃料を改質可能な触媒層の温度条件とを予め知り、b)触媒層温度を測定しつつ触媒層を昇温し、c)触媒層の測定温度を前記温度条件のうちの少なくとも一つと比較して前記測定を行った時点で改質可能な燃料流量を判定し、d)判定された流量が燃料流量の現在値を超えた場合に判定された流量の燃料を触媒層に供給して改質し改質ガスを燃料電池アノードに供給し、燃料の触媒層への供給量が起動完了時の流量になるまで工程c及びdを繰り返す。この方法に好適な燃料電池システム。
